This scene made me laugh so hard, I don’t even know why.

DAY 2: “Are you really flirting with me right now?”

Maddie frowns and crosses her arms as she glares at the man lying in the hospital bed in front of her. “Are you serious right now, Howie? This is the second time in a week I’ve had to meet you here.”

At least Chimney has the sense to look sheepish, Buck thinks, as he silently observes his sister yelling at her boyfriend and the father of her child. “I’m sorry, okay? But it’s no big deal.”

“No big deal? Buck told me on the phone that you couldn’t move.”

Chimney turns his head to look at Buck, who immediately starts looking elsewhere to avoid his annoyed look. “Your brother exaggerates too much, okay? It’s just back spasms.”

“Okay, then you’re on bed rest for a week.”

“What? Maddie, I have to work.”

Maddie fixes him with a stern look on her face until Chimney has no choice but to relent. “Fine. For what it’s worth, you look even more gorgeous when you’re angry.”

Maddie tilts her head. “Are you really flirting with me right now?”

“Is it working?” Chimney wags his eyebrows, hoping to improve his girlfriend’s mood. Maddie thinks about it before a small smile crosses her face. 

“Sure.” She leans down to give him a kiss on the lips.

The tension diffused, Buck laughs. “Boy, my sister has you wrapped around her finger, doesn’t she, Chim? Bed rest for a whole week. I couldn’t do it.”

“Oh yeah, pal? Next time you get hurt, I’m gonna sick Protective Maddie on you.” Chimney gets a smirk. “Now that I’m going to be in bed all day anyway, maybe Nurse Maddie could really comfort me in the proper way.”

“And I’m outta here,” Buck says, not wanting to hear anymore of Chimney’s flirting. 

Chimney & Maddie laugh. “That’s a good way to get rid of him,” she says.

Omgggg, what a great idea! Like, I was never obsessed with the Hunger Games but I did watch the series and read the books and they were good, but why can I see a whole AU fan fiction with many chapters set in this world!?!?!? Or what about Divergent, or The Fault in Our Stars, or Safe Haven, or omg my favorite book series The Darkest Minds. Ahhhh I want to write something like that now!!! My brain needs to stop, too many ideas and not enough time to write everything! 😭❤️

She has to fight, even if her heart is screaming at her not to do this - how can she kill another person? But there she is, crouching down in the darkness until she can’t hide anymore and she’s swift to reveal herself, knife held to the throat of a boy she knows only as Chimney, “You don’t have to do this”

They’d been in there for about ten minutes when the door to Captain Benson’s office swings open, revealing the newest member of the team, “Rollins, Fin, Han- I’d like you to meet our new recruit from just outside Philly, Detective Maddie Buckley,” Captain Benson says with an air of confidence that is both intimidating yet somehow charming. 

“Han, Buckley will be partnered with you now that Carisi is playing lawyer,” the boss lady announces, an amused smile on her face when she notes the gleam in the senior detectives eyes at the order, knowing the trouble she is probably setting herself up for by pairing these two together. 

The group exchanges small talk and pleasantries, the new partners inching closer and closer toward each other as they chat, a palpable undeniable chemistry in the air around them, and as Captain Benson retreats into the confines of her office a few moments later, eyeing the duo, she’s more than certain she is definitely playing with fire. 

As a person who wears glasses 24/7, I’ve never related more.

Reid: Isn’t it weird that we pay money to see other people?

JJ: Plane tickets?

Garcia: Concert tickets?

Emily: Prostitution?
