ok so I know all too well is about a breakup but I just can't stop thinking about the fact that the line 'the image you had of me who was she, a never needy ever lovely jewel, whose shine reflects on you' represents how some parents think of their kids not as humans but as trophies they get to show off to make them feel good about themselves and never stop to think that the kids have their ups and downs too and basically just don't think of them as a human being

I think I healed and the wound you left on me is nothing but a scar now
But from Time to time I think of you
Not because I miss you or because I want you back,but your presence in my life left a permanent mark
You know I think even after 10 years from now when I meet someone new and we'll go on our first date I'll see your face in the person sitting across from me
And when we have our first kiss I'll taste your name so bitter on my tongue
When we say the first I love yous you'll cross my mind
When we move together and we're so in love they'll get on one knee I know your name will echo in my head as i say yes
And when I'm walking down the aisle to Marry the love of my life I know your ghost will be next to me when I say I do
And I'll feel terribly guilty as I read my vows but you left a mark on me that I have to live with
in 40 years when I finally run out of stories about you

One day in 40 years I will forget about you and you won't mean anything to me but a person I used to know
But for now I'll still avoid the streets we used to Walk together and our favorite restaurant,the coffee shop we went to on our first date and every place that your ghost still hunts.
