Silly Update;

Silly update;

Am I dead? No, you're not getting rid of me that easily.

Am I writing? Sort of, finding motivation is hard as I tend to focus more on reality or write with AI's bc that's easier.

Will I write again? No idea tbh.

Do you like shrimps? I most definitely do.

" Where are you even going at this hour? "

Sukuna glances up. He'd left the door to his room open, for no particular reason.

Meanwhile, Megumi glances at the many cursed tools he's got spread out over his desk and bed.

" M' gonna find the little shit. "

Megumi raises an unimpressed brow.

" You've been looking for her for a while now. It's futile. "

Sukuna had expected the reaction. Especially from Megumi. Yuuji would've asked him to join, but he wasn't putting his 5 minute younger brother in danger like that.

" Then I suppose I'm going for an evening stroll. Does that suit your taste better? "

Megumi blinks in annoyance. This is why he didn't get along well with Sukuna. He was stubborn, much like you. Megumi sighs, thinking for a moment before shaking his head.

" Should I wake Yuuji and Nobara to join us? "

Sukuna glances at him in question.

" That curse beat Y/N. And she's not weak. None of us have a change of beating this spirit alone. "

Sukuna and Megumi have a similar issue. They have a sincere issue in showing vulnerable emotions. This is probably the most sentimental they'd ever get with one another, and if you were here, you would be proud of them.

Either way, Sukuna shakes his head.

" We've beat cursed spirits in pairs before. The two of us will do. "

-

Megumi doubts the two of them will do.

His eyes are wide, focused on the spirit in front of them. He's not sure if they found it or if it found them.

" Heheheh. How cute. Two little Jujutsu students. "

The spirit is laughing, mocking them as it looks down at them from their elevated position.

Megumi's eyes widen, noting it's cursed energy. It was heavy, powerful. Megumi doubts this is a good idea.

" We should run."

Of course, his pleas fall on deaf ears.

Sukuna is smirking at the spirit, his eyes wide in a kind of rage that even shakes Megumi. He knows Sukuna was a force to be reckoned with. Sukuna's heavenly pact made him one of the most powerful people around, even without cursed energy. With Y/N, he was unstoppable.

" Where's the little shit?"

The curse raises a brow. ( Is it even a brow?), before catching on, its lips (are those even lips?), pulling into a grin.

" Ah, you mean that cute little girl?"

Something flashes in Sukuna's eyes. His hand reaching for his most powerful weapons.

" What did you do to her?"

It's Megumi who asks, ready to summon Nue while Sukuna clicks the Chain of a Thousand Miles and Inverted Spear of Heaven together.

The curse's eyes flash over the special grade cursed weapon. It knew it could exorcise it.

It knew it needed to avoid that from happening.

Nonetheless, it keeps up it's act, pretending to be as confident as before.

It crouches down, leaning its head on the palm of its hand as it looks at them.

" I sent her away. You won't be able to find her."

Megumi's eyes narrow, before widening, realizing it's cursed technique.

" Rabbit escape!"

As the shadows create a large amount of rabbits, Megumi grabs Sukuna by his collar  avoiding him from attacking. Sukuna is surprised. Annoyed too, but he trusts his classmate.

Soon enough, they're hidden away from it's view.

" It can teleport."

" What?"

" It cursed technique must be some kind of teleportation. And it's range must be huge, considering we can't find Y/N anywhere. We can't exorcise it. We have to capture it."

" So we're just meant to wait here?"

Takuma is the one asking the question you're all wondering.

Nanami nods.

" Yes. Our job is to exorcise a spirit if he misses it."

" That sounds awfully boring."

" We could help him. It's a group of special grades right?"

You try your luck. You never know how it will end up after all. That feeling of unease still in your stumic.

Takuma grins at you.

" Ah right, you're from a completely different universe right? You don't need to worry. Our Gojo sensei is the strongest!"

He's beaming, yet you don't share the sentiment.

" That shouldn't mean that he has to carry that burden alone."

Nanami's eyes widen at your words, studying your expression. Nanami has met a lot of people. He's never heard anyone say words like those.

" Is your Gojo the strongest as well?"

You nod.

" Yes. He's quite the same. "

" Ooeh, what about me? Have we met in your universe?"

Takuma can't help himself, curious about where you're from.

" Yeah. We've done a mission together actually. "

Takuma remains excited, asking you multiple questions about your own universe. You answer them as best as you can. After a moment, it falls silent again.

" Hey Megumi, where's Nobara and Yuuji? I thought they'd be with us."

He shakes his head at your question.

" Yuuji is on Mei's team.-"

His eyes glance towards Nanami subtly, like he wants to add something. He seems to decide against it, continuing.

" And Nobara is with Maki on team Zen'In."

You pout.

" There's a girl team and I'm not even invited?"

" Ah, don't worry Kamo! We're fun too!"

" Besides, you should be glad. They've got Zen'In's old man on the team. Do you have him in your universe?"

You nod.

" I think so. Never spoke to him though."

" You should be glad. He looks down on women. Maki hates him. I'm sure Nobara hates him too by now."

While the three of you had been conversing, Nanami checks his phone, subtly catching all of your attention.

" The transfigured humans who were waiting inside the building are now attacking non-sorcerers. Which is why we're ending standby and moving in."

Soon enough he's stepping forward, shrugging his shoulders off. He lays his jacket over his arm neatly.

You wonder where he'll leave it.

" We may be acting against orders, but if we wait any longer,  it might be too late."

He sighs.

" This, my other concern is-"

Both Takuma and Megumi take his words right out of his mouth, while you listen patiently.

" The other-"

" The other veil that keeps sorcerers outside, correct?"

Takuma glances at Megumi in surprise, animatedly moving behind the two of them as they converse.

" Why deploy the veil now that Gojo sensei is inside?"

" Either something has happened inside, or they were waiting for this moment as part of their strategy. What I can say for certain is that they wouldn't move without a plan. Y/N and I focus on the enemies who lowered the veil. You two do your best to rescue civilians."

All three of you nod in understanding.

And soon enough, all three of you enter the veil.

You wonder if the other teams were doing the same.

You're nervous.

You have no choice but to fight the disfigured humans now.

However, just as your team stepped a few ways in-

" Nanamin!"

Was that?-

" Nanamin, are you here?!"

That must be-

" Gojo sensei has been sealed!"

You lock gazes with Megumi, confirming your suspicious. This was, without a doubt, Itadori Yuuji.

Everyone's eyes widen.

" You three, change of plans. "

He turns around.

" We must join forces with Itadori at once. If he has indeed been sealed, it could spell the end for every human in this country."

Yuuji continues calling for Nanami like a child calling for his dad while you make your way over.

In fact, he doesn't stop even when you're right behind him, until-

" Oi!"

Megumi has to hit him in order to get him out of his his trance.

" Ohh- Fushiguro, Y/N, Nanamin. And... who?"

Eventually, Yuuji ends up explaining what has gone down while the four of you were outside. Or rather- Mechamaru explains.

Apparently he's been carrying him around like an earpiece.

You follow his story, yet you can't help but notice the folded black and white fluff to your left. Wordlessly, you take a few steps towards the cat, and pet it.

It purrs in response. Megumi watches what you're doing, but no one comments on it.

" Geto did it?"

" The thing that's acting as Geto Suguru, to be precise. Shibuya is overrun with curses right now. It's overrun by special grades, weaker curses, and curse users who follow Geto, as well as transfigured humans and civilians. "

" Then attacking through the subway from neighboring stations does make sense. But in order to do that, we need that veil lifted."

" This is an emergency. We'll have to multitask."

You can see Nanami thinking as you get up from where you were petting the cat, which has now run off. Unbeknownst to you, he wanted to keep an eye on you. He couldn't allow you to die, sorcerer or not. This was not your universe. Who knows what would happen to your own if you were to die here.

However, now that things have gotten more dangerous, he needs to be able to work without distracting himself. Gojo told him about your skills. You were nowhere near weak. You weren't the strongest either. Gojo also commented on Megumi's fondness of you. You'd be safe with your classmates.

" Some requests can only be submitted by a first grade sorcerer. I'll step outside and take care of those with Ijichi. In the mean time, I want you four to do something about the veil that's keeping the sorcerers out.-"

He informs everyone, while walking past you. Finally, he turns to Takuma. He's seated on the ledge of the building, the cat you had previously been petting now curled into a rice ball next to him, enjoying his attention.

" Kusakabe and honorary first grade Zen'In should be inside the veil as well. If you meet them, please explain the situation  and request for their assistance. Though that shouting earlier might've done the job."

Takuma nods in understanding, his expression serious as he takes in every word. He must look ul to Nanami to react like that.

" And lastly, I'm leaving these three in your care."

And then Nanami is gone. He's disappeared through the door on the rooftop.

Takuma is quiet for a moment.

" Ino?"

Yuuji checks.

" You guys! Before we start the mission, let me explain how serious the situation is. Starting with the two main issues with losing Gojo sensei. First! The fall of the Gojo clan. The Gojo clan is a one man team of himself. His whims and influences have saved many sorcerers.- Itadori, Kamo, you're one of them, correct?"

You nod.

" That's right!"

Yuuji looks silly as he confirms.

Takuma doesn't appreciate that.

" Take this seriously! All of those people are gonna find themselves in trouble, or worse, executed.-"

You swallow.

Why was the Jujutsu world so mean?

" The second issue is the collapse of the power balance. Those who have remained in the shadows because of Gojo will make their move.- If society is over disarray over the first, and the second will start a war, we will lose. That's how Nanami and I see it. And what do you think happens if we lose?"

Megumi looks nearly bored as he replies.

" At the very least, the age of humans in Japan would be over."

Takuma grins at him, tugging at his beanie/mask.

" I see you get the idea. Let's get going! By the time Nanami gets back, that veil will be destroyed!"

Takuma is visibly motivated, slapping a shoulder of each of you in encouragement as he walks past you.

" Let's save Gojo Satoru!"

The two of them, were, in fact, not enough.

Sukuna finds himself wishing you were here so you'd summon that pretty blade which was as light as a feather. He could swear the sword you kept with you was simply more powerful than whatever he has in his hands now.

He hisses as he lands on top of a building harshly. From the corner of his eye, he sees Megumi do the same. The spirit was much stronger than they had initially thought. However, both refuse to give up, and soon enough, they're charging against the spirit at the same time.

The plan was originally simple enough.

Get the Chain of a Thousand Miles wrapped around it, and force it to Jujutsu Tech.

The plan was still running anything but smoothly though.

" Two against one? That's hardly fair."

It's mocking them though, charging up a white ball and throwing it right at Megumi. Both boys' their eyes widen. It had been physical, close up combat up until now.

It's too quick, and Megumi has no time to avoid. Sukuna throws his Chain his way, and Megumi is close to grasping it- when the white ball hits him

First, it's a regular explosion at a decent size, nothing that would permanently put Megumi on the sidelines of their battle.

Then a huge soundwave follows, sending both Megumi and Sukuna in opposite directions.

Sukuna is quick to get back on his feet. He doesn't doubt that Megumi is too, unless he had landed harshly into a building. ( In which case he'll have to suck it up and get over it- Sukuna needs him.)

The spirit raises it's brow at him.

" You've got no cursed energy."

Sukuna scoffs, grinning.

" Yet I can still beat your ass."

The curse grins in response. It opens it's mouth to say something, but Sukuna is done with his shit. Mercilessly, he throws the Chain skillfully his way. The curse had been stupid, probably underestimating him as it had gotten closer.

Now, Sukuna tugs it closer, bringing them face to face with one another.

" Last chance before I hand you to Gojo sensei. Where. Is. Y/N?"

The curse's eyes, which were originally wide, turn into smiling crescents.

" Why don't you find out?"

It's smiling, happy.

Suddenly, a golden ring appears below him. Sukuna's brow furrows.

And then he's falling.

He makes a mistake, holding the end of the Chain in front of him.

Giving the curse a window to escape.

Of course it does.

And then he's falling again.

Eventually, he hits his face flat to the ground.

" Fuck's sake-"

As he gets up, he wipes a hand over his nose. It's bleeding. He scoffs in annoyance.

He looks up, studying his surroundings.

Wait-

Why was he in Shibuya?

Now more annoyed than before, he huffs, finally getting up and grumbling to himself in annoyance.

He turns to leave, intending to take the bus back to Jujutsu Tech.

However, he walks straight into...something?

He furrows his brows in confusion, glancing up, he only notices how dark the sky is now.

A veil.

Why was there a veil in Shibuya?

[ 19.58, parallel Jujutsu Kaisen Universe ]

Your eyes narrow, taking in the scene in front of you. This fight is becoming tougher by the minute.

The special grade cursed spirit across from you smiles, it's face agonizingly similar to that of a human's.

You're weighing your options. This special grade seems to have powers that connect with space. It can move at an impossible speed, managing to pop up in the nick of time in a completely different spot meters away.

It's powers are powerful. Currently, you're a second grade sorcerer. You're powerful, but more against curse users than actual spirits. You can do a lot of things other sorcerers are still dreaming of.

Your cursed technique is Water Manipulation. Like the name suggests, you can manipulate and change the structure of any body of water. You're powerful, but especially against people, as they are made up of 60% water after all.

" It seems you're losing. "

The cursed spirit is laughing at you, it's dark, hollow eyes scrutinizing you as it takes you in.

You huff at him, forcing yourself to stand your ground. You raise your arms, ready to continue your fight.

A fake, easy smirk settles on your face.

" Maybe you should open your eyes, I'm actually imagining all the different ways I can exorcise you. "

Your expression is smug, though you feel anything but, internally panicking.

You'll have to fight your way out of this, even if you're not sure you can win.

You're not dying today. You will make it out alive.

You unclasp the water skins resting on both of your hips, your hands moving fluidly as they guide the water into a make shift weapon. Today, you choose for it's vast, sharp nature, speeding the water's movements as you form two ring blades- two huge circles who act as an extension of your arm. The water they exist of is whirring at an incredible speed, making them exceptionally sharp. Right now, you're not aiming to fight the spirit. It doesn't seem all too afraid of close up combat, but you hope you can draw it back far enough towards the bridge that connects this village to the city over a river. If you can do that, you'll stand a chance. You could escape, or better yet, win.

Your eyes narrow into a serious expression as you charge at it. It's smug, it's counter powerful as it fights back.

" This is also quite fun you know, I didn't expect we'd be getting all close and personal. " It grins.

The spirit you're fighting might look humanoid, bit it's still got a weird purple skin colour. It's hair is blue, the colours clashing with one another. It's not pretty, in fact, it's very uncomfortable to look at.

You scoff.

" Don't get used to it. "

You don't bother to say more as you quicken your movements, your aim a little desperate, but definitely dangerous. It's starting to work. Your rapid attacks are sending the cursed spirit back, not wanting to be caught in one of your make shift blades.  Soon enough, it's drawing back, slowly getting closer and closer to the river. It raises it's arm, and you jump out of the way. A new, free path lies in front of you, and you take your chance.

To your horrific surprise, it seems to launch some sort of ball, vaguely reminding you of Gojo's sensei's technique. It doesn't just explode the building it hits, it turns into a small, black hole, sucking in a part of the falling bricks. You're running towards the river, however, just before you reach it, it jumps in the way. However, the river is now in your reach, and you seize the opportunity. Reaching out your hands, you command the water far below you, and it shoots out in a spike towards the cursed spirit. It moves out of the way just in time, and you take it's place instead, continuing to summon the water around you. It turns into a huge circle, spinning protectively around you. The weight of the water is heavy, but you can handle it, even if it does weigh down your movements.

However, as you're getting ready to launch the attack, the spirit laughs, sending another ball your way. You release all the water, letting it fall on the ground as you jump out the way. The ball hits the ground, and this one doesn't turn into a small black void. Instead, it releases a huge wave, sending you back. First, it makes you hit the railing of the bridge, your back hurting on the impact. Ouch. Lucks seems to be on your side, as you somehow manage to flip over the railing, now falling towards the river. A very rich power source.

The spirit smirks, catching you of guard. It creates some kind of golden ring, and to your surprise, it teleports. It's under you within a second, and before you know it, you're falling in it.

-

You groan as you wake up, squinting at the harsh sunlight.

" Huh?.. " You're puzzled.

Where are you? It takes you a few moments before you realize exactly where you are. As you turn to your left, the archway to Jujutsu Tech greets you.

You're back here? How?

Something is wrong. You were in a nearby village just now, not too far away. It was cloudy there. It was only a 10 minute drive from your school. How was it sunny here already?

You rub your face, completely confused. You can swear that the air is different too. Something isn't right. However, a searing pain spreads through your body. Shit, your back. You forgot about that. You groan as it hits you.

You turn to your water skins, only to see that you left it uncapped. The water must've fallen out as you fell. Damnit, you don't even have enough water to heal yourself.

" Salmon roe? "

" Inumaki senpai! Holy shit am I glad to see you. " You groan, struggling to get up.

He sends you a questioning look, stepping back when you reach for him. You return his look.

" My back's killing me-"

" Pickled mustard leaf. "

He's raising his hand at you as he speaks, a warning for you not to move. Your eyes widen in realization. He doesn't recognize you. He's asking how you know his name.

Your mouth opens slightly. What was going on? You were relatively close with your upperclassmen.

" You- what? - You're playing a game, right? You know who I am. C'mon, we've sparred so often. You trained me for the exchange event a few months ago-"

Inumaki shakes his hands at you, making you pause your words. The both of you blink at each other for a good minute. Him wondering who you are, and you wondering what was going on.

" I'm your underclassman. You know me. I know you. You're Inumaki Toge. You can only speak in rice ball ingredients because of your cursed speech technique- your favorite rice ball ingredient is Tuna mayo. I know because I asked months ago when we got to know each other. Also I accidentally hit you in the head with a baseball during our baseball game against the Kyoto school.- I'm Kamo Y/N. Your favorite underclassman (you're probably not, but that doesn't matter), Ryomen's best friend-"

He blinks in question again, as you blink in response.

" Ryomen Sukuna? My best friend? He's like-"

" Sleep. "

Your eyes fall closed as you fall to the ground, completely unconscious.

it’s downright pouring outside.

suguru rests on the living room couch, cooped up in a bundle of soft blankets, watching as droplets ricochet against the window. heavy, sharp, like the rain is trying to break into your apartment — a steady pitter patter that makes him feel at ease.

it’s cozy, he thinks. being indoors, safe and warm and dry, while the outside world is blanketed by gray. wearing baggy clothes, a pair of reading glasses, his hair tied up into a loose bun. turning the pages of the new novel you gave him, slender fingers ghosting against the paper.

he thinks of you, and finds himself frowning.

suguru got home just before storm clouds gathered in the sky — but as far as he knows, you’re still outside. he’s memorized your comings and goings, what time you usually return home, the paths you tend to favour. as any attentive roommate should.

so he’s a little worried. usually, you’d be home by now. and you still haven’t replied to his messages.

tentatively, he reaches for the warm cup of tea on the coffee table, bringing the ceramic to his lips. sipping from the green, honeyed brew, letting the scent soothe his growing nerves. he shouldn’t be too high-maintenance; you’re a perfectly capable adult. if he nags at you all the time, you’ll just be weirded out. and the last thing he wants is to scare you away.

so it’s fine. you’re fine, he’s sure. there’s no need for him to freak out over your whereabouts. he needs to maintain his cool, calm exterior.

— suddenly, the click of a lock being turned.

suguru’s head whips towards the front door. after a brief moment, he stumbles to his feet, untangling himself from the heap of blankets he’s burrowed into — gently setting the cup back on the table, fixing his hair, making sure he’s presentable — before making his way towards the hall.

and there you are. clumsily dragging the door open, stumbling inside, keys jingling as you step over the threshold; absolutely soaked. just as he feared.

”hey…”

you meet his gaze. panting softly, cheeks a little flushed, wet locks of hair sticking to your forehead and neck — disheveled. letting out a sheepish little laugh — gosh, why do you have to be so cute? — leaning down to pull your shoes off. you’re wearing a thin, white shirt. it’s entirely drenched.

suguru looks away. a heat sticking to his cheeks.

”hey,” you greet, a little out of breath. tossing your shoes away, tugging absently at your shirt. ”god. i feel like a drowned rat.”

at that, he lets a little chuckle slip. shaking his head, taking a step back — careful not to let his gaze stray towards the soaked fabric of your clothing. ”why didn’t you call me? i would have picked you up.”

”well, i thought about it,” you hum, walking right past him, ”but i figured you’d still be at work.”

suguru frowns, ever so slightly, discontentment in his eyes. ”… they let me go early today. but you should have texted me, either way. what if you get sick?”

”i’ll be fineeee,” you slip on a grin, turning back to face him. ”just need a quick shower. don’t worry, okay?”

he narrows his eyes, playfully, enjoying the way your eyes crinkle in response. then he exhales, hands on his hips. feigning exasperation.

”… fine, fine. need me to go get you a clean shirt?”

”ah. well...” you let out a wince, earning a tilt of his head. ”i haven’t done my laundry, in like… a week.”

a moment passes. suguru’s lips curl up, an exasperated sigh slipping from his lips. he gazes at you, ever so fondly, raising a brow. ”i asked you if you needed me to wash anything for you.”

”i know, but…” a breathy sigh, as you scratch at the back of your neck. ”i don’t want you to pull all my weight. we both live here.”

there’s a pretty little pout on your lips, now. it makes suguru want to smooth over the sensitive skin with his thumb, soothe it away. but he only clears his throat.

”i don’t mind,” he answers, truthfully. ”i like doing laundry. you know that.”

”… still.”

his smile only grows, at your quiet mumble, something soft blooming in his eyes. he takes a step forward, scooting closer to you. ”we’ll see about laundry later. in the meantime… want to wear one of my shirts?”

the words have left his lips before he can think them through — maybe a little too eager. silently, he curses himself for being so forward. but you raise your head, meeting his amber eyes, blinking so sheepishly that he thinks he’d give you just about anything you ask for.

”… is that okay?”

”more than okay,” he reassures you, a smile on his face. ”i’ll get you something comfy.”

you quiet down, for a moment. still pulling at the collar of your shirt, making sure the thin fabric doesn’t stick to your soaked skin, shifting from foot to foot.

”… alright,” you exhale. ”that’d be great, then.”

a hum buzzes in his throat. suguru walks past you, towards the hallway leading up to his room, ruffling your wet hair in passing. his heavy palm on your head, a perfect fit. smiling to himself.

”got it. one second, okay?”

behind him, you nod, but he can’t see it — walking into his room, rummaging through his closet, trying not to lose his mind at the idea of you wearing one of his oversized shirts. maybe a pair of sweatpants, maybe a tank top… he gulps at the thought. heartbeat accelerating, gradually, a jittery feeling in his throat.

he settles on a big, comfortable hoodie. bundling it up in his arms, before making his way back to where you’re still standing, still soaked, shivering a little.

”here,” he hums, passing the bundle of soft fabric into your awaiting arms. you nuzzle into the pile, already looking comforted; it warms his heart. he hopes you like the cologne he picked out, earthy and deep. a hint of cinnamon. ”now go take your shower, hm?”

”mm. thank you,” you smile, cheeks still damp, a little flushed. ”you’re too nice to me.”

suguru resists the urge to frown. resists the urge to tell you that there’s no such thing, that you deserve every last drop of kindness he can wring out of his cramped-up heart. he knows he shouldn’t be too forward, but you’re making it difficult. you always make it so difficult.

(or maybe he’s just a weak, weak man.)

”oh, please,” he gives you a playful little roll of his eyes, sighing fondly. ”this is the bare minimum. we don’t want you catching a cold, do we?”

”we don’t,” you grin. ”i have a feeling you’d just end up making me soup all day.”

a chuckle flows from out his lips. he hopes it doesn’t come out as shaky as his heart feels, just at the thought — the idea of taking care of you like that. being allowed to tend to you, being trusted by you in that way. ”well, i need to make sure i don’t get rusty. what kind of chef would i be if i did, hm?”

there it is, again. the crinkle of your eyes, that upturn of your lips, all things he finds himself constantly seeking out — suguru exhales, somewhat in bliss. he might need to quit cigarettes for good, soon. it wouldn’t do for him to have more than one vice.

while you take your shower, your roommate lounges on the couch. or at least, he tries to — though his feet inevitably take him to your tiny kitchen, to the water cooker, to the cabinet with all his expensive tea bags. he picks out a nice, strong ginger tea. something to help boost your immune system. silently, drowsily, he pours water into a ceramic cup, stirs the slowly brewing tea with a honey-clad teaspoon. raindrops cascade against the window, and the faraway sound of thunder reaches his ears.

it’s cold outside, but warm and cozy in here — in the home you’ve made for yourselves.

he’s really, really glad that he followed satoru’s advice. that he put out that advert, that the first person who reached out ended up being you. he’s happy to share a living space with you, these cozy leftover afternoons. he’s happy to have someone to brew tea for.

(what more could a man like him ask for?)

”um, suguru?”

he stiffens. ever so slightly, ears perking up at the sound of your voice, that mellow little lilt — broken out of his syrupy stupor. after a moment, he turns around.

and his breath hitches in the back of his throat.

you’re standing there, right at the threshold separating the kitchen from the living room, hair a little damp from the shower — and you’re wearing his hoodie. it cascades down your frame, the hem of it ending right above your knees, sleeves rolled up to reveal your hands. that hoodie is baggy even on him, but you’re just drowning in the fabric. his heart feels like it’s about to burst.

suguru blinks. once, then twice, pupils blown wide.

— he lets out a shaky sigh.

”jesus…”

a series of blinks. you tilt your head, like a confused puppy, glancing up at him with that doe-eyed look. fuck, he wants to bundle you up in his arms. he wants you to fall asleep on his chest, wants to keep you there forever. god, who thinks stuff like that?

(he needs to get a grip — and fast. he can already feel his ears growing hotter.)

”it looks… kind of ridiculous, doesn’t it?” you let out a sheepish chuckle, clouded with what he thinks must be shyness. cute. ”is this an xxl? that’s insane.”

suguru lets out a breathy chuckle, shaking his head, raven locks swaying with the movement. ”it is. looks good on you, though.”

”… does it?” you let your arms fall slack, for a moment, the softened fabric swallowing your hands. he can’t even see the tips of your fingers. oh, how his heart aches. it’s squeezing so tightly he fears his chest might cave in.

a nod. suguru clears his throat, turning around again, clinking the teaspoon against the rim of your cup. stirring idly. ”is it comfortable?”

”mhm!”

— and he smiles. ”good.”

silently, you step closer, taking your rightful place beside him. leaning your elbows against the counter, watching his movements, the flick of his long fingers. one of his rings catches on the ceramic, a quiet clang.

”here,” he hums, pushing the cup towards you. when you look up, his eyes are crinkled at the edges, warm and sweet, a melting pair of honeycombs. ”drink up.”

a moment passes.

”… you really are too sweet for your own good, you know that?”

suguru grins. his heart blossoms a little more; petals sticking between the ridges of his ribs. it manifests as a delighted little chuckle, flowing out his throat.

”don’t thank me yet — there’s sushi for you in the fridge, too. they let us bring the leftovers home again.”

”really? i can have some?”

suguru raises a brow. smiling, all the while. ”would i be offering otherwise?”

(you can have anything, he wants to say. i doubt i could say no. i’m a little weak, when it comes to you.

such embarrassing words.)

a heavy sigh escapes you, laced with relief. taking hold of the cup, raising it to your lips, sipping slowly. ”god, you’re the best. i’m starving.”

”haha… better eat, then, yeah?”

nod, nod. you give him another one of those grins, awfully pleased, putting your cup down and taking a step back. suguru can’t help but turn his head, to catch a glimpse of you — how cozy you look, waddling around in that big hoodie. hair a little tousled, humming softly to yourself, tapping the tips of your fingers against the handle of the fridge. it mashes well with the endless pitter patter against the window.

a purr of thunder echoes in the distance. hyacinths line the windowsill, the crinkle of a plastic container being rustled rings out across the room, and suguru feels at peace. he watches, listens, observes. wallowing in the feeling.

domesticity.

with a breathy, blissed-out exhale, he closes his eyes. smiling sweetly, barely contained. wishing on every single droplet that you’ll stick around a little longer than your lease allows.

”here,” you grin, stepping into his line of vision. handing him a plate full of sushi, all his favorite pieces. ”you eat up, too.”

suguru smiles.

(that’s a bridge he’ll worry about crossing another day. for now — this is more than enough.)

A few days have passed since the day you've made dumplings with Megumi and Yuuji at the asscrack of dawn, and currently, your classmates and you find yourselves at the Kyoto school, send there by Gojo who's heard something from Utahime.

" Gojo informed you all about the mole right? "

You're currently stood in the garage of the school, with Utahime who had just received all of you.

" Yes. "

" We think two or more are in contact with a curse user. One a higher up or principle- I won't be able to do anything about that. The other would be someone feeding information to that higher up. That's our target. They're only a suspect at this point, so our objective is to capture and interrogate. "

" So who from Kyoto is it? "

" huh? "

" Why else would they include us, Tokyo students? "

Nobara has a very good, and sharp point. You hadn't even thought about who it might be yet. You smile at Yuuji's next words.

" Kugisaki, you're a genius. "

Meanwhile, Utahime sighs.

" The suspect is Mechamaru. "

Soon after, she's leading you through the school, towards the basement. It's a little ominous, but you roll with it. You're not alone after all. Besides, you're a Jujutsu sorcerer, you shouldn't allow silly fears to intervene in your work.

" The real Mechamaru, Kokichi Muta, is in this basement. Now, it's not like he's suspicious. It's more that no one else is. The process of elimination leaves us with Mechamaru. "

Yuuji opens the first door, leading through yet another hallway of the basement. Utahime is the first to step in it.

" Mechamaru's technique is Puppet Manipulation. Thanks to his Heavenly Restriction, it's range extends through all of Japan. Unregistered puppets could very easily do the work of a mole. "

" You'd think? It'd draw a lot of attention if you ask me. "

" Even if that puppet is as small as a mosquito? "

" Ah yeah, I guess that's an option too. "

Yuuji and Utahime's conversation stops there, as Utahime stops in front of a door. She points at it.

" We're here. "

She seems nervous as she opens the door. That makes you nervous. Still, you're ready if a battle were to follow.

The room is empty, all of you stand there.

" Uhh... "

" He got us. "

" Though on the other hand-"

" Now we're certain it's Mechamaru. "

-

" Are you sure you can heal her? "

Megumi has turned to face you, his hand on the door handle of the hospital room Tsumiki is resting in.

You shake your head.

" I'm not. I hope I didn't give you the confidence that I was 100% certain that I can. I have managed to do so in my own world a little over 3 months ago, but I'm not certain this will be the same. "

He nods, understanding your words and where they come from. They were a lot of differences between your universe and his. There was still the option that you couldn't manage to, for a whole lot of reasons.

He slides the door open, and the both of you step in.

The first thing you notice in the room is the odd signature of cursed energy being emitted from Tsumiki's body. It was heavier than in your own world. How... Odd.

Sharpening your features, you uncap your water skin. Megumi is resting with his back against the door, making sure no one comes in.

You manipulate the water to follow your movements, so of course, it does. A slim line of water forms a circle around Tsumiki's body. You continue your movements, the water spinning in a warm circle around her. However, you notice something odd.

There's 2 curse signatures. The one you've felt before, back when you were fighting those cursed spirit-humans, the same as that domain. And something stronger. It's like it's placed on top of it. Like a cap on a bottle, not allowing anything to escape. Like a scar, a mark. Some kind of cursed energy you're completely unfamiliar with.

Megumi's eyes widen. The ring of water you're manipulation is flowing peacefully, smoothly, and seems to have a faded white golden hue to it. It emits a soothing feeling, even though it's not surrounding him. Was this what your reverse cursed energy was like?

After a few moments, you stop, manipulating the water back into it's skin. Your eyebrows are furrowed as you think, trying to figure out how it is this way. Megumi blinks at you, his expression neutral.

" Was that also reverse cursed technique? "

You nod, still deep in thought.

" Yeah. It's a form I have no guidance for, so it's hard to get a hold of. Shoko has taught me the general technique for reverse cursed technique. The one I've used to heal you before. This is different. It can lift curses. "

" .. But not this one? "

You remain silent for a moment after his question.

" This is going to sound stupid... But it feels like there's 2 signatures. I just don't understand why, or how. One feels stronger than the other. My technique is too weak to reach the weaker one hidden below the... Other one? I don't even know what it is. "

Megumi's brows furrow in concern, eyes on his sister as well as he studies her.

" That's... Weird. "

You nod.

" It is. "

Was Tsumiki cursed twice?

-

" Hey, Y/N, is everything alright? Are you enjoying our universe so far? "

Gojo's smiling, laid back as he always is as he leans back against the back of his desk.

You smile back at him, nodding.

" Yeah. Everyone is nice to me so far. Thank you for helping me settle. "

He grins at you.

" Anything else you need me to take care of? "

Your smile slowly falls, your brows furrow in concern.

" Not exactly. It's more about the Shibuya thing- I've got a bad feeling about it. Let me come with you. "

You're not one to not trust your gut. Especially in situations like this. He grins at you, finding your concern adorable. He walks closer to you, placing a comforting hand on the top of your head.

" Ah, that's sweet. You must be my favorite student in your universe. But you don't need to worry about it. I'm the strongest, after all. "

You sigh.

" Still-"

" I'm serious, Y/N. I'll be fine. I've put you with Megumi, Takuma and Nanami. You're on back up anyway. "

You sigh, realizing that you wouldn't be able to get through with him.

" Okay. If you're certain. Just... Don't freeze if.. I don't know.. Something unexpected happens. "

His smile slips off his face, now replaced with confusion as his hand slips off your head, returning to his pocket.

" Like what? "

" I don't know..? Another you maybe? I've got no idea, honestly. "

You sigh again, looking at the floor. Maybe you really were a little paranoid about this for no reason.

-

" It's a veil that only traps civilians inside. They can enter, but not leave. Sorcerers and assistant supervisors seem to have no trouble moving in and out. "

" Any reception? "

" No. All communications will have to be done outside of the veil, through us assistant supervisors. "

Ijichi is stood across from you, Takuma and Nanami. Together, you're team Nanami (you snorted originally when you were named that.) You were surprised, but also proud to hear that both Megumi and Ino were now under evaluation for promotion. The only reason you were not was because, well.. You're not from here.

" Well, that's awfully inconvenient. "

Meanwhile, Takuma taps Megumi on his shoulder, drawing both of your attention.

" Fushiguro, Fushiguro, Kamo- Here's a fun fact. The conditions of a veil can only be defined in terms of 'things with cursed energy'. That includes humans, cursed spirits, and cursed objects. Blocking cell phone reception is just a side effect of the veil- You can't actually block or allow reception using barrier techniques. "

Megumi blinks, you do too, leaning over to get a look at Takuma.

" Ah, yes. We know. "

Nanami speaks over his shoulder, addressing the three of you.

" Ino, they're both exceptionally talented students. Keep the senpai act in check. "

" What's that supposed to mean, Nanami?! "

Nanami doesn't respond, turning his focus back to Ino.

" Lastly, where is Gojo Satoru? "

You hope the ill feeling in your gut is just a joke.

Question: would u guys like me to continue after writing through s2 by following the manga or would u like me to wait for s3? (I'm not all too sure myself- but for now my preference goes to the manga.)

[ A/N: I'm so excited to write Shibuya arc, I've got sum good shit planned. ]
