Noble Boarding School AU

I’m disappointed in the shortage of Noble Boarding School AUs, so my brain just birthed one.

Quick note: Cale here stands for og!Cale.

Now, picture this: instead of waiting for years to start acting out, Cale Henituse age eleven convinces Deruth to send him to a noble boarding school. Violan is pregnant with Lily so the timing is just right, Cale wants to create the narrative that he’s getting kicked out.

Deruth is unsure, but Cale convinces him by throwing a fake tantrum after fake tantrum. He’s sick of being stuck at home all day, he says; he needs friends, yadda yadda. Cale relentlessly pushes and pushes and pushes, until Deruth finally gives up.

Cale has a plan! He’s going to become the worst troublemaker this school has, tarnish his reputation to the point his family is ashamed of him and the vassals can’t plead his case any longer, then make a huge mess to get expelled in a couple of years.

—except, Cale’s plan ends obliterated when he accidentally becomes the first year’s valedictorian.

"No, I was not standing up for the students! I was just complaining!", "I didn't intend to expose the staff corruption, I was trying to start trouble!" "I was trying to start a riot, not to form an student council!"

Alberu — Reason: scammed the Queen.

Basically, she wanted to get rid of him to cement her children’s positions in the palace without his interference and tried to send him abroad.

Alberu is no fool and recognizes this is a good opportunity for networking: however, he won’t let his enemies peacefully get rid of him. He says ‘hell, no’ and pulls a Perez (In This Life, I Will Be The Lord/I Shall Master This Family) making the Queen pay him out of her own pocket to get rid of him.

Rosalyn — Reason: fooled her parents.

Our gal just wanted to study magic and the academy has a magic program, she basically lives a double life and her family has no idea.

Taylor Stan (uncrippled) — Reason: buying himself some time away from his crazy family to network in peace.

Eric Wheelsman & Gilbert — Reason: I just want them there.

I wouldn’t include Amiru because I’d like Amiru to focus in her own territory, therefore being homeschooled.

The reason why I’d add Gilbert is because, well, if the school has a magic program why not a knight program as well? Yes, it is just an excuse so I can add Choi Han as well.

I also would make Kim Rok Soo transmigrate as a teacher or something, too.

More Fem OG! Cale rambles...

The idea of Callie as a noona/unnie is very precious to me. Callie brushing Lily's hair while the little girl animatedly talks about her day and her training. Callie giving Basen advice on his studies and forcing him to take a break when he pushes himself too hard.

Firm believer that OG! Cale would give the Best hugs ever, Callie has the bonus of having soft boobs as well :) So, I imagine that any hypothetical love interest Callie would have would take great pleasure in burying their face in her chest. Alberu? Long day of mansplain, manipulate and malewifing, he is so tired and all he wants is his firecracker 'trashy' wife in his embrace and his face in her tiddies. Choi Han? Long day of arguing and training and commandeering, cuddles in the cover of darkness are a must.

I'd mention more but maybe later. All you have you to know is that Callie has soft boobs and they are great.

Also, I have a big thing with like scent attraction and obviously, Callie putting the amount of effort that she does into her appearance, would smell great. I don't know what she would smell like though so feel free to give suggestions!

Callie would have practical accessories, especially if it is a regression AU. Her hair pins can be used to stab people and they function as lockpicks. Her rings are designed to function like sharp brass knuckles and her necklaces have protective mana jewels that create small shields. Stuff like that.

Anyway, that is all for now.

So, I was thinking on the little mermaid. About how she lost her mom when she was a kid, and then music become a taboo around the palace, so she had to snuck out to enjoy music. And my dumb brain whispered "hey, do you think Cale had something like that?"

And now I can't stop thinking about little og Cale, who loved his mom a lot, but loved his father too, and didn't want to see him sad.

The question is not if he had things he enjoyed doing before his mom's death, but that he stopped doing around others after she died. The question is:

What habits or activities do you think he liked to do before? What do you think he kept doing where no one could find out? Which ones do you think he stopped doing because there was not point in doing it alone?

Do you think he liked painting, drawing? I can imagine little Cale seated on his mom's lap while she paints, trying to look serious like his mom, sketching the bird on the window. I can imagine Cale, older, lonelier, locking himself in his room under the excuse of sleep and pulling out a sketchbook from its hideout.

Maybe he liked to sing along his mom, to play something for her. Maybe he still sings for himself. Maybe he goes out and wanders, looking for a place remote enough so no one could see him. Maybe he seats on a branch of a tree and sings until the sun sets. But, maybe, he hasn't play a single note since his mom went away. Maybe everytime he holds an instrument, his hands shakes so much from sadness that he has to put it down ir he'll break it. Maybe he doesn't even touch one around others because he's afraid that they could see how lonely he is. That what he shows is usually just an act.

Maybe he used to do other things. Maybe he used to try desserts and pastries with his mom. Maybe he used to learn etiquette and dancing from her. Maybe they used to choose clothes together. Maybe he still can do all that when the situation allows it. When it doesn't look suspicious.

And maybe he used to play hide and seek with Ron and his mom. Maybe he used to brush her hair and braid it for her. Maybe she used to teach him about plants, doing some gardening together.

Maybe Cale Henituse could never do that again.

Maybe, once he swapped bodies, he slowly started to do things again.

Fem OG! Cale lives in my mind rent free and I'm not even mad about it.

I gave her the name Callie cause it's close enough to Cale and I think it's a really cute name. The anon in this post sums up my feelings perfectly.

I think short hair is great but I like long hair better, and I really like the idea of a long haired Callie! Like the idea of a fake short hairstyle mentioned by Sorby in the post linked above.

Maybe she didn't have the heart to cut her hair, it reminded her too much of her mother. So, she'd tie it with a pretty headband to make her hair look like a bob.

Callie would braid her hair in the silence of her room, ignoring the world around her as she weaved together silky and sweet-smelling red strands.

Maybe, she bonds with Lily through her ability to style hair. Lily practices with the sword so as her Unnie, Callie helps her tie it up so it won't get in the way and won't get damaged either.

I love Callie.

Most people I see draw Og! Cale with short hair, esp in regressor AUs and whatnot. And like I get that and I like the short hair but long-haired Og! Cale has a special place in my heart and I'm sad that we don't get to see him often.

This also coincides with how people draw fem! Og! Cale with short hair. Like, I can understand her originally cutting it to not burden her father but I'd like to think that if she had the choice, she would keep it long as a point of connection with her mother.

Tbh I haven't seen many fanarts of fem!Og!Cale, but I'm with you in this.

I prefer long-haired or medium-lenght-haired Og!Cale who styles his hair in beautiful artistics ways. Og!Cale who ties his hair in high ponytails with a brooch or a bun when he doesn't have time.

Og!Cale who uses Kanade Amamiya's messy ponytail bc he wants more cool/casual vibes.

Og!Cale whose bangs are blocking his sight and brush them casually with an annoyed sigh— because he's so exhausted damn it— and makes everyone in range have a sexuality crisis.

If it's about not causing his dad a heart attack: Og!Cale who does a Fii (mc from a LN I read a bit years ago) and ties his hair in a way that looks short but it's actually long, just hidden (or with a magic tool). So he can let it loose when he's alone.
