I'm Overdue To Say This...

I'm overdue to say this...

To anyone who's used my art to train AI models, or is considering doing so: PLEASE don't. I do not consent, and It hurts both my feelings and my livelihood. I have no way to protect my work other than appealing to your sense of empathy and decency.

I just found out that someone scraped my twitter and DA to train an AI model. I'm aware that this is probs going on all the time, but it still sucks. No I won't link it, I don't want to start a dogpile. You know who you are. Decide what you can live with on your conscience.

Sorry if I came off as over-aggressive with my last post. I really don't mean any sort of offense or harm to members of Mob Nation.

I can't say that I really have anything against Mob specifically, since I haven't had the opportunity to watch MP100 in full (I tried to start, but the website I was directed to only shows you 5 minutes per episode before forcing you to become a premium member). At most, some of the comments on the poll feel a tad mean-spirited...but even then, that's a tiny, tiny minority. Every fandom has those people, too. So it's nothing about Mob. It just feels good to band together with others and rally against a common "enemy." Donnie, Mob, and Papyrus are all champs just for making it this far, and I hope this event does more unification of the fandoms than division between them, but I will still have my favorite of the lot.

I'm also very, very passionate about Donnie's entire existence. He's the first canon autism representation I've ever seen that I genuinely love; Entrapta from the She-Ra reboot feels kind of infantilizing to me, for example. Donnie's allowed to just...exist alongside the others not as a mere sideshow, but a feature presentation. And Nickelodeon ripped this beautiful, important representation from our hands through their abysmal handling of Rise. He isn't even real, but I feel bad for him and want him to have some success while he's down on his luck. This isn't an excuse for stirring the pot and getting overzealous, but maybe it's an explanation.

I can promise that I'll do my best to remain respectful to fans of the other competitors; there will be no name-calling, intentionally picking fights, etc. on my end. With that said, I will remain passionate to the end. I'll be rooting for my purple softshell boy and trying to recruit others to our side, no matter how impossible the odds may be.

I Am Not Using AI Voice Properly

I basically paid $100 for a text-to-speech program voiced by my favorite Vocaloid, in a language that I only have a very, very rudimentary understanding of. So far, I've used it to create monstrosities like this.

I have a feeling that AI Voice was meant for more professional applications, but I don't think dead memes will make the program implode or anything.

Okay, maybe Donnie isn't guaranteed to win yet, but maybe some propaganda will help. Good thing I've got some free time thanks to spring break~

Reasons to Vote Donnie:

He survived the Wheel of Doom. He had to put in a little bit of extra work to make it to the finals, and he succeeded.

Here he is on his way out of hell, carrying trophies from his Wheel of Doom battles. (I wanted him to look just slightly deranged, but I think I created Cocaine Turtle. Sorry, Donnie!)

He's canonically autistic. He's the only canonically autistic character left in the running. Who better to represent autism than a character who actually has it?

Here is confirmation from Ron Corcillo, one of the writers for ROTTMNT, that Donnie is autistic.

He has swag. Just look at these outfits from "The Clothes Don't Make the Turtle!"

He's just awesome all around. He's the smart one of the team, but he can also be short-sighted and stubborn. He puts on an arrogant and self-interested front, but he's gentle and loving deep down. He relies a lot on his tech, but he's still a capable and frankly amazing fighter.

And he absolutely loves his family. :)

He's out for revenge against Mob. We lost the semifinals by one percent. We're here to run it back.

This was Donnie's absolute lowest standing against Mob. It will be difficult, but I think we have a shot if we just band together and keep up the pressure.

Fun with a New Pen

I got a ten-color pen over the weekend, and I've loved using it so far. I wanted to show it off a bit, and I had an idea today.

I've been obsessing over mothy's Seven Deadly Sins series of Vocaloid songs, so I decided to draw all the sinners today.

Duke Cherubim "Sateriasis" Venomania

I want his outfit. Give me his outfit. Let me be fancy like him.

His song is catchy as all heck and is one of my favorites of the whole series (especially ryusouta's cover, holy crap it's good). Weird for a repulsed aroace, I know, but it is what it is.

Super sad backstory that I can relate to in some ways. I wasn't locked in a basement for all my childhood or anything, but I was teased for my appearance quite a bit, even by some of my loved ones.

Ate herself just to save her child and became the new demon of gluttony in the process. That's metal as all heck.

Her song has an awesome instrumental, and the lyrics are nice and subtly horrifying.

Seriously, we get it. You're royalty. But make yourself easier to draw.

Least favorite song in the series, but I don't hate it. I love ryusouta's cover of the Velvet Mix, though.

Another super sad story, especially with Servant of Evil for extra context. Who could've guessed? Poor Kagamines can't catch a break.

I used to hate her song for some reason, but I love it now. Both the melody and the instrumental are gorgeous.

Also has one of my favorite songs (no, I'm totally not biased toward the Internet Co. Vocaloids, what are you talking about--). It's super dramatic and bold, and the key change at the end really gives it--and the whole series--a sense of finality.

Didn't even want a contract with the demon of wrath, but hey, she got a cool pet octopus out of it.

Her backstory hits me right in the feels. Seriously, being ordered by your estranged father to kill your lover--and not even having any idea that he's your father until after the fact? Ouch.

And the moral of the story is: listen to ryusouta's covers of these songs. (No, but seriously, they're awesome.) And the Evillious Chronicles is a crazy series, but the Vocaloid fandom wouldn't be the same without it.
