You know those "Og!Cale transmigrates into an Otome" fics?
Well, what about a fic where capture target Alberu goes to sleep one day and dreams with the plot of his life— that apparently is a game???— and finds out that:
First, the new student is going to start a war if she/he/they keep acting like they do.
Second, there's a high chance that Marquis Stan and his son, Venion, betray Roan.
And third— his fianceé, Cale Henituse, is actually really truly cute.
Now, how can he convince his fianceé that a position as the husband of the future ruler is a better way to avoid a succession battle than, you know, tarnishing his own reputation to ashes? He also has to woe him as he deserves. There's no way he's treating him the same as his alternate self did.
(Yes, alternate. Because now he has seen how adorable, intelligent and sweet he is, he can't possible be so indifferent towards him.
Alternate Alberu is the stupid Alberu and present-Alberu denies any relationship to him.
"Aunt, if I ever become so dumb, please put some sense into me."
"Alberu, you haven't even checked if that dream was true."
"It was a very realistic dream.")
He also needs allies. Hmm... Maybe he could ask his help? Cale doesn't seem someone who would trust completely in someone who doesn't trust him back. Plus, he probably could come up with a plan or two in the time it takes to make a pot of tea.
More Fem OG! Cale rambles...
The idea of Callie as a noona/unnie is very precious to me. Callie brushing Lily's hair while the little girl animatedly talks about her day and her training. Callie giving Basen advice on his studies and forcing him to take a break when he pushes himself too hard.
Firm believer that OG! Cale would give the Best hugs ever, Callie has the bonus of having soft boobs as well :) So, I imagine that any hypothetical love interest Callie would have would take great pleasure in burying their face in her chest. Alberu? Long day of mansplain, manipulate and malewifing, he is so tired and all he wants is his firecracker 'trashy' wife in his embrace and his face in her tiddies. Choi Han? Long day of arguing and training and commandeering, cuddles in the cover of darkness are a must.
I'd mention more but maybe later. All you have you to know is that Callie has soft boobs and they are great.
Also, I have a big thing with like scent attraction and obviously, Callie putting the amount of effort that she does into her appearance, would smell great. I don't know what she would smell like though so feel free to give suggestions!
Callie would have practical accessories, especially if it is a regression AU. Her hair pins can be used to stab people and they function as lockpicks. Her rings are designed to function like sharp brass knuckles and her necklaces have protective mana jewels that create small shields. Stuff like that.

I kind of love how whenever you write about Alberu and Cale that it always somehow spirals into romance.

I really like the fact that the vagueness and mystery of OG! Cale's canonical character leaves lots of room for interpretation. Like, there's many versions 'og!Cale' in the tcf fandom and I can look at them, note the consistent commonalities and the differences, and go: yes, this is nice.
I think since most OG! Cale fics are written from his POV (the ones that I've read at least) with a few lines from other characters sprinkled in, you don't really encapsulate that mysterious vibe.
It'd be cool if we got a fic that's either a Twin AU, Roksu or the Soos transmigrate together or even a TBOAH AU that have OG! Cale as the or one of the main character but it's written entirely from another person's POV and we rarely get a peek into his mind. You get that vibe sometimes in stories but it's very brief before we switch to the main perspective again.
OG! Cale, in my eyes, is a deeply kind and empathetic person who forces distance that he doesn't want between himself and the world around him for a multitude of reasons. He's gentle and sweet but he's terrifying and you never know what he's thinking if he doesn't want you too.
I would love to see a completely outside perspective on him and his actions. Through that distant, dreamy sort of lens that you sometimes get when people write Cale from Basen and Lily's POV.

You ever reading an OG! AlbeCale fic and they meet when they're younger and you're violently reminded that they have a five year age gap.
This is not to bash on anyone or throw shade because frankly, that's stupid and I would be hypocritical because I have read those 'problematic' fics where they meet and fall for each other when Cale's under 18 and Alberu's a legal adult.
I honestly just think it's really funny, legit muttering "your highness, that's a minor" under my breath as I continue reading.
TBOAH Modern AU meets OG! AlbeCale AU.
The modern AU characters are HIGHLY concerned and suspicious. Ron is sharpening his knives (retired hitman).
Anyway, just thought I'd drop this.
I cant sleeppp all i can think abt rn is no white star, no war au where the henituse eventually rlly do have to fully disown og cale when hes like 24 and cale just immediately gets out of the county and uses it like a vacation
Despite all the shit cale has done to get to this point his parents and siblings (especially deruth) are still rlly worried for him, but the vassals backed them into a corner and theyre now looking for a way to destroy the vassals to shit
Cale isnt a henituse anymore for the time being so he goes full thames and makes friends and has fun all across the world
And when he finally meets his family again while they fuss over him he goes “oh yea meet my new friends” and its a dragon, a mercenary king, an ex priestess and for some reason a dark elf is following him around too begging cale to “take him back”
Also apparently theres a few more thames cale met while travelling and they get along well
A scene idea for the Twin AU I was talking about earlier, here are some crumbs for all you little AlCale shippers.
Alberu went out to the garden during a banquet for some reason and some guys jumped out from the shadows and like fed him poison and chased after him.
Callie, who was also in the garden, gives chase once she sees this.
She managed to hit the guy carrying Alberu with a blow to the head (she threw a rock really hard) and used that momentary distraction to snatch the crown prince back and set him down a few steps away.
She then realizes that she is surrounded by like 20 armed kidnappers, she is wearing a beautiful elaborate deep mauve gown with heels, her hair is down and she has no weapon.
What she does have is her swordmaster aura, her fists and war-honed instincts.
So, she leans down and pinches Alberu’s cheek gently before whispering in his ear, “Don’t worry, your highness, I’ll save you.”
Callie proceeds to fight all 20 of them at once, burning skin and freezing organs and breaking bones before she steals one their swords and then cuts the heads off all of them in one round slice.
Alberu, who is sitting on the ground, hyperventilating from poison and panic is wide-eyed and in awe and kind of scared.
Callie approaches him, scrutinizing his state. She cleaned her hands from blood with her handkerchief and a nearby pond before sticking her fingers in Alberu’s mouth.
Alberu is, understandably, flustered. His cheeks flush red and his already uneven breathing gets worse. This is intensified when Callie puts her fingers in her own mouth to taste his saliva. She’s trying to figure out which poison it is since the symptoms are too common for her to figure out anything.
Ignoring the sputtering prince, she reached into her spatial pouch and procured a makeshift antidote before picking up Aberu and throwing him over her shoulder. She then begins rushing to the palace, keeping the stolen sword just in case they get attacked again.
So, Callie barges back into the banquet hall and it goes silent. She’s covered in blood, has a sword and some minor injuries and has the crown prince thrown over her shoulder.
Before anything is said or done, she takes him to the King and informs him of what happened, not caring about the eyes on her. Alberu is taken to the infirmary, Callie hands over the sword so it can be investigated and she gets a room to stay in at the palace.
And that’s about it. Also, just thought I’d mention it, I’ll probably post more ship posts about this AU because I really like romantic tension and sort of harems that edge the line of platonic and romantic.
