It was one of those days you had all to yourself; no plans or expectations, except to enjoy yourself on this airy Saturday during the early days of summer.

You had finished all your paperwork last night. You turned off the wifi so you weren't tempted to look at your emails, instead turning on some music that rang out through your living room's sound system.

Yoongi had it fitted in when you both first moved into the place, stating he needed some ‘good quality music speakers’ for you to appreciate his ‘good quality music’ on. Both of you had lived here together for almost two years now. You had your space to do your work, and he had his space to do his, but the bedroom was a special room of the house you both shared, and when his schedule allowed him to be in the city, this is where you'd spend all your nights together.

For now, today was about you. You made yourself a quick mug of coffee before opening the patio doors, letting yourself out into your garden. The fresh air tickled your skin as you hummed. Carefully, you took out your easel and canvas from the store shed and set up your paints on a rotting wooden stool.

The canvas was a paint-by-number Namjoon had given you as a Christmas present a few months ago, that you had never completed since you had lost the corresponding paints. It depicted a lion in its habitat, so you figured it couldn't be that difficult to complete it with your own colour paints.

With the background music playing lowly from the house, and the birds singing in the midday sun, you felt yourself getting drowsy. Your coffee was cold, and the summer breeze engulfed you as you willed to finish the canvas.

As soon as you did (a couple hours later), your eyes fixated on the old cushion swing in the corner of the garden that had come with the house. You stumbled over to it, fighting your own tiredness, before splaying your body across it as it rocked you to sleep.

"Baby... y/n?" Yoongi's soft voice breaks you from your slumber, and you open your eyes groggily to see his face inches away from yours with a smile ghosting over his lips. The sky is still as bright a blue before you fell asleep in your garden.

You reach forward to close the gap between you and your boyfriend, your hands cupping his face as you kiss him softly. He pulls away shortly, "Hi. Your work looks beautiful."

You giggle when you see coloured fingerprints of paint littering his cheeks, looking down at your hands to see the same colours. You press your index finger to his nose as he squirms, finishing him off with a touch of red, "Thank you, Yoongi."

He lifts you off the swing, "You did it yourself?"

You laugh lightly, curling into his arms, "It's a paint-by-number."

"It's beautiful," he rubs his cheek on yours and you squeal at the feeling of cold paint on your face now, but the warmth of him near you keeps him close. ”Just like you.”
