Summary

This is a window into the life of Cillian Murphy, actor, husband, and divorced father of two, currently cooped up at home due to the global pandemic. Join me as we explore the exploits of he and his wife (Y/N insert) as they navigate the ups and downs of life through lockdown. Expect tooth-rotting fluff, occasional angst and a fair smattering of downright filth.

Stories marked 🔞 contain smut and/or adult themes. Stories with 💯 were inspired by my 100 followers celebration. Each chapter has its own warnings section but the story includes themes of pregnancy loss and sexual assault. You are responsible for your own media consumption. Minors DNI.

This story doesn’t follow a chronological timeline - we’ll jump around the pandemic and our couple’s background depending on the scene. Chapters don’t generally flow from one to the other unless clearly marked (such as Parts 3 & 4) but where appropriate I’ll reference things from earlier chapters so it makes sense to read these in order.

practical writing advice part 2

part 1

get used to carrying a notebook around with you. or get used to writing on your phone. you will not always have access to your computer, but it’s much easier to take something compact with you to quickly jot down ideas. also i have chronic illness and sometimes my bones feel like lead and going upstairs to get my laptop is a herculean task, BUT i can write on my phone lying down instead of just scrolling through my camera roll and being miserable. which brings me to my next point:

if you have to choose between writing unconventionally or even unproductively and not writing at all, choose the writing. i’ve said before not to create a habit of writing in bed, but if it comes down to writing in bed or not writing whatsoever, i’ll write in bed. i just try to stretch before and after (which you should also do!!!).

you’re not wasting time or being silly by making playlists or moodboards or memes of your characters and environments. having fun with your stories outside of writing them is a good way to stay motivated.

i like to stop my writing sessions in a place where i know exactly what i want to write next, so when i pick back up i won’t be left hemming and hawing over where to begin. HOWEVER, if you’re absolutely locked in, don’t interrupt that flow state. it’ll be harder to find it again later—instead, wait until you find a natural place to stop where you haven’t run out of ideas.

“why do i have a headache 3 hours into my writing session?” because the last time you had a sip of water was 4 hours ago, you dingus! keep your drinks near your workspace while you write. and i do mean, like, a full bottle of water at least. if you’re like me, things stop existing when they leave your line of sight, so keep these beverages where you can see them and refill during bathroom breaks.

uhhh try not to think negatively about your writing while you’re doing it because when i do that i just get bummed out. “this scene is terrible” -> “oh yeah fuck it up oh yeah fuck it up” (positive reframing)

𝐀 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐔𝐑𝐋

Want to change your URL, but you're worried about the amount of time it will take to update all those links on your masterlist? Well, fret no more! Below the cut is a simple way to update your masterlist, no matter how many links you need to update.

(This way was originally shown to me in 2020 by the wonderful @murdock-and-the-sea)

Okay so first thing obviously is to change your URL by going to Edit Appearance on desktop and changing it here:

Once you have done that, all the links to your masterlist will now be broken, so the next thing you will need to do is click the Edit Theme button below:

Once you have done that you will get to this screen:

Find the link for your masterlist, and change the tumblr url to your new one and then click save. Now you will be able to access your main masterlist from the link in your bio.

Then...

Once you're in your masterlist, click on the edit button, and once the editable document is open, click on the little wheel on the top right of the screen and change Text Editor from Rich Text to HTML, and you should get a wall of text come up like this:

(Don't worry about any images or formatting when this happens, it's all safe)

Now you should open up something like the Notes or Word or something like that, and copy and paste the HTML Code onto that. To be safe, make sure you save this so you don't lose it. Once you've done that, do CTRL H so you get a Find and Replace box like this:

In the Find box, put your old URL, and in the Replace box, put your new URL, and then click Replace All.

Once that is done, copy and paste this back into your masterlist, and change it back to Rich Text. Your Masterlist with all it's images and formatting should come back up as normal, and then press save! Now, you should be able to access each link on your main masterlist (I would check on desktop by clicking each link, this usually cements it in place as it doesn't always immediately show on mobile for some reason, but as long as it works on desktop it's fine).

Now, you'll need to repeat this process for each individual masterlist you have, so if you have several character or fandom specific masterlists, you'll need to update each of them individually, and if you have any series's on any of the masterlists, you will need to repeat it for that as well, but ultimately, this is the quickest and simplest way to change your URL and update links!

As someone who's used this method four times, I can tell you it's taken me a maximum of twenty minutes to update my masterlist (and that was when I had a much bigger masterlist with over ten series on my old blog)

I hope this helps anyone that wants to change their URL and has been too scared to! As someone who went from the ugliest URL ever (suz-123, I hated it) I was immensely grateful to find this way to do it <3

I envision her being a few years younger than Tommy (like 2ish years)...her age is not explicitly stated, but there will be some nuances that allude to the fact.
