When you realize you can make lame jokes with your cryptidsona’s name

I just figured I’d do a map mockup of the territories before I post the next thing about these clans so there’s some context for where they are. It’s kinda rough and now that I think of it, super weird that there’s just a quarry in a grassland near a very scenic beach area, but stranger things have happened in nature (I saw a thing on TV about sinkholes on a beach and that’s some scary shit). The grass is higher beyond this area, which eventually extends into woodland.

 Coveclan territory encompasses the second cliff and a nearby rocky pool area which is great for finding both prey and interesting items alike. Their cats are surmised to have descended from kittypets, which accounts for their more laid-back nature compared to their dry-pawed counterparts.

Quarryclan territory extends outward into the field area, though they do traverse into the forest for better hunting sometimes despite not technically “owning” it. They’re drawn to the forest since that’s where their cats originated from, though there are whispers that more sinister things lie deeper within...

The two clans are fairly peaceful with each other overall. Their territories don’t actually overlap, which is likely part of it. They are also smaller clans and have less issues as far as prey populations and competing for resources goes. But they weren’t always at peace, just ask Ryestar about the leader that preceded him...

I did not mean for this to even get shaded, let alone any sort of background, but that’s what happens when you draw while listening to music

When you make friends with a cute, awkward Seregios boy and fall in love, but your dad is kind of a jerk and his dad is a horrible monster and also they’re mortal enemies so you have to keep your relationship secret BUT THEN they find out and your Seregios boyfriend gets kicked out so your family takes him in and your dad has a change of heart and lets you guys cuddle on the couch while watching the original Valstrax Wars trilogy on VHS.

Or, these are my characters Azuyan (the azure rathalos) and Ridgethorn/“Ridges” (the seregios) that I have not drawn in quite some time.

Also here’s the script I wrote up for this so I wouldn’t forget when I finally got around to drawing this. There’s a few small changes for the sake of fitting stuff in panels.

"You can read Twoleg language, Rookfrost. What does it say?" Rookfrost looks at the trash, silent for a moment. "It says Minecraft." He lifts a paw to the character on the packaging, then gestures to the gold tabby's coat. " This thing looks like some of your markings, brother." "Oh, maybe that can be my warrior name! Minecraft--something." "Well you're too young to be a warrior, maybe an apprentice. They're called paw. " Rookfrost stretches out a paw to emphasize his words. " So you'd be Minecraftpaw." "Minecraftpaw, Minecraftpaw!" the young tom cheers.
