If you are like the majority of people, in regards to thoughts about God, Heaven, what happens when you die, and eternal life, then your thinking most likely goes something like one of these beliefs and attitudes:

1) It’s all good! I’m a GOOD PERSON! I’ll go to heaven because God is LOVE and I am GOOD. 2) I’m not that bad, and God’s not really THAT mad at me anyway, so why would or should I go to hell? 3) So what?!? I AM that bad, but God is not THAT good anyway! Actually if this dude were to make me go to hell, it would prove what a &#^@! He really is!

But here is the truth.

1) It’s all good! I’m a GOOD PERSON! I’ll go to heaven because God is LOVE and I am GOOD. 2) I’m not that bad, and God’s not really THAT mad at me anyway, so why would or should I go to hell? 3) So what?!? I AM that bad, but God is not THAT good anyway! Actually if this dude were to make me go to hell, it would prove what a &#^@! He really is!

But here is the truth.

On the first point, No One is SO GOOD that by what you have done in this life that that they will have an automatic ticket to heaven. The Bible does NOT teach that. Instead it says that we are all are sinners, and we are all worthy of judgement.

On the second point, while you may admit that you have faults, your life is not an empty rap sheet that is 100% clean. We have all done things that are far worse than we care to honestly admit!

On the third point, admit you hate and rebel against a so-called “Good God ” who would commit any of those that don’t 'measure up' according to his unreasonable and dominating standards. If that is who this 'god' is than he is not worthy of being god or having my respect.

As always, you have the absolute right to believe anything you want. We have free will and make our own decisions about life, death, and eternity. But here is the thing - are you going to assume that your idea about all this is correct and that your ENTIRE ETERNITY depends on simply what you “THINK”?!? You don’t plan your retirement based on that, so why are you assuming eternity’s conclusion is a matter of what you think??

Friend, here is the answer - and it is TRUE and DEPENDABLE. Jesus Christ came to this earth to make payment for your sins, cover the eventuality of eternal death and provide you the way to heaven. All you need do is CHANGE YOUR MIND about the three attitudes above. By the way, the word 'repent' in the Bible’s original language literally means to “change your mind.” Will you change your mind RIGHT NOW about what Eternal Life can be? You can! Simply ask Christ to pick up the check for your sins. Tell Him you appreciate what He has done for you and confess that you are a sinner and take a repentant not presumptive attitude about your soul’s state. Then the only thing you will need to “Watch Out” for is seeing Christ saying to you, “Welcome Home Child!”

Let’s face it…if you wanted to become what people often ridicule these days as a 'Holy Roller,' then it would look completely embarrassing and stupid to your friends, family and peers to worship a 'make believe friend' like god. So if for some weird reason you were to change your mind and actually become a Christian, you would not want to do that because you would be embarrassed and ashamed, YES?

OK! I get that and that makes perfect sense. Christians appear to be a bit wacky in that they believe weird stuff like Noah’s ark, stories about a talking donkey, and Jesus raising himself from the dead. It’s perfectly logical to not want to associate with any of that, and if you did, you’d be ashamed to be associated with Jesus…but what does the Bible say about people like that?

In today’s scripture quote, Jesus very clearly says that if you are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of you as He stands before the throne of God and the whole host of holy angels in heaven. So even if you maybe/kinda casually agree that this Jesus/God/Bible stuff is probably true or mostly so, but you don’t have the time to get into it — or even more important — would be embarrassed and ashamed to admit it to everyone that knows you, judging by this quote you might be in a position someday that you may not want to be in.

Again, as today’s quote from the Gospel of Mark says, it is His WORD that people are ashamed of, and His Word says to turn to Him as the only way to save your soul out of this world and transport you into the next. Yes, this is a big step and from the standpoint of those around you will appear un-scientific, illogical and EMBARRASSING to associate yourself with what appears to many as a bunch of silly fables.

Friend, life is all about choices. Do you choose to follow Christ, regardless of the ridicule, or are you more comfortable going with the crowd? Either He IS who He says He is and promises what He says He promises, or he isn’t. No one can make that decision for you. So the question is:

“Have you decided to follow Jesus, or follow the crowd?”

Years ago Johnny Carson apologized and explained that he used a word on his previous show that was 'inappropriate' that was rejected by the television network sensors. He awkwardly murmured that he instead should have said “A woman is 'expecting' or 'Is with child.'” By the moral standards of the 1960’s and before, use of the word 'pregnant' was not acceptable to use in society.

While there once was a time in our world when we all had a basic sense of right, wrong, and decency about what was appropriate and acceptable, as today’s scripture passage says, evil people’s standards have shockingly and unabashedly become mainstream and embraced by many not only as OK, but acceptable. Since the Supreme Court rulings of the early 1960’s that forbid prayer and Bible reading in schools, as a result there are perhaps three or four generations that have no idea of morality and civility as what was previously regarded in the public sphere.

The grotesque picture alongside this message is from a January 22, 2022 ad for an upcoming movie produced by the Walt Disney company called “FLESH” and is just one example of the consequences of a society lacking a moral compass. This film is being marketed as a romantic-comedy with a morbid backstory about a young lady dating a plastic surgeon who discovers that her boyfriend is a cannibal that sells body parts to other flesh eaters. Hollywood movie reviewers have hailed the movie as 'a breakout hit' and popular movie rating site *Rotten Tomatoes* gave it a rating of 85 out of 100.

This movie — and it’s message about where we are as a society and how far we have fallen morally — speaks for itself. Just as the Bible has prophesied and Jesus said, the hearts of many will (and have) grown cold.

Friend, the only way to escape this madness is to turn back to the last and ONLY standard of truth and morality, and that is God and His Holy Word, the Bible. Turn to Christ today, and “Love Not (this) World” [ 1 John 2:15 ] before IT Consumes You.

An article on TheDailyBeast.com on February 5, 2020 quoted a statistic that was SO SHOCKING that it not only floored me but saddened me to the core as to the current moral state of our people, nation and world. that it not only floored me but saddened me to the core as to the current moral state of our people, nation and world.

They reported that in a nation in which 139 million voted in the last presidential election that 141 million votes were cast for the best pornographic movie in 2019 on the largest sex-video web site in the world. Also, according to this self-same article, these five young women pictured here are the top 'stars' of the adult film world. Not so coincidentally another news article on-line the same day touted proudly that porn stars would now be featured models in a major runway fashion show in New York. If these sex actresses are (or are not) familiar to you, please read on.

We now live in a world, as indicated by today’s insightful and prophetic verse that all that was once considered virtuous has turned vile, where being “straight” is out of step with the times while lewd thoughts, language, dress, and actions are not only accepted but celebrated.

While many that read this may not know or be familiar with any of these women, sadly some of you may, and if you do – and especially if you have confessed Christ as your Lord – you have followed the path of perversion from goodness above. If so, you need to turn now and REPENT (literally change your mind) and seek forgiveness.

This epidemic of a sex-crazed culture and thinking always leads to spiritual destruction. For those on this path, it will never satisfy and will lead to an addiction that will continue to spiral down lower and lower into the denizens of Hell if you let it. But there is good news...

Christ can and does deliver us from ALL sin – no matter how small, large, venial or vial. Make the decision and promise God that RIGHT NOW to never look at these putrid images again!! Change your mind, turn away from the bitter and turn to the sweetness of wholeness and holiness in God. Seek Christ, Get Forgiveness, and Receive His Grace.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus - not JUNK! It is never too late to live a sweet and not bitter life.

Are you one of those people that 'don’t need RELIGION' and figure that being a GOOD PERSON is all that’s required to go to heaven? Most people are. Christianity after all is a scam, a racquet to take money from people and churches are full of hypocrites anyway. Plus it can’t possibly be the only way to heaven or the only religion, right?!? And besides, even though you may admit that you’re not perfect, at least you honestly believe “I’m a good person” so that either:

God is not THAT angry at me anyway to the extent that he would even send me to hell (or)

If God DOES send people to hell, then he’s one cruel taskmaster not worthy of honoring anyway

Well, here is the truth plain and simple. The Bible says that ALL of us are sinners, all have sinned, and all are deserving of not being in Heaven in His presence, but this is the GOOD NEWS (literally the translation of the word GOSPEL.)

God has provided a means for everyone to go to heaven, and here is the Gospel plan in 25 words or less:

Jesus covered YOUR sins on the cross

Believe That

Ask Him to Forgive Him of your sin

Honor Him as YOUR Saviour and LORD

That’s it!! But the challenge offered to you right now is.... Do you believe and accept that Jesus is “The WAY, The TRUTH, and LIFE” - that He alone is the only WAY to HEAVEN, the only TRUTH on How to get there, and the only way to eternal LIFE? If so, do not depend on your righteousness but his, and accept His invitation to heaven. He is patiently waiting for you. You cannot jump the gap to heaven on your own, no matter how 'good' you are.

What’s the very first thing you do in the morning?

Do you grab your cell phone and plop down in your computer chair to check your email? Yes! It’s easy to do and not be aware of what we fill our minds with at the start of our days as well as continuing to our minds for the rest of the day and night!

What would life look like instead if you filled each morning first with God? When you do, the rest of your day will look different! Your mind will be renewed with peace, joy and hope instead of anger or stress.

When you spend time with God and being in His Word it puts everything into a true perspective. Your soul will be filled, your mind refreshed and renewed, and your stress can be replaced with His peace. The good news is that you have the power to choose when you are intentional with your time.

God’s REWARD is waiting for you. Open up the present by being in the present and opening His Present - the REWARD of HIS WORD to you.
