As someone who hasnt seen quite a few episodes, I am SO confused about Ruin
Like you and Dana and a bunch on tumblr have been certain that hes lying about his innocence but the YouTube people/thumbnails seem to show hes been no threat this whole time so I have no idea what's going on
We’ve watched all of them and theres a lot of inconsistencies in all of Ruin’s stories and explanations that we pointed out before
And then how most of his memories were just so conveniently corrupted.
And then how he removed the tracker Moon put in him and it was revealed Solar was talking to an empty room the whole time as Ruin wasn’t really there.
And then the comment from Eclipse of how his body is made from arcade machine parts the same episode we learn that who built him doesn’t know magic, but can copy things well, and is from another dimension.
And then the next lore episode is Ruin asking for access to a dimension full of arcade machine parts.
And now we have Dark Sun telling Moon he’s a dumbass and should have been listening to Eclipse as the one pulling the strings has been planning and putting things in motion for nearly a year now.
And who has Eclipse been accusing this whole time that’s been in this dimension for nearly a year?
Ruin.
Literally it all adds up to Ruin.
He’s been playing everyone for fools like we’ve been saying since he was “cured”.
And this is without me bringing up how actual cured Ruin that we heard twice before didn’t have the British accent.
Or how Ruin could still read things in static screens that only LOOKED to be broken and staticky with more than half of all the arcade machines in the Fazcade displaying nothing but static.
Screens that Solar could ALSO read if he activated the AR code in his head. But he and Moon were too distracted by what they could find in the normal plain and Ruin conveniently calling the empty desk as Eclipse kidnapped him happened at just the right moment to end their search before that idea could enter their heads.
i just reread TSOA and THEN I read a depressing patrochilles fanfic and now I'm going to make it EVERYONES problem!

im so sad about it tho because he was one of my fav youtubers and streamers and my fav band is/was lovejoy.
this is disgusting what he has done.
as much as i love/loved his work this is just unacceptable and i don't know how people can support him.
im so sorry for all of the pain and trauma that all of the victims have suffered through.
well done to all the people speaking out about it and not defending him.
its so sad and i genuinely can believe this has happened. i wish none of it happened in the first place for anyone's sake.

i hope all victims are at least in a safe space physically and mentally.

Even in the dead of night Zack could clearly see the blood pouring down Malachite's arm.
The operant odour of copper sat crisp on the frosty air. It chilled Zack down to his bones, despite wearing the old adventures much too large coat.
He could barely breathe as the voice of the attacker called out their demands "surrender Malachite, give up that thing and all this will be over"
Zack flinched at being called a thing
However Malachite not even blinking responded "As long as I'm breathing the boy will be free"
There was a flash as the injured man reclaimed his fallen sword calling out his finale words to the one he was fighting for "RUN ZACK, RUN!"
and run he did
Hey @its-kall-the-clown I hope this better answers your question on what happened between Zack and the old adventurer. 😭 I wanted this done quicker but I got impatient.
The thing I hate most about fairy tail is that they threw away interesting platonic relationships that could have been explored so well just to shoe in more content of the romantic relationships. The reason I hate the m*vis ship so much (besides the obvious p*dophillia) is because it took so much away from what could have been a really interesting relationship dynamic between Zeref and Natsu and made his death super unsatisfying. The fact that Zeref and Mavis died because "they loved each other too much" was bad enough as an ending for Zeref but the real thing that frustrated me was that Natsu just leaves Mavis to finish off the only biological family he has left and neither he nor Zeref seem to have a second thought about it. It makes Zeref's origin feel really weak in that even though he sacrificed so much to bring back his brother neither of them seem to really have any emotions regarding each other. Personally, I'm always a big fan of when a story's ending has some connection with the begging so when Zeref's story started with the relationship between him and Natsu only to end with the relationship between him and Mavis it felt like the beginning was just thrown away to give way for a romantic relationship.

You have hit the nail on the head. Not just with Zervis, but with all the romantic relationships we're fed in the series. Fairy Tail's biggest flaw, is that it sets up multiple, genuine, interesting platonic relationships, and then threw them out the window midway through the series for the sake of romantic relationships that were constructed much more poorly. Personally, I think that happened because so much of the fandom fixated on ships instead of anything actually interesting about the series (which makes me *dry heaves* fucking allo people) so Mashima put more focus on them to cater to his fans.
Because, like you're pointing out with Zervis, it makes so much more sense for Natsu to be Zeref's most important relationship. Narratively. Also, it's just far more satisfying. Not just for Zeref, but Mavis's storyline also felt incomplete and cheap because of that (the focus should have been on her relationships to Zera, Yuri, Warrod, and Precht, not Zeref. And during the Alvarez arc, since most of them were dead, it should have been about protecting the guild she worked so hard to create, again, not her horrible relationship to Zeref).
It's not just Zervis we see this with though. The fact that Gray's character development changed to revolve around Juvia towards the end when he didn't even actually like her, rather than Erza, Natsu, or Lucy, you know, his fucking team. The fact that Erza became all about wanting to help fix Jellal as her main motivator. Natsu and Lucy I'm more okay with because they are friends, but I will say, I think it's wonky that it's specifically because of Lucy that all the END stuff happens, I think Zeref should have been the one to trigger it. Even Gajeel and Levy get the unfortunate treatment of only existing because of each other, which sucks, especially considering the potential they had at the beginning of the series.
But yeah no, as they are presented in canon, the romantic relationships are a goddamn scourge on Fairy Tail, and the series would be so much better without them, or at the least, they should have remained in the background rather than the forefront.
