actually since sherlock holmes is in the public domain there is nothing preventing all you fanfic writers from publishing & selling. i want someone to traditionally publish a new collection of mystery stories where holmes & watson are canonically banging

i'm not even in this fandom and i can't stop CACKLING
actually if someone does this for real i will absolutely write a fanfic just for the occasion
not a smut thing just a sherlock holmes mystery story. i always meant to get back into mystery writing that would be fun
also it will forever annoy me that in the books Holmes is weird but not like. an asshole
he's weird in a fun way! but he's not a jerk!
he's a pretty nice guy and loyal friend and he can be sweet and thoughtful and considerate
and then in that most recent bbc adaption he's just 'genius sociopathic asshole who treats people like garbage'
which is such a shitty thing to do to his character
and this happens pretty often to autistic coded characters. and i'm sick of it
people can be weird and introverted and knowledgeable about a specific subject and lack basic social skills
they can be all of those things and STILL not be jerks! you can lack normal social skills and still be a decent person! many of us are!
stop doing this to 'autistic savant' characters it is so harmful and also boring as hell
