I’ve seen a lot of posts on my dash tonight about users who are threatening suicide, with other Tumblr members posting in effort to try to get ahold of them. I think you all should see this:
IF THERE IS EVER A TUMBLR USER WHO HAS POSTED A GOOD-BYE MESSAGE, SUICIDE NOTE, VIDEO, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT, PLEASE FOLLOW THIS POST.
1. Scroll to the top of your dashboard.
2. See the circular question mark icon at the top? It’s the third one over from your home symbol. Click on that, and a screen similar to the one in the picture will come up.
3. Where you can type in questions, the box with the magnifying glass at the top, type in the word “suicide.”
4. Click on the first link that shows up. It should say, “Pass the URL of the blog on to us.”
5. Type in the user’s URL and tell Tumblr admin that the user is contemplating suicide and has posted a message indicating that they are going through with it or will be attempting. Hit send! Tumblr administration will perform a number of actions to contact the user and take the necessary steps to prevent the suicide.
TUMBLR: THIS COULD SAVE A USER’S LIFE. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE SUICIDE THREATS.

I'd like to talk about someone who needs help, but does not have tumblr and is currently sheltering in an area with very little connection to the world outside Gaza. She has requested that I reach out on her behalf.
Her name is Basma Elghoul, a 30 year old mother of 3 -- Toleen (8 years old), Malak (6 years old), Kamal (4 years old). She is a beautician and owned a women's salon. Her husband is an electrician. And they lost every thing after Oct. 7th, their home, their businesses, their children's school.
They had to evacuate to the south and have been living in a tent for the last 8 months. They no longer have a source of income and their children are all ill due to the pollution of the food and water.
All Basma wants is to evacuate her children so that they can have healthy food and clean water and so they can live and get an education like other children.

Their fundraiser is incredibly low on funds. Their goal is kr350,000 SEK (close to 34,000 USD) and they have received very few donations -- so far kr1,650 (around 160 USD)

thinking about a giant merman who swallows an entire civilization to save them from sinking to their deaths (inspired by atlantis but it doesn't have to be atlantis). in exchange for safety, shelter and a reliable food source in his stomach, all their new king asks for is five sacrifices every year. these are supposedly randomly picked, but the city council will usually pick people they have a vendetta against or those who are "disposable", such as prisoners. the sacrifices are dragged to the centre of the stomach, the lake (which is really just the king's stomach acid) and thrown in. nothing that goes in ever comes out, presumably becoming nutrients for the king...
...but the truth is far stranger. instead of being digested, the sacrifices are sent down into watery depths. they black out and wake up with the ability to breathe underwater. there is no up or down anymore. all they can do is swim and hope to find something to latch onto.
there are many interesting things in this vast ocean. old treasures, sunken ships that are still sinking (no matter how hard they try, the sacrifices cannot find the bottom), the bones of various fish, and many other interesting things. they also encounter monstrous creatures that constantly hunt them in this dark abyss, ready to snatch someone up the second they're off guard. those who manage to survive stick together and start to accept their new reality. as soon as they feel secure, though, strange things begin to happen to their bodies. webs growing between fingers and toes, scales tearing through flesh and taking over, teeth sharpening to fine points. slowly, oh so slowly, they tear apart and reform into the very creatures they once feared. it's not death, but maybe it's worse. now all they know is hunger. the cycle repeats, and the king is satisfied.

i've said this to you before but i stand by double trouble being a really interesting pred. they already infiltrate groups of people and gain their trust, so why not pick up some snacks while they're at it? they could choose to eat someone for a variety of reasons and with how dubious their motivations are any or all of these could be true. perhaps they need to, or think it's fun, or get paid to dispose of people in a unique way. no matter the motivation, once they have lured their prey away and eaten them, they can shapeshift and slink away, leaving the remaining group members confused. if they figure out it was their "friend" who did it, they won't be looking in the right place since double trouble has taken on another identity. also, i don't know exactly how double trouble's abilities work, but maybe when they change appearances they can stop their prey filled stomach from showing up, since they can control things like their height so clearly they can change intrinsic parts of their appearance.
that was a mess of thoughts but i just think double trouble as a pred is cool man.
