As Todays Scripture Verse States, At The Crucifixion Of Christ There Were Two Men With Him. The One On

As today’s scripture verse states, at the crucifixion of Christ there were two men with him. The one on his LEFT mocked Christ saying in essence, 'If you are who you say you are, save yourself!' but the one on his RIGHT retorted that 'We criminals are deserving of this punishment, but this man is not.' Then the man on the RIGHT said, 'Lord remember me in your kingdom,' and with that simple confession of faith, Jesus told him that he would be with him after death.
Like those two thieves on the cross, we all have robbed from God and are 'malefactors' of sin worthy of death and deserving of punishment. However, the Bible says that “Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death.” [ Psalm 68:20 ] and He provides that through faith in Christ to deliver.
The man on the right made that confession, but the man on the left cursed him that would provide his way of escape. All of us are on one side of the cross or the other.
Which side of the cross are you on?

Our national debt today is estimated to be around $30 TRILLION dollars, or to put it graphically, thirty times the one billion dollars of stacked $100 bills stacked on pallets in this picture. It is a debt that is impossible to pay back for our country, but did you know that YOU and I have an EVEN GREATER DEBT that we also can never pay back? It is the debt of SIN.
We all have a debt greater than the national debt that CANNOT be repaid by being a “good person,” being generous, saving the planet, or contributing some great work to humanity. There is nothing you can personally do to escape the debt and payment for sin which eventually will be your eternal death, however someone has already paid that debt for you, and all you have to do is 'Ask for MERCY, because His Mercy is More!'
Friend, the message of the gospel, — plain and simple — is this…
Christ died for YOUR sins and paid the sin debt that YOU owe, and like the master in today’s scripture verse, he showed COMPASSION, FORGAVE & RELEASED the man of the impossible burden of debt that could never be repaid.
Likewise, there is just one thing you must do in order to be forgiven of this debt, and that is ASK GOD TO FORGIVE YOU and repent of what you have done. Mercy means NOT getting what we DO DESERVE, and God is always merciful to all those that simply ask him from a sincere and contrite heart.
Be released of your sin debt today before the Grim Reaper of debt comes to collect. Ask God to forgive, and He will forgive…but he does not forgive unless you ASK.
Have you asked Him?

Kathryn Kuhlman was a powerful Christian evangelist who over several decades preached, healed and transformed the lives of many. She is regarded by some as the greatest female Christian minister of the 20th century. While her life and what she spoke over the years was remarkable, in her final days what she also spoke was even more remarkable and thought provoking. While hospitalized and accelerating quickly to a fateful end, she predicted not only the day she would die, but also the precise hour and minute. As she prophesized, it was at exactly 1:13 AM on February 20, 1976.
This got me to thinking that 1:13 AM is one out of 1,440 minutes that we all sweep through each day, and just like on the second hand of a clock, one of those minutes will be the precise minute of when all of us will pass from the here to the hereafter.
Unlike Katheryn, we have no idea when that minute will come. She was ready for that exact minute at 1:13 AM when an angel would meet her and take her to heaven...but how about you? She was a faithful, obedient disciple of Christ and her name was written in the Book of Life (the book of all those that are going to heaven.) Is your name in that book? If not, here is how you can be sure.
Commit right now IN THIS SECOND to confess to God that you want to have your name written in the Book of Life. All you need to do is ask God to forgive you of your sins and decide to be faithful and obedient to God from this second forward. When you do, He will heal your spiritual heart so that when your earthly heart stops beating in one of those 1,440 earthly minutes, the first heavenly minute will begin.
Right now, you are alive in THIS minute, and there may only be 1,439 minutes more until your last minute comes. Not only is today the day of salvation, but this minute is the time! Don’t delay because a time is coming when you will not only have a minute, but will not have a SECOND (chance) left.

If you look at this picture, we can all honestly say that our path along the road of life has never been perfectly straight. In fact the road is a bit wavy, and the question is WHY.
We have all had the experience of driving when something to the left or right side of the road catches our eye, and once we take our eyes off of looking forward, the car out drifts out of the lane and we start weaving.
This is a great analogy of what often happens in life. If we were to keep our eyes on God and follow His direction we would always stay in the centerline of the road, but as soon as we allow ourselves to get distracted by things that catch our attention that are outside of God’s truth, we start weaving and the road is made crooked.
Look...nobody is perfect and we all have and will make mistakes, but as today’s scripture admonishes us, keep your eyes on God and follow His precepts. When you do, you’ll never go in the wrong direction and will safely stay on your road through this life.

When I was five years old there was a very steep rocky cliff near my house. One day I sat on the edge of this precipice wondering how far I could scoot off the edge, so I moved down a few inches and all was fine. So I slid down a little further and it seemed easy to get back up if I wanted to.
So far so good.
I slid down a LITTLE MORE... but then the rocks under my behind slowly started to be a little slippery! Although I carefully tried to scoot back up, each time I did I slid a few inches more until finally I was going down the slope at a steady - then quick rate until it was as slick as a slide in the playground!
Fortunately I ended up at the bottom, crying hysterically, but safely winding up in an old man’s backyard terrified at what I had done, and wondering how I could get back up to the top. The kindly elder gentleman managed to pry my name out of me between my tears, looked up our home phone number in the white pages (remember those?!?) and called my mother to come pick me up.
Secret sins in our life are just like that slippery slope. While things may start off innocently enough and are 'So far so good ' like flirting with a co-worker behind your spouse’s back, experimenting with drugs, or secretly doing things you know are wrong. Before you realize it, it gets to point where you are in too deep - and just like being on that rocky slope - you can’t get back and it keeps accelerating until you keep sliding down to your doom.
Although you crash into the bottom of your slippery slope and it seems like there is no way back up to the top, there is a solution!
“Then I confessed my sins to you (and) I did not conceal my wrongdoings. I decided to confess them to you, and You FORGAVE ALL MY SINS.” Psalm 32:5
God is quick to forgive and restore you back home. His number is in the book of the 'White Pages of the Bible,' Call on Him, and HE will restore you to the top.
