Paradise (Alfie Solomons X Fem!OC)

Alfie Solomons x Rose Coldwell (ofc) (Masterlist)

Summary: Alfie and Rose finally have a free day to enjoy themselves. The countryside is a good option, away from London and the noisy city. That willow tree seems to be perfect. Two teenagers in love, alone, eating pies surrounded by grass, ducks and a beautiful stream. Although Mother Nature decided that these little bugs were part of the landscape, too.

Warnings: Bugs -> 🐜🐝. || Fluff. || I invented Alfie's mom's name.

Words: 2.6k

This is the little memory I mentioned when I wrote this letter (part of this event) but you don't need to read to understand this. But, if you want to read much better. Also @call-sign-shark I used some things from your letter here.

Paradise (Alfie Solomons X Fem!OC)

1905

"If you touch anything in that basket I'll cut your hand off, Samuel!"

Seventeen-year-old Rose Coldwell was pacing back and forth in her house, preparing for a date with her boyfriend, Alfie. After more than two weeks they could finally spend a whole day together and, more importantly, alone.

Her mother scolded her.

"I'm just saying!" the girl said, looking at her brother.

"Like you guys are going to eat everything," replied the 12-year-old boy, closing the lid of the basket again, "you're going to snog all the time. Frankly, it's disgusting."

"You don't understand anything, Samuel. Don't you have homework to do?" she asked, but she felt her cheeks burning. Her middle brother wasn't so wrong after all.

"Yes, but I'd rather bother you."

"Mom, have you considered giving him up for adoption?"

Samuel stuck his tongue out at his sister before grabbing his book and pencil "No one would want me. I'd make life impossible for whoever adopts me just to come back here and bother you. Although I'd rather be adopted than have to listen to you 'oh, Alfie! I love you, Alfie! You're my love, Alfie! Oh, kiss me, Alfie!' " Samuel had clasped his hands together under his chin as he blinked repeatedly, tuning his voice to imitate his sister.

Mary Coldwell, the mother, could do nothing but laugh. So did little seven-year-old Louis.

"Go to hell, Sam," Rose said, wagging her middle finger at him.

The boy didn't respond, but kept smiling. Teasing his big sister was definitely his favourite pastime. In the not too distant future, he would defend her with all his heart, but now he was happy to make her life miserable.

Earlier that morning, Alfie had given her several plates of different cakes that he had baked the night before. She had carefully put them away in the basket her mother had given her. Rose put in two canteens of juice and some fruit she had stolen from the Evert mansion where she worked.

Before putting on her bonnet and finally leaving, she walked over to her little brother and wiped his face, "Don't make Mom mad, okay, Lou? And if Samuel provokes you, don't listen to him."

"I'm right here! I can hear you, you know?" Samuel looked up from his book to look at her.

"I know, that's why I told him." Then he turned to the youngest of the family again, "Did you hear me, Lou?"

"Yes, Rosie. Have a nice time with Alfie."

"Thanks, Lou." Rose then turned back to Samuel, "And you, keep an eye on the house, ok? Don't break anything and if you're going to play outside do it carefully."

Then, opening the basket she took out an apple pie and handed it to him. "Share it with Louis. And with mum, ok?

Samuel's smile was huge and Rose couldn't help but smile too. Her teenage brother was a nightmare, but she loved him. Finally she walked over to her mother and hugged her, "You'll be alright?"

"Yes. Go with Alfie and enjoy the nice day, you deserve it, dear," Mary said to her, as she hugged her, she whispered "take care of yourself...and tell him to look after you. We don't want a mini Solomons just yet."

"Mum!" now Rose was completely blushingm

"Rose..."

"All right. Yes, we'll be careful."

Turning away from her mother and taking the basket, Rose finally left her house. Her mother's words had made her blush. How did her mother know? It had been just under a year since she and Alfie had shared their first night together. But she hadn't told anyone. Whenever they were together it was always at his house when his mother was at work or asleep and they were extremely careful not to make a sound. Had Alfie's mum suspected and told hers? Rose didn't want to think about it. How would she now manage to see Alfie on the few nights they could share knowing that his mum knew what she was doing? Rose blushed again. It hadn't occurred to the girl that her mother had been young too. Or that Mary Coldwell knew her daughter well enough to know what had happened.

Rose forced herself not to think about it. Alfie was waiting for her at the end of the street with a bag slung over his shoulder and a smile on his face. He gave her a kiss as soon as they were close.

"I had a morning to forget," she said taking his hand as they both started walking. "Samuel is a nightmare and my mother...don't get me started on my mother. God, I need to forget everything."

"That's what I'm for. Today, my beautiful Rosie, we will have a wonderful date that will make you forget all your troubles."

"That's all I need."

A man who worked in the same bakery as Alfie had offered to drive both teenagers to the countryside and would pick them up in the evening when he returned to the city. That way the young couple would have several hours to be alone and finally enjoy the day off they both had.

Having left the chaos of London behind them, he and she finally arrived in the countryside. A little over an hour later, the man called Charles stopped his cart.

"Wait for me by the side of the road before the sun goes down, Alfie. If you're not there I'll go alone and you'll have to see what excuse you can make to your girl's family," he warned.

"Yes, Charlie. We'll be here."

"Right."

Without saying goodbye, the man jerked the horses' reins and rode away, raising a cloud of dirt around the young couple.

"What a kind man," Rose commented, rolling her eyes.

"It's not personal, sweetheart. Charlie's grumpy with everyone. But he's the one who told me about this place. It's beautiful and there's no one here but you and me."

Alfie was right. Except for the local wildlife there was no one. The day could not have been more ideal. From cloudless blue skies to a perfect temperature, everything indicated that he and she would be able to enjoy each other's company until the sun went down.

Perhaps it was too perfect. Mother Nature had other plans for the young lovers.

.

The willow tree whose branches touched the stream was a perfect spot. Alfie laid the tablecloth his mother had given him on the grass while she took off her shoes to make herself more comfortable. Alfie glanced sideways at her as she walked over to the water and dipped her toes into the water which was clearly cold. He couldn't help but smile. The dress she wore swayed in the wind and without her bonnet, the sun reflected off her brown hair.

Considering that his father impregnated every woman he could find, including his mother, that he'd fallen in love like that was certainly a miracle. Alfie believed that part of his being, that he wanted to be a powerful and feared London gangster was because his father's rotten blood ran through his veins. But when he looked at Rose, he knew that the gentleness that came over him was because Svetlana VolkΓ³va, his mother, was part of him, too. And fortunately for Rose when Alfie stood beside her, the rotten part of Alfred Solomons Sr. that Alfie had inherited, did not exist.

"There are ducks!" she exclaimed, approaching him again. "Looks like they decided today was a good day to be here too."

He laughed "and I wanted privacy..." Alfie grabbed her by the waist and pulled her closer to him "I suppose they won't mind if we..."

"Alfie, please don't say it! My mother created a trauma for me today."

"What the hell happened to your mother?"

Rose looked up at him as he still held her waist. She could feel his fingers moving on her back. "She implied to me that she knew that we already... you know. 'We don't want a mini Solomons yet' she told me. God, Alfie! She knows! Now every time I look at her I'm going to be thinking she knows I'm sleeping with you."

"So what? This is the 20th century! It's out of fashion to come to marriage pure, sweetheart. Maybe the most conservative people still believe in it, but it's not going to last. It's time to stop seeing it as taboo."

"I don't see it as taboo, Alfie. You well know I'm all for women's liberation and that includes sex, but it's embarrassing for your mother to tell you that. Couldn't she have kept quiet?"

"You're a fucking treasure. I don't know how many girls could say the word sex without blushing. I'm a lucky fucking boy, ain't I? Forget about it, okay? Your mother just wants you to be okay. Come on, let's sit down and forget about it. That's what we came for."

She had to agree with him. Sitting on the tablecloth, sheltered under the willow tree from the sun that was shining ever brighter, the two of them began to eat as they talked and laughed. He was telling her about the problems the bakery was having, starting with the owner, surnamed Terry, who despite having given Alfie work for the last three years, still refused to give him a significant raise. And Alfie was the one who was in charge of serving the people and also baking. At one point they both started laughing loudly when they suggested that the old baker and old Evert, who owned the house where she worked, should become a couple.

"It would be horrifying. Terry's not bad enough to deserve Lady Evert."

"He's a fucking bastard. It wouldn't hurt him to be with someone worse than him."

"You're going to be worse than him when you're in charge of your... 'bakery'" Rose said, air-quoting

"I'm not denying it. There's only one way to keep control and that's for everyone to know who's in charge. But unlike Terry, I'm going to be the most loyal boss and husband of all."

"Lucky your wife..."

"Lucky me," he replied kissing her. Taking his face in her hands, she responded to the kiss and put up no resistance as he laid her down on the tablecloth. All around were the pie and a half-eaten piece of fruit. In that moment and in all the minutes that followed, nothing existed for the young couple but the two of them.

.

Rose was the first to feel a tickle that had nothing to do with what had just happened between her and Alfie. Still in his arms, she shook her leg to get rid of the sensation but to no avail. She wanted to focus on Alfie and his kisses, but she couldn't. Then she felt a twinge.

"Ouch!" Rose finally decided to see what was happening. She had several ants walking up and down her leg and one of them had stung her. She waved them away, that made Alfie pay attention too.

"Fuck!" the boy stood up pulling up his trousers and looking around. The cake and fruit they had left there were completely covered in ants. Not dozens, hundreds of them taking over the food and having their own picnic.

"Bastards! Yeah! You bastards!" he exclaimed, trying to push the insects away from the food. He only succeeded in making them cling harder and sting his fingers.

"Not the pumpkin pie..." she wailed. "Damn it!"

"Uh! Fucking hell! Look at the delicious pear you brought me... it's missing."

There was nothing that could be done. It was impossible to eat that and it was even more impossible to stay there. Alfie shook the tablecloth hard near the stream, hoping that several of them would drown or be eaten by ducks.

Rose had seen another willow tree and they walked towards it. It was less plentiful than the other and further away from the stream, but it was pretty all the same. Alfie was grumpy. This was not how he expected to spend the day with his girlfriend. Until the ant problem had been fantastic, including making love to her. But those cunts had ruined the moment after that.

Maybe now he could relax a bit under the new tree. He put the tablecloth back and they both sat down together.

"It's all right, Alfie, it was just a stupid pear and your delicious pie. I'm sure you can bake another."

"But we're not going to enjoy it here."

"No, but we can find somewhere else."

The boy nodded. At least they still had the honey and bread. She rested her head on his shoulder as they ate in silence. He kissed her forehead. Alfie thought he could be like this all his life he wouldn't care. When Rose sought his lips, he reciprocated. Now she tasted like honey. Alfie was ready to be with her a second time, if she wanted him to.

Bzzzz.

If it wasn't for those flies buzzing in his ears... Fucking flies, Alfie thought, stroking her neck while kissing her.

Bzzzz.

Rose opened one eye as she heard the buzzing getting louder and louder and closer to her ear. And then she screamed.

There were bees everywhere and they were angry. This time neither he nor she had any reaction but to run. Only Alfie managed to grab the tablecloth knowing that if he lost it his mother would kill him, but the rest of their things remained all under the second willow tree, including Rose's shoes. The two teenagers ran until their lungs ached. Alfie was in a bad mood again. But that was until he heard her laugh.

Disheveled, barefoot and almost out of breath, Rose was laughing, resting her hands on her knees.

"Oh my God! We're going to remember this day for the rest of our lives."

Alfie had no intention of laughing, he was still angry at the ants, the bees and now he also resented the ducks even though they hadn't done anything to them. But seeing her laugh made him start to smile too, and he joined in her laughter.

Hours later, Old Charlie found them cuddling on a tablecloth by the side of the road. Alfie was sitting behind her, wrapping his arms around her, while Rose was between his legs.

"Why are you barefoot, girl?" asked the man.

"We were attacked by a swarm of bees," she explained. "My shoes were left under that willow tree and under no circumstances do I intend to go looking for them again. Alfie neither."

"And you have another pair?"

"Yes. An older one and I can borrow another from my mother or..."

Old Charlie sighed. Young people. That generation was lost. It was he who went down to the creek to fetch them, he could bring Alfie's bag too. Not so the basket floating in the middle of the stream. The ducks had carried it there. They both thanked the man. He was grumpy, but he also showed himself to be a good man.

The ride back to London was silent. Rose had fallen asleep on him and he held her against him.

Alfie looked out over the landscape that was turning orange with the sunset. The willow tree looked smaller and smaller in the distance. The sun was streaming through its branches, Alfie couldn't take his eyes off it. After all, it had been an unforgettable day. Once again, she was right.

Alfie thought that if paradise existed, it had to be that place. That landscape with the willow tree whose branches touched the stream plus the girl sleeping in his arms, that was his paradise.

Perhaps that was why twenty-one years in the future, while his body struggled to remain in this world, his mind would transport him back under that willow tree to that day which, although he did not believe it now, had been one of the most beautiful he had ever lived.

The Wandering Jew - Alfie Solomons (Masterlist)

β€’ Modern!AU-Soulmate!AU (Alfie and Rose masterlist)

PART 1 - PART 2 - PART 3

Alfie Solomons is the owner of β€œThe Wandering Jew” a bed and breakfast Inn he has in London.

Or that's what he says.

His real business is more dangerous and illegal. It involves powerful, rich people, guns and a lot of money. Large sum of money. Poker chips and death.

But Covid-19 forces him to close the doors. Although he's not alone, a woman is at the inn with him. She's trapped in London and since there's no way to return home because airports are closed, she has to stay there.

Now Alfie is dealing with his illegal business online and with his feelings in real life because he knows this woman. Alfie never saw her before, but he knows her. From where? Who knows... Maybe from another life.

And Cyril, too. Of course.

The Wandering Jew - Alfie Solomons (Masterlist)

(When I say powerful people. I mean powerful people.)

The Wandering Jew - Alfie Solomons (Masterlist)

Now, this will be a series of independent one shots that will follow a chronological order, starting in March 2020 and finishing... I don't know when yet.

The first one-shot is almost written. I'll try to post it in few hours.

Also, I'm planning to include some of my mutuals OCs in this story. Because they did the same in their fics and I do want to follow their steps 😌❀️.

I have a taglist for Alfie x OC but if you're not included and you want to, just tell me.
