PERMANENT MARK

I think I healed and the wound you left on me is nothing but a scar now

But from Time to time I think of you

Not because I miss you or because I want you back,but your presence in my life left a permanent mark

You know I think even after 10 years from now when I meet someone new and we'll go on our first date I'll see your face in the person sitting across from me

And when we have our first kiss I'll taste your name so bitter on my tongue

When we say the first I love yous you'll cross my mind

When we move together and we're so in love they'll get on one knee I know your name will echo in my head as i say yes

And when I'm walking down the aisle to Marry the love of my life I know your ghost will be next to me when I say I do

And I'll feel terribly guilty as I read my vows but you left a mark on me that I have to live with

in 40 years when I finally run out of stories about you

maybe I'll have the power to set your ghost free and I won't remember which scar on my heart is from your knife

And your name won't shake my feelings anymore

And I'll forget how you taste

And your favorite song and that your favorite color is gray and your birthday too

how you smile so big till your eyes wrinkle,and the stories behind all your tattoos and why you got them

And the scar on your arm from falling off your bike when you were seven

I'll forget your middle name,your favorite show,and the quotes from your favorite books

I'll forget how your cheeks get so red when it gets cold and how much you hated winter even though it's my favorite season

How you breath when you're sleeping next to me and the warmth you make me feel whith a look

One day in 40 years I will forget about you and you won't mean anything to me but a person I used to know

But for now I'll still avoid the streets we used to Walk together and our favorite restaurant,the coffee shop we went to on our first date and every place that your ghost still hunts.
