So how about that Nintendo Direct yesterday, huh. (Made this morning as a quick warmup. I'm not sorry for noticing the resemblance.)

And now, for something unexpected - a proper character reference sheet! I plan on entering this year's Art Fight, so I figured now was as good a time as any to get down to brass tacks and make reference sheets for everyone. First up is my friendly kaiju, Terrance! Made sure to include everything I could—a front view, a side view, some expressions, and cutaways to show construction details of his neck and hips that would be hidden by his head and legs, respectively.

What is this thing? A mantis? A featherless chicken? ...Well, it's definitely the latter more than the former. Made this as a late-night warmup sketch yesterday, started with some random shapes and ended up with this fellow. A quick color palette later, and I've got myself some sort of avian alien! This would fit in pretty well in Korath's universe, don't you think? Another species populating the stars of a future where humanity has been lost to the cosmos... Timelapse below the cut!

Another Art Fight character reference down! This time, it's Ica. Got his body, his wrench, the underside of his foot in case it comes up, even the interior of the sockets his joints plug into. And some expressions, of course! Admittedly, while making this, I found myself confusing all the purples and oranges I used for his eyes and other glows. But I got them all sorted out eventually.

Today's character ref is for Lotu! Made sure to catch both their good and furious side for this reference, along with their usual furrowed expression. And yes, I had to emphasize their hatred of scientists in the bullet points. Someday I'll detail what went down in their past to cause such a vile hatred...
