Moments

It’s taken me 35 years to figure this out, but I think the way we view friendships and relationships is a little bit broken.

It’s like when we find somebody who makes us feel something really strongly, or powerfully, or amazingly we just want to hold on to that feeling for as long as possible, and that’s not really realistic.

Maybe instead of focusing so hard on holding on to the feeling, we should just be present in the feeling for as long as it lasts.

Life isn’t actually made of long-term commitments, it’s made up of moments.

I’ve had so many moments that should’ve just stayed moments, but it dragged out into long-term things, and then the magic was gone.

It’s okay if a friendship doesn’t last for 20 years, it’s okay if a relationship doesn’t turn into a marriage.

It’s okay.

If the moment was magic, it was magic, and that’s how it was supposed to be - it was supposed to be a magical moment.

The universe is an ongoing explosion.

That's where you live.

In an explosion.

Also, we absolutely don't know what living is.

Sometimes atoms arranged in a certain way just get very haunted.

That's us.

When an explosion explodes hard enough, dust wakes up and thinks about itself.

And then writes about it.
