As written by a longtime friend of mine and I'm with her on these thoughts. My heart goes out to all of the American women that have been stripped of their fundamental right to make decisions regarding their health and body. No woman makes those choices lightly. These politicians don't understand the medical ramifications of this for so many women and Birthing parents.

If you think this cannot happen in Canada you are dead wrong. Conservative MLAs are already talking about stacking our Supreme Court in a similar fashion to gain the same outcome. Not just fringe members, but MLAs like Brian Jean in Alberta making these statements.

This is huge. Women in life threatening situations may not be able to get access to necessary Medical treatment. This is already happening in countries like Malta where they have criminalized abortion care and the maternal mortality rate increased. Women who have miscarriages that have not been expelled are dying from infections. They're dying from ectopic pregnancies which are not viable to begin with.

In Brazil women are being jailed for miscarriages. In Poland they're implementing a pregnancy registration, forcing women to register and monitoring and investigating them if something should god forbid happen.

This is not about the children. This is not about religion because there is nothing supporting forced birth in the bible. Jesus was a Jew. Jewish law dictates that the mother's life is paramount. Numbers 5:11-31 literally prescribed abortion if a man thought his wife might have been unfaithful. Even with no evidence. In Exodus 21: 22-25 it is very clear that a fetus is not considered a life. There are several other passages that state life does not begin until first breath

This is purely about controlling women. Suppressing women. This is about undermining women's strives in equality. This is about misogyny.

No women makes the choice to abort lightly. More often it isn't a choice at all but medically necessary. The vast majority of abortions are completed within the first 12 weeks. And any late term abortions are due to serious medical complications or fetal death. After 20 weeks, that women HAS to deliver. It is medically induced labor only done when the fetus is no longer viable or the mother is at risk of death. D and C is no longer an option. Yet these conservative or Republican politicians espouse otherwise. The uneducated malicious fear mongering is a blatant attack on women's health.

We cannot let this happen in Canada. We cannot in good faith vote for a party that would strip half of our population of our fundamental right to medical care and body attonomy. We cannot stand by and allow our Nation be dragged down by Forced Birth Extremists. They are not pro life, if they were they wouldn't be passing laws that kill women. That is all you do when you take away abortion care. YOU DO NOT STOP ABORTION YOU JUST KILL WOMEN THAT NEED THEM.

During some of my darkest moments fighting depression those times I needed something anything to get me through the next minute, hour or day, Waiting for the next chapter, part, story, episode, book etc That was enough even when there felt like there wasn't any other reason enough to keep me going until it wasn't so dark and I could find my way again on my own even if only for a short time. I found my support, my crutch to lean on to keep moving ever forward and to those that will never know how they helped me I'm forever grateful ❤️

Reasons to keep writing:

it brings you joy

somebody has to take care of the characters

you have a lesson to teach

it gets you through everyday life

there's people excited for the next chapter

to provide hope for yourself and others

if you don't tell the story, no one else will

it's a way of expressing yourself / what you go through

to make yourself and others feel less alone

people adore your writing

your characters would miss you if you left

nobody can take your place / write your stories for you

to leave something behind to be remembered by

to release your emotions

to inspire other people

I grew up watching original Law and Order with my parents. Started watching Law and order SVU S1E1 Mariska as Olivia was my favorite character for over 10yrs, I came to Love Raul Esparza as Barba, I know a few people that became Lawyers because his amazing character!!!! When he left half my heart went with him, I've lagged behind by half to a full season since but kept watching hoping that Kelli Giddish's and Peter Scanovino's characters would eventually get together! They finally do it's for in less than two seasons!!! Such a ripoff for us Rollisi fans! I don't know if I'll be watching anymore after season 24. I don't know if this has anything to do with Elliot's return and the cost of Law and order OC, perhaps more focus in the coming season will go to Elliot and Olivia but I'm over the idea of Bensler for a long time. I think Olivia deserves better after everything she's been through. I'm totally biased but would love to see Olivia and Barba together Barson!

Angst fics can help people come to terms with their own grief, begin healing, or give people that good cry that they need.

Smut fics can help people affirm and accept their sexuality. It can help them explore their sexuality in a safe way. They can also just be fun, and having fun is a drastically undervalued way to improve your mental health.

Dark fics can help people face their fears or process their trauma. It can make them feel safer and more secure. It can help them find their courage.

Fluff fics can give people rest and respite and comfort. It can give them hope that soft places exist and that maybe there is one out there for them. It can bring up their mood, which, if they have depression, can be a life saver.

And every fic people write makes someone feel less alone.

Point being, just because a particular thing doesn’t serve you, doesn’t mean it lacks value.

This is not to say that we have to consume all fic uncritically. Of course not. It is just to say that entire “genres” aren’t trash or lacking value just because they don’t serve you.

Fucking Beautiful! A shot with so many people moving about makes filming a shot like this all the more complex.
