Emotion Creatures

Emotion Creatures
Yay!, 7 months hiatus and I’m back!
College final major project for my illustration second year.
Here I created a set of 12 creatures (or monsters) that each represent a different emotion that someone can experience during loss. 6 emotions show the negative effects of loss that someone can get dragged down by that are mostly self-inflicted. the other 6 emotion represent what can pull you out of depression caused by loss which are usually given by others.
There is a lot of dichotomy in these prints as both sets of 6 prints use the rainbow range. Each creature also combines multiple animals and objects that people associate with emotion.

The first simple postcard I painted for my summer project. Decided to draw a simple design based of a pattern I'm painting on a model I'm painting.

New Year Review
2016 was a weird year for me as I have done so many different things:
I finally got around to finishing my etsy and redbubble shop.
I won a miniature competition and came second in another.
I won a t-shirt competition and raised over $600 for charity.
Inktober was stressful but very rewarding for me
I also celebrated the last episodes of GBBO by baking my own desserts each week
This year has been full of ups and downs for everyone I’m sure we can all agree on that, I hope next year will be better.
Happy New Year!

Inktober: Day 9 “Witches Spider”
I wanted to try and make a spider cute which surprisingly hasn’t been done very much. Now I see why, it’s really hard making it cute and getting the proportions right.
I bought some new grey pens so now I have a range of them rather than one. I wanted to try them out so I shaded with them instead of cross hatched.
I’m going to use these pens over the next few days to see how I can use them in different ways.

mooooore inktober, running out of things to say

Inktober: Day 10 “Witches Cats: First Kiss”
Today I used my new grey pens again this time using more of a block shade and using it to “colour” the flowers in the back.
This drawing was very hard to draw as trying to make the positions look correct caused me to redrew my sketches lots of times.
I also drew some roses behind to see how the grey shading effect would work with the rest of the drawing. I think I did a good job overall.
