Fundraisers to donate to (22/07/2024)
Siraj (@siraj2024): Siraj and his family have been displaced six times (and are about to be displaced for the seventh time) after losing their home. Currently, they live in a tent and are vulnerable to several illnesses (polio virus has begun to spread) as well as attacks. It is difficult for them to access drinking water, as it now requires walking very long distances, which they are often not able to do due to bombing. It took over ten years to build his house, and with your donations, he hopes to rebuild his life in Gaza.
@sheplaysbassdotmp3 is organising an art commission raffle for Siraj's fundraiser (details here)
GOFUNDME BELOW:

As of making this post, 9,058/82,000 CAD have been donated. This fundraiser is very very low on funds, so please do what you can.

2. Eman Zaqout (@emanzaqout): Eman is a PhD student, working woman, and mother of two children (Rakan who is 12 and Seba who is 10) with her husband Mahmoud. Her family has been displaced multiple times, and currently live in a displacement camp in the South. They lack access to necessities such as drinking water and food. She wishes to raise funds to be able to afford food for her family as it has become very expensive and they no longer have a source of income.
GOFUNDME BELOW:

As of making this post, 6,321/40,000 CAD have been raised. This fundraiser is very low on funds, so please donate what you can.

3. Amal Ashour (@amalashuor): Amal is a 26 year old mother from Gaza living with her husband and daughter Maryam (who is one year old). Before the war, she was studying for her Master's degree in French. Currently, after being displaced, they are in Rafah, with no other safe place to go to. She and her family hope to evacuate with your help.
GOFUNDME BELOW:

As of making this post, 15,862/30,000 Euros have been raised.
#175 in the spreadsheet compiled by el-shab-hussein and nabulsi.
4. Ashraf Alanqar (@ashraf-family2): Ashraf, his wife Widad Issa, and his son Bakr lived in Al-Shuja’iya, a neighbourhood in Gaza City. After the war started, he lost his home and farm. They have been displaced several times, and Bakr is suffering from malnutrition and skin diseases. He hopes to go to a safe place with your help.
GOFUNDME BELOW:

As of making this post, 9,915/20,000 Euros have been raised.

@magnus-rhymes-with-swagness is organising a raffle with several fundraisers, in which they are raffling a collector's version of the Time quintet by Madeleine L'Engle (details here)
Some of these fundraisers are very low on funds, so please donate what you can. Even a little goes a long way, so please do what you can, and if you are unable to donate, please share this post.

Hi guys some bad news.
Shahed will need to up her short term goal from 30k to 40k.
She will need to raise this amount by the end of this month.
This is due to the fact that what few gazan banks are left now after the destruction of the iof, they take full advantage of the dependence people of gaza have on them right now by demanding upto 30% in commission for the wire transfer of the money. @/fairuzfan has mentioned it before here in this post. Shahed only recently found out about this, and hadn't accounted for it before when she had originally set her goal.
This means that shahed will need upto $9k in addition to the actual fee she owes the travel coordinators (30k), as well as the 2.9% cut GFM takes for each transfer of funds.
I cannot put into words how much this has shaken me. Everyday i keep finding out new ways that the profiteers of this genocide have found to exploit and humiliate the kind and lovely people i have talked to here, and everyday i start to believe in the inherent good in people less and less. The depravity never seems to end
If you don't know her already, Shahed is a 21 year old who used to be a student at Al-azhar university before the genocide began. With both her parents having taken ill, she is the sole provider for her family right now, including her five siblings, youngest of whom is just a baby.
She currently trying to put together an evacuation fund for her younger sisters, who have hepatitis and are severely ill. They were recently removed from the clinic where they were getting treated for the same due to overcrowding and because there were more pressing cases to be attended to, likely because of the massacres that took place days ago and are still happening today.
Shahed is struggling to get them medicines, all while being sick and weak herself. Even after all this she still asks after me and if i am well since i told her i had recurring health issues, but she shouldn't have to be a nice person to fucking deserve help.
I don't know what to say that will convince you to take this seriously. Everyday i find out about some new atrocity the palestinian people are going through, Every single day they bleed in ways i never thought possible both literally and figuratively and the world still moves on like nothing is wrong.
All i see online is some new spectacle from the clowns that call themselves american politicians pervading every single conversation that happens here, and everyone seems to be so content to go along with the circus and let it overshadow all of the victims of the imperialism of america and its allies.
No i dont care which genocider comes to power there and no i domt care who you fucking vote for and no i domt care what corpo bullshit campaign line kamala fucking harris said today and how dunny it is to mock it i am sick of all of you letting that conversation take over what you should REALLY be focusing on and im TIRED of trying to present it to you as neatly and entertainingly as possible so that MAYBE you will find it in your heart to click the reblog button, if not actually donate.
But im still going to do it, because im scared you all will ignore my friend again when she needs your help so desperately.
Here is shahed's fundraiser:

Currently it is at $22,000 / 80,000
She needs to raise 40k by the end of this month i.e a week
Here are some raffles you can partipate in to help her raise funds- check out @journalsforpalestine where you can enter for as low as $5, and this other raffle conducted by @thethief1996 and @quicksillver for digital commissions for $10
@feluka is taking emergency commissions and so is @tortiefrancis for $10 and $15 to help shahed raise funds if you are interested
Please keep sharing and donating.
Not only that, please take this to other platforms if you have the reach. please ask your friends and family to donate, post this in your whatsapp groups and discord servers i am requesting you to PLEASE exhaust every option at your disposal time is running out. There is only so much i can do.
If we fail shahed now, it is her sisters' and her family's lives at stake. Please take this seriously, that is all i ask.
Its always needs to be shocking and awful for people to give a shit on here, as if the situation isnt constantly shocking and awful. Even if we have momentum now i cant relax because i know it will die in a matter of hours and i will have to come around begging again for people to give a fuck.
I cant even imagine the pain and humiliation of being the palestinian person who actually needs help and has to beg people to give a shit, and so many people will straight up report them as spam and try to get their account deleted.
And tumblr will LET it get deleted because they are just looking for excuses to delete and silence ANYONE who isnt white or happens to be a trans woman.
Do you realise how dehumanizing that is? That people will automatically assume that you are not a real person because you dont speak the right language? Because you havent been immersed in the ambiently american culture of this website enough to navigate it "naturally"? Because reporting as spam is easier than doing the extra effort of even listening? All this while theres a genocide going on by people who have assumed that you are not worthy of the dignity of being considered human.
Farha (2021) is a movie about the Palestinian Nakba that’s just been put on Netflix, it’s a portrayal of the violence experienced by Palestinians during Israel’s creation from the perspective of a 14 year old girl - to my knowledge, this is the first film about the story of the Nakba on Netflix. (If you don’t know the history of the Nakba - this post can explain it quickly)

The movie is being received with a lot of praise from Palestinians online, however, the movie is currently being review bombed by zionists and condemned by the Israeli press and there have been threats towards showing of the film by Israel’s finance minister, this is the IMDb review page as of posting this:

If you would like to help support this film and Palestinian history being portrayed, please leave a positive review, and if you have Netflix, watch the film. The story of the Nakba has one that has long been silenced and it’s so rare to see it even acknowledged in media, my family survived it, many others didn’t, what they all experienced was real, and it’s about time there has been recognition of it.
Good news! Firas (read more about him in my post here and @/riding-with-the-wild-hunt slightly better post here) has achieved his goal of 4,100 CAD to pay off his and his sister's university fees for their second semester! They will continue their education to become doctors in Egypt for at least one more year. Bad news, his fundraiser seemed to be completely stagnant since he hit that goal, which was 16 hours ago. But reminder:
HIS GOFUNDME CLOSES ON AUG 17TH.
That is literally just 3 weeks away. And when a gofundme closes, all the money is refunded to the supporters, which would practically put Firas back to square one.
Furthermore, his goal is 82,000 CAD (~59,000 USD) , and he again has only 4,100 CAD so far. Firas needs this 82k to get his 6-person family out of North Gaza. Which includes his father, his brother, and three children.
Don't stop now since he met this one goal. Firas' family still needs your support and donations to evacuate. They are completely unable to make any money after Firas' father construction company was destroyed via airstrike. They don't have medicine, food, water or electricity. They are in a warzone and are in constant threat of bombing.
Firas and his sister Nisreen becoming doctors one day was a source hope for the Muhaisen family. Let the Muhaisen family surviving and evacuating out of Gaza be a source of hope for the siblings as they work to be doctors in Egypt.
If you can donate in any way, please do. Your small donation can go much farther if you donate in a currency larger that CAD (USD or EUR, for example.) And if you need further incentive, @/marnota is doing anthro art commissions for 5 CAD and up.

And if you can't donate right now, follow Firas at @firasmuhaisenn (or his siblings, @nisreenameen and @hashem-fromgaza ), share their posts, share posts about the Muhaisen family, share the gofundme both on and off tumblr, and keep this fundraiser in the public eye. Again we have only 3 weeks.
