A = Attractive (What do they find attractive about the other?)

It’s your laugh, he loves how happy you sound when you laugh. He might just love it more if you laugh hard enough you snort. He loves the way your nose wrinkles and your eyes crinkle when you laugh. He loves the sound of your softer laughs too, the little giggles that are just so bubbly.

B = Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?)

Not particularly, it isn’t that he wouldn’t love to have a family, it’s just that he already had a kid. So if you want children he’s all for it, he just doesn’t exactly have baby fever or anything.

C = Cuddle (How do they cuddle?)

Don’t get me wrong, he loves to cuddle, he’s just also an exhausted doctor. So you pretty much only cuddle when it’s time for bed and he’s already almost asleep. Although he does get up earlier than you do and he started getting up fifteen minutes earlier so that he could just hold you for a little while. Eventually you catch on to his habit and start to wake up to that alarm too so that you cuddle in closer than you already are for a little bit, even if you’re just gonna go back to sleep when he actually has to get up. 100% the big spoon 🥄, he’ll put his arms around you and then joke that his arm is asleep in the morning, he also definitely puts a leg over yours. He’s not the kind of cuddler that you couldn’t get loose from if you wanted, it’s just that mostly you don’t want.

D = Dates (What are dates with them like?)

Leonard isn’t a date night in kind of guy, maybe you actually go out when you’re on shore leave, but he really just likes his sleepy alone time with you. At first he probably feels bad about it, saying that he doesn’t know why you date a sleepy old man, but then he realises you love it just as much. Your dates are basically spent on the couch in pyjamas, this is one of the other times that he definitely cuddles with you. You two will watch an entire movie together and he’s not gonna let you go anywhere unless you really have to, but with puppy dog eyes like that (he doesn’t look it, but damn does he have really good puppy dog eyes) you rarely end up classifying any reason to get up as a must.

E = Everything (You are my ____ (e.g. my life, my world…))

Luna, your his moon, but Luna is cuter. It’s dark in space, really dark. You’re his light and he can’t stand when you’re not around, you make things brighter. He loves it when you visit the medbay, if he’s not busy then he’ll fill out forms while chatting with you, otherwise he’ll just give you a quick kiss before being dragged off to the next thing.

F = Feelings (When did they know they were in love?)

The first time he really knew he loved you was when they’re were a plethora of injured flooding into the medbay and technically he was already busy. The moment he saw you walk in while being supported by Uhura, he left the patient he was already working on. He didn’t even falter as his previous patient shouted after him. When he was willing to desert his previous (and very important task) for someone who was just supposed to be another patient, he was pretty sure he wanted to be more than just friends.

G = Gentle (Are they gentle? If so, how?)

Of course Bones is gentle, he loves you, but as much as he loves you he really doesn’t want to have to patch you up if he can help it. If you do get injured he’s the first one there though and won’t let anyone else touch you unless absolutely necessary. Emotionally though, he’s just as gentle as Kirk, although if you’re being an idiot he’s gonna tell you. Mostly though, he knows what it’s like to hurt and he doesn’t want you to ever feel that way. He might not be the best at feelings, but if you ever need to talk he’s there.

H = Hands (How do they like to hold hands?)

Holding hands is alright, though he prefers to put a hand on your waist. It’s just reassuring to know that he’s got you with him, plus (and he only does this occasionally so it catches you off guard every time) sometimes he gives your side a little squeeze to tickle you because he loves the way you jump away and squeal.

I = Impression (What was their first impression?)

He thinks you’ve done something incredibly stupid, the first time you meet Jim carries you into the medbay because you sprained your ankle. You didn’t even sprain it doing anything meaningful! When Leonard asked how it happened you tell him that it happened running through the halls of the Enterprise. When he asks why you were running you refuse to answer, but the look on Jim’s face tells him everything. “Racing through the hall with Jim? Really?” He raises an exhausted eyebrow and sighs. Of course he’ll fix it for you and ask you to check in with him in a few days, but damnit he’s tired of Jim’s antics.

J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)

Not really, he doesn’t get jealous for anything unreasonable. He knows that at the end of the day you love him and it’s his clothes you’re wearing to bed as pyjamas. That’s about what matters to him.

K = Kiss (How do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)

Softly and quickly, he usually kisses you hello and goodbye. He likes to surprise you with them sometimes, like when you’re not looking he’ll sneak up and give you a kiss. He kisses you first when you get a cut on your hand and joke that a kiss would make it all better, much to your surprise he does.

L = Love (Who says ‘I love you’ first?)

It’s Bones. Bones says I love you first without thinking about it. You were being overdramatic about an injury saying you were dying and he runs out to the living room to see you laying on the ground. At first he doesn’t know what’s wrong so he kneels beside you and asks. When you tell him that you tripped over a chair and hit the ground he smacks you on the back of the head. “I love you, but you can’t scare me like that!” He warned you.

M = Memory (What’s their favourite memory together?)

Honestly his favourite memory of you is probably the time you left your quarters in one of his uniform shirts. Nobody told you until you were on the bridge “I didn’t know you had become a science officer!” Kirk had taken delight in your embarrassment. He still wonders how you didn’t notice you were wearing a shirt that didn’t fit you right. (I know this wasn’t exactly the prompt but I couldn’t help myself)

N = Nickel (Do they spoil? Do they buy the person they love everything?)

Not really, that sort of behaviour feels, to him, like he’s trying to buy you and that doesn’t sit right with him so he opts for trying to spend as much time as he can manage with you.

O = Orange (What colour reminds them of their other half?)

Dark dark blue. Like the night sky, the night has always been his hideaway from the anxieties of the day. He considers you to be just that, you don’t expect too terribly much of him and that makes him feel like he can relax, you only expect him, nothing more.

P = Pet names (What pet names do they use?)

It comes naturally to him to just call you Darlin’. So much so that you’re not even sure he remembers what your name really is. Leonard isn’t going to try and change it either, he knows you love his southern charm. He loves watching you melt inside a little each time he calls you darlin’.

Q = Quaint (What is their favourite non-modern thing?)

No question, it’s records. He loves music so much and there’s just something different about playing a record, it takes music from just being something passing to being an experience. He went to great lengths to find a working record player and records in good enough shape to play.

R = Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)

Puts on a record and cooks (I dunno I just think that he’d be a good cook and an even better baker). You probably wake up to the smell of something delicious and the sound of rain, you think you might still be asleep because this is too good to be true. It probably comes as a surprise to you that he can cook.

S = Sad (How do they cheer themselves/others up?)

He’s kinda bad at making people (himself included) feel better. Bones will probably just say “It could always be worse”. He’s the kinda guy who needs to be told that we do not call a traumatic experience an “it is what it is”

T = Talking (What do they like to talk about?)

Mostly he complains, not gonna lie. whether it be about the terrible replicator food or Kirk’s latest death trap of a mission, he.will.find.something.to.complain.about.

Sometimes it’s even that he’s genuinely frustrated, he’s just generally a really stressed out guy and complaining helps him let go of some of it. Other than complaining he likes to tell you what today’s stupidest injury was.

U = Unencumbered (What helps them relax?)

being alone, save you, you can stay, but everyone else has to leave. Aside from that, maybe knowing that Kirk is asleep and can’t get himself hurt at the moment, but Bones wouldn’t put it past Kirk to get hurt in his sleep. But really just having quiet time alone with you eases his mind to no end.

V = Vaunt (What do they like to show off? What are they proud of?)

We’re all thinking it, it’s his hands, he knows they’re talented. If you get sore muscles he definitely takes pride in the fact that you’ll ask him for a back rub first. Will 💯 come up behind you when you look tense and just start rubbing your shoulders to help you relax and watch you turn into putty.

W = Wedding (When, how, where do they propose?)

He’s scared of that kind of commitment because he wouldn’t be able to handle another Jocelyn type incident. You would have to propose to him, but if you do he’ll say yes before you can get your knee all the way to the ground. I know it doesn’t ask about the wedding itself, but Kirk 💯 marries you two with a shit eating grin on his face because he knew it!!

X = Xylophone (What’s their song?)

Southern Nights by Glenn Campbell. Not only is it a country song, it’s just really sleepy. Basically it’s Bones if he were a song. It quickly becomes his favourite because (despite pretending to be upset by it) he loves that there’s a song that reminded you of him enough that you had to bring it to his attention. He can 1000% be found sleeping with this song playing on loop

Y = Yes (Do they ever think of getting married/proposing?)

Sometimes, but he doesn’t know if he can handle being married again, I mean he knows that he’ll always love you, but what if one day you wake up and realise you don’t love him? 😢🥺😭. He’s just scared of being hurt again.

Z = Zebra (If they wanted a pet, what would they get?)

Honestly he just wants a mid-sized dog to cuddle with. But he definitely keeps threatening Spock with the idea that he’d get a pet lizard 🦎 👀

Sleepy fluff Bones

You woke up to the sound of the ship’s whirring and soft snoring, which was odd because normally Leonard was up significantly earlier than you. It came as a bit of a shock until you slowly came to realise that he had today off. He had told you that. It unfortunately did not keep you from forgetting. Seeing this rare occurrence you do what any loving person would do. You slowly shift over in bed to lay your head on his chest and look up at his face. You love him, and you love seeing him so relaxed. You never get to see the crease between his brows relax when he’s awake. Part of you wished it could stay like this forever. You know that come to tomorrow you won’t see this again, he’ll have gone to work. Leonard moves slightly, startling you. Your heart nearly stops because you couldn’t really handle it if you woke him. “I can feel you lookin’ at me” Leonard mutters in your general direction. Your face heats up slightly knowing he’s been awake long enough to know you’re staring. “I can’t help it, you’re so pretty when you sleep” you sigh softly, “That’s not creepy at all, darlin” he murmurs as he stretches. “No it’s not, it’s romantic” you quietly argue. “Oh, well in that case, I could take a nap right about now. You know all that romance tuckered me out” he said, already closing his eyes again. “But you just woke up?” You whined, “And? I could still take a nap” he shrugged. “What about me? Don’t you love me? I’ll have to leave soon” you plead with Leonard. “Shh, just get over here” he demanded as if you weren’t already basically laying on top of him, “How much closer do you think I can get exactly?!?” You ask incredulously. Maybe you could be late today… just this once, right?
