Long Day (Alcina x groundskeeper!reader)

Summary: Reader is a groundskeeper for the castle and is Alcina's S/O. They have a long day and fluff ensues

You sighed as you trudged through the door, wiping your muddy feet on the mat. Taking off your coat and boots and putting them next to the door, you dragged your hand down your face, wiping off the sweat. The day was long, and it had started to rain that afternoon. You were muddy, wet, sweaty, exhausted, and sore. You slowly made your way to the den, a fire lit in the fireplace. Sitting down in front of the flame, your eyes became tired and you felt yourself become sleepy. The raindrops hitting the window and the roof lulled you into a calm state. Maybe you could just lay down for a bit in front of the fire to dry off...

Alcina had been holed up in her study all day, going through paperwork and filling out the record books for this year's yield for wine and shipments. She let out a sigh, taking a sip of her wine. The raindrops thudded softly against the window in a rhythmic pattern; Alcina enjoyed the sound of the rain, as it was quite calming to her. She heard the door open and close, followed by shuffling and thumping - her groundskeeper just came back inside. Needing a break, Alcina decided to go meet you downstairs in the foyer. As she made her way through the castle, she heard soft snores accompanied by a crackling fire. Alcina followed the noise into the den, where she saw your small frame curled up in front of the fire, fast asleep. Alcina chuckled to herself. It was always quite endearing to see you napping after a long day of work. She took a seat on the couch, with you not too far away from her feet.

You were awoken by footsteps and the soft creak of wood. Slowly opening your eyes, you realized you had fallen asleep in front of the fire. You unfurled yourself from your position and slowly sat up, turning to see your wife sitting on the couch with a book, comically dwarfed by her large hands. Alcina noticed you had awoken. "Ah, good evening, darling. I hope your nap was refreshing? Hopefully the floor wasn't too hard and uncomfortable." She said with a chuckle. You blushed. "I didn't mean to fall asleep in front of the fire like that. It was exhausting work today, and it rained almost all day." You said with a tired sigh, climbing up onto the couch and sitting in Alcina's lap. She gently wrapped her arms around you, cradling you and holding you close to her. She looked down at you, smiling softly. "Well, we can make our way up to the bedroom and retire for the night. How does that sound?" Alcina's nails gently scratched against your head, making you hum. "I'd like that very much." You replied. Alcina stood up with you in her arms, making her way up to your shared room. Alcina made her way to the bathroom. "Let's take a bath before getting into bed, yes?" You yawned, not really wanting to, but reluctantly agreeing, as you were kind of gross from working outside all day. Alcina filled up the bath and you stripped you and got into the warm water, sighing as you felt your muscles relax. Alcina helped you wash yourself, gently scrubbing at the grime that had accumulated on your skin. She then washed your hair. You leaned into her touch, the massage calming you down. After rinsing yourself and drying off with a towel, you and Alcina made your way to the large bed. Alcina gently placed you down on the bed, getting in after. She pulled the covers over both you and herself, switching off the light. You curled up against her, closing your eyes and feeling yourself drift off. "Good night, my love. Sleep well." Alcina gently placed a kiss on your head as she wrapped her arms around you. "Love you, Alci." You murmured against her as you fell asleep. Alcina smiled and closed her eyes, falling asleep not long after you.
