That's so true, you shouldn't hate on others ships just because you don't see it. I have seen so many fandoms become toxic just because the fans go so hard on people with different opinions, it's sad. A lot of people leave them because they don't wanna deal with hate.

Okay i need to say this after all the shit i've seen and read in tumblr:

Shipping is not about erasing anyone's canon and confirmed sexuality or personality and it doesn't follow "reason" or "logic", much like falling in love isn't logical and just happens to you. You look at two (or three, or four, any number, really) characters and you just get this spark. Your Spidey-Senses start going crazy all over the place.

Shipping is about your heart's desire. It's about putting your beloved characters in a relationship just to see how they mix. Would they match or would they clash? Would that relationship explode in everyone's faces or would it turn into something new and wonderful and beautiful? How will it effect the characters who are in a relationship and everyone around them? You'd never know if you don't try it out.

No person is exactly like another. Everyone has a unique set of morals that was either drilled into their brain while growing up or one that they made for themselves. Everyone has different tests. This might work for you but not for the next person or the other way around and that's okay. We all get passionate about things that we care about, but seriously, chill.

A fictional pairing with 20 or 200 or 2000 or 20000 fanfics in Ao3 isn't in any way hurting you or your favorite character and it sure as hell isn't effecting canon. Don't like it? Avoide it! (Ao3 has the most amazing filtering system, so, put it to use, guys.) It's as simple as that. Don't be a control freak who wants to MAKE everyone see things the way they do and don't be toxic to the rest of the fandom.

Some members of the society are sensitive and just your one cruel comment can effect them badly and no, don't mistake "sensitivity" with "weakness". Just because some people are strongly in touch with their emotions as everyone should be doesn't make them weak. These people are rare shit and the world would be such a better place if there was more of them out there.

Don't like this movie/show or this character or this ship? Want to state your opinion? Just say you don't like it and be done. It's really unnecessary to list 200 reason why it's not working for you. (You CAN still do that, but why not in a private convention with someone who has the same opinion that you do? That's just better and doesn't have any negative effects on anyone.) Or you know, just rant to yourself. That's what i do. (most of the time, anyways. Hey, nobody's perfect. I sure as hell am not. Slip ups are normal.)

End of the rant. You can just ignore everything i said and do whatever you want. It's not like it's gonna cause me any pain. Or you can consider my rant and remember it the next time you're about to roast someone because they have a different opinion.

This very interesting post by @haleigh-sloth on how Shouto doesn’t voice his victimhood got me thinking - and maybe somewhere deep down he feels like he doesn’t deserve to view himself as a victim. After all - his birth was the final straw that tore the family apart. He was the masterpiece - the end goal that somehow justified the means in Endeavor’s eyes. 

It just stands out to me how Shouto - who fiercely asserts to the outside world that he’s not his father, that he’s different - when it comes to his family, he says things like this:

“my and my father’s prisoner”, “direct your rage at us”. 

He’s basically putting himself in the same box as Endeavor vis-à-vis Rei and Touya - like he’s sharing in Endeavor’s sin by the fact of his existence. 

And it’s just so sad to me - but I guess with Shouto having been treated his whole life as an extension, a property of Endeavor, it makes sense that these boundaries become blurry. A sense of self doesn’t develop overnight - especially not for someone who spent his childhood in extreme isolation, deprived of familial and social bonds, playtime and other opportunities that are essential for children to grow an independent identity.

So I feel like this could be a reason why Shouto has a hard time with recognising his own victimhood.
