The fourth entry to my angel of death series (aka non-connected one shots where Harry is the Angel of Death. ..or basically Death-adjacent.)

But so thus, the Angel of Death was literally just going to be how demigods were for the gods. Which, fair, he’d chosen to do this, and to be claimed as one of Death’s children, however not literally, would be an honour. The other kids however wouldn’t have had a choice in that, having just been born that way, so it sucked for them. Man, the gods could at least be more grateful towards their children. He supposed though, with the small lifespan of a human, that it would do nothing but hurt to get close to them. But then what would even be the point of creating them? Well, probably because otherwise they didn’t have any believers and would fade, but man, no thanks for continuously defeating their enemies. That sucked. (he tried not to think about the parallels) Despite that, and many of his very pissed off thoughts, he was temporarily being lent over to Hades to get his children for him and bring them to the Underworld. And they also weren’t at camp. Yay. --- OR, Harry, basically Death (Thanatos)'s adopted kid, gets lent out to Hades for a task. To get his kids. ..And he may or may not run into a certain pair on a quest.

basically following the plot of The Lightning Thief, sorta.

Summary:

Lost and alone at the end of the world, Jon decides to try one last idea. It goes wrong, as his ideas usually do, when both the Web and the Spiral decide to interfere with what he's doing. For once the disaster goes his favor. Mostly.

He wouldn't have chosen to go back in time to when he was eight years old. He certainly wouldn't have chosen to catch Elias freaking Bouchard's attention before he's had a chance to do anything. And he cannot believe that his luck is so monumentally bad that he gets adopted by the man who wants to use him to end the world.

Jon has to figure out how to keep Elias away, while saving his friends and the world. And hopefully growing old enough that he can go anywhere on his own and be taken seriously.

I know I have issues with reading way too many time travel fics and that the repetition can get boring. BUT THIS IS DIFFERENT. Okay. Look. im gonna be honest. its hitting close to 200k words and is nowhere near close to the beginning of the actual podcast, like with tim and sasha and martin?? its not just your average time travel!! ITS. theres uniqueness. i dont know how to explain it without spoiling it. It does get to really angsty bits (also tma fics have this weird habit of adding content warnings at the end notes. who even looks at those and then scrolls all the way up or something?? well not me, idk who does, it just kinda seems weird to leave it as an end note when its a cw for a chapter..) that have kind of gotten me mentally checking out or something, but like. fdshuifhs. what do you do when a traumatized adult gets sent back to his child body and his child body kind of. yknow? just your average issue of communicating! and also a lot of issues. a lot of trauma. woo.

it was fun to read though? you do kind of have to do your own research if you want to do something more specific or want to understand why something is a certain way, etc etc-- honestly it was a little interesting to read about how font families worked? cause i didnt know how it was formatted and was afraid of breaking it, but its like. it looks for the font on your pc, and if it isnt there, then itll look for the next font, and then the next and etc etc.

very fun. but i also cant tell if its worth it. well, ill see when i do something painstakingly long like, say, formatting out a text conversation and suffering when i do something wrong like a dumbass lmfao.

ive had this stuck in my brain for a LONg time. cause so like. cause people can not be interested in it themselves but say, like to make their partner feel good, or enjoy the emotional closeness of it? or maybe even not be interested in it themselves, or have a desire to, but willing to do it for their partner (okay that sounds wrong. but like. neutral i mean. not actively pursuing it, but arent repulsed by it either i mean, and thus wouldnt mind doing it for their partner, which id assume would still stick under ace spectrum?) this has been haunting me for awhile. i just needed to get this out here. its just some cute fluffy idea that's probably more them just acting normal, talking, yet the moment is a lot more intimate and close and lovey-dovey. dude they dont even have to move or anything like that, they could just sit (oh my god my sleep deprived brain said 'shit there' HAHA) there and be entirely content in each others arms, and itd be the cutest thing ever and 100% relationship goals but also in the event i ever desire to write this (doubtful because i generally dont write tooth-rotting fluff unless i have like an inspiration like that). i wont because i am terrified of doing a bad interpretation and that asexual doesnt even work that way in which.. yeah probably. i mean its probably best not to gatekeep or whatever and thats probably what im making it out to be but also like.. idk im just scared of being judged ig like 'nO THATS WRONG YOU IDIOT YOU BUFFOON YOU UTTER DUMBASS'

so im.. probably gonna leave. nsfw and jon far far away apart. because i mean i know you could just.. not make him ace. but like. ..no. that feels as cheap as turning characters trans just so they can have like straight sex. which theres nothing wrong with that in general because i mean 1. representation. 2. doing what makes you feel comfortable (like.. i mean id imagine if you had no idea how seggs worked youd have to ask a friend or something. and that gets awkward fast and thus its more comfy to just have what youre used to?) and etc etc but also haha it gets sexualized. so i perfectly understand that how some trans ppl might not be okay with that, just the same could be said for ace. i mean, there are two sides of a spectrum. for fucks sake im on the aromantic spectrum, it doesnt necessarily mean i dont feel any romantic attraction, but it still counts as on the spectrum, and therefore jon could be anywhere on that spectrum. he could be repulsed by seggs and find it gross or something, he could not have any desire to do so but doesnt have an opinion, he could not desire to do so but willling to do it with a partner, he could just enjoy making his partner feel good, he might just like fantasizing about it but hating it in practice, idfk theres a lot of different labels that nobody will know about, thats how it works, and things can vary a lot. and for obvious reasons no official source is gonna say what kind jon might be, its not even their business, which gives people a lot of creative liberty if they want to do anything with it. im just worried someone out there might have this stereotypical thought of what ace ppl are like and wrongly defending them, or maybe that the ppl themselves are uncomfortable with it or something like that. and i mean i cant speak for them, and heck maybe ill find out im on the ace spectrum who knows, but i still wouldnt be able to speak for them because i as a person, know i can feel and have romantic and sexual attraction, and that can be very different for people who dont have those same feelings or those who have no interest in it whatsoever. thus. to simplify it. my interpretation of ace jon is where he doesn't have any interest in it himself (or maybe he would be repulsed), but wouldnt mind doing it to make his partner feel good (there doesn't even have to be any penetration whatsoever), to do it for his partner, or to just enjoy the emotional closeness of it.

but im also kinda terrified im in the wrong here and this is a false interpretation thats not ace at all. so. yeah. just getting these thoughts out here.

The Importance of Trees in Myths (like.. potential 'whys' of the existence of world trees. but uneducated and just guesses)

Trees are basically everywhere, and even otherwise it's been thought of as like a special thing in many places. There are some trees who've been I think, something something planted in space? And then moved back here, probably fact check me on that because I can't remember it exactly. Or I remember in my old school there was this big tree in the playground (back in elementary) and everyone loved to hang out underneath and around it by the shade that people were devastated when they were gonna cut it down to free up space for more classrooms. it doesn't have to actually have an important history or anything, and could literally just be a place that a lot of people like to hang around.

Continuing on, trees are so small at first. And then they grow, and they grow big (you could say its similar to infants and adults), not to mention that they can last a really long time. They can live to hundreds and even thousands of years, and the thing is is that people associate old age with being wise (there's the whole thing about respecting elders. Not that I'm saying you shouldn't, although I know you could probably assume that me mentioning it means that it isn't a good thing).

There's probably a god out there that's a tree, and related reasons might be because of the age difference, or maybe the way a tree grows, because trees can grow into different shapes as well, and I don't know, there might be an instance where it grows to point in a direction, and someone follows it and it saves their life, who knows. Trees can also be seen as rebirth in a way. Or well, to be more accurate, it's like about with fall and winter, 'shedding your leaves'. Actually I don't think anyone says that. Uh. Think about it another way. Phoenixes will turn to ashes, and then later rise up from them whole again. There's a MLP (My Little Pony) variation of where they shed their feathers and look horribly ill until they 'die', burning to ash, before coming back from those ashes whole in their feathery glory.

And then turn it into tree. Where it sheds its leaves and almost kinda look like they're dead, and then later on when those leaves (I almost said feathers, imagine a tree with feathers haha) come back with spring and summer, in its whole basically 'rebirth' cycle. I don't know about trees enough to tell you how it actually works but also maybe, connections? Like with how big they are, and how their roots underneath expand vastly beneath them it could be seen as a whole, like, channel. Words are failing me right now but well, branches of worlds, y'know. Many branches above, and then many roots below and could technically be thought of as heaven and hell in its contrast, y'know?
