I think people also just don't like the fact that she's standing up to toxic celebrity culture by setting boundaries and stating that she doesn't want to be treated like a celebrity whenever she's not working.

Feel like a big part of it is misogyny but it's also just people having parasocial relationships and not knowing what to do with them.

I feel like 90% of criticism of Chappell Roan is just misogyny and lesbophobia. Like please just say you don’t like pop music instead of making a 20 page rant about how she shouldn’t be allowed to express herself and her lesbianism/queerness because she makes music you personally don’t like.

I don’t even like pop music but I can still appreciate how her music is a form of lesbian/queer art.
