but there is nothing better than the comedy of them hyping up Be'lal for like exactly one chapter and Moiraine being like "HE'S GOING TO KILL ALL OF YOU. HE'S SO DANGEROUS. HE'S SO POWERFUL AND YOU'LL ALL DIE."

then she just walks into the room he's in and balefires him mid evil rant in the same scene he's introduced and before he even does anything and its like 'lol nevermind'

like Moiraine is absolutely being an asshole and I'm not gonna try to argue against that. I do even kinda like that she's being an asshole and clearly not making the right decisions in terms of maintaining any kind of relationship with Lan. the show is going full throated with how fucked up it can be and I do like that, I wanna see people fuck up and make big mistakes, you know? I like her not making the best decisions and so I'm not gonna like defend her to people who are complaining about that.

what I don't get are the people complaining about her not being forthcoming to everyone with her plans and the information she has, because if you've read the books, you're well aware that she's been staying in the house where 2 out of the 3 people who live there are darkfriends. like disregarding what we know about Verin and Tomas, they ARE darkfriends and Moiraine is absolutely valid with not talking out loud about her activities (Moiraine being the girl who literally taught herself to channel by eavesdropping on people using it) or telling anyone what information she's gathering, especially when she woulda just found out that Lanfear is running around in the world again and might be working with the Black Ajah, which she absolutely 100% knows is real, unlike most Aes Sedai. like her just trying to get out of there before the Fades showed up and attacked everyone else was maybe the best thing she coulda done in terms of protecting them in a house where you have no idea if any or all of the people there might be darkfriends or might think you're one if you reveal too much

im having all of the normal thoughts about moiraine and lan aha yea sooo normal. :')
