The adult actually seems very rare from what you’re describing my guess would be a birthday clown-mime mix (very uncommon due to the behavioral differences of both species), however, it could be one of the many sub species of “sad clowns.” And the kit you’re describing seems like it could be a mix of a lot of things. My first guess would be a jester-roaring clown mix. Roaring clowns we’re popularized in the 20s and they aren’t commonly bred anymore but they do tend to live longer than other breeds so it’s not impossible that one might still be around to breed with a jester. However, I don’t think that if it was a classic roaring clown That it breed with a full jester, it might have been a jester ballerina mix from what you’re describing.
You might have a very difficult time due to these clowns care needs and usually I wouldn’t suggest taking them in however, if you feel they bonded to you, I recommend going to your local clown support group and looking for more IRL advice there.
HELP! Clown husbandry!
I have recently found a clown that was was abandoned by a railroad, my first thought was a train clown, but when I went up to it looked more like a birthday due to its coloration. I would usually leave wild clowns alone but due to the closeness to the train tracks I had to check it out, and I’m glad I did. When it saw me approaching it didn’t look scared but it was hiding something. A smaller starving kit, that looked to be no breed I’ve ever seen, with a leash to the tracks! I of course got them both off the tracks but I can imagine why someone would do that!
So right now I’m asking for help on identifying the breed so I can find out who did this.
The adult is very colorful but has very sad face markings, its frill is rather flat and holey. It has short boots and no leg coverings, similar to an acrobat.
The kit has feathers in its hair and a short cape. Very minimal facial markings, mostly around the eyes, and it’s frill is large and poofy. Coloration is more browns and whites with the occasional purple(?). It has heels with bows on them, akin to the subspecies ballerina. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Clown Enthusiasts. I, Snail, am making my very own encyclopedia of Clown Husbandry! This will be many pages long and detail the care and habits of many breeds. Please feel free to comment your own clown breeds and tips that you'd like me to add to my "book" (with credits of course) Please enjoy the first page while waiting for the rest!
This really needs to be talked about more, I personally have a tea cup-mime mix and I have to make a very deliberate effort to keep him away from my other clowns because he’s just not social. He doesn’t like interacting with my other clown breeds in the same way not to mention that most of them are a lot bigger than him making it dangerous if he attempts to fight them.
Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of people going: “My mime keeps fighting with my other clowns!” And it’s like ???? YEAH NO SHIT??
I can’t believe I actually have to say this in 2023 but
Mimes are NOT social breeds!
Like, you can’t seriously expect a mime to share the same tent as a rodeo or a jester without any consequence? Unless they are raised together, your mime is just going to perceive the other clowns as a threat.
Prolonged exposure to close contact with another breed is damaging to your mime’s mental health. It’s not okay. Look after your fucking mime.
