Lilac Meanings Through History
The Celtics regarded the lilac as “magical” due to their incredibly intoxicating fragrance.
During the Victorian Age, the giving of a lilac was meant to be a reminder of an old love. In fact, widows were often seen wearing lilacs during this period.
In Russia, holding a sprig of lilac over the newborn would bring wisdom.
Lilac Symbolism & Colors
There are many meanings that lilacs have that can best be classified by color.
White; Purity and innocence.
Violet; Spirituality.
Blue; Happiness and tranquility.
Magenta; Love and passion.
Lilac, the color for which this flower is named, is a light purple that symbolizes first love.
Although various colors of lilacs have different meanings, the lilac has always had a strong association with love and romance throughout history.

The Lilac Tree It is the fragrance of the Lilac tree that is considered magickal. The fragrance is believed to carry humans into fairyland and the supernatural world. English tradition considers the Lilac to be an unlucky flower to be brought into the house because it is associated with death. This was perhaps fear of the power of the fragrance of the lilac.
Lilac A favorite of the forest nymphs and where they are surely Pan is close. Lilac is sacred to the Greek Twins Gemini. Associated with the element of Air.
Magickal Properties: Lilac wands are good for magic dealing with romance, love, and passion. Superb when utilizing magicks for the realm of intellect, communication, mental concentration. Enhances sexual pleasure. Lilac provides protection during travel. When dealing with illusion magick, this wood is very adequate, as with the divining arts.

I decided to do some Angel Hare fanart. It's probably one of my favorite analog horrors other than Welcome Home. It's based on Artemisia Gentileschi's Judith Slaying Holofernes. I felt it might be somewhat fitting since both projects have biblical themes involving murder for the sake of freeing someone from another's oppression. My use of shading could use some work, though.
