I hate that the most popular aroace character right now is half of the time being shipped romantically/sexually with other characters. yes! It is a spectrum, there are aroace folk who feel romantic/sexual attraction, but you have Mainly Non Aroaces making the content, which feels a bit ehhh.

Today I come with a question, and it’s genuine so please don’t come with hate here.

I’m white and still young, and I don’t really understand the concept of « blackface », and I want to be informed about it to avoid accidentally doing or saying something offensive.

I have some bases, like it was white people blackening their faces to mock poc, but I don’t quite understand some things and have questions, like what is considered a blackface ? Does makeup counts ? I think it does, but if you want for example to cosplay a tan character if you’re white and want to be accurate, is it disrespectful to darken your skin in purpose of cosplay ? Is whitening your skin if you’re black the same or is it not disrespectful ?

Again, please keep in mind that I’m young and don’t experience racism due to being white (I’m privileged in this sense, I guess) so please don’t hate on me, my questions are genuine ;-;’
