Fanfiction conveniently exists for writing "that other story/ending/setting" you'd like to see happen, or are curious how the scenario would turn out if you tweaked a detail... or three... or all of it and dive hard into AU lands...

Remembering that the "original canon story" is someone elses' story baby they all worked hard to make, and it's cool they get to share it with us, I think helps a lot.

I really only scream in a fandom if the screen-writing took some really terrible turn like, didn't even make *sense* or something. And that's critique on the skill of storytelling itself, rather than a hate for the story. Rip my heart out and throw it on the theatre floor with heartbreaking feels, sure; a story making me feel so strongly is a mark of skilled storytelling.

Make me frustrated because the writing itself didn't make sense and broke immersion of said story, and you'll probably never get me out of the realm of fanfiction for that show again.

I watch The Bad Batch as an exploration of the beginning of the Empire from the perspective of a group of fugitives trying to get by in a galaxy that doesn't always make sense.

I'm here for their story.

I'm here for WHATEVER the writers, artists, and composers give us in their own good time. I want the plot to be given to me slowly. I want a character's redemption or further fall to have so much meat to it that I sit back and think, "Wow. They went through hell to get here."

I want to find out what makes the characters tick one morsel at a time, and I'm NOT going to complain about where the writers take them if it's not what I envisioned for them because it's the story.

Honestly, I'm finding this fandom to be a tedious place lately. A lot of people only seem to enjoy the show if they are given exactly what they want by the writers and the moment the show deviates from that, they complain.

I'm here for the story. Please reblog this or leave me a comment if you are too because I want to surround myself with other fans who are here for the Batch's story in whatever direction it takes us.

I'm suffering even thinking about it.

Marry is easy. I'd marry Hunter, he'd be such a good husband (and I wanna have kids and I already know he's a lovely dad, so it would be perfect).

And as much as this pains me (poor Cross), I absolutely cannot kill Echo. He's been one of my fave boys for years. He 'died' once and I couldn't handle it, so... Kriff Echo.

Every holo transmission from Cid has been pretty smooth... Except with her latest message that contained a threat about the kid.

That glitchy recording struck me as odd and possibly significant.

It makes me wonder if someone doctored a holo.

CID THEORY

Something about Cid doesn't sit right with me.

Her personality clearly isn't full of sun and she is a business woman after all, but we've seen she can smile and care.

Cid clearly created a bond with Omega. She called Omega her friend. When they took the spice from Roland and Omega was being held hostage by the Pykes, she said she would get the kid out of this mess herself. Omega also always wanted to help Cid and Cid was aware of it, knowing she now owe them.

If there is something that this show has taught me is to not fall in love with the new introducted clones and to pay attention to the smallest detail and word.

Cid told Millegi she had changed, and when he mocked her she replied with "I might surprise you." It almost like she said that to all of us since we've been all having issues with her from the beginning.

Now, wasn't it surprising to you that Cid purchased like an empty ipsium mine? The fact the batch found ipsium seemed like pure luck.

And when they wanted her to come for them, she refused immediately even though they got the ipsium that was worth hella credits? She really would ditch that occasion?

What if she wanted them out off Ord Mantell?

Remember what she said before the mission to get some of the Dooku's treasure? She said they could buy their freedom and when Hunter said they're already free she said "It's cute you think that. Clearly, you're not playing attention to what's happening out there but I am. It's a matter of time before the Empire comes here."

What if the Empire's already on Ord Mantell?

What if Cid found out about Empire coming on the planet and she sent The Batch on some forgotten planet. Maybe during their mission, she tried to use their absence to find a new place for them. When they told her they were stuck, maybe she saw it as a blessing cause the Empire was everywhere and she needed more time.

She knew they would survive. She's seen what they're capable of. She knew they would find a solution. Cid didn't seem surprised they were OK.

Now we see her prerecorded comm? With some disturbance? What if that's not even her? Like let's think about it here. Omega paid off their debt, they were now free and were just doing missions for additional credits. Why would she demented for them to come back? She sounded almost desperate.

I genuinely think The Empire got on Ord Mentell, captured Cid. They found out about her connection to the batch. Remember those two dudes that keep hanging in Cid's pub. They're not the brightest, maybe they slipped something about the batch while drunk or from pure fear. And now the Empire is using Cid's face as bait to get to the batch.

Me ranting about the Clone Wars again: "I mean, the Separatists had no idea that Palpatine's floozies were running things! Wait .... Flunkies! I meant flunkies! Lackeys! Minions!"

My husband: Ah yes, his floozies. Tarkin and Dooku, those slutty slutty bitches.

Crosshair writes the most beautiful, captivating, and succinct poetry... and it's a shame he doesn't let anyone read it.

Hunter gets bad migraines and his brothers help him through it in their own ways.

Wrecker was given his tooka doll by since kid their team helped way back when; he got into sewing because of it, and sews without patterns; he's got a great eye for visualizing a form to assemble it from seemingly nothing. I like to think he has given plushies he's made to children in warzones on their missions.

Echo occasionally glitches out his own voice if he sneezes, interrupting the air flow regulation from his artificial respiratory system, this causing him to talk in a squeaky voice. Tech always has an excuse why he can't fix it for Echo right away.

Tech is Not Allowed Caffine... But he likes it. That man's mind is already stretched taut with the amount of information he processes constantly, that even a small cup of coffee or a soda is enough to send him into hyperactive fits. Sometimes Crosshair sneaks Tech a caffeine treat, when he wants to passively annoy or distract his brothers... Or if Tech had a really bad time.

Omega regularly rescues animals in danger (or perceived danger) and makes Hunter and the boys scramble to keep up with their well meaning sibling. They adopt a cat because of this.
