DEATHSCYTHE WIP

Basically just a snap build with some parts painted at this point. Working on some poses while I’m planning out how to paint certain parts and make custom decals. This is no where near finished (the white parts are actually from my D1 deathscythe and it’s BARELY snapped together) but I got some new backgrounds and I wanted to test them out. Considering doing some reflective lighting for the final pics. I really like the idea of using the wings/cloak as a shield. I’m most likely gonna have it in the iconic pose that’s in the last two pictures. Once I’m finished I’ll delete this post and replace with the finished product :)

Since I’ve been working on a new deathscythe I thought I’d give a bit of a call back to the first gundam I have ever painted and take new photos. I was so new to this and extremely impatient. Lots of silvering on the decals, nibs that weren’t properly sanded down, paint defects. I destroyed a few decals and used some of the transfer decals for some parts. I really had no idea what I was doing. I’m still learning but I have learned so much since then. Most of all I’ve learned to take my time. Painting these gundams is a therapy to me. It’s one of my many anchors, so I just wanna thank all of you who compliment or show interest in these as I’m doing them ❤️❤️❤️

Wing gundam update from my IG. I’m a little unsure.

Doing something for wing. Starting my custom decals. Wing had the insignia in white but I need it in grey to match the others as you’ll see below.

Project D2

Started on the wings using mr color and the paint guide for the D1 deathscythe but instead of red I used fluorescent red. I then went in and used 5% less fluorescent red over the main parts and kept the recesses the original color I painted it. Then comparing to my original deathscythe that I used tamiya colors following the color guide.

Finished up the cloak, you can see the difference in colors.

Painting the main blue parts semi gloss while the orange and red are gloss and going to paint the limbs matte

Got the frame done up. Painted it with alclad steel.

I had some left over wing Ver Ka decals from a failed project so I decided to use them on this model.

Just a snap build using the D1 white parts to see how it looks while I prep the purple parts.

Half shaded (except the shoulder, knee spike, and forearm guards) haven’t done the left side yet.
