So in the book, the squip tells Jeremy about how movie actors use squips and it says, "How do you think they remember all those words?" and Jeremy's cool with it, but even disregarding the fact that squips are a recent development and people have been remembering lines for movies long before they existed, which Jeremy probably knows, Jeremy's a theater nerd. He's memorized lines for multiple plays just fine.

A little late, but look! A lovebug!
...No, I am not sorry for giving it a Butterfree face.

It confuses me so much why people almost always choose to save the baby in those hypothetical situations where either a baby or a grown adult dies. A grown adult likely has many accomplishments, such as working hard to get into a good college and get a stable job, all of which would be erased if they died. Not to mention, they likely also have a family, which they have to provide for, and children they have to look after. Imagine their spouse learning they have to work twice as hard now to support their children. Or worse, imagine there not being another parent and the children being shipped off to foster care. Imagine telling their kids that their parent is dead. An adult also probably has many friends whom they are emotional support for. But a baby has nothing. No accomplishments, no dependents, no one relying on them. The real, tangible cost of losing an adult is much greater. But people don’t care about that. They just care about how innocent this baby is, how much potential it has. They care more about the potential than the real losses.
