Lamp pattern created for college’s pattern project. I used everyday object to create a repeating pattern using Photoshop. I used lamps as they have enough variety to be relatively interesting and they are also easy to draw basically. I created three patterns (with the first being my favourite) to test different backgrounds.

Bottle pattern created for college’s pattern project. I used everyday object to create a repeating pattern using Photoshop. I used bottles because I could vary the different colour of liquids in the bottles. I placed a small rat on the edge to break up the repetitiveness of the pattern.

Scandinavian inspired pattern design created for my college’s pop-up shop. I was inspired by the rolling hills of scandinavia and some scandi pattens I found online. The pattern has more of a feel of Holland however because of the windmill on the hill. The pattern uses complementary colours and a white outline as I could only use two colours for the screen printing I was doing. I used a sharp outline with spiky flowers and ivy ends creating a more geometrical feel to complement the precise feel of the pattern inside.

Scandinavian inspired pattern design created for my college’s pop-up shop. I was inspired by the rolling hills of Norway and some scandi pattens I found online. The pattern uses complementary colors and a white outline as I could only use two colors for the screen printing I was doing. I used a runic text at the top to mirror the scandi’s connection to the vikings and their culture.

A larger Scale Scandinavian inspired pattern design created for my college’s pop-up shop. I was inspired by the rolling hills of Scandinavia and some scandi pattens I found online. The pattern uses complementary colors and a white outline as I could only use two colors for the screen printing I was doing. I used a more complicated and larger border round the pattern to combine two of my ideas into one. The longer shape gives itself more to posters and postcards than t-shirts.

The final design for my Scandinavian inspired pattern pattern created for my college’s pop-up shop. I was inspired by the rolling hills of the Scandinavian area and some scandi pattens I found online. I was inspired by Denmark and Sweden's islands and lakes to create a more flowing design for the water. The pattern uses complementary colours and a white outline as I could only use two colours for the screen printing I was doing. I used a smith text to compliment the smooth line in the pattern and the outside border.
Chocolate Goes to the Beach
Stop motion animation made for mum colleges moving image project. Created in with Amy (http://a-iamyzhao.tumblr.com). Showing a chocolate going out for a nice walk along the beach. Shot in one day and edited with windows movie maker. First stop motion animation using card puppets. The card puppets use a string hinge so the limbs easily move without falling off.

3D Paper Peace Symbol
A 3D paper peace symbol I created for my college’s paper 3D font project. I used the fastest method of creating a 3D object (origami) as I had little time to complete the piece. I used the word peace as it was the easiest thing to relate to origami and I thought it had connections to it as well. The symbols took a lot of work to make with me having to create a strong card skeleton and stick the coloured card on afterwards. The origami was less difficult to create however the lotus flowers had a tendency to split along the petals.

Zodiac Constellation Redbubble Collection
http://www.redbubble.com/people/firbetmakes/collections/613815-zodiac-constellations?asc=u
Finally finished my redbubble zodiac collection after much hard work. It contains all 12 zodiac signs placed on over 40 products
For this collection I made a normal silhouette set and an inverted set along with two calendar containing all 12 of my different designs either silhouette or inverted.
I may not believe in horoscopes but they make great aesthetics to base paintings and drawings around. With this set I made them using watercolour and them edited them in Photoshop so they would cleaner and more vibrant. I think this gave them a really different style and they came out really well.

Emotion Creatures
Yay!, 7 months hiatus and I’m back!
College final major project for my illustration second year.
Here I created a set of 12 creatures (or monsters) that each represent a different emotion that someone can experience during loss. 6 emotions show the negative effects of loss that someone can get dragged down by that are mostly self-inflicted. the other 6 emotion represent what can pull you out of depression caused by loss which are usually given by others.
There is a lot of dichotomy in these prints as both sets of 6 prints use the rainbow range. Each creature also combines multiple animals and objects that people associate with emotion.

The first simple postcard I painted for my summer project. Decided to draw a simple design based of a pattern I'm painting on a model I'm painting.

Painted a pretend half page illustration for “Armies on Parade” for a uni project. Came out looking better than I expected!

Stella Bunnies Window Display
Drew a design for a window display for my college. I really like how it came out. due to how long the original was I made a shorter and square version of it.

Oak Leaf Fox
Another scan of one of my paintings. Almost edited them all, but it’s taking way longer than I thought it would

Winter Berry Foxes Christmas Pattern
Some foxes I painted last year for Christmas. Due to how I painted them it’s taken me ages to edit them right.

Underwater Slime Girl
New painting of a slime girl on canvas board to practice making backgrounds. Excited to paint again with some new vigour.

Chernobyl Wild Dog
Small illustration I did for college as an article illustration about the wild dogs roaming around chernobyl descended from all of the pets that where abandoned. The article was really nice to read and since animals are my favourite subject o paint it gave me a great excuse to spend a good while on this painting (though he looks a bit more like a coyote than a wild dog)
