My big brother and I nicknamed our little sister “pickle” when we were kids. Her name starts with an M and sounds nothing like pickle. There’s a long convoluted story behind how she ended up with that name. It has stuck all these years. She’s in my phone as “Pickle.” She is now 36 years old lol.

Charles never goes by any nicknames with his friends, and while those two ghost jocks call him Charlie a couple times he obviously never went by that name in life since he suggests it’s what they should call the night nurse

I think he probably was given a nickname in high school though, it was the 80s, if you had friends you had a nickname. These nicknames often had nothing to do with your actual name though, leading me to believe he had some ridiculous nickname with a confusing backstory.

Though if he was called something based on his legal name I think it would have to be the most stereotypical british lad nickname available:
