Art Theft - Tumblr Posts
Reblogging to spread awareness for this. Absolutely shameful.
Now, I'm not one to start fandom drama but this shouldn't be left ignored.

arcana-oc-cassandra (now Vesuvian-elementalist) is an art thief and her tumblr is weather maiden of Vesuvia. She's been stealing art for more than a year now and keeps changing names. People call her out but she doesn't care.
Tldr:Weather-maiden-of-vesuvia is an art thief. Be careful.
IF YOUR ART GETS STOLEN
https://www.tumblr.com/dmca Go there, and do as the instructions say. When my art was stolen, I got the post reported, and it was taken down. Don’t worry, it doesn’t just take down the sources post, but it takes down all the reblogged posts too. Please give this a reblog, many artists out there may not know this is here. And remember, ask permission before sharing, or don’t post it.

Spread the word, I’m filing this under “shit we’re not putting up with in 2020 or ever the hell again”.
(Here’re my Redbubble links for anybody looking to browse, since the ones in these screenshots obviously aren’t clickable:) ✌️
► FANART —– ► ORIGINAL DESIGNS

A new tool lets artists add invisible changes to the pixels in their art before they upload it online so that if it’s scraped into an AI training set, it can cause the resulting model to break in chaotic and unpredictable ways.
The tool, called Nightshade, is intended as a way to fight back against AI companies that use artists’ work to train their models without the creator’s permission. Using it to “poison” this training data could damage future iterations of image-generating AI models, such as DALL-E, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion, by rendering some of their outputs useless—dogs become cats, cars become cows, and so forth. MIT Technology Review got an exclusive preview of the research, which has been submitted for peer review at computer security conference Usenix.
AI companies such as OpenAI, Meta, Google, and Stability AI are facing a slew of lawsuits from artists who claim that their copyrighted material and personal information was scraped without consent or compensation. Ben Zhao, a professor at the University of Chicago, who led the team that created Nightshade, says the hope is that it will help tip the power balance back from AI companies towards artists, by creating a powerful deterrent against disrespecting artists’ copyright and intellectual property. Meta, Google, Stability AI, and OpenAI did not respond to MIT Technology Review’s request for comment on how they might respond.
Zhao’s team also developed Glaze, a tool that allows artists to “mask” their own personal style to prevent it from being scraped by AI companies. It works in a similar way to Nightshade: by changing the pixels of images in subtle ways that are invisible to the human eye but manipulate machine-learning models to interpret the image as something different from what it actually shows.

So a free tool called GLAZE has been developed that allows artists to cloak their artwork so it can't be mimicked by AI art tools.
AI art bros are big mad about it.
Hey. Really important announcement for those of you on discord. Someone used my delivery message without asking for permission beforehand, including the art that I MADE, so I reported it to staff. I just had a conversation with THE LEAD DEVELOPER of the Virtual Diner bot, and he actively supports art theft, calling me dramatic when I was trying to get the issue resolved. Attached are screenshots of the delivery message that was stolen (which I got the person to change) and the conversation with the lead developer of the bot afterwards. This is bullshit. As cool as the bot is, please do not use it. I wouldnt be suprised if he supports AI art too.

This is blatent disrespect towards me and one of my partners who was trying to help. I was not asking for criticism of the art. I was asking for the issue to be resolved. I would argue that the developer was the one being immature.
Please spread this around. Tumblr, twitter, discord, etc. You have full permission to use these screenshots.
i’m watching an art theft documentary and they’re interviewing this art history professor from new york who was asked to go with the fbi to authenticate a rubens that had been stolen but it was a sting operation so they had to pretend like they weren’t the fbi, that they were some private buyer about to pay $3.5 million for it, and the fbi was like “this is a VERY delicate operation because you never know how they will react to what you have to say so let the agent do all of the talking, don’t say a word to anyone just nod if it’s the rubens, the last operation we did the guy in your position got shot because things went wrong in a second” and then it cuts to the professor’s interview and he says “i wasn’t going to fly down to miami to be a part of an undercover fbi sting operation to handle what could be rubens’s aurora and just NOT say anything. i was gonna have to ad lib a little” and then he tells the interviewer that when he & the fbi agent got to the hotel while he was examining the painting he started lecturing the other people, first on how badly they had wrapped it, and then about like how it had been painted, the history of it, what the subject was and what she was doing, etc etc, and he was like “i hadn’t taught a class on rubens in 15 years, so for me it was like being back in the classroom except my students couldn’t leave”
Not to be dramatic, but I hate Twitter/DA/Insta because ppl get away with stealing art all the time and the mods just have their thumbs up their gd asses but my art ain’t good enough for artstation and I’m still finishing school- so rip.
BTW, if you want to support an amazing Black artist, please check out rapizore and his project, Darkless. His main Twitter got wrongfully suspended by the asshole who STOLE HIS ART (zeren/redditgoldstein) and he’s been trying to get his account back since 2020. It’s really been tiring him out, so any support for his work would be appreciated.
I checked, they've also stollen @kingdicemrwheezyflowertor 's art as well.

*vine boom*
i have been alerted by @tttemeetsthestarskys (who also provided the screenshot) that someone has stolen my art, but not just My art.
not poggers.
I’ve also been told they’ve stolen from other people (including @asktrio516, @askthefamous8 and @lulubase)
The thief’s name is [pinktigerfff] and please report them or message them to take down the stolen art.

Seriously though this is disgusting go check out the original artist please

Hi! Please reblog this!
Some asshole thought it would be funny to sell my art as a poster without my permission, going so far as to edit my watermark out. This fucking hurts. Whoever is doing this you are a horrible fucking person and do not deserve the light of day.
Please help me here and get this fucking shop taken down. This is making me so fucking mad it's not even funny at this point.
Oh my cat! How such people annoy me! Why can't you specify the authorship, or even better, ask the ORIGINAL author for permission to use his works!? I'm doing a reblog because I've come across it myself when I didn't even have a normal drawing experience! It needs to be disseminated so that people know about the existence of such a thing. I hope that people who trade like this realize that drawing is not an easy process and you can't just pick up and take something that doesn't belong to you.
waving. hellooo tsams (and even general dca) community!!! i have found an art thief on pinterest, and would greatly appreciate some help getting their stuff taken down :)
this is the link to said art thief's profile
and here is a screenshot of just a small amount of stolen art that i could find by scrolling down through their profile. there's a lot of popular artists in there- huh? much more than just my art has been stolen by this person. (and obviously, none of what is shown is mine. or about 98% of it is- there might be 1 or 2 of my drawings in here lmao)

so, now that we know about this- how do we fix it? how do we get this person's blog taken down? here's some step-by-step instructions of what to do!

click this button right here

select "report" (there's also a "block" option, which is up to you whether or not to use after you report)

select whichever one applies to you!! for the second one, you gotta *find* the art piece they stole from you, copy its link from the pinterest post, and then go through a rather annoying process to get it taken down, but it'll be worth it to get rid of this person. but, if you really don't wanna go through all that though (which is completely fair, its annoying as hell) then just mark "spam" instead. You're not lying about that, either
and that should be it!! remember to always plaster your signature all over your art, fellow artists. thank you for the help dca gang, now toodles :)
So I've been seeing A LOT of my art stolen and sold as diamond paintings, such as by the thieves at Sparkle Studio.
Only the Diamond Art Club has official license rights to sell my art as diamond paintings. If you see it elsewhere, it's stolen, and please do not buy them.

Hey Disco fanartists
I found a few shops on redbubble selling stolen disco elysium fanart
If you want to find out if your art has been stolen too (and maybe report it), these are the shops I'm talking about:
LivedIn
smashtransitco
smashtransi
Attention artists, art theft!
Saw this post by rosebloom-arts and decided to check it out. Turns out she is not the only person suffering from art theft by this website, making profit from printing posters of peoples artwork without any premission whatsoever.
I saw i lot of artworks including my own and from a lot of other people!
This is the website. If you search you name you will find some of your artworks they are using. And here is the petition to end this website.
This is affecting a lot of people, not just myself and if you are an artist either by photography or drawing they are most likely stealing from you too.
So check it out and sign the petition, please.
!!THIS POST IS IMPORTANT!!
Someone on pinterest has uploaded my art without permission or credit.

This is art theft. Art theft is not okay in any form. For a long time now this has been happening on pinterest where people will share art that is not theirs without credit and/or permission. It is an issue that needs to be widely addressed and hopefully stopped.
Help spread the word, this is unacceptable.
ART THIEF mandatory post
The girl that was stealing my art and selling them on etsy?
she’s doing it again… I was thinking of starting posting my stuff again maybe but then i remembered the person selling my things and not only she’s selling handmade things of my art but the ACTUAL PIXEL ART AS PATTERNS

I honestly don’t know what to do, my anxiety is touching the roof and i can’t even stop crying, i’m a mere hairstylist and most of my money i save i spend on visiting my boyfriend bc long distance relationships are hard, it’s super stressing for me to see that someone is selling my stuff and not have enough money for a lawyer…
this person’s etsy store is longostitch and goes by longobird here on tumblr and it’s ignoring all my messages i’ve sent them on etsy, reddit and here
any ideas on how to deal with this would be pretty much appreciated… I don’t want to close my whole gallery because of this but I’m seriously thinking of doing that…
tl;dr: someone is selling my art and i’m having anxiety attacks and want to close my tumblr, please help
Gently trying to push to find out why Thisisnotawebsitedotcom took my artwork.
I'm still not like, angry about it. Just sort of confused as to why somebody from an official Gravity Falls website's art team decided to use my stuff when they've clearly got a huge amount of talented people on the project.
My header, as in A Return to the Falls:

The site's header, as in Thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com

Again, I can't emphasise enough - it's spot on. It's pixel perfect. It even has weathering marks that I added, which the designer has attempted to cover up. Somewhat tellingly, it's also got a Greasy's diner coupon which is a very similar design to my own efforts, in the same location.

I get that this is fanart and it's all a good bit of fun but I would have at least liked to have been asked. I don't even expect to get anything out of this, just an acknowledgement of 'we took this unfairly' would be nice.
I even get that this is something most fans would be super proud of, even be excited by - but this is mostly just really, really strange. Like it doesn't make a lick of sense as to why they'd use a fan creation for this.
Please do reblog. Maybe bring it up on Twitter. A few of my friends have already, just in the vain hope that Alex acknowledges it. If you do the same please just tag me as well so I can keep track.

Thanks.
uuuhg I just found so much uncredited mystery kids art on here (three of mine):
http://vk.com/wall-49586050?offset=0&own=1 http://vk.com/public60887037
It looks like there is no harm intended, just collecting all the mystery kids art in one place but still. I looked around and it seems like you can only file a copyright complaint if you sign up for the site and can only do it for your own stuff I’m not 100% sure. I don’t know if anyone has seen this before or not.
