The author of "Flowey Is Not A Good Life Coach" made a Fontc*st fic. Please do not support them and help me spread the information.
Okay. Uh... What do you want me to type in?
Well! Um. I’m not entirely sure, and as I believe I’ve said before, I don’t quite know how Tvtropes works, but, some things that I think could be added in are:
-Papyrus is actually capable of lying straight to your face (as in the x/o puzzle he claims needs to be solved to proceed, but he could actually just step over the spikes), and you might never notice.
-Some of the mysterious things about him, such as his room being the only room that has no music, and will reset the dev-room music if you enter while it’s playing; his being the only character to consistently speak without an asterisk; some of his bones being black. Oh, and his text constantly shaking just slightly, while the only other person to do that is the narrator.
-Papyrus is in fact aware of more than he lets on, and seems to be playing up his cluelessness a lot of the time, for example, when called alone near the lab he doesn’t question what it is, instead saying that Sans would love it, but when Sans is present, he acts as if he has no idea what it is.
-He brings up things that happen further on in the game, or in a different run, several times! For instance: in the first bridge-seed room, he asks why there aren’t “phones that can turn into jetpacks”, which is what your phone becomes when Alphys modifies it; he mentions Mettaton’s “eyes” in one of the elevator rooms, which Mettaton doesn’t have yet, but does have in his EX form; he says that the king will trim a hedge in the shape of his smile, which happens in the Pacifist ending; he claims that “this is the worst possible ending” in the Pacifist ending itself, because he didn’t get into the Royal Guard, which is something that happens in a neutral ending! (and also, it’s questionable how serious he’s being about that statement in itself, since his expression is quite happy there.)
-He seems completely fine with dying in the neutral run, and jokes about it - and the expression he makes while being hit is the same as when he’s on the date/hangout; even Sans drops his grin a little when he’s killed.
-Papyrus seems to be able to see where you are, at times; he says “that bag of dog food looks familiar” when called in the lab, and a phonecall in the tutu room that seems to have been removed, had him saying “Where’d you go? I can’t see you!” before trying to pass it off by saying that he couldn’t see you because you were on the phone.
………well, that became long. I hope this can be of use! ^^;
Since I’ve written so much, I think I’ll just post this one. The strange Papyrus things can never be brought up too often! :D
HOT TAKE but I think some parts of the fandom mistake the reason Flowey likes Papyrus SO MUCH and it’s usually due to a grave misinterpretation of both characters.
Fanon: Papyrus, Most Innocent and Naive Idiot, becomes the perfect plaything in Flowey’s eyes. Thus the Sadistic Evil Weed spent countless resets trying to break the former with advanced torture.
And it’s really out of character for me because Flowey simply isn’t sadistic for the sake of being sadistic. He started killing because he was curious. He wanted to know what happens next. There is NO WAY that curious, allergic-to-routine Flowey would find the screaming of a naive idiot entertaining. There is NO WAY that he would take any prolonged interest in someone he only sees as a naive idiot.
Here are way better things to consider:
Flowey recognizes his similarities with Papyrus.
Flowey is intrigued by the mysteries behind Papyrus.
Flowey gets mad when people treat Papyrus as if he knows nothing because he’s so much smarter than they think.
Flowey is outraged that Undyne lies to Papyrus about his prospects of becoming Royal Guard.
Flowey is in awe of how good Papyrus is at fighting.
Flowey is in awe of how Papyrus shows strength through pacifism. Flowey respects Papyrus for staring a killer in the eyes, knowing what they’re up to and feeling afraid—and believing in them regardless.
Papyrus keeps Flowey from going off the deep end by sustaining his faith in pacifism. Papyrus fills Flowey with shame by reminding him that he’s no longer that person.
You can come to Papyrus with a body count, with the dust of his family and friends on your face, and he’d still smile at you and tell you that you’re better than you think you are.
He never changes, even when everyone else does. When everyone else stare at you in shock and fear and disbelief and call you a demon, in stark contrast with how they treat you when you wear that plastic smile and try to fix all their problems, Papyrus always calls you a friend, always wants to be your friend, always treats you as a friend.
It’s the first time you don’t find something unchanging boring.
Flowey both hates himself more and loves himself more, because of Papyrus. Flowey thinks he doesn’t deserve Papyrus, but Papyrus loves him anyway.
How’s that for a change.
I feel like people forget the only reason everyone shows up in true pacifist is because Papyrus called them. Like ya, Flowey told him to get ‘em but Papyrus is the one who convinced everyone. And not just the main group, the ENTIRE underground. Say what you will about him, but you can’t deny that he knows how to talk to people and get them to do stuff

also don't forget he convinced undyne, the most stubborn monster , to befriend you , a human .
he knows how to deal with any type of people, even if he's lonely. that's how he's so smart socially (he's also has more types of smartness)
(also , i have a deep belief and trust, that he AND flowey planned that together, and papyrus knew flowey will "backstab" him , but what flowey didn't know , he'll also have a happy ending )

Unpopular opinion on Papyrus as a character? Or how he is portrayed by the fandom?
For an unpopular opinion on Papyrus’ characterization, I kind of want to see him having more emotions besides being cheerful? I mean we do see him get mad at Sans, and feel sad when talking to us in the King Papyrus neutral end. But I would love to see what he’s like when he’s really angry, and not just annoyed at his brother’s jokes. We’ve seen what Undyne and Sans are like when they’re furious, and it’s terrifying. I would love to see Papyrus being terrifying as well.
For his portrayal by the fandom, I want to see more protective Papyrus. The fandom really likes protective Sans, and some people also portray other characters as being protective over him. I’d love to see him being overprotective over Sans for a change in fancomics and fanfics, getting furious if anyone so much dared to threaten Sans. And also him being protective over Undyne, and even Frisk.

so i’ve been looking at post’s about papyrus mysteriousness.
so theres this thing, where he extremely forgetful, mabye he has some amnesia or something, right? well i can’t say for certain but lets go with that, in order to get to the point.

theres this post they made, playing as sans and here’s a peice of what he said:
as im watching another theory, about how its strange, how sans says “it’s rude to talk about people that are listening” which is one of the direct quotes from the gaster followers. then he goes on to quote his brother.
i also know papyrus is one of the only characters who doesn’t have an asterisks. the asteriks is normally associated with “gaster”

the thing with shyren’s lower body caught my attention even more.
sans says its important info, and to do some “reasearch” yet, and according to all the offical art of shyren, the lower body you see isn’t actually theirs. its another monsters.
this also goes to the fact that sans mentions is brother right after that fact. now some poeple thought this mean’t gaster is also his brother, with papyrus.
but the gaster and papyrus similarities are to… coincidental.
the amniesa, or forgettfullness of ones past, is pointed out many times, that i doubt its something to look over about papyrus. and then we have gaster, who was supposed to be “forgotten” by everybody. he was “erased”.
now who’s the only person that can’t remember anything about themselves? only bits… and peices…. shattered.. across… time.
i do belive, in some way, papyrus is gaster, but not ike the way you think.
just like shyren, one is the body and one is the mind.
mabye perhaps… when gaster got “shattered” he split into two seprate people. shattered means “phsyically broken into peices”, but they never specified HOW MANY PEICES. People are assuming he was shattered into many, extremly small bits. but mabye he was shattered into clumps, big peices. like how one of the goners in hotland says he’s holding a piece of GASTER. its a pretty big peice.
then again, he could just be going crazy right, so i must be wrong? mabye thats his own face. or mabye some random plot twist, where the body is the one being hold.
but this peice might be… “memory”.

gaster might be the so called mind… the holder, or jar, or safe, to keep what is…
the apperent “hopes and dreams” song that keep playing in my head as ITS IS JAMMED IN OUR BRAINS TO REMEMBER THE WORD “MEMORY.”

guys papyrus isn’t “just” gaster, he is a PEICE of him.
A PUZZLE PEICE OMFG.
Heh. You know, come to think of it… The entrance to Mysteryman’s room is eerily similar to the entrance to Papyrus’ room.
The door sprites are the same, just with/out decorations and one is greyed out. (Although, so are the rest of the doors in Sans and Papyrus’ house, so take it with a grain of salt.)
When you enter both rooms, you hear a door shut and all music stops. It’s the same door shutting sound effect.
And although this part is really stretching it, if you look at the shape of the rooms and where Papyrus/Mysteryman stand, there’s some similarity there.
…..And, actually, if you overlay the rooms….
It’s exactly the same size and shape, just entered at different points.
