The A Star Wars Story Concept Is The Best Thing That Got Stiffed In Disney Star Wars. Everyone Collectively

The “A Star Wars Story” concept is the best thing that got stiffed in Disney Star Wars. Everyone collectively agrees that Rogue One is a phenomenal movie but I think that Solo deserves the same kind of love.

Solo is not nearly as good as Rogue One but really I didn’t expect it to be and I think it is an incredibly entertaining and enjoyable movie that adds to the Han Solo character without vastly changing things about him.

People point to Alden Erenreich as not the best choice to play Han Solo but when I’m 10 minutes into his performance and he’s being exactly the stuck up, over confident, douche he is in the beginning of A New Hope I had no question on the casting choice

Solo ranked fairly low at the box office and that seems to be the reason Disney hasn’t made a Star Wars Story movie again. I think exploring these smaller stories that don’t really have to impact the whole galaxy like the main ones do is such an interesting and exciting concept that just got canned.

I wish they’d bring it back but I can sit and enjoy my two Star Wars Story movies without a need for more.

The new episodes of Bad Batch have me really wishing more than ever that Disney had adapted the legends stories where Palpatine comes back as a clone. The series is making it seem like an actually cool and interesting plot line to be followed but from the beginning of the sequel trilogy it’s clear that is not what their plan was.

If seeds had been laid early on that Palpatine might return through the wack ass conscious transfer into a clone Sith bullshit he pulled in legends and then they really did it well, all of this would be good and dandy but I don’t see it happening.

There been a lot of buzz about “maybe this new Bad Batch season will fix the sequels like the clone wars fixed the prequels.” But the difference is that George Lucas had a barebones plan for what was supposed to happen in those movies start to finish, the Clone Wars fleshed out characters and made us care significantly more but the prequels didn’t rely on the clone wars to fix bad writing. It seems like people are so desperate to have hope in Disney Star Wars that they’ll say this new season will fix things while forgetting how terrible The Rise of Skywalker really was.

No show can fix the sequels.

Disney dropped the ball hard and Dave Filoni and Jon Faverau have to try and clean up their mess and it’s not really working. I love the Bad Batch and I’m loving the new season but Disney putting their nose down and doubling down on the sequels is not the play.
