HARD-TO-FIND HURT / COMFORT ACTION PROMPTS.

a selection of some of my favorite underrepresented situations and actions for one of my favorite tropes! feel free to add + REVERSE to any of the prompts to change the situation and provide context as necessary. do not add to this list.  

CRADLE : sender picks up the injured / unconscious receiver and holds them close to their chest, carrying them to safety. 

GUARDIAN : facing down a threat, sender pushes receiver back with an arm, moving to stand in front of them and protecting them with their own body.

TENDER : receiver wakes up to sender caressing them gently; a hand carding through their hair, brushing hair off their forehead, a hand on their cheek, a thumb swiping under their eye.

SHELTER : seeing a threat barreling toward them (such as a storm, the shockwave from an explosion, or a building they’re in collapsing), sender holds the injured / incapacitated receiver close, turning their back to the threat to bear the brunt of the impact instead of the receiver.

FLICKER : sender thinks they’re too late to save receiver and begins to mourn them / sinks in defeat and grief, holding them close, only to find through a simple action (a cough, a twitch of a hand, a murmured word) that they haven’t left them after all. 

DELIRIUM : receiver wakes up to sender’s relief, only for receiver to not believe it’s really sender (that they’re imagining sender or that they don’t think sender would come for them) or that they’re finally safe. 

CONCEAL : both muses have been injured or have fallen ill, though sender keeps their injury / illness secret in favor of taking care of receiver. however, as receiver gets better, sender’s injury / illness worsens from lack of care, and they wind up collapsing, their injury / illness fully revealed. 

GUIDE : sender has been injured, but their skills are needed to help with the muses’ current situation (an escape plan, tending a wound, or diffusing a weapon, for example). sender has to walk receiver through the procedure, all the while trying to stay conscious. 

SAVIOR : receiver is at the mercy of a threat, and all seems lost, only for sender to suddenly burst in and come to their rescue, bearing weapons and all the protective spirit they can muster, to the relief / confusion / anger of receiver. 

LAST RESORT : injured / sick and alone after an encounter with a threat or a run-in with a dangerous situation, sender finds themself at receiver’s door, coming to them because they have nowhere else to go.

" i'm just going to wait outside by the car, okay? " she smiles, standing on the tips of her toes to kiss his jaw, giving his hand a squeeze before letting go of it and heading outside. all they needed were some drinks and snacks for their little at-home movie night, so they just made a quick run to the convenience store. shiro was paying for their snacks now and she was looking over the notifications on her phone while she waits, unaware of those around her.

agatha hears footsteps, assuming at first it was her boyfriend coming out of the store, but it was someone else approaching her. her gaze flickers downward, seeing light glinting off of metal. a knife. she freezes, her heart beginning to race as the knife is pointed at her, the stranger demanding whatever valuables she has on her. terrified, she can't bring herself to move or speak, much less hand anything over. she doesn't even have anything with her; her wallet and keys were at home and she wasn't wearing any jewelry. shiro was the one with the keys to his motorcycle, so she couldn't even give him that. " i-i-i'm s-sorry, i— i don't have a-anything— "

the stranger was getting angry, but before he could do anything, shiro placed himself between her and the mugger, his arm pushing her to be more behind him. agatha's trembling hands tightly grasp his, her heart pounding harshly against her ribs, her boyfriends' sudden presence in the situation managing to calm her only a little. it seems the mugger didn't anticipate her having company, especially not anyone as big or intimidating as shiro, and raises his hands defensively, quickly backing off. once he was out of sight, agatha wraps her arms around him, burying her face against his side. gods, she's so glad that's over. she can only imagine just how terrible that could've turned out had anything more happened.

when they asked if she'd like to accompany them to the upcoming livestock auction, of course agatha was excited and agreed. it meant she'd get to see cute animals! she called her boss and asked for the day off, which he happily obliged. she got ready for the day and met trevor there after he texted her the address, parking her car and walking up to him, her eyes sparkling as she smiles big and wide.

" i-i've n-never been to something l-like this before, b-b-but i-i'm so excited! we get to s-s-see so m-many cute animals!! " she was glad trevor was just, if not more so, eager as she is to see them all, her smile growing when they take her hand and lead her to the different areas where people were selling their animals. agatha squeezes their hand, feeling glad they're holding it. it was nice and grounding, helping to distract her from the large crowds of people and overlapping chatter and animal sounds. looking around, she gasps and tugs him toward where someone was selling pigs. " aww, l-look at these pigs!! a-aren't they adorable? "
