choso, who's been around a long time, has seen a lot of people, but still gets warm in the face when he sees you

choso, who wonders if he's too intimidating so he bunches his shoulders up instinctively when you're around to make himself look smaller — it doesn't work

choso, who always ducks his head down with pink cheeks after you catch him staring. even hides his face in his scarf for good measure

choso, who wears his hair down a lot more often after you complimented it one time

choso, who likes to lean down towards you as if that will help him hear you better. he wants to make sure you know he's paying attention

choso, who lies awake at night thinking about your pretty lips, your pretty face, wondering if you find him as alluring as he finds you

choso, who makes your number the first to be added to his phone after yuji takes him to get one. he hopes you'll teach him how to use it<3 makes your contact photo your favorite animal

choso, who finally works up the courage to call you one evening to hear your voice, who makes it a nightly occurrence to stay on the phone with you until one of you falls asleep — it's usually him

choso, who smiles wider than ever when he always finds that you never hung up the phone the night before

choso, who dreams of you so vividly, so lovingly, he confesses his feelings for you in his sleep

choso, who disappointedly wakes up to an ended call, only to find a single message from you:

You still have no idea whether the man is okay.

Instead, he's decided that you are his enemy, about approximately 3 seconds after you asked him that question. You have no idea why, but you don't exactly have the time to think about it either as he pounces at you, his hands pressed together in front of him as he sends a fierce line of blood your way.

You dodge just at the last second, the attack only snagging very few hairs. But then-

Wait-

Blood?

You know that technique.

" Wait! What's your name?"

He narrows his eyes at you, glaring as he huffs. His attack doesn't stop, and instead, he sends multiple blood missiles your way.

" Kamo Choso. What's it to you?"

You raise both your hands, your technique overpowering his own. At once, the blood missiles stop midair.

This was the very reason why the Kamo clan disliked you. Not only did your mother marry an outsider, she also gave birth to someone who could nullify their preciously honored technique.

You don't know a Choso. Perhaps he was only in this universe, and not your own.

Choso's eyes widen, taken by surprise, before they narrow again into a glare.

" What's your technique?"

" Wouldn't you like to know? Don't bother fighting me. This is a fight you will not be able to win."

You glare right back at him, your warning very much a statement. You ready your stance, holding his blood missiles in place for now.

He grits his teeth, the mark on his face tightening up, elongating into a thin, dotted line.

He doesn't say anything after that, instead charging at you to face you in hand to hand combat. You don't back down, reshaping his blood in a circle around you, you send it straight back at him. Granted, the circle was thin, but it was enough to catch him off guard.

Meanwhile Choso is completely confused. He hopes he isn't showing it too obviously ( and it's working, you have no idea that you've completely caught him off guard.) Although he has never run into other sorcerers who can use blood manipulation, he's sure that they shouldn't be able to use his blood. It's weird, considering you seem to be able to. He's trying to puzzle together the pieces of your technique, trying to figure out how you manage to control his blood.

However, Choso has not met many sorcerers, and doesn't have the needed knowledge of the water skins resting on her hips to be able to connect that your technique is something related to water. And as long as you won't use it, he'll never know.

Soon enough, he's onto you, throwing punch after punch. He's quick, nearly as quick as the Sukuna you're familiar with. Meanwhile you keep 'dancing' around him, your body following his movements fluidly. It's like you're his shadow. You're there, but he's unable to land a hit on you just yet.

Gritting his teeth at the challenge, he narrows his eyes at you, studying your physical features.

" What's your name?"

The question catches you off guard for some reason, your millisecond lag of response giving him the opportunity to land a good punch in your face. You cringe as you hear your nose crack.

Fuck, he's stronger than you expected. He definitely just broke your nose. He doesn't understand your technique, so it's best to heal it later.

Blood trickles down your nose as you grumble and get up, wiping your sleeve against your nose. The bleeding doesn't stop, but you choose not to pay too much attention to it.

He is not getting the chance to hit you again. It's simply too risky.

" Y/N. Kamo Y/N."

His eyes narrow as he approaches you, his mind whirring with this newfound information. Wouldn't that make you family of the body he possesses? That was concerning, and difficult.

Noticing your name has caught him off guard, you take your chances. You close the distance between the two of you quickly, before aiming to kick him right across his face.

Sadly, he catches you at the very last second, blocking your leg and aiming yet another punch at you.

However, he's caught by utter surprise as you manage to use his arm to flip your weight over him, doing a cartwheel right over him. His eyes widen. He had already noticed that you were flexible, especially with how you kicked him just now, but you're more athletic and agile than he had expected.

For a moment, a peaceful silence seems to hang over you two, the both of you panting to catch your breaths.

And then you're both charging at one another again. The fight is quick paced, kick after punch after elbow after knee, and all blocked or avoided by one another.

It's been a good while since you've had to work this hard to keep up with someone in physical combat. Choso is physically much stronger than you. ( Sadly, most people you find yourself against are, though that isn't usually an issue.) On top of that, he's fast, fast enough to keep up with you. Usually, your quick reactions would cancel out your lack of strength. Sadly, it does not today.

However, in one lucky hit, you manage to punch him right in the ribs, somewhere Yuuji has delivered a blow earlier as well ( Though you have no idea of that, so you really are just lucky.)

You collect your breath, spitting out the blood that's trickling down your nose as you fix your gaze on him, readying your stance.

" Where's Yuuji?"

His eyes widen like you've just spoken about a miracle.

" Yuuji- Yuuji's-"

He doesn't have the chance to say whatever he's wishing to say. From a distance, a dark, evil cursed energy had been around, and it was moving now. In fact, the entrance behind you bursts full of flames, like someone has fire wielding abilities and has dropped it down right on the ground above you.

The metro station shakes, and in a reflex, you draw yourself closer to Choso. You uncap one of your water bottles, and with more water then you'd like to use, you create a shield, trapping you and Choso in a water bubble.

Choso is looking at you with wide eyes as you do that.

Weren't you supposed to be his enemy?

He doesn't speak until the fire has died down, until your water shield has evaporated due to the heat. You're breathing heavily due to the scare of it, your body sweaty from the heat of the flames that nearly licked you.

" You- Are you Itadori Yuuji's friend?"

You raise your hands against him, clasping your water skin closed. He's been kind enough to not kill you while he had the chance but you never know if he decides to do so again.

" Yes... Why..?"

For a moment, Choso is just staring at you, his mind all over the place. You've sincerely got no idea what's going on in his head, but you don't question it this time.

" I- You can leave. I won't kill you. Or harm you."

And with that said he's walking away, his head in his hands once more.

You're left utterly confused, your eyes questioning what just happened.

However, you choose not to ponder on it too long. You have no idea what's going on the grounds above you. For all you know, they need your help.

Without another thought, you sprint up, up the stairs and-

Your eyes widen, taking in the destruction surrounding you.

Something big had been passing over. Every building around you seems to be in shambles, half burnt, or cut in two. With wide eyes, you pass along, hoping to find someone familiar at least.

On top of that, that pull of cursed energy that exactly feels like your own, is starting to feel less distant. It's heading towards you now.

You don't have time to think about that too much, your eyes widening as you round a corner.

" Megumi!"

Stood a few meters away from him, was another sorcerer (or curse user?) You don't know.

Megumi is in terrible shape. He's laid against a wall, knocked out, his head hung low, and covered in blood.

Your eyes widen as you run over to him.

You don't bother turning to face the stranger with a ponytail. You don't know who's side he's on, but you just hope he won't bother you.

You uncap the water skin you have, not wasting a second as you press your other hand to Megumi's chest. His heart is still pumping, his blood flow alive under his skin. You manipulate the last of your water around your hands, pressing it against the places where you guess he's hurt the most.

To your surprise, the very worst of his injuries are okay. Like someone's been here before. Healed him already. You can feel Shoko's reverse energy signature, though it's distant. It couldn't have been her. However, this leaves you to wonder, who was it?

You're sigh, noting that you need more water. You won't be able to fully heal him, but he still has injuries that need to close up. Focusing on the very core of your strength, you raise your hands, pulling water from thin air. It's a demanding part of your technique. Exhausting you, though you figure you'll come across a water source to heal yourself sooner or later. Even a simple tap would do.

You'll be fine.

You continue healing Megumi. However, you're pulled from your thoughts when ponytail suddenly starts laughing, charging at you with his sword in hand.

Your eyes widen. You can't stop the healing process now. If only your Sukuna was here- He'd have-

The source of your cursed energy is here.

Your mouth falls open in shock as ponytail gets pulled back by his hair, thrown in the nearest building.

In front of you, with his back facing you, is your closest friend.

" How stupid are you to heal someone when an enemy is stood right beside you?"

Overrun with positive emotions, your reverse cursed technique finishes up quicker than expected.

" Sukuna!"

You throw yourself at your best friend. Hugging him tightly, your arms snaking around him as your face is pressed in the crook of his neck. You enjoy the familiar warmth as he hugs you back tightly.

Because it doesn't matter how cold or tough Sukuna may act, you know he cares more deeply for you than anyone you know.

The two of you remain in each other's embrace for a moment, happy to finally be near one another again. When you finally pull apart, your touch lingers on one another.

He glances over at Megumi.

" what happened to him?"

" I'm not sure."

" It couldn't have been that ponytail, right? Megumi's not weak. Or is this Megumi weak?"

You shake your head, your eyes glancing at him.

" You're already aware that we appear to be in a different universe?"

" Nobara filled me in.- How much water do you have left?"

You grin cheekily at him, your hands messing with the bracelet on his wrist. Of course, that's why it felt so familiar. That pull you felt is your cursed energy. The energy you lended to your best friend so you could always find one another in times of need.

" Seems it led you to me once again."

You grin at him. Sukuna was not amused. He knew you were really just avoiding the question and trying to get him distracted.

" So you've got no water left?"

" Err- Well, no- "

He cuts you off, heaving an annoyed sigh. Pulling his arm out of your loose grip, he uses both hands to untie the water skin on his back. The one he always wore with him, just in case you managed to run out of water.

" Have you been carrying that around all this time while I was gone?"

He scoffs.

" I knew that I'd find you, and I knew you're stupid.-"

A demanding presence suddenly silenced both of you.

You turn to your left, noticing Yuuji- no- Was this the Sukuna of this world? The one they spoke of?- Either way, he was stood barely a few meters away from the two of you, his eyes fixed on yours.

" Oh, nice, there's another me."

Ryomen Sukuna smirks at his words, you step back, pulling your best friend with you.

Fuck, he doesn't know.

" Erm- Kuna', this you is, well, complicated and uhh, not nic-"

You don't get a chance to finish your last word. Instead, Ryomen Sukuna has grabbed you by the neck, and has taken to the sky, once high enough, he flings you into a building not too far away.

Ryomen Sukuna is annoyed. Two golden opportunities. Killing you, and witnessing the full strength of Fushiguro Megumi. On top of that, he finally had the space to fight again. However, it appears he doesn't have enough time. Below his skin, Yuuji is desperately grappling back for control, and it won't take long until he wins.

He needs you dead before you know of your actual potential. Of just how strong you actually are.

Noticing your bloodied form moving beneath the rubble, he grumbles in annoyance.

He aims at you again, intending to choke you with his bare hands.

However, before he can reach close enough, a chain is wrapping around his middle. He's barely glancing down at it, before he's pulled down, harshly into the ground.

It doesn't harm him. Not in the slightest. However, his interest has been piqued.

" Who're you?"

Standing across from him, stood none other than a replica of him, with minimal details. The only detail that stood out to Ryomen Sukuna was his duplicate's lack of cursed energy.

Your Sukuna doesn't reply, his eyes narrowing at him.

" Could ask you the same. The fuck's your issue?"

Ryomen Sukuna smirks.

" You have no cursed energy. You can't defeat me."

With that said, Ryomen charges at his duplicate. Kuna' is quick, on par when it comes to hand to hand combat. It's a quick work on punches and kicks, elbows and knees as they fight one another.

Meanwhile, you climb out from under the rubble, holding your ribs which are broken without a doubt. You grit your teeth, shaking your head in hopes to shake away your hazy vision. You will not die here. And neither will your Sukuna. You will personally make sure of that.

Meanwhile the two are still fighting one another. Your Sukuna is able to handle more punches than Ryomen expected, and he can't help but feel annoyed by it. However, in one lucky opening, he manages to land a swift, strong punch to his duplicate's stumic, sending him flying back.

On his other side, you have approached as well, your body flexible as you take up the challenge to fight him.

Truth to be told, you've forgotten that he specifically wanted you dead.

You don't really realize that he wouldn't bother to finish off your best friend, that he'd chase after you instead.

Sukuna finds himself even more annoyed with your style of physical combat, you're dancing around him, using his weight and movements to your advantage.

He doesn't understand where you're getting the strength from. You're all bloodied up, injured, and you're still fighting. Perhaps you're growing stronger on a quicker pace than he'd like.

He smirks at you, done with your fluid movements as he grabs you by the neck. You glare at him.

Behind him, he can hear his duplicate getting up. At the same time, he can feel Yuuji push more and more for control, desperate to not have you dead.

" Watch and learn, you have no cursed energy. You're not strong enough to win from me.-"

His duplicate is much quicker than he expected. Before he can react, he's send flying in the building behind him.

Your Sukuna grits his teeth. You cough, getting up from the floor as you fix your sight on the unbothered four eyed male who's leaving the building unscathed once again.

He's closing the distance between the two of you with the blink of an eye- his hand raised for what you don't doubt to be an activation for his slice technique.

Instinctively, you fall back, your hands raising as you take control of the closest water source.

You hate doing this. By your own morals, you never use it until you have absolutely no other option. And judging by the fact that Yuuji is currently prisoner in his own body, you suppose that this is one of those moments. You hate it, but you can't allow him to kill you.

At once, Ryomen Sukuna's movements still. He cackles.

You're not sure why, but after a moment, a glint appears in his eyes as he looks at you.

" Ah, you're lucky. The brat's gaining control. You won't be so lucky a second time."

Beside you, you notice your Sukuna about ready to slice his neck, and you raise an arm, stopping him as he gives you an incredulous look.

" Y/N, what the-"

" No! You don't understand. You can't kill Yuuji!"

Your Sukuna watches with wide eyes as the marks on Yuuji's face disappear, the smirk falling off. His mouth falls open in shock as his brother's features take over, wide eyes taking in the scene.

The resistance against your manipulation is gone, yet your body still trembles due to the adrenaline rushing through your body.

" Yuuji?"

Your voice is careful, uncertain, as you don't lose your control over his body just yet.

" Y-Y/N, I-"

With that, you release your hold, falling to the ground.

Yuuji looks around. His eyes connect to your Sukuna's for a moment, but neither say anything.

Your Sukuna doesn't know how to act, or what to do or say. He knows him as his brother. He doesn't want to kill him, but he doesn't understand what to make of the situation either. What just happened?

Instead, he walks over to where you've collapsed, your body out cold.

Yuuji watches him move. He's picking you up with care, carrying your body close to his own, picking up the water skin that's lying on the ground abandoned as he carries it on his back once more.

And then he's walking off, not looking back once.

Yuuji throws up as he remembers what just went down.

He almost killed you.

You would've died if your Sukuna hadn't been there.

Your eyes widen.

Fushiguro Toji.

It happens in slowmotion.

This is the first time you've ever truly seen him. You've heard stories. Stories of your mother who grew up with him. She described him as strong on a different level. You've heard stories from Gojo. Unbelievably strong. A true fear to be reckoned with. You've heard Yuki speak of him. Free from cursed energy. Much like the one other person you're fond of.

You've never seen him before. Yet you just know it's him. It's a feeling you've never had before, but there's no possibility for it to be anyone else. No one else would jump in like he just did. (Except perhaps your Sukuna, but this ain't about him.)

He's fast, disappearing mid-air, only to be stood right beside Maki, tugging at Cloud Jumper. He wins, tugging the weapon from Maki's hands. He walks past casually, like he's simply here to finish some simple job. From the corner of your eye, you notice Zen'In's old man tense, recognition flashing through his eyes.

You're left confused. You knew that the Geto Suguru of this universe went down the same road as your universe's Geto Suguru. You had read it right off Gojo's face back when he asked who you were. Geto had ended up that way thanks to his battle with Toji, among other reasons.

Had that not happened here? Wasn't Toji supposed to be dead? You did notice something odd though. Black eyes. You have no idea why or where or how.

Nonetheless, you watch in amazement with the rest as Toji approaches the curse casually, no sign of fear.

The curse has no idea who he is, writing him off as unimportant and sending a really long ugly eel from his stomach.

The display is a little disgusting, but whatever.

Toji was not scared, or impressed. You don't catch his smirk as he beats through the curse's attack. It creates an opening for him, and he's quick to close in on the distance between them, whacking Cloud Jumper across its face. He's watching the curse fly from his attack with a crazed smile. He follows soon after, running over the water as he mercilessly attacks the curse again and again, sending him flying in every direction. The curse doesn't stand a chance.

If your universe's Toji was anything like this one, then you understand how Gojo lost from him. The man is visibly crazy, his attacks merciless, skilled, and fast.

Eventually, the curse finally regains his footing, and he sends a hoard of piranha curses at Toji, aimed in a straight line. Of course, Toji doesn't falter, whacking through every last one of them with ease, closing in on him once again. The curse is smart, and pulls him under as he aims at his stumic once more. The two disappear from sight, only to reappear later. First, the curse. Then, Toji, who's wrapped up like a cocoon in eels, it seems. It only takes Toji a moment to break free from the eels. Two giant isopods break the surface a moment after he breaks free, but he beats one down with a single blow, the other one falling soon after.

Their fall creates a big wave on both sides. One heading straight towards your group, the other sending Toji and the curse back to the island.

You react quickly, taking control of the wave and allowing it to flow back gently. When the wave dissipates, all of you are able to see the curse receiving a life threatening beating once again.

And now, he's drawing blood, seriously injuring the curse.

" Old man. Who is that?"

It's Maki who's asking the question.

" A ghost."

" Fushiguro, can you hold out a little longer?"

You glance back at Megumi, noting his state. Fuck, you forgot that he's still deploying his domain. It must be taking a shit amount of effort to keep that going.

You take a few steps to stand beside him, gathering the water of the curse's domain to form a stream, pressing your hand to the skin on the back of his neck. You can't fully heal him while he's using his cursed technique, especially while he's using his domain, but at least this way his physical state won't get worse. Megumi takes a deep breath before answering.

" Yes."

A horrific sound brings your attention back to Toji. Metal scraping against metal. He's sharpening Cloud Jumper. Soon enough, both ends of the once dull weapon are sharp enough to pierce skin with minimal effort.

The curse seems to realize it too, and jumps up. You're not the only one who notices. Naobito  is up in the air soon enough, pushing it back to Toji. Toji is soon to stab it with Playful Cloud. And then he's ripping the three parts loose, back to mercilessly beating the curse.

Then you're all back in the metro station. Your eyes widen.

He really just beat the special grade curse by himself.

" Megumi!"

He's dropped to his knees, choking up a bit of blood.

" I'm fine. Heal me later-"

he's breathing heavily. You're worried, but you nod.

Everyone's focus shifts to Toji.

Who's side is he on?

Toji is walking slowly, however, before anyone of you can speak, a window breaks.

He's forced Megumi outside.

Your eyes are wide, and Maki and you both call out for him at the same time.

" Megumi!"

You've jumped out of the window before you've finished saying his name. Toji is a few steps in front of you. You can see his eyes wide from the few meters you're stood away from him.

A moment later, a fire breaks out behind you.

Your eyes widen, glancing between Megumi and your other allies.

" Go!  I- I'll handle this!"

Megumi looks uncertain. You're uncertain too. Another eruption of flames.

" Just- stay safe! If you die- Nobara, Yuuji and I will kill you!"

You send him a worried glance, and then you're uncapping your water bottles, sending yourself back up, just as a third eruption of flames happens.

And then you feel something. Or hear something. You're not sure. It's like a heartbeat. But it's ominous, like a warning.

You arrive back in the metro station just to see a flash of the cursed spirit as it leaves, dashing away.

You wonder if it heard the heartbeat too.

However, you have no time to think about it. The scene in front of you ir horrific. Zen'In's old man is completely burned. Nanami seems to be half burned, probably having managed to protect himself at the very last second, half of his body gruesomely burned while the other half seems fine.

Your eyes widen as he gets up, eyes dully scanning the scene, lingering on Maki, who seems in an even worse state, as she didn't have the cursed energy to protect herself.

" Nanami!"

" Heal Maki first."

You stop, pausing as you look at him.

" Nanami-"

" She needs your help more than I do. You're strong, Y/N. I don't know what your universe is like, but I hope things are not going along the same lines as here. heal Maki, Y/N. And when this is over, we will speak again."

He gives you a short, small smile, and then he's walking away. Blade in hand, half of his body in completely burned. You stare after him for a moment, before turning to Maki. She stirs. at least she's alive.

You rush over to her, uncapping one of your water skins. You immediately manipulate the water onto your hands, deciding to try something new as you manipulate the water to cover every inch of her body in a thin sheen, hoping it will help heal her sooner. Soon enough, your own hands press down on her gently, your reverse cursed technique doing it's job.

" Y/N..."

"Maki! I'm so glad you're alive."

You release a tense sigh.

Slowly but surely, Maki's body heals, though scars do remain.

" I'm sorry, I can't avoid the scars."

" It's okay. Thank you for healing me."

You nod at her, getting up. Admittedly, it took a lot of water and effort to heal her. You're more skilled in reverse cursed energy than regular cursed energy, but even you can't deny that healing a whole body is demanding of you.

She joins you, her eyes studying her new scars.

And then you feel it again. That ominous presence. It's heavy, demanding, and unmistakingly evil. It's faint, so thankfully it's far away. But it's still there.

" Y/N?, What is it?"

" A cursed presence, I think."

Maki's eyes widen, following your line of sight. What could that be?

" Do you think it could be Sukuna's?"

You send her a questioning look.

" Sukuna doesn't have any cursed energ- Oh, this universe's Sukuna."

It takes you a moment to realize.

Maki nods.

" Do you know what our universe Sukuna's like?"

" yeah, he's the king of curses right?  His technique was slicing I've been told. And for some reason he's in Yuuji's body?- That part always got me a bit confused."

You move towards Naobito, intending to heal him, but Maki puts a hand on your shoulder.

" Don't heal him. He's not worth the effort, and you'll need the remaining resources of water you have."

You give her an uncertain glance, glancing down at the man who's laid out on the floor like a fry. Usually, you'd heal as many people as you could, but you happen to have heard already how horrible he is.

" He's treated you like shit your whole life, right?"

You don't turn to her as you ask the question. Maki raises a brow in surprise.

" Yes, why? "

You sigh, nodding as you turn to face her.

" In my universe, we're friends. I consider you my friend here too. I don't heal people who harm my friends."

You're smiling at her, and Maki smiles back at you.

" That's sweet. I think it's best if you go and find Yuuji. If Sukuna has truly manifested for whatever reason, we're in trouble. I'll go help out Megumi."

You nod at her.

" Okay. Stay safe."

The both of you turn the opposite direction after that. Maki jumps out of the broken window, while you walk deeper into the metro station. The first scene that greets you makes you gasp.

Two unfamiliar girls. One completely headless, her head body in a bowing position, and the other girl's body splayed across the ground, part of her head severed. You have no idea who these two are, but you still feel sorry for them. You have no idea who or what killed them. Glancing around, you notice a huge poster. Whatever fought here must have shattered the glass that held it, the material now loose.

Originally, you'd like for them both to lay side by side, under the poster you just found as a sign of respect. However, you're too afraid to touch them. A stupid unsettling feeling you have around dead bodies. Instead, you rip the poster in two, laying one part on each of them, wishing them to rest in peace.

You continue on your way, searching the halls for Yuuji.

Most of the metro station is empty, save for the rubble that's laying around.

Eventually, finally, you come across someone.

He reeks of cursed energy, making you wonder if he's really old or just special.

You cock your head, uncapping your leftover water skin.

" Hi."

He stills, now turning to look at you. His hands are holding his head, sweat covering his features. He's definitely distressed. Silently, you wonder about what.

His features are unique. He has dark eyes, surrounded by deep purple circles, like he's never slept before. His hair is tied up in two small ponytails, and on his face is a mark you could've sworn you've seen somewhere before.

" Are you okay?"

-

" Come any closer and I'll kill you!"

Sukuna grumbles in annoyance, turning around.

The sight is ominous, horrific. He's covered in blood. However, he has 2 eyes, is seemingly a bit taller and buffer than the Yuuji she knows.

" I'm done with useless fights. Two other sorcerers have already tried to kill me, and surprise, surprise, they failed."

Nobara's eyes narrow.

" Did you kill them?"

His voice is the same. It's slightly creepy. He sounds bothered, or perhaps annoyed.

" No. I'm not a murderer."

Nobara lowers her weapon, fixing him with a look.

" You're from Y/N's universe."

Sukuna's eyes widen. Finally, he calms down.

" Universe? You mean that this is a different one? "

Was that what Inumaki senpai was trying to tell him?

Nobara nods.

" Boy, do you have a lot to catch up on. But first, how did you come here?"

Home || N.K ||

Nanami Kento isn't sure how he ended up here, in this happy little kitchen.

A small content smile is settled on his face as he watches you, the love of his life, move about your shared kitchen, in your shared house.

Beside him, Gojo, who had invited himself and his first year students over at his place, was talking to him. The man was as animated as ever, and although Kento is listening, his full focus isn't in the action. Part of it is on you, like it always is.

Naturally, you and Yuuji have hit it off easily. The kid was naturally extroverted after all, and you warmed up quickly to him. You seem to get along with Nobara as well. Currently, the two of them are bantering about something, while you watch, amused. You and Megumi already know one another. You've met the very first time Megumi had been dragged to Jujutsu Tech by Gojo, and you've always been sweet to him.

Usually, Kento would join you in the kitchen. Neither of you could get along with anyone else in the confines of the kitchen space, but the two of you never had any issue, often wordlessly throwing something together to eat.

What he does know for certain, is that all of this is thanks you to you.

February, 2008

" You- what?"

Nanami Kento is staring down at you with wide eyes. You're a year below him, and your question has completely caught him off guard.

" I'm- I'm asking you on a date!"

Those were not the words you previously used Originally, you had asked for his number. You don't seem to back down, your pretty eyes blinking up at him as you eagerly wait for his answer.

Meanwhile Kento still can't comprehend it. You like him? Of all students around? Him?

Kento blinks, his mouth slightly open as he takes your words in. He's seen you around before. You were a fierce little thing. You were amazing in hand to hand combat (apparently due to your unique upbringing) and your cursed energy seemed to materialize in very real flames. You were pretty too, he finally noted. He likes your eyes, and the shape of your face, lips. The piercings in your ears were cool too.

He hadn't expected this, and it seems like he forgot to answer as you lean away from where you had been boldly leaning into his personal space, cocking your head with a pout on your lips.

" It's fine if you don't like me, you know? You don't need to feel forced to go on a date with me. It's alright if you don't want to. I can handle rejection."

" No- I- I just.. didn't expect it.- But yes, I'll go on a date with you."

He smiles slightly at you, a blush on his face. Truly, he has no idea what you're seeing in him. In his own eyes, he's much too skinny to be considered attractive enough to be boldly asked out like this. Especially by someone as pretty as you. However, he doesn't complain, blushing as he types his number in your phone.

-

The date doesn't happen. At least, not for a long time. It was supposed to happen, but then him and Haibara are sent on a mission, a few cities away.

Currently, he's sat in his room. It's been a few days since he's back, but he can't sleep. He doesn't want to close his eyes, afraid of reliving the moment over and over again.

Sighing, he gets out of bed. He doesn't feel bothered enough to change out of his pajamas. Instead, he puts on some slippers, and heads out of the dorms in favor of some fresh air.

It's late on a weekday, so he doesn't expect anyone to be awake right now.

He sighs, closing his eyes as he loses himself in the darkness of his thoughts and memories. He's seated on the steps of the dorms outside. The lower half of his face pressed into his palm, the expression on his face bothered.

" Can't sleep?"

Kento breath stutters, his hands reaching for the blade he doesn't carry with him currently.

Your eyes widen, bringing your hands up as you shake them, along with your head.

" Woah, sorry!- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sneak up on you. I just forget that my footsteps are silent sometimes."

He releases a breath, running a hand through his hair as he looks back at the night sky.

" It's alright."

He expects you to take it as a sign to silently shuffle away. You surprise him however, sitting down beside him. Your body is close, yet not too close. A reminder that you're there. You're silent, a stark contrast to how loud he's seen you be with your classmates. The silence between the two of you is a little awkward, though for a moment, he leaves it be. You don't seem to be too bothered by it after all.

" I'm sorry I didn't reply to your messages. "

You turn to him, blinking in surprise. Now that he's seeing you again, he does feel a bit guilty about it. The two of you had been messaging for a few hours every day since you've asked him out. However, de did ignore you after things went downhill during his mission. He didn't have the energy to talk to anyone.

Slowly, your hand comes closer, and then your warm hand is on top of his cool shoulder.

" Don't worry about it. You've had more troublesome things going on after all."

Your touch is comforting. He hadn't expected it to be. You're surprisingly gentle.

He studies you for a moment. There's a kind, easy smile on your face that lets him know everything is alright.

" I'm also sorry about our date."

You shake your hand, bringing your hand in your lap again as you face the night sky.

" It's okay. We can always do that another time. I can be patient, so don't worry about it."

He glances at you, taking you in. You're caring. It's sweet.

He turns his head, also gazing at the night sky once more.

" How come your footsteps are so quiet? I've never had anyone sneak up on me before. "

You laugh softly at that, a cheeky smile on your face.

" I grew up in a temple, with other orphans. We're raised by monks. In between certain times, we wouldn't be allowed in the kitchen to eat snacks during the day. My siblings and I sneaked in anyway. I think the footsteps lasted because,, well.. a lot of practice."

You grin at the fond memory.

" I see. I didn't know you were an orphan. I'm sorry, that must be pers-"

" It's alright. I never minded it. I've been raised with a lot of love and care, so I don't really care. I think I was brought there because my mother was too young to have me. I don't really remember the details."

Your story surprises him. He had not expected that. At all. However, it does explain how you manage to get along with a lot of different people.

For a good few moments, silence overtakes the both of you again. Kento finds himself enjoying the time he's spending with you. There's no need to talk. No need to say anything in order to enjoy each other's company.

After a moment, you yawn.

" Why are you awake at this hour?"

" I got carried away while watching my series- Wanna watch a movie?"

You've turned to him, smiling widely.

" What? Where?"

" Don't get me wrong. It's not a date. This isn't the proper moment for that- but, at my dorm. My dorm room's closest to the door, so we can easily sneak you in and out."

You're grinning.

" I don't believe that's proper, Y/N."

" Awe, don't overthink it. I've done it with my siblings a lot of times too. Even when I've only known them for a few months.-"

" But I'm not one of your sibling Y/N, for all we know I might be your future husband."

That silenced you, your cheeks tinting pink. Kento has to catch himself too, clearing his throat. He opens his mouth to say something, probably to take his words back, but you're quick to speak, not allowing him to change his previous words.

" But then, does it really matter?"

Your blush intensifies, as does his own.

He doesn't know how, but nearly ten minutes later, the two of you are squeezed on your bed, your laptop open in front of you. Originally, Kento tries to keep a formal distance, but you're too close. Your touch is too comforting, and neither of you can help yourselves as you cuddle up together.

Eventually, he finally falls asleep. His sleep dreamless, finally at peace in the comfort of your arms.

The next morning, he finds himself entangled in your arms, and although he's blushing, he can't find it in himself to mind. You're still sleeping. He glances at the clock, he notices that it's now 5 am. The perfect time to sneak back towards his own dorm. However, in the warmth of your embrace,  bundled up together under the covers, he can't find the will in himself to move. Smiling softly, he presses a shy kiss to the top of your head, before returning to his comfortable position.

He'll make sure to take you on that date once he's feeling better.

Present day

He's glad to say that he's taken you out on that date, and many others. He's happy he eventually got down on one knee and asked you to marry him before either of you were even financially ready.

Kento had been certain that he'd marry you. He was proud to have called you his fiance for a long time, but much happier when he got to officially address you as his wife.

Kento loves you for every time you've stood by him, for every night you held him during those tough times, for not giving up on him when stupid arguments happened between the two of you.

Meanwhile, Gojo had stopped talking. At this point, he's just dumbly smiling at Kento, who's wrapped up in his own thoughts.

Nobara and Yuuji had stopped bantering as well. Only you and Megumi seemed to still be busy with making dinner. ( All three wanted to help, but it was really Megumi who was doing most of the work with you.)

Gojo grins, catching Yuuji's eye and signaling Kento's love eyes for his wife. Yuuji nods.

Meanwhile, Kento seems to have snapped out of it, raising a brow as he turns to face his colleague.

" Wha-"

" Woah Nanamin, you're whipped!"

The object which contains the veil is destroyed by Yuuji, and you can't help but notice how pretty the veil looks beautiful as it dissipates into nothing.

" wait- the anti sorcerer veil is the only one that got lifted, right? But didn't we break three of these? Including the one Ino broke?"

Yuuji realizes. Megumi's eyes are on you. You look distracted. After the veil went down, your eyes returned to the direction where the odd pull of cursed energy is coming from.

" You okay?"

You snap back to reality, glancing back at Megumi, who looks as unbothered as always.

" Yeah, just- nevermind."

You sigh, shaking your head. Things were brewing in Shibuya. This could be a trap, no matter how familiar the feeling is. Megumi searches your expression, but he doesn't push it. You'll find out what that call is later. You're needed here now.

" Either they used all three to lower one veil, or the other two were dummies. Either way, sorcerers are free to move now. That leaves the veil trapping Gojo sensei and the veil trapping the civilians. I wanted to interrogate the old man, but it looks like he's out cold."

You glance at the man, who's laid unconscious against a fence.

" I could heal him partially?"

" That's a waste of effort. There's no guarantee he'll work with us. We should rejoin Ino and-."

" Ino!"

Like he was summoned, the guy appears to be plummeting from the sky, not to far away from you. Megumi is quick to summon Nue, while Yuuji jumps down, a short cut of some sort. You uncap the water skin with clean water, coming to his aid as Yuuji catches him.

He looks bad. He's all roughed up, bleeding particularly nasty from the top of his head. You don't waste any time. Manipulating the water to surround your hands, you press them to the wound on his forehead. To your worry, he doesn't react to it. Nonetheless, the wound heals, the water on your hands melting into his skin.

" Y/N, your water-"

" Yeah, I know. It's alright, it does that with heavier injuries."

You explain, continuing to heal the wounds on him which you can see. The ones that look particular nasty. More and more of your water melts into his skin, but you'll be fine.

Besides, you can always use your own sweat to work with, no matter how uncomfortable and weird that is.

" Don't heal everyone you see. We need you in battle."

You shake your head.

" I can't not do that, Megumi. I'm a healer first."

Megumi sighs at your words. You smile at Him.

" Don't worry. I never run out of water sources.- Anyway, Ino won't be able to fight anymore, he'll have to tap out."

" I'm gonna go beat them up."

" Itadori, I understand how you feel, but what's our priority right now?"

Yuuji sighs.

" Gojo sensei."

" The veil's lifted. Those guys might've escaped already. Let's get Ino out of here."

" Take care of Ino for me."

Your mouth opens slightly in surprise, your eyes shifting from Ino to Yuuji.

" Where are you going?"

" I'll head to the station."

In a way, it's the best option. But the idea of operating in Shibuya alone right now?

" All right, but-"

" If I die, you'll kill me, right?"

Yuuji's grinning, pointing fingers guns at Megumi.

Megumi seems surprised, but doesn't verbally react to it for a moment.

" Besides, I have Mechamaru with me. Even though he has been quiet for a while."

Megumi sighs, getting up. Nue flexes it's wings as Megumi does so, ready to take off with Ino on hs back.

" All right, as long as you understand."

" I can come with you?"

" No."

Both guys are quick to turn down your offer, causing you to raise a questionable brow.

" What's that supposed to mean? "

" You have to stay alive. You can't die in our universe. "

" Exactly. And I'm going where it's more dangerous, so you'll be safer with Fushiguro."

You give both of them an offended look.

" Are you calling me weak?"

Yuuji blinks, an obvious sign that he absolutely did not mean that. Megumi sighs too.

" Don't be fussy about it, Y/N. You must have people back at home who are worried about you. You can't die here. It's cruel."

Megumi fixes you with a look, and you pout, before sighing. He's right. Your parents, your friends, they must all be incredibly worried about you. Hell, with how long you've been here, you wouldn't be surprised if they were mourning your death. You want to see them at least once, before you die.

" Fine. But just... be careful."

Yuuji grins at you, nodding.

" Don't worry. I'll be there the day we find you a way back home. "

He's playfully winking at you, and then he's running off.

You and Megumi turn around, making your way towards the edge of the veil trapping civilians.

Every few seconds, he glances at you. You know him well enough to know that he wants to ask a question.

" Hm?  What is it?"

For a moment he doesn't say anything, walking on, but eventually, he finally speaks.

" What had you so distracted earlier?"

You turn to him in surprise.

" Oh. Something is pulling at my cursed energy. I've felt it before, but I just can't remember where."

He sends you a worried glance.

" Pulling at your cursed energy? "

" Yeah. Like someone else is using it. Which is weird, because I don't exist in this universe."

A real pity. He thinks to himself.

" Like a call?"

" Exactly like that."

" Do you still feel it?"

You nod.

" I do."

" Where is it coming from?"

You stop walking, glancing in a specific direction.

" It's sort of distant, but my guess it's that it's coming from somewhere on the other side of Shibuya."

-

Inumaki Toge was annoying, and useless.

Now of course, Sukuna was well aware that he was simply greater than his senpai, especially in hand to hand combat, considering the Heavenly Pact he's been blessed with at birth. However, he also knows that Toge's cursed technique can simply step on him like a bug.

By now, Sukuna has realized that there's something wrong. He's definitely not home, and this Inumaki seems to be completely unfamiliar with him. Every move he taught his senpai was not being used currently. Nonetheless, Inumaki is throwing punch after punch, trying to aim on his face. A stupid move. He knew all his schoolmate's fighting styles', and there were only a few who stood a fair chance against him in hand to hand combat. Zen'In Maki, and Itadori Yuuji. Not Inumaki Toge.

What Sukuna doesn't understand is that Inumaki was not using his cursed technique. If he wished, he could have easily defeated him with a few words. Currently, Sukuna simply dances around him, using the space around him to their advantage. He's sparred with you often enough to know how you move. He knows it well enough to copy in a situation like this. In fact, the only reason he's ever been able to beat you is because he can predict your movements. An opponent who'd stand against you with no knowledge of how you move, would lose in a heartbeat.

Either way, he was starting to grow bored. Smoothly avoiding punches and kicks can only be so much fun. Finally, he throws a punch back. And of course, it hits Inumaki square in the stumic, sending him flying back into the building.

Sukuna blinks in a bored manner at him. Yeah, this guy definitely wasn't familiar with him.

" You've got no idea where the little shit is, do you?"

Inumaki coughs, holding his stumic as he gets up. he's visibly sweating the situation. Sukuna shakes his head again, glancing at the mess of curses running around behind them.

" We've wasted enough time fighting. Just answer some questions of mine... please."

Sukuna hates the word please. Inumaki blinks at him, surprised, though his suspicious is confirmed. This must be the Sukuna from your universe indeed.

" Is Y/N here?"

Inumaki nods.

A new kind of feeling spreads through Sukuna's body. Hope, longing. He can't wait to see you again.

" Is she alright? Is she here?"

Inumaki shrugs his shoulders. Sukuna nods, turning to face the curses, who have slowly begun to bother citizens.

" Kay'.-"

He likes to pretend he doesn't care.

" You do you. I'll handle it here."

And just like that, he goes back to ripping through curses left and right. The display is disgusting, blood splattering everywhere. People around him seem to be uncertain whether to be terrified of him or not. However, he can't find it in himself to care.

As much as he hates it, you'll have to wait. He has to take care of these annoying, ugly creatures first.

-

Both your and Megumi's eyes simultaneously widen.

" Is that...?"

"A domain."

Both of you have arrived somewhere, you're not even sure where or why, but you're there, and that's that.

Allies of you are in there. without a doubt.  But how does one even go in there?  You've haven't reached the level or circumstance to create your own domain just yet, nor do you have the same raw strength Yuuji seems to have.

Both of you are sweating. Hard.

" Y/N. Hold onto my arm."

Megumi isn't looking at you as he speaks, his gaze focused on the ball in front of you as he approaches.

You send him a furrowed brow. However, noticing he's clapping his hands together, your eyes widen.

" You can do a domain expansion?"

He nods.

You follow his command, your hand holding his arm gently.

" yeah- since the mission under the bridge.- It's not perfect yet."

In any other situation, he might've reveled in the feeling of your hands on him. But you've got business to take care of.

Within seconds, Megumi's domain is up and running, and soon enough, he breaks through the barrier of the other domain.

" Maki!"

This domain is built up of the ocean. And even though it's made up of cursed energy that's not your own, you can still feel it.

It's is build on the power of the ocean. Of a place where you're at your most powerful.

Meanwhile Maki's eyes widen.

" Megumi!"

A little too enthusiast, the two of you had launched yourselves into the domain, sending you jumping quite a height that left you feeling a little bottomless. As someone who's natural element is water, you don't mind bottomless, usually. However, you find that you do mind the bottomless feeling when you're skyhigh, where you can see the floor coming towards you. From the corner of your eye, you can see something red and black manifest. A weapon. You understand the gist, and throw it in Maki's direction.

" Y/N. That octopus thing is the source of this domain."

You nod at Megumi.

" Don't worry, I've got your back. "

Meanwhile, the octopus thing turns towards the two of you.

" You dare voluntarily invade my domain? How foolish."

At once, he sends some kind of huge eels at you. You reach out, your own cursed energy managing to take his own in a chokehold. If it was only you right now, you'd test your limits, and see if you could take control of his domain. However, you're not alone. You have people to watch out for. So instead, you deploy your cursed technique in ways you're well aware of.

Creating the rings of water you're so fond of, you manipulate his cursed energy to your will. the cursed energy in the form of water cuts through both eels, and the two of you safely make it to the ground while Maki whacks her special grade cursed tool across the curse's back.

" What is that?"

" Cloud jumper."

You nod at Megumi's words. You've never seen that weapon before, but Maki makes good use of it, whacking him with it once again.

Meanwhile, he also sends two more creatures at you. You furrow your brows, stepping in front of Megumi protectively. Megumi opens his mouth to warn you, call you back. But he's left to watch in amazement as you manipulate the water below to cut into the first creature with ease. You turn your attention to the other one, but Nanami beats you to it, his 7:3 technique hitting yet again.

" What about the other two?"

Nanami asks, holding a protective stance in front of the two of you.

" Ino's tapped out. Itadori is acting on his own."

" I'll cover you, please focus on your domain."

You glance at him.

" Let me handle this. I can use the curse's cursed energy. "

Nanami's eyes are wide as he looks at you.

Nonetheless, you nod at him with confidence.

Nanami nods. You glance quickly at Megumi, noticing his bleeding nose. Your eyes widen in worry.

" Megumi-"

" I'm fine. Cover for me.- Nanami, the octopus thinks our domains are pushing for control. But that's not what I'm after. I'm going to create a hole. The one we entered through is already sealed. It's harder from the inside, but I can make it large enough for someone to pass through for a few seconds. The edge of this barrier is right below me. I know because I can feel it. I'm ready anytime. All three of you need to jump in at once."

Nanami throws a serious glance back at the teenager.

" The two of you are not planning on staying behind, are you?"

" I think I have a chance in taking control of this domain. I'll get Megumi and me out of here."

Megumi grins.

" We're risking our lives. But we're not planning on throwing it away."

Soon enough, Nanami is yelling  for the other two to join.

" Quick, right below Fushiguro's feet."

You focus on the curse in front of you, creating a huge circle of spinning water around you. If it were to get to close, it would cut right through it.

However, your focus falters as someone enters the domain.

Especially as you see who it is.

Fushiguro Toji.

[ A/N:  Thank you for your quick reactions, besties <3, drabbles will join after Shibuya arc.]

Soon enough, you, Megumi, Yuuji and Ino are in front of the veil.

" Nope, it didn't even budge."

Ino is watching with wide eyes as Yuuji punches the veil, which rumbles in response.

"N-nice try."

It must be his first time seeing Yuuji's strength.

"  The veil's sturdy. We'll have to find a weak spot and put a hole in it, even for a moment. We can't do anything without getting inside."

While Megumi's speaking, Yuuji casually drop kicks a curse. You're not useless either. You've uncapped one of your two water skins, and have created a whiplash of the water, hitting curses left and right.

Ino glances at your skill, impressed. He's never seen anything like it before.

" Water Manipulation."

You answer the question he hasn't asked just yet.

His brows raise in surprise. He's never heard of that technique before.

Meanwhile, Yuuji blinks.

" Huh, why not?"

"Yuuji, this is the veil that keeps sorcerers from entering."

You point out, cringing as Megumi's Demon Dog digs into the curse Yuuji just drop kicked like it's a meal.

"Veils are for cover and protection, right? Which fundamentally means that the one who deployed it must be inside."

Soon enough everyone is brainstorming. It gets down to it that there's a good chance that the one who cast the veil is outside of it. Besides, if they were inside, Yuuji's punch must've worked. Which it didn't.

" By that logic, they must've centered it around a place that stands out, don't you think? because the increased risk of discovering would make it even stronger?"

You find yourself nodding to Megumi's words, eyes flicking to the high building behind you. If Megumi's words were true, then the building behind you would be a good, not so subtle, hiding spot.

" A place that stands out?"

All three guys follow your line of sight.

Cerulean Tower.

Soon enough, you've formed a plan together. Megumi would summon Nue, and Yuuji would use the cord he has kept around casually in his pocket (Maki said It'd be useful) to catch them off guard. You and Ino would take out the veil, which must be in some kind of bolt looking object, according to Yuuji.

Soon enough, the plan is set in motion. Yuuji casually takes all three curse users by surprise, taking them with him with the cord, exactly according to plan.

Ino glances at the odd bolt like sealed object.

"So this is the foundation of the veil?"

Yuuji nods, explaining that the conditions  for the veil were already inside.

soon enough, Ino breaks the object.

However, the veil doesn't break.

" There must've been three."

You mumble, judging by the dots in the ground. You glance at the curse users, as do the others. Ino seems to catch sight of the curse user who's holding the remaining two at the same time you do. Yuuji is already chasing at the curse user by the time the two of you notice.

He calls something to Megumi as he launches himself and the curse user off the building, leaving you and Ino to deal with the two in front of you.

A grandma and her grandson, judging by the looks of it.

Literally, that's how they address one another.

" Now, I've got my underclassmen to look out for. I better snag some achievements and hit that first-grade rank."

You're not sure why he's sharing this with you, or the curse users.

You don't bother asking, or uncapping either of your water skins. You need to be careful in your use of water. It's not like you can ever run out of a water source to be exact, but still.

You'd rather not turn to those measures.

Beside you, Ino summons something.

" Y/N. Join your classmates. I can handle this."

He'd rather keep all the first years together, just to be sure.

Your eyes flash with surprise. You glance at the curse users.

" Are you sure?"

He nods.

You search his features before nodding. Turning around, you make quick work of jumping down. Still, you scream as you plummet right towards your friends. You hurriedly uncap one of your water skins, manipulating the water in it to the ground, the water reaching for you like an elegant wave. Megumi and Yuuji both seem surprised at your arrival.

" Wasn't the plan that you'd stay with Ino?"

" he wanted me to join you two. What's the situation looking like?" You ask.

The two of them nod in front of them, towards the man who lies rolled up on the floor.

" Huh? His body is clean."

You point out with a raised brow. Megumi nods.

"Exactly. Get up, sneaky old geezer!"

For a moment, the man doesn't respond. He simply remains there, ignoring Megumi's words.

" Good grief. Kids these days got no pity for us old folks."

You watch as he gets up, snapping the wire around him like it's nothing.

" We can't waste time here."

" We won't. Y/N, follow me in."

You glance at Yuuji in surprise, before nodding, enforcing your whole body with cursed energy.

He must've remembered the training the two of you did not too long ago.

-

" Hey Y/N, we know you're pretty skilled with your cursed technique, but are you also good in hand to hand combat? Considering you always keep enemies at a distance."

You glance up from where you're resting in the grassy field of the school, leaning against Nobara.

" What kind of question is that, Itadori? Do you want to fight her?"

Nobara scowls at him from beside you. You smile at her expression.

Yuuji hurriedly shakes his head.

" Ah, no. I didn't mean it like that. I was just curious.-"

" I am. My mother wasn't sure if I would manifest a technique, so she made sure I knew how to handle myself if the other kids of the clan ever decided to pick on me. I used to fight a lot."

Nobara raises a brow, turning to you in surprise.

" You did? You don't seem like the violent type."

" I'm not. At least, not anymore. I used to be before I manifested my cursed technique. I was a late bloomer as well, it didn't happen until I was 8.- But I used to pick a fight with any cousin who looked at me like I was dirt. That was a lot of cousins. Not Noritoshi though, we got along since the day we met. our mothers are fond of one another."

" Ah, right. You're part of the Kamo clan. what was your life like there?"

You blink, shrugging.

" Hard. The Kamo clan hates me. My technique renders their own useless."

They both nod. Truthfully, they don't really remember what the Kamo clan's technique was. Nor do they really care.

" Anyway-"

You get up, dusting off your clothes as you turn to face him.

" You wanna try fighting me?"

Yuuji blinks.

" Are you sure? I don't want to hurt you."

" For that you need to be able to hit me first.-"

You grin at him.

" -Besides, I'm you twi- Sukuna's best friend. You think he ever goes soft on me during training?"

Yuuji hums, grinning as he too gets up.

Nobara moves to the side of the field, your water skins laid beside her.

Megumi blinks, approaching the scene as he rubs his shoulder.

" What're they doing now?"

" Training. How was your training with Maki?"

He grits his teeth, flexing his arm.

" Instructive."

She smiles.

And then you and Yuuji move.

You're surprisingly quick on your feet without your water skins adding extra weight on you. You dance around Yuuji like some kind of dancer, jumping around weightlessly as you avoid his hits and kicks. Sometimes, you dab at him right after you've avoided yet another punch.

Eventually, you haven't necessarily beaten Yuuji. However, he gives up, dizzy from the countless circling movements you move in.

-

Eventually, you end up making an easy gateway for Yuuji to punch through, time and time again. In between You and Yuuji's combined attacks, Megumi makes his way through with demon dog, along with aiming at him with a cursed tool. The old man is swift as well, avoiding most hits, and for some reason remaining unaffected by any other punch that does hit him.

Eventually, he takes out a pocket knife, shallowly slicing through Yuuji. Yuuji doesn't seem affected, back to punching him in the same second. Megumi comes between the two smoothly, Megumi's toad shikigami slinging the curse user into the wall.

" Itadori!"

" No worries, just a scratch."

You follow the man's movements with your eyes, uncapping a water skin to heal the shallow cut on Yuuji anyway within seconds.

Yuuji nods at you in thanks.

" Such power. Such promising features."

How was this man still uninjured?

" Makes killing you all more worth it."

Beside Yuuji, you can see Megumi puzzle as well from the corner of your eye.

Was he uninjured because of some kind of cursed technique?

" Demon Dog's claws can injure even special grades.."

" I hit him with all I got too.."

" Then why..?"

You can hear the frustration in Megumi's voice.

You wonder the same thing.

" Then how is he completely unscathed?"

You furrow your brows.

" He can't have something like cursed energy nullification.. right?"

All you get in response are furrowed brows of concern.

And then the man's on you again.

" We were free. But that freedom was taken from us! By Gojo Satoru!"

He manages to whack a kick right into Yuuji's face, Megumi's sword slicing right through the fence behind him.

" I will never retire!-"

Megumi blocks his kick, the blunt back of his sword hitting the old man right in the head.

Sadly, he doesn't relent in his nonsense.

" I'll trample over the weak until the day I die!"

He manages to break free from Megumi, though Megumi does end up slicing him right across the face with his blade. You kick him away, creating a small distance again.

" Seriously, what's with this guy?! I get that he's tough, but there has to be more to it!"

For a moment, you and Megumi try to puzzle his technique together, considering it has to have to do something with that.

"Hey! Gojo Satoru is here in Shibuya! You better leave the foundations for the veil behind and run!"

Both you and Yuuji glance at Megumi in question.

" What lousy bluff. Gojo Satoru is sealed. You guys yelled it out for the world to hear. Why do you think we curse users are out? Otherwise I would be sleeping."

So he can't beat Gojo sensei. It can't be cursed energy nullification.

" Fushiguro~, you suck at lying."

Yuuji's pouting, laying a hand on his best friend's shoulder.

"It's okay though. You tried."

He's being dramatic, all puppy eyes. You can't help but giggle slightly at the behavior. Megumi seems more annoyed by it.

" Shut up."

" If you don't want to fight, I'll kill you now."

" get ready."

You do just as Yuuji says, this time uncapping one of your water skins.- But then Megumi's eyes widen.

" Rabbit escape."

At once, multiple rabbits hop up, out of Megumi's shadow, they block the man's vision. One ends up in Yuuji's arms, and you pick one up too. It's surprisingly soft. You didn't except shikigami to actually be soft. (  You've asked your universe's Megumi to let you pet his rabbits. He's always said no.)

You glance at Megumi in surprise.

" Did you figure out his technique?"

He nods, tugging Yuuji back by his hood.

Inverse, that's his technique. The harder you punch, the less damage he receives.

Megumi has a plan, one you can follow with ease. Act like you don't know. You will land an exceptionally useless attack, Yuuji a rough one, and Megumi in between. It should render his technique.

It takes only a few moments, and then you're back. Megumi opens the attack, landing max elephant right on the man's head.

The man grins.

" Is that all that you've got?"

Max elephant dissipates.

" Come down and face me like a real man!"

The man yells up to where Megumi is currently stood on top of a lantern pole. Megumi simply points down.

" That's more their style."

Yuuji straight up throws a car at him.

Where he gets the strength from, you don't know.

You follow him in, your water skin uncapped as you chase after him, a long elegant line of water following you at your command. Megumi and Yuuji follow in too, charging up for what would be 'the final blow'. All three of you at once, locking him in position. At the very last minute, your manipulation on the water loosens. It turns into one big splash, only strong enough to push over a young child at most. Megumi summons a toad shikigami at the last second, and Yuuji punches him square in the stumic.

The attack works. He's coughing up blood. You don't stop there, the three of you each punch him one by one, landing a hit square on him.

He doesn't like it.

" Don't get cocky over that, you brats!"

The three of you jump away. Yuuji charges up with cursed energy, pretending to hit him square in the face once more. However, just before his fist is about to make contact with the man's face, he drops all cursed energy. The power behind it disappears, instead landing a raw punch square on the man's face.

it seems like Megumi's plan worked out.

" You're surprisingly adept."

" Really?"

Yuuji cocks his head at Megumi's words.

You smile, about to add on to their conversation, when you feel something.

It's like a call, pulling at your cursed energy.

Your smile falters, turning around in the directions where you can feel it coming from.

Was there perhaps another you in this universe with cursed energy? Or was it someone else?

-

" Pickled mustard leaf?"

Sukuna is angry. And disgusted. And irritated. especially irritated. How dare you disappear at the hands of the cursed spirit, causing him to chase after you? He's got zero idea what's wrong with Shibuya today. He can't leave, because of the stupid veil that keeps him from leaving. He's beating up curses left and right. ripping through them with a wicked blade, it's edges reversed, jagged, meant to inflict pain on curses ( for his own sick amusement, you cringe at it every time you see it.) there's something odd about the curses he's ripping through though. They're bleeding.

Nonetheless, he keeps going, only pausing to look at Inumaki.

" Who the fuck you callin' Yuuji?!"

For a split moment, tension between them rises. Sukuna raises his free hand, probably to swing it down for added dramatics, when he pauses, completely stilling. his eyes are fixed on his bracelet, the water in it swishing in a particular direction, even when he stands still. Sukuna's eyes are wide, realization hitting him.

Meanwhile Inumaki studies Sukuna. He looks like Yuuji, and he looks like Ryomen Sukuna, Yet he's completely different. He's much more buff, and for some reason, he's tall, taller than Inumaki, and taller than the Yuuji he knows. This must be your Sukuna. His tattoos are similar, yet not the same. There's no mark on his forehead, no slits under his eyes that should represent another pair of eyes.

Meanwhile, Sukuna's focus shifts to Inumaki, his gaze hard. He still has no idea what's going on. As far as he's concerned. He's in his Shibuya. He has no idea about what's going on just yet.

" Where's Y/N?"

Inumaki tenses.

He's heard that your Sukuna is different, kinder even, yet he's still intimidated. He's got no cursed energy. Yet the blood that's staining the jagged side of his blade, splatters of it on his face and clothes too, make him appear much more menacing than most sorcerers he's had to face. Especially with the cold look in his eyes.

He looks like he's ready to kill him.

[ A/N: Smoll heads up, I'm only catching up to what happens after Shibuya now and well,, err- it's a puzzle for the story line. After the Shibuya incident, updates will be slow.

ps. Would you be interested in silly little drabbles to keep you guys engaged in the story about Y/N in her universe? ]

" Where are you even going at this hour? "

Sukuna glances up. He'd left the door to his room open, for no particular reason.

Meanwhile, Megumi glances at the many cursed tools he's got spread out over his desk and bed.

" M' gonna find the little shit. "

Megumi raises an unimpressed brow.

" You've been looking for her for a while now. It's futile. "

Sukuna had expected the reaction. Especially from Megumi. Yuuji would've asked him to join, but he wasn't putting his 5 minute younger brother in danger like that.

" Then I suppose I'm going for an evening stroll. Does that suit your taste better? "

Megumi blinks in annoyance. This is why he didn't get along well with Sukuna. He was stubborn, much like you. Megumi sighs, thinking for a moment before shaking his head.

" Should I wake Yuuji and Nobara to join us? "

Sukuna glances at him in question.

" That curse beat Y/N. And she's not weak. None of us have a change of beating this spirit alone. "

Sukuna and Megumi have a similar issue. They have a sincere issue in showing vulnerable emotions. This is probably the most sentimental they'd ever get with one another, and if you were here, you would be proud of them.

Either way, Sukuna shakes his head.

" We've beat cursed spirits in pairs before. The two of us will do. "

Megumi doubts the two of them will do.

His eyes are wide, focused on the spirit in front of them. He's not sure if they found it or if it found them.

" Heheheh. How cute. Two little Jujutsu students. "

The spirit is laughing, mocking them as it looks down at them from their elevated position.

Megumi's eyes widen, noting it's cursed energy. It was heavy, powerful. Megumi doubts this is a good idea.

" We should run."

Of course, his pleas fall on deaf ears.

Sukuna is smirking at the spirit, his eyes wide in a kind of rage that even shakes Megumi. He knows Sukuna was a force to be reckoned with. Sukuna's heavenly pact made him one of the most powerful people around, even without cursed energy. With Y/N, he was unstoppable.

" Where's the little shit?"

The curse raises a brow. ( Is it even a brow?), before catching on, its lips (are those even lips?), pulling into a grin.

" Ah, you mean that cute little girl?"

Something flashes in Sukuna's eyes. His hand reaching for his most powerful weapons.

" What did you do to her?"

It's Megumi who asks, ready to summon Nue while Sukuna clicks the Chain of a Thousand Miles and Inverted Spear of Heaven together.

The curse's eyes flash over the special grade cursed weapon. It knew it could exorcise it.

It knew it needed to avoid that from happening.

Nonetheless, it keeps up it's act, pretending to be as confident as before.

It crouches down, leaning its head on the palm of its hand as it looks at them.

" I sent her away. You won't be able to find her."

Megumi's eyes narrow, before widening, realizing it's cursed technique.

" Rabbit escape!"

As the shadows create a large amount of rabbits, Megumi grabs Sukuna by his collar  avoiding him from attacking. Sukuna is surprised. Annoyed too, but he trusts his classmate.

Soon enough, they're hidden away from it's view.

" It can teleport."

" What?"

" It cursed technique must be some kind of teleportation. And it's range must be huge, considering we can't find Y/N anywhere. We can't exorcise it. We have to capture it."

-

[ Canon Jujutsu Kaisen Universe ]

" So we're just meant to wait here?"

Takuma is the one asking the question you're all wondering.

Nanami nods.

" Yes. Our job is to exorcise a spirit if he misses it."

" That sounds awfully boring."

" We could help him. It's a group of special grades right?"

You try your luck. You never know how it will end up after all. That feeling of unease still in your stumic.

Takuma grins at you.

" Ah right, you're from a completely different universe right? You don't need to worry. Our Gojo sensei is the strongest!"

He's beaming, yet you don't share the sentiment.

" That shouldn't mean that he has to carry that burden alone."

Nanami's eyes widen at your words, studying your expression. Nanami has met a lot of people. He's never heard anyone say words like those.

" Is your Gojo the strongest as well?"

You nod.

" Yes. He's quite the same. "

" Ooeh, what about me? Have we met in your universe?"

Takuma can't help himself, curious about where you're from.

" Yeah. We've done a mission together actually. "

Takuma remains excited, asking you multiple questions about your own universe. You answer them as best as you can. After a moment, it falls silent again.

" Hey Megumi, where's Nobara and Yuuji? I thought they'd be with us."

He shakes his head at your question.

" Yuuji is on Mei's team.-"

His eyes glance towards Nanami subtly, like he wants to add something. He seems to decide against it, continuing.

" And Nobara is with Maki on team Zen'In."

You pout.

" There's a girl team and I'm not even invited?"

" Ah, don't worry Kamo! We're fun too!"

" Besides, you should be glad. They've got Zen'In's old man on the team. Do you have him in your universe?"

You nod.

" I think so. Never spoke to him though."

" You should be glad. He looks down on women. Maki hates him. I'm sure Nobara hates him too by now."

While the three of you had been conversing, Nanami checks his phone, subtly catching all of your attention.

" The transfigured humans who were waiting inside the building are now attacking non-sorcerers. Which is why we're ending standby and moving in."

Soon enough he's stepping forward, shrugging his shoulders off. He lays his jacket over his arm neatly.

You wonder where he'll leave it.

" We may be acting against orders, but if we wait any longer,  it might be too late."

He sighs.

" This, my other concern is-"

Both Takuma and Megumi take his words right out of his mouth, while you listen patiently.

" The other-"

" The other veil that keeps sorcerers outside, correct?"

Takuma glances at Megumi in surprise, animatedly moving behind the two of them as they converse.

" Why deploy the veil now that Gojo sensei is inside?"

" Either something has happened inside, or they were waiting for this moment as part of their strategy. What I can say for certain is that they wouldn't move without a plan. Y/N and I focus on the enemies who lowered the veil. You two do your best to rescue civilians."

All three of you nod in understanding.

And soon enough, all three of you enter the veil.

You wonder if the other teams were doing the same.

You're nervous.

You have no choice but to fight the disfigured humans now.

However, just as your team stepped a few ways in-

" Nanamin!"

Was that?-

" Nanamin, are you here?!"

That must be-

" Gojo sensei has been sealed!"

You lock gazes with Megumi, confirming your suspicious. This was, without a doubt, Itadori Yuuji.

Everyone's eyes widen.

" You three, change of plans. "

He turns around.

" We must join forces with Itadori at once. If he has indeed been sealed, it could spell the end for every human in this country."

Yuuji continues calling for Nanami like a child calling for his dad while you make your way over.

In fact, he doesn't stop even when you're right behind him, until-

" Oi!"

Megumi has to hit him in order to get him out of his his trance.

" Ohh- Fushiguro, Y/N, Nanamin. And... who?"

Eventually, Yuuji ends up explaining what has gone down while the four of you were outside. Or rather- Mechamaru explains.

Apparently he's been carrying him around like an earpiece.

You follow his story, yet you can't help but notice the folded black and white fluff to your left. Wordlessly, you take a few steps towards the cat, and pet it.

It purrs in response. Megumi watches what you're doing, but no one comments on it.

" Geto did it?"

" The thing that's acting as Geto Suguru, to be precise. Shibuya is overrun with curses right now. It's overrun by special grades, weaker curses, and curse users who follow Geto, as well as transfigured humans and civilians. "

" Then attacking through the subway from neighboring stations does make sense. But in order to do that, we need that veil lifted."

" This is an emergency. We'll have to multitask."

You can see Nanami thinking as you get up from where you were petting the cat, which has now run off. Unbeknownst to you, he wanted to keep an eye on you. He couldn't allow you to die, sorcerer or not. This was not your universe. Who knows what would happen to your own if you were to die here.

However, now that things have gotten more dangerous, he needs to be able to work without distracting himself. Gojo told him about your skills. You were nowhere near weak. You weren't the strongest either. Gojo also commented on Megumi's fondness of you. You'd be safe with your classmates.

" Some requests can only be submitted by a first grade sorcerer. I'll step outside and take care of those with Ijichi. In the mean time, I want you four to do something about the veil that's keeping the sorcerers out.-"

He informs everyone, while walking past you. Finally, he turns to Takuma. He's seated on the ledge of the building, the cat you had previously been petting now curled into a rice ball next to him, enjoying his attention.

" Kusakabe and honorary first grade Zen'In should be inside the veil as well. If you meet them, please explain the situation  and request for their assistance. Though that shouting earlier might've done the job."

Takuma nods in understanding, his expression serious as he takes in every word. He must look ul to Nanami to react like that.

" And lastly, I'm leaving these three in your care."

And then Nanami is gone. He's disappeared through the door on the rooftop.

Takuma is quiet for a moment.

" Ino?"

Yuuji checks.

" You guys! Before we start the mission, let me explain how serious the situation is. Starting with the two main issues with losing Gojo sensei. First! The fall of the Gojo clan. The Gojo clan is a one man team of himself. His whims and influences have saved many sorcerers.- Itadori, Kamo, you're one of them, correct?"

You nod.

" That's right!"

Yuuji looks silly as he confirms.

Takuma doesn't appreciate that.

" Take this seriously! All of those people are gonna find themselves in trouble, or worse, executed.-"

You swallow.

Why was the Jujutsu world so mean?

" The second issue is the collapse of the power balance. Those who have remained in the shadows because of Gojo will make their move.- If society is over disarray over the first, and the second will start a war, we will lose. That's how Nanami and I see it. And what do you think happens if we lose?"

Megumi looks nearly bored as he replies.

" At the very least, the age of humans in Japan would be over."

Takuma grins at him, tugging at his beanie/mask.

" I see you get the idea. Let's get going! By the time Nanami gets back, that veil will be destroyed!"

Takuma is visibly motivated, slapping a shoulder of each of you in encouragement as he walks past you.

" Let's save Gojo Satoru!"

-

[ Parallel Jujutsu Kaisen Universe ]

The two of them, were, in fact, not enough.

Sukuna finds himself wishing you were here so you'd summon that pretty blade which was as light as a feather. He could swear the sword you kept with you was simply more powerful than whatever he has in his hands now.

He hisses as he lands on top of a building harshly. From the corner of his eye, he sees Megumi do the same. The spirit was much stronger than they had initially thought. However, both refuse to give up, and soon enough, they're charging against the spirit at the same time.

The plan was originally simple enough.

Get the Chain of a Thousand Miles wrapped around it, and force it to Jujutsu Tech.

The plan was still running anything but smoothly though.

" Two against one? That's hardly fair."

It's mocking them though, charging up a white ball and throwing it right at Megumi. Both boys' their eyes widen. It had been physical, close up combat up until now.

It's too quick, and Megumi has no time to avoid. Sukuna throws his Chain his way, and Megumi is close to grasping it- when the white ball hits him

First, it's a regular explosion at a decent size, nothing that would permanently put Megumi on the sidelines of their battle.

Then a huge soundwave follows, sending both Megumi and Sukuna in opposite directions.

Sukuna is quick to get back on his feet. He doesn't doubt that Megumi is too, unless he had landed harshly into a building. ( In which case he'll have to suck it up and get over it- Sukuna needs him.)

The spirit raises it's brow at him.

" You've got no cursed energy."

Sukuna scoffs, grinning.

" Yet I can still beat your ass."

The curse grins in response. It opens it's mouth to say something, but Sukuna is done with his shit. Mercilessly, he throws the Chain skillfully his way. The curse had been stupid, probably underestimating him as it had gotten closer.

Now, Sukuna tugs it closer, bringing them face to face with one another.

" Last chance before I hand you to Gojo sensei. Where. Is. Y/N?"

The curse's eyes, which were originally wide, turn into smiling crescents.

" Why don't you find out?"

It's smiling, happy.

Suddenly, a golden ring appears below him. Sukuna's brow furrows.

And then he's falling.

He makes a mistake, holding the end of the Chain in front of him.

Giving the curse a window to escape.

Of course it does.

And then he's falling again.

Eventually, he hits his face flat to the ground.

" Fuck's sake-"

As he gets up, he wipes a hand over his nose. It's bleeding. He scoffs in annoyance.

He looks up, studying his surroundings.

Wait-

Why was he in Shibuya?

Now more annoyed than before, he huffs, finally getting up and grumbling to himself in annoyance.

He turns to leave, intending to take the bus back to Jujutsu Tech.

However, he walks straight into...something?

He furrows his brows in confusion, glancing up, he only notices how dark the sky is now.

A veil.

Why was there a veil in Shibuya?

A few days have passed since the day you've made dumplings with Megumi and Yuuji at the asscrack of dawn, and currently, your classmates and you find yourselves at the Kyoto school, send there by Gojo who's heard something from Utahime.

" Gojo informed you all about the mole right? "

You're currently stood in the garage of the school, with Utahime who had just received all of you.

" Yes. "

" We think two or more are in contact with a curse user. One a higher up or principle- I won't be able to do anything about that. The other would be someone feeding information to that higher up. That's our target. They're only a suspect at this point, so our objective is to capture and interrogate. "

" So who from Kyoto is it? "

" huh? "

" Why else would they include us, Tokyo students? "

Nobara has a very good, and sharp point. You hadn't even thought about who it might be yet. You smile at Yuuji's next words.

" Kugisaki, you're a genius. "

Meanwhile, Utahime sighs.

" The suspect is Mechamaru. "

Soon after, she's leading you through the school, towards the basement. It's a little ominous, but you roll with it. You're not alone after all. Besides, you're a Jujutsu sorcerer, you shouldn't allow silly fears to intervene in your work.

" The real Mechamaru, Kokichi Muta, is in this basement. Now, it's not like he's suspicious. It's more that no one else is. The process of elimination leaves us with Mechamaru. "

Yuuji opens the first door, leading through yet another hallway of the basement. Utahime is the first to step in it.

" Mechamaru's technique is Puppet Manipulation. Thanks to his Heavenly Restriction, it's range extends through all of Japan. Unregistered puppets could very easily do the work of a mole. "

" You'd think? It'd draw a lot of attention if you ask me. "

" Even if that puppet is as small as a mosquito? "

" Ah yeah, I guess that's an option too. "

Yuuji and Utahime's conversation stops there, as Utahime stops in front of a door. She points at it.

" We're here. "

She seems nervous as she opens the door. That makes you nervous. Still, you're ready if a battle were to follow.

The room is empty, all of you stand there.

" Uhh... "

" He got us. "

" Though on the other hand-"

" Now we're certain it's Mechamaru. "

-

" Are you sure you can heal her? "

Megumi has turned to face you, his hand on the door handle of the hospital room Tsumiki is resting in.

You shake your head.

" I'm not. I hope I didn't give you the confidence that I was 100% certain that I can. I have managed to do so in my own world a little over 3 months ago, but I'm not certain this will be the same. "

He nods, understanding your words and where they come from. They were a lot of differences between your universe and his. There was still the option that you couldn't manage to, for a whole lot of reasons.

He slides the door open, and the both of you step in.

The first thing you notice in the room is the odd signature of cursed energy being emitted from Tsumiki's body. It was heavier than in your own world. How... Odd.

Sharpening your features, you uncap your water skin. Megumi is resting with his back against the door, making sure no one comes in.

You manipulate the water to follow your movements, so of course, it does. A slim line of water forms a circle around Tsumiki's body. You continue your movements, the water spinning in a warm circle around her. However, you notice something odd.

There's 2 curse signatures. The one you've felt before, back when you were fighting those cursed spirit-humans, the same as that domain. And something stronger. It's like it's placed on top of it. Like a cap on a bottle, not allowing anything to escape. Like a scar, a mark. Some kind of cursed energy you're completely unfamiliar with.

Megumi's eyes widen. The ring of water you're manipulation is flowing peacefully, smoothly, and seems to have a faded white golden hue to it. It emits a soothing feeling, even though it's not surrounding him. Was this what your reverse cursed energy was like?

After a few moments, you stop, manipulating the water back into it's skin. Your eyebrows are furrowed as you think, trying to figure out how it is this way. Megumi blinks at you, his expression neutral.

" Was that also reverse cursed technique? "

You nod, still deep in thought.

" Yeah. It's a form I have no guidance for, so it's hard to get a hold of. Shoko has taught me the general technique for reverse cursed technique. The one I've used to heal you before. This is different. It can lift curses. "

" .. But not this one? "

You remain silent for a moment after his question.

" This is going to sound stupid... But it feels like there's 2 signatures. I just don't understand why, or how. One feels stronger than the other. My technique is too weak to reach the weaker one hidden below the... Other one? I don't even know what it is. "

Megumi's brows furrow in concern, eyes on his sister as well as he studies her.

" That's... Weird. "

You nod.

" It is. "

Was Tsumiki cursed twice?

-

" Hey, Y/N, is everything alright? Are you enjoying our universe so far? "

Gojo's smiling, laid back as he always is as he leans back against the back of his desk.

You smile back at him, nodding.

" Yeah. Everyone is nice to me so far. Thank you for helping me settle. "

He grins at you.

" Anything else you need me to take care of? "

Your smile slowly falls, your brows furrow in concern.

" Not exactly. It's more about the Shibuya thing- I've got a bad feeling about it. Let me come with you. "

You're not one to not trust your gut. Especially in situations like this. He grins at you, finding your concern adorable. He walks closer to you, placing a comforting hand on the top of your head.

" Ah, that's sweet. You must be my favorite student in your universe. But you don't need to worry about it. I'm the strongest, after all. "

You sigh.

" Still-"

" I'm serious, Y/N. I'll be fine. I've put you with Megumi, Takuma and Nanami. You're on back up anyway. "

You sigh, realizing that you wouldn't be able to get through with him.

" Okay. If you're certain. Just... Don't freeze if.. I don't know.. Something unexpected happens. "

His smile slips off his face, now replaced with confusion as his hand slips off your head, returning to his pocket.

" Like what? "

" I don't know..? Another you maybe? I've got no idea, honestly. "

You sigh again, looking at the floor. Maybe you really were a little paranoid about this for no reason.

-

" It's a veil that only traps civilians inside. They can enter, but not leave. Sorcerers and assistant supervisors seem to have no trouble moving in and out. "

" Any reception? "

" No. All communications will have to be done outside of the veil, through us assistant supervisors. "

Ijichi is stood across from you, Takuma and Nanami. Together, you're team Nanami (you snorted originally when you were named that.) You were surprised, but also proud to hear that both Megumi and Ino were now under evaluation for promotion. The only reason you were not was because, well.. You're not from here.

" Well, that's awfully inconvenient. "

Meanwhile, Takuma taps Megumi on his shoulder, drawing both of your attention.

" Fushiguro, Fushiguro, Kamo- Here's a fun fact. The conditions of a veil can only be defined in terms of 'things with cursed energy'. That includes humans, cursed spirits, and cursed objects. Blocking cell phone reception is just a side effect of the veil- You can't actually block or allow reception using barrier techniques. "

Megumi blinks, you do too, leaning over to get a look at Takuma.

" Ah, yes. We know. "

Nanami speaks over his shoulder, addressing the three of you.

" Ino, they're both exceptionally talented students. Keep the senpai act in check. "

" What's that supposed to mean, Nanami?! "

Nanami doesn't respond, turning his focus back to Ino.

" Lastly, where is Gojo Satoru? "

You hope the ill feeling in your gut is just a joke.

Question: would u guys like me to continue after writing through s2 by following the manga or would u like me to wait for s3? (I'm not all too sure myself- but for now my preference goes to the manga.)

[ A/N: I'm so excited to write Shibuya arc, I've got sum good shit planned. ]

Chapter 5: It's Like That

summary : In which you're isekai'd from your (own) parallel Jujutsu Kaisen universe to the canon universe.

wordcount : 2.8k

Pairing: Jujutsu Kaisen X Reader, eventually Character x Reader (idk who yet tho)

The mission you guys were called for was in fact, not top secret. That mission was about a week ago now. Your current mission? Also not top secret.

In fact, the four of you have just wrapped it up. It was in the city, and now, you're all left with what to do for the rest of the day.

" I think I'll go see a movie. "

Yuuji shares, scrolling through his phone to see the many titles which are currently playing.

" What about you, Kugisaki? "

" It's still early. I think I'll go see a movie. "

" What about you, Y/N? "

Over the past week, you found yourself growing closer with Megumi. It was quite silly. The Megumi of your universe didn't exactly get along with you all that well. Your Yuuji could stuck to him like glue, but your Megumi and you could not sit in the same room for longer than an hour before the two of you start bickering. (Yes, it went down between the two of you that often.) On the rare days, the two of you would get into a physical fight.

That usually ended with you annoying him to no end, considering your fighting style revolves around other people their movements. It would eventually also escalate with him using his Ten Shadows technique on you (yes, you manage to piss him off that bad, that often.) Which in turn, would send you running. Usually to Sukuna. Not necessarily because he could beat the Ten Shadow technique, but simply because no one but you ever dared to bother Sukuna. It was a simple, unspoken rule. One Gojo loved to disrespect often.

" Ah, I think I'll join Nobara. "

He nods while you grin, linking arms with Nobara who mirrors your expression.

" Alright. I'm heading home. "

Moments later, Megumi is on his way home.

" I'm going to the movies, what about you guys? "

Yuuji asks, waving his phone as you and Nobara are stood on the staircase leading towards the metro station. You let go of her, in turn of facing him.

" What are you watching? "

" Human earthworm 4."

He looks so proud as he says that.

" Who even watches that?! I haven't even seen 1,2 or 3."

" I think you'd be fine jumping in in 4-"

Yuuji begins, explaining the plot to her. You cringe. It's not your type of film.

" -So the theme is actually love! "

Yuuji exclaims, all excited. You blink.

Ew, worm man.

" I don't want to see some wormo man. Regardless of the theme. "

" It's human earthworm though. "

" I'm not going. "

" Awe, Y/N, what about you? "

" Uhm, no thanks. That movie franchise is... Not my thing. "

" We're gonna go shopping. Wanna join? "

" I just said I'm going to the movies! "

" Okay, see you later then. "

" Later Yuuji, have fun! "

The two of you walk along for a moment, agreeing about how stupid the whole concept of human earthworm is, when-

" Excuse me, do you know Itadori Yuuji? "

-

Moments later you, Nobara, and a girl whose name is Yuko, find yourselves at a simple cafe, as she explains the situation to you.

" This is me at our middle school graduation ceremony. "

She hands her phone to Nobara, and you peek over her shoulder. Woah, now that's a glow up.

" Woah, wait, that was only six months ago! What happened to you? "

" You did have quite the glow up. You're gorgeous!"

" Ah, thank you. I did grow 15 centimeters. And with moving to Tokyo and the stress of changing environments... "

" Woah... You're a real Sato Kuruko. "

" That's Itadori. -"

She's showing the two of you a different picture now. You recognize Yuuji in a different school uniform, only noticing now that he's really growing better into his features.

You hadn't gone to the same middle school as Yuuji in your own universe, instead, you were home schooled with the other kids of your clan. It's where you and Noritoshi learned to get along so well. He was a bastard child, yet next in line as the chief because of his technique. You're rejected because of your technique.

" On graduation day, I worked up the courage to ask him for a picture. I actually wanted to get his number too, but it was already decided that I would be moving to Tokyo. "

She continues to explain, her eyes downcast, a little sad about the memory.

" So when I saw Itadori earlier- I thought maybe with how I look now, I might.... "

You and Nobara catch on, giving each other incredulous looks.

" Wait, Yuko, you mean-"

You begin, looking at her like some sort of silly cartoon, Nobara finishing your sentence for you.

" - it's like that? "

Yuko replies with the same energy.

" Yes, it's like that. "

Barely a moment later, Nobara is calling someone. Ijichi, who was on his way to drop off Megumi. It doesn't take any effort for the driver to turn around. You doubt Megumi is aware of it.

" Someone who knows Itadori well is on his way here now. Let's hear what he has to say. "

" Uhm, if either of you are also interested in Itadori... "

Yuko starts, though Nobara's deadpan expression pulls a giggle from you.

" No. "

Her eyes look dead serious as she says so.

" Even if hell and earth were to dance the lambada, not happening. "

You snort at her words.

" Yeah, you don't need to worry. I'm not interested either. "

You smile reassuringly at Yuko. A few moments later, Megumi has arrived at your table, looking agitated. You smile at him.

" All right, what's the big deal? "

" Hey Megumi, does Itadori have a girlfriend? "

Nobara doesn't waste time today. She's getting straight into business.

He raises a brow at her.

" Hue? "

" This is Ozawa Yuko. She's actually something, something and something like... "

Her explanation is shady, both her and your expression serious.

He breaks out a sweat, understanding the situation.

" So it's like that? "

Both you and Nobara nod, sweating the seriousness of the situation as well.

" Yes, it's like that. "

He ends up sitting down beside you. (Figure out the seating plan yourself, I'm not gonna make it complicated.) With a black coffee.

You will never understand his preferred taste.

" I doubt it. He didn't seem particularly upset about moving to Tokyo all of a sudden. And he's got one of those posters hanging up in his room. Anyone with a girlfriend wouldn't put up something like that, right? She wouldn't like that. "

Meanwhile, Nobara seems to be more concerned about his choice of drink.

" Are you the type who drinks coffee black around girls to show off? Please stop. "

You blink as well, suddenly curious. Was he?

He's annoyed by her words.

" Don't forget, you're the one who called me. And I always drink it black. "

Yuko finally speaks up now, an adorable blush on her face.

" Um, by the way, do you happen to know what his type is? "

" A tall girl with a big ass. "

Both Megumi and Nobara turn to blink at you. You blink back at them.

" What? I grew up around him and his- around him. "

You blush in embarrassment, realizing you could be wrong. There's been enough proof of differences between your universe and this one after all.

" Well, you're correct either way. He mentioned something about liking tall girls. "

Yuko, Nobara and you seem to communicate telepathically, like some kind of electric signal spreads between the three of you. You clink your glasses together, and Nobara slams her phone on the table.

" You've got a shot! I'm gonna summon Itadori! You're okay with that right, Yuko?! "

She nods.

" Yes! "

The messages between them are silly, and fast. And now, all that's left to do is wait.

Not that you have to wait long. Soon enough Yuuji joins the scene, a paper bag of stuff in his hands.

" Oh!, Fushiguro's here too? "

Both you and Nobara blink. That was fast.

Suddenly, you hurriedly glance at Nobara. She hadn't told him why he needed to come. Hadn't told him about Yuko. There was no way he could recognize her when she changed so much- Nobara seems to realize too, sweating the situation, holding out her hand to quickly introduce the two of them to one another.

" Itadori! This girl is-"

" Oh!, it's Ozawa. How did you end up here? "

All three of you are impressed. Holding up imaginary 10s for his recognizing skill.

Yuko and Yuuji end up spending the rest of the afternoon together, with Megumi, Nobara and you tagging along behind them. Megumi even felt soft enough to hold Yuuji's stuff for him.

" Was that really okay, they could've at least exchanged numbers. "

Megumi points out, as Yuko leaves by train later that afternoon. You agree. Kind of. They had seemed to hit it off after all.

" She exchanged hers with me, so it'll be fine. More important, Fushiguro, Y/N, I've finally recognized my own feelings. "

Both of you give her a curious glance.

" Hue? "

Was she about to admit to having feelings for him? You shouldn't be surprised. The two got along really well, after all-

" The idea of Itadori getting a girlfriend before I get a boyfriend really pisses me off. "

Maybe not. You grin at her words, an imaginary embarrassed sweat drop running down your brow.

Of course she'd say something like that. That sounds more like her.

Megumi doesn't seem surprised.

" Is that so? "

" Sorry for the wait! "

Yuuji jumps back in between you and Nobara.

" Walk behind me. "

You blink at Nobara's words.

" Huh, what's this? What're you talking about? "

Yuuji seems confused. A feeling you relate to. Megumi doesn't seem to care.

" Here. "

He's handing Yuuji back his bag of stuff.

" Here, while you're at it. "

" Huh? What's this? "

" Wouldn't you feel bad for making a lady carry them? "

She's handing him her own bags now.

" Sure. "

Yuuji doesn't seem to mind.

" Want me to carry your stuff too, Y/N? "

You smile at him, shaking your head. You're only holding one plastic bag loosely between your fingers, the bag full of snacks.

" Oh, shoot! The movie's about to start, let's go! "

Yuuji's jogging before any of you actually can check the time.

" Hey! Wait up! Don't take my stuff with you! There's no way I'm watching some wormo man! "

Yuuji ignores her words, turning to Megumi.

" Fushiguro, Y/N, wanna grab some popcorn? Fushiguro, you like caramel flavoured right? "

" Don't just assume we're all going to watch wormo man. "

" I told you all, it's human earthworm. 4! "

-

You regret watching human earthworm 4.

There had been a little too many horror like sound effects and jumps in it, and now you didn't feel like sleeping. Your fear of horror films was a bit childish, but it rarely bothered you.

And so you find yourself leaving your dorm. You want to make dumplings. But you don't have all the ingredients, so you need to go to a 24h convenient store.

" What're you doing? "

Your skin shivers before you jump, turning around to face the intruder who's sneaked up on you.

" What the- Don't sneak up on me like that! "

Megumi blinks plainly at you.

" Where are you going at this hour? "

" 24h convenient store. I can't- I'm gonna make dumplings. "

" Why? Do you really need to at this hour? Don't we have some in the freezer from the last package Yuuji got? "

" Yeah, but I want to make them fresh. "

Megumi blinks at you again, before sighing.

" Okay, well, give me a second to change. I'm coming with you. "

You hadn't even realized that he was in his pijamas. You're in your pijamas too, an oversized sweater and a comfortable pair of leggings. You don't feel bothered enough to change though.

A few moments later, he returns.

" Okay, let's go. "

Thankfully, the walk towards the convenience store is short. Only 10 minutes. The silence between the two of you is comfortable, as you walk side by side down the stairs of Jujutsu Tech.

You eye the forest surrounding the school grounds warily, like something might jump out to attack you any second. Like you don't have powers that literally render every living creature. Megumi glances down at you, realization finally making it's way into his brain.

" Are you afraid of the dark? "

The wrong realization. But don't worry, he'll get there.

You blink.

" Oh, uhm, err- something like that. "

He's admittedly puzzled. So you weren't afraid of the dark. Maybe you've had a bad dream? He doesn't decide to push it. Instead, he softly takes your hand, holding it in his own, distracting you from your fears.

You glance at him, a blush on your face. You smile gratefully at him, squeezing his hand as your peaceful silence returns.

It doesn't take you long to get the remaining ingredients, and soon enough, the two of you are back at the dorms, now stood in the kitchen.

" Thanks. You didn't need to come with me you know? "

You smile at him as you unpack the bag. He blushes, looking away.

" I wasn't going to let you go alone at this hour. "

He mumbles it, but it's just loud enough for you to hear.

He eyes you preparing, before moving to stand at your side, nudging you away.

" I'll cut up the vegetables. "

" Ah, thank you. "

There's a certain peace that resides between the two of you as you work in the kitchen together. It was nice, getting to know him this way. Your Megumi and you would've been bickering already.

Once you've set the dough, you help in cutting up the remaining ingredients. Noticing he's deciding on the amount of ginger to cut up, you smile at him.

" You can add extra if you'd like. "

He raises a brow at you.

" You like extra ginger? "

" Not necessarily, but you do, right? "

He blinks, his eyes open in amazement. How did you know that?

" Does your universe's Megumi like extra ginger too? "

You shrug.

" Not sure. We don't actually get along that well in my universe.- I noticed you ordered that chicken dish that's ginger based, and how you were measuring just now. I just put one and one together and guessed. "

The quick smile you send leaves him blushing once more. He smiles at you. He hadn't realized you were so perceptive.

His eyes return to his chopping work.

" Tsumiki used to make dumplings with me when we were younger. "

You smile as he softens around you, before your features sharpen.

" Oh, right, I completely forgot about it, but I wondered if I could visit Tsumiki sometime? I healed her in my universe, you see. "

Megumi's eyes widen, the grip on the knife he's holding loosening. Were you that powerful? You mentioned being able to use reverse cursed energy, but were you really able to apply that to illness as well?

" I- you healed her? With your reverse cursed technique? Why? I thought we didn't get along in your universe? "

You nod.

" That's true. Our relationship in my universe is hard to explain. I wouldn't borrow the you from my universe my charger, but if he'd need a kidney I'd offer it. We originally did get along. Until something silly happened. Gojo introduced us at a young age. "

Megumi's eyes remain wide. In all honesty, he was mostly still surprised that you might be able to heal her. He also didn't exactly understand how your universe's version of himself didn't like him. You were amazing. And if he were to be selfish, he wished you'd stay.

" Hey, you guys are still up- what are you making? "

Both of you turn to see Yuuji standing in the kitchen's entryway, holding an empty bowl he must be returning. The moment is gone, the conversation something you'll return to later.

" Yeah, we're making dumplings, wanna join? "

Chapter 4: Homesick

Pairing: Jujutsu Kaisen X Reader, eventually Character x Reader (idk who yet tho)

You find yourself seated in a familiar spot. The scenery is the same as back at home, the sun setting on the sight of Tokyo Jujutsu Tech. There have been a lot of days where you and your best friends have lost track of time talking to one another late at night in this very spot.

You're worried, mind running with scenarios of how home would be doing. How is your own world? Are you having this human body - cursed spirit issue too? The one you had been fighting was quite tough- were your classmates alright? Was your best friend alright? Or had everyone written you off as dead? Considering you disappeared right after a battle, it wouldn't surprise you. You're not sure. Your eyes sadden, losing yourself in your thoughts. You refuse to believe that everyone believes you're dead, that they've given up on you just like that.

You glance down at your bracelet. It's ordinary, crafted from simple wood. It matches your best friend's bracelet back at home. You wonder if his works. It's filled with water, imbued with your cursed energy. That way, he could always find you when he needed you, and you could always find him when you needed him. You doubt it works. You can't feel your connection to it currently, your cursed energy with you and you alone.

" Are you okay? That last mission seemed to be quite rough on you. "

You glance up, only noticing Yuuji standing there now. Had he been standing there for long?

" Ah, sorry, I didn't notice you. I'm alright. I've just got homesickness at the moment. "

He hums, noticing your sad eyes as he sits down beside you.

" The way you stood up for Nobara was badass. It was cute too though. Are you two close in your universe? "

He's calm, watching the scenery with you. Your presence is somewhat comforting. New, yet so oddly familiar.

You hum.

" Yeah, we are. I was so happy to learn that another girl would be joining our class. We hit it off right after meeting in the city for the first time, when we went to pick her up. I think that got Sukuna a little jealous. "

You're smiling fondly at the memory, meanwhile Yuuji has to remind himself that you're talking about a different Sukuna, not the one he's harboring.

" Ah, he's your best friend right? "

You hum.

" My one and only. "

" What about us? "

You turn to him, blinking.

" What about us? "

" Are we close? You've mentioned that we used to be close when we were younger. "

" Ah, yeah. We were inseparable as kids. Until you grew more athletic and developed a love for horror. I'm a whimp- I don't like horror at all. It makes me downright unable to sleep. Sukuna would laugh at me when I came over to sleep over one random night, because of my fears. I wanted to prove him wrong, so I watched a horror movie with the three of you. It backfired, and I was unable to sleep. Sukuna ended up feeling guilty enough to watch Pokemon movies with me all night. We grew closer after that. I realized that I too was one of the people he has a weak spot for. In my universe, you're one of those people too. "

Yuuji blinks, not having expected that at all.

" Sukuna as my twin.. The idea of that leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. "

You laugh softly.

" I think it's weird you share a body with him in this universe- and that he had 20 fingers. And that you swallow them for breakfast, basically. "

Yuuji laughs, agreeing with you. A comfortable silence settles over the two of you. You lean your head on his shoulder for a moment. Back home, you were touchy with your friends, often linking arms with Nobara, or straight up pulling Sukuna along to where ever you pleased. He always pretended to hate it, but you know him better than that.

Yuuji doesn't seem to mind, instead relishing the comforting gesture.

Yet, you can't help yourself from asking him the next question. You need answers.

" You've mention that you've... Killed, instead of exorcised before.... "

You're careful in your words, allowing him to stop you if he wants to. When he doesn't, you continue to carefully speak.

" I just wondered... Do you maybe know why? - As in why they were in a human's body? "

Yuuji shakes his head, eyes on the floor.

" I don't. There's a curse who's strong enough to transfigure people though. I know you're afraid too, but if we don't figure out how to send you home soon, you might have to fight more human-cursed spirits. "

You nod at his words, your eyes downcast on the floor.

" I don't like it either. I hope we manage to kill patchface and these cursed spirit people before anything too rash happens though. "

You hum, about to reply when-

" It's because of you! You took me in, and now the severed parts of my soul have awakened. "

Your eyes widen, head raising to stare at the mouth and eye that has sprouted on Yuuji's cheek. What the fuck was this?-

" To help lots of people, was it? Brat! People are gonna die because you live! "

" Hey, don't tell that to Fushiguro. Don't you dare. "

Yuuji's stoic, different. It's obvious he doesn't like Sukuna.

You don't like this Sukuna either. You can tell he's nothing like your Sukuna.

" And what are you looking at?! "

" You're an eye and a mouth on my friend's cheek. "

You deadpan the obvious as you blankly stare at him.

He cackles, Yuuji slaps his hand over him, trying to shut him up.

" That's enough out of you. "

It doesn't stop him, Sukuna's mouth appearing on the back of Yuuji's hand.

" You don't belong here! You should die! "

" That's rich, coming from someone who's a mouth on a hand now. I'd say you should die. "

While you're busy mocking him, Sukuna has an unsettling realization. He's met you before. You're not from here, and you're definitely not supposed to be here. You were a sorcerer he was forced to face back in the Heian era. Your reverse curse technique was strong, strong enough to be used as a weapon. Your domain too, was one he hated. He absolutely hates you. He needs you dead before he can carry out his plans of regaining powers. Facing both Gojo Satoru and you would set him at a huge disadvantage. One that not even his current plans could face.

However, there's no need to rush in killing you though. It appears that you don't even know your potential just yet, your body protected with regular cursed energy.

Yuuji scoffs, slapping a hand on his own to stop Sukuna from spouting nonsense. Thankfully, he disappears.

" Soo, that's your Sukuna. "

" Yeah, sorry about that. "

" It's fine. I don't take things randomly appearing mouths say to heart. "

Your smile eases Yuuji's worries, his previous guilt gone, replaced by a warm feeling. The two of you sit in silence a little longer, enjoying each other's company and watching the sun set on Jujutsu Tech.

-

A few days pass, and you find yourself and your classmates in Tokyo's shopping district.

" Aren't you buying way too much? "

Yuuji releases a puff of stress, holding the many bags Nobara has shoved in his arms.

You're walking a few paces up front with her, your arms linked together. You have bought some stuff too, considering that was why you were here in the first place. There was no answer on when you could return to your own universe, no one has any idea how just yet. Your financials are finally properly supported by Jujutsu Tech, and you've entered the shopping district. You're only really buying stuff you need, though that is still quite a bit, leaving you with three bags.

You're only holding one. For some reason ( an unspoken one, everyone was surprised when he offered), Megumi was carrying your other two bags. You've promised you'll buy him a crepe as a thank you, but he's brushed you off, telling you it was fine and that you should save the money.

" Half of that is yours, you know? "

You blink at her, that's not true.

" This bag is all that's mine! "

Just as Yuuji raises his bag to show her, one threatens to fall out of his arms. He manages to catch it.

" Drop one and you're dead. "

" Ah, Yuuji, do you maybe want me to carry some bags? "

" No Y/N, Itadori is a strong guy. He's fine. "

" I don't think being strong is part of the issue Nobara-"

And then.... One of the clothes she bought slips out of the open bag, on the floor.

Everyone's eyes widen.

You raise your hands, attempting to stop Nobara, but as expected, she's already punching him. Megumi tugs on the back of your uniform, holding his own high in embarrassment as Nobara scolds Yuuji.

" Come. Let's pretend we don't know them. "

He's already walking a few steps away with you, arm around your shoulders, When his phone rings.

He takes his arm off you, taking out his phone.

" It's Gojo sensei. "

You're not sure why he's informing you. Maybe because you know him as well.

Their conversation ends soon enough, and he turns around, facing Yuuji and Nobara again.

" What? "

Finally, Nobara releases Yuuji.

" Gojo sensei is calling us. "

" Huh, why? "

Nobara's pouting, you guess that she wanted to spend the whole day lingering around Tokyo's shopping district.

" It's a mission, 'a top secret one'. "

You snort, the words familiar.

" Ah, so this Gojo sensei is the same as the one back in my universe. "

" Does your Gojo sensei say that often as well? "

You grin at Nobara, nodding.

" Last time he called us for a 'top secret mission' was because he wanted to get crepes and didn't want to go alone. "

You smile fondly at the memory. Eventually, it had only been Yuuji, Nobara, Megumi and you. Sukuna wasn't around, because he was simply god knows where. You hadn't felt bothered enough to find out back then. Your best friend had been offended that you had gone without him. You only found him hours after the place closed. As a peace offering, you spent your money on expensive fruits (strawberries) and chocolate, dipping strawberries in chocolate late at night.

Nobara laughs at your words. Some people are apparently the same no matter the universe.

" Why not go? Gojo sensei still said it is top secret after all. It must be big. "

You smile at Yuuji softly. He was so cute sometimes.

" Yeah well, Y/N is right. He does say it all the time. "

Yuuji hums at Megumi's words.

" Yeah, so what? "

All four of you exchange smiles, and make your way back to the busstop. This time, you link arms with Megumi, simply because he's the closest. He shoots you a surprised glance, but his expression softens, features softening into a smile.

This Megumi was so different of your own. This one is nice to you.

The fight between you, Yuuji and the cursed spirit was running relatively smoothly. You're pleased to find out that this Yuuji is much like your Yuuji. Neither seem to care about how they're getting the job done, as long as they get the job done. He's athletic, you notice, jumping from spot to spot and launching punch after punch.

You don't need to do much. One of your water skins is uncapped as you use it. You're really just slashing this curse back Yuuji's way, trapping him there, keeping him there. However, you can't ignore that something really does feel off. It's definitely a curse, but it's body' fluid composition felt so... Human? It was unsettling.

As a Water Manipulator, you could feel fluid compositions. People are made up of at least 60% water. You can use them as your doll if you wish to do so, which is why you were feared among curse users in your own world. Cursed spirits are always made purely of cursed energy. And so far, you haven't come across a cursed spirit which power was based on water.

Eventually, things take an unexpected turn soon enough. Nobara is getting pulled out of the barrier, for some reason.

You're quick to follow, and soon enough the both of you are stood against the curse.

Which was an odd thing. It seems to pretend to be a gentleman, spouting about how he'll let the two of you go considering your gender, leaving you both confused.

And then it hops back. It looks ridiculous. Things get even more odd when Yuuji and the other curse jump in. Apparently the weird curse in front of you has something disgusting on its back.

Things escalate. Nobara comments on the rotting smell that comes from him, and he grows angry, activating it's cursed technique. Soon enough, he's launching blood your way.

You move out of the way- just in case, but you're pleased (yet also incredibly unsettled) to find out that it really is blood, even if it is poisonous.

The curse angers visibly.

" You should run, with your back to me! "

Nobara and Yuuji have no other choice, so they do. You keep your eyes on him, gathering the blood he's launching your way as you prepare to counter attack.

" How about I rip your blood sculpted wings off instead? "

It doesn't like your words. Not at all. In fact, it launches so many attacks that even you have to pull back, throwing messy counter attacks as you jump backwards. It's laughing, while it manages to draw you back. It's incredibly quick, which makes it so hard to keep up.

Nonetheless, you don't give up.

Eventually, you manage to turn the tide. Suddenly, he's at your mercy, as you continue to summon his attack and make it your own. Unlike Blood Manipulation, you can't change the condense of blood, so you'll have to rely of the speed of it. You charge up the circle of it's blood that was already starting to pick up pace around you, and send it at him in one go. Like always, it creates a sword like effect, slashing through everything. The curse's eyes widen, and it has no choice but to jump back, all the way.

Your attack had a bigger hit than expected, as a few trees fall to the side- you jump to avoid them. Oops. Regret fills your senses as you realize that the curse is dashing off on you.

" Hey!- "

You're glaring. How dare he run off on you? You chase after it, however, it's much quicker than you. Your eyes widen as you catch up, your friends now both injured.

" There's no need to worry. My younger brother's blood doesn't have the same quality as mine. And even mine won't kill you unless you would be drowned in it. Though it will hurt like hell. This is where our technique starts-"

He raises his pinky, and immediately black, tattoo like flowers run over your friends' wounds. Your eyes widen as concern overtakes your features. Shit- you're a healer first. You have to save them. For a moment, you panic in silence, not sure what to do, or what to say. Obviously, this isn't the time and moment to heal them.

Meanwhile, the curse is breaking down how his technique works. The consequences are pretty clear, once either him (should we even refer to it as him?) Or his brother activate the technique, they only have about 15 minutes to live.

Your eyes harden as you realize what you three have to do. Healing comes later. You've never come across a technique which effect was like poison. You don't know if you'd be able to stop his technique while it's working. It's better to have them release their technique altogether and heal them properly after that.

Yuuji and Nobara seem to think the same thing.

" Would you like me to end you right away? "

The curse was too bold with it's actions.

" A technique that grants victory once it hits... That makes you strong. Too bad for you though, that makes me the worst match for you! "

Nobara is bolder. She's confident, yet somehow not arrogant. You watch in amazement as she plunges one of her nails in her arm, activating her straw doll technique.

In response, both of their body's blood flow changes into one of stress. You stop all together. What are those things? They can't be curses. They simply can't be. Their body is made of blood. They're alive. You wouldn't be able to exorcise them, because it would be killing.

You're distressed now, unable to move. Can you even kill? You've never deemed yourself a good person, nor a bad person. You're not the type to forgive easy, or at all in most cases. You hold grudges a lot. You're not a bad person either. You're not fond of bullying, or picking on people. You're just,, you. You're not a killer though. Something was going on in this universe which was not natural, even for Jujutsu. Spirits that have taken bodies... These bodies could've been living an actual life before they were taken... You can't do this. You can't kill them.

Meanwhile, the actual fight takes place. Yuuji is the first to throw a punch. First at the blue curse, before he switches with Nobara.

You finally seem to snap out of it when-

" You bitch! "

Like we've mentioned before, you're not a good person.

" Who the fuck do you think you are to call my best friend a bitch?! "

You're launching yourself at the curse as well, joining your friends yet again. It's blue brother whines out desperately, but you force yourself to ignore it.

His brother seems to release their cursed technique, and Yuuji now gets into physical combat with him, throwing punch after punch after punch. The curse is quick to react, enabling his stupid technique, Wing King once again, launching strikes of blood Yuuji's way. You're quick to intervene, summoning it's blood your way as you create the circle you're so fond of, charging up for your counter attack. Yuuji doesn't rest either, following your opening as both him and Nobara simultaneously manage to land a black flash on both of them.

Your eyes widen in amazement. So far, you've never managed to do so before. The blue spirit barely survives, and your expression saddens as Nobara activates her hair pin technique, ultimately resulting in killing the curse.

" Kechizu.. "

It's the other curse. You feel guilty. He did refer to him as brother, after all.

" I'm sorry brother, I couldn't protect him... "

Nobara's eyes widen, staring at the curse.

She must've not known either. You realize.

Out of nowhere, a truck suddenly comes from the tunnel. Everyone jumps out of the way in time. You lose focus, the curse's blood falling to the floor below you, it's poisonous effect evident as it burns into the ground.

The curse is quicker to react, jumping on the back of the truck and keeping one of the two people in it hostage. Nonetheless, Yuuji chases after it. With result too, as Nobara releases her straw doll technique on it's brother, dead on injuring the curse, who falls right into Yuuji's clutches.

Yuuji kills him.

He doesn't look happy to do so.

Afterwards, the three of you are heading back, towards Megumi. You're lost in thought about the events that just occurred, having forgotten about their injuries in favor of mental injuries you have no doubt created for others.

Those two curses called each other brothers. It made you wonder if there was another one perhaps, maybe a whole family. Yuuji's voice cuts through your train of thought, reminding you where you are.

" Kugisaki, are you okay? "

" Oh, yeah. Though this might leave a scar. I wonder if those guys are okay, considering their truck just went speeding off. About the poison, I wonder if Shoko will be up this late. And if she will be sober- What are you fidgety for? It's creepy. "

She's asking Yuuji the question. Meanwhile you press a gentle hand to her uninjured arm.

" I can fix that, actually. If that's okay. "

Nobara nods, and you get to work. You first manipulate the poison out, managing to tell it apart from her own blood with surprising ease. After that, you uncap one of your water skins, manipulating the water around your hand as you press the cold substance to her arm's injury. First, she cringes at the cold, but then she grows more comfortable as a comforting feeling settles in her skin. The water you're using to heal glows, and her arm feels all warm and comfortable.

Meanwhile, the two had continued talking.

" Wasn't this the first time you killed something instead of exorcising it? "

Your eyes widen, your focus momentarily quivering. He's done this before? Does he know what they are?

" Yeah, what about you? "

" I have, once... No that's not correct. It was three people. "

" You seem to be doing way worse than me. To put it blunt, I don't care. As a sorcerer, you tend to run into these things. I'm no Fushiguro, but ultimately, there's only so many people we can save. "

Her words are cold, but real. Meanwhile you finish up your work, her skin smooth and healed once again, like it never happened. She continues to explain why she feels like that, and you somewhat do understand. You wouldn't have won if all of you had refused to kill it like you did, especially with a technique that strong.

" Woah, your healing is indeed impressive, Y/N.- How do you feel about killing? "

Her blunt words make you cringe as you continue to walk.

" Uncomfortable, to be honest. I'm not sure if I can kill one if the situation would ever demand it of me to be honest. They were crying for one another. I never had to fight something that understood emotions before. "

Yuuji nods in agreement.

" I feel the same. I'm happy we survived, but still, tears were shed over the lives we ended tonight. "

For a moment, a silence settles over the three of you.

" Then I guess that makes us accomplices. "

Nobara points out, causing you to cringe yet again, the weight of the word uncomfortable.

Thankfully, a moment later, the three of you come across Fushiguro... Who is passed out, beside the river.

" Fushiguro! "

" Megumi! "

All three of you call out in worry. You drop down to your knees beside him as he stirs, uncapping your water skin yet again in preparation, eyes scanning over him for injuries.

Megumi grumbles as he opens his eyes.

" Oh, you guys are back. Glad you're all safe. "

" W-We were so scared, we thought you were dead! Thank goodness! "

Both Yuuji and Nobara are in the back, holding hands as they express their fears to their dear friend.

Meanwhile, you focus on his health.

" Are you okay? Or injured? "

" Could you two at least keep it down? I'm okay, Y/N, but my head hurts. "

You pout at his stubbornness.

" Where? "

You're already summoning water around both of your hands, ready to help.

Megumi opens his mouth to say something, probably to tell you off with nonsense, when you notice the big red stain on the back of his head. You purse your lips, scolding him softly. He leans into your touch, a new comforting feeling spreading through his skull.

" No wonder your head hurt. "

" Don't go to sleep with a Sukuna's finger in your hand. That's dangerous. "

Nobara's words draw your attention. You glance at Megumi's hands, noticing that he is indeed holding a disgusting looking long nailed red finger-

" That's a-? You swallow that thing whole? Like nail and all? "

" Pretty much. Should I eat it? "

" It's not like left overs, you know? "

" We're not sure how many fingers you can handle. So don't eat it. You look the least worn down though, so take it. I'll tell you again though, don't eat it. "

Yuuji huffs, probably annoyed by Megumi's way of addressing him currently, as he approaching. However, surprise takes over your features as a mouth appears on Yuuji's hand and fucking swallows it. Ew.

You watch in disgust which turns into amazement as you notice familiar marks appearing on his skin for a moment. Your heart skips a beat at the reminder of your best friend, who is so far away.

Silently, you wonder how he's doing.

[ Parallel Jujutsu Kaisen Universe ]

" You should really stop staring at your bracelet like that, it's getting a bit depressing to watch. "

" You wear a blindfold, do you even see anything? "

Gojo hums, sitting down on the floor beside his student, on the stairway leading up towards the mountains. He knows this spot all too well. Y/N and Sukuna would sit here often. Something about liking the view. Gojo doesn't really get it. It's just trees and buildings. He doubts Sukuna gets it either.

" I have the six eyes, remember? "

All he gets in response is an annoyed sigh from the teenager. Sukuna didn't get along well with people older than him. He lacked respect, in multiple ways. His parents were more fond of his twin, simply because he was more outgoing, naturally nicer. People didn't typically get along with the boy at all. Something about him being too intimidating, too rude, too disrespectful. The tattoos on his face were a stark reminder that he doesn't really care. Somehow, he did manage to be close friends with you though. Gojo will never understand how. The two of you were pretty much complete opposites, yet you balanced each other out just fine.

The six eyes never told him, but he didn't need any ability to see the bond he shared with you. It was unique, deep. It reminded him painfully of him and Suguru. Sukuna doesn't view you like the sacred healer you are. He sees you just as you, just like how Suguru used to view Satoru as himself.

Gojo sighs softly, his easy going smile leaving his face, making room for more serious conversation.

" I know losing your best friend is hard. But you have to-"

" She's not dead. "

Gojo sighs, having expected that response. He wouldn't believe anyone who told him his best friend would be dead when she had literally disappeared out of nowhere.

" Sukuna-"

" She's not. I'm 100% sure. Something isn't adding up. "

" She could have fallen in the river, -"

" No, look. "

Gojo glances at his student's phone, noting the messages.

Mine

Where are u?

This isn't funny

I made gyoza without you while using your secret recipe

Gojo can't help but grin, noting the oddness of the messages.

" Even when gone you can't be nice? "

" That's not what I'm talking about. "

[ The number you're trying to reach is not in use ]

Gojo's brows furrow behind his blindfold. That indeed is very odd.

" Besides, did you just hear yourself? Y/N losing when around a river? "

" You never know, if she was knocked out she could've been drowning-"

" She's not dead. "

Gojo's eyes glance at Sukuna's bracelets below his blindfold, the water in it limp, ordinary. He didn't understand exactly how it worked, but somehow it always drew Sukuna to you whenever he needed to find you, no matter where you were. It would flow, like a river leading him towards the sea. The only reason for it to stop working would be if you were dead, or really that far away, but where would you be.

Sukuna sighs, getting up as he glares at his sensei. He looks like he's about to say something, but then he scoffs, turning away, walking off.

Gojo figures that Sukuna is really just unaccepting of your death. If the boy had cursed energy, he'd tell him to get a hold of his emotions before he'd accidentally place a curse on you, though he doesn't have any, so you should be fine.

However, even Gojo has to admit that his most irrational student has a point. Perhaps he should look deeper into it indeed.

[ My dumbass only now figured out that Ryomen isn't Sukuna's name- it's his title 💀. Anyway we will be referring to Y/N's Sukuna as Sukuna from now on lol. ]

" Woah, you can bake! "

You blink as you turn, grinning once you spot Yuuji.

" Yeah. I like baking. Especially when I'm stressed. "

He sits down at the table in the dormitory's kitchen as you speak. Your chocolate buns are in the oven, the smell starting to waft through the building. They're nearly done, with only a few minutes left.

" I've heard about people who do that. Is our world stressing you out? "

You shake your head, continuing to dry the dishes you've been using. It's been a few days since you've been here, and things are going relatively fine. You're following the classes like usual. However, you miss your friends, and the people you're familiar with. You miss your room as well.

" Not necessarily. I just miss home. It's weird being in the same place when it's so different.- Ah, also, do you maybe have a charger I can borrow? My phone is dead, and I don't exactly have any money at the moment. My card doesn't work here. "

You put your phone down on the table as you ask. It's still dead, the screen blank. However, it's the only object you have from your own world. You make sure to keep it on you at all times, even though it's dead.

Just like promised, Gojo has been making sure you have everything you need. You've gotten an extra uniform, your old one fixed as well, which had a rip in the back. He even made sure your personal touches were added to it too. The only thing left was your funding, but that was coming along slowly as well. Currently, he was on a trip abroad, leaving for whatever.

Yuuji picks up your phone, studying it.

" I think Fushiguro has the same brand. You could ask him once he's awake. "

You hum, smiling at him.

" Thanks, I will. "

Soon enough, the oven dings, and you take out your buns, placing them on the stove top. Yuuji approaches curiously, beaming as he notices the nearly perfectly baked buns.

" Ohhh, they look great Kamo! "

You smile at his compliment.

" Thank you. And feel free to call me Y/N. I'm not particularly fond of my clan's name. "

Yuuji hums, focused on the bread.

" Can I try one? "

You hum.

" Sure, but be careful-"

It seems your warning was relatively useless, as Yuuji gasps, bouncing a bun before finally putting it on a plate he had previously taken out of one of the cupboards.

" -They're hot. "

You smile, shaking your head. This Yuuji wasn't all too far off from the guy you're fond of back at home.

" What's that smell? "

You turn, noticing Nobara popping her head in the kitchen/dining area as well.

" I made chocolate buns. They're fresh out of the oven, so they're still hot. Feel free to try one. "

Nobara too, beams at your offer, coming closer to study them.

" Woah, they're pretty Kamo! Your universe is lucky to have you. "

You chuckle at her words.

" Thanks. "

" What are you doing? "

Finally, Megumi joins the scene. He looks as unbothered as always, but you recognize that curious twinkle in his eyes from knowing him for years.

You beam at him.

" Megumi! I've made chocolate buns. I know they're not your favorite considering your taste palette, but still. "

You shrug as you speak, turned to set away the dishes you've used.

Everyone blinks at you behind your back. Still, Megumi comes closer and joins the scene.

" Were you and Fushiguro close? "

Nobara asks, before taking her first bite. She melts at the sweet taste, savoring it.

You shrug.

" Sort of. More like familiar with one another. We already knew each other before Jujutsu Tech. I already knew Sukuna and Yuuji before Jujutsu Tech as well. I was absolutely blessed by your presence though. "

Nobara beams at your words, her head held high as she grins confidently.

" How did you know Sukuna and I? " Yuuji asks.

" You two lived in the village close to the Kamo clan grounds. As a child I was closer to you, but somehow I ended up becoming closer with Sukuna instead. "

Yuuji's brows raise in surprise before he beams.

" We were close? I'm not too surprised if I'm honest- you're a fun person, Y/N."

You smile at him.

" Thank you. "

" The idea of Sukuna being my twin is so weird though. "

Meanwhile, Megumi watches you as you move about the kitchen, chatting away with Yuuji. There's something about you. He doesn't know exactly what. It just catches your attention. Your presence is pleasant. You feel familiar, at least to him. Probably because he does know you, in your universe.

He glances down at the dead device on the table, The phone catching his attention, he's not entirely sure whose it is. Judging by the phone case, it's not Yuuji's or Nobara's. So it had to be yours. It's see through, with stickers on it. There's so many of them, you can barely see the small hidden piece of paper behind it. And a photo card.

" Is this your phone, Y/N? "

He's asking before he realizes. His classmates freeze.

" Fushiguro! You've only met Y/N yesterday and you're already calling her by her first name, but not me? "

Yuuji is pouting as he speaks, perhaps a little sad his friend doesn't.

Megumi sends him an annoyed glance, though his cheekbones dust pink.

You approach him, humming.

" Yeah it is. Yuuji mentioned you might have the same brand. Do you maybe have a charger I can borrow? I haven't got any money to buy one yet. "

You pick up your phone, turning the device in your hands.

Megumi nods.

" I've got a spare one you can borrow for as long as you need it. "

And then he's gone, leaving to retrieve his spare charger for you.

Yuuji's mouth is open in surprise.

" Woah, he doesn't even share anything with us. "

" Hey Y/N, does your universe's Megumi have a crush on you? "

Nobara is grinning at you while she's asking.

You raise a brow, shaking your head.

" No, why? "

She grins again, shrugging.

" No reason, just asking. "

" Hey Y/N, can I have another one? "

" Sure, make sure to leave one or two for Nanami though. "

-

Currently, the four of you are in Nitta Akari's car. You're seated in the passenger's seat up front, while the others are in the back.

You're trying to follow her explanation about the case you're send to. Something about automatic doors being open, and someone dying soon after.

Nothing was really clear about it. Only that all the victims had gone to the same middle school. You recognize the name of the school, your eyes flitting to Megumi. He doesn't seem to notice, or if he does, he doesn't care.

Your first stop is at a classmate who knew all three victims. However, as you arrive, you find out he's dead. His funeral currently ongoing.

Left aimless, Nitta decides that you will stop by the school. The three of you arrive soon enough, and Nobara grins as she notices two punks, who seems to be ending their smoke.

" We got some punks over here. Let's beat em' up and set em' straight! "

She's grinning, twirling around a pole to face you as she juts her thumb to them.

Both punks don't seem too interested in your group, until Yuuji moves, revealing Megumi.

They both freeze up straight, and bow formally.

" I-it's good to see you! -"

Nobara and Yuuji lose themselves in the moment, and an embarrassed smile makes it's way onto your face.

" Heh, look at that. You actually get it. "

Nobara is all up in her headspace again, and Yuuji is quick to tag along.

" The aura just pours out, even when you try to hide it. "

" Fushiguro! "

They both look like a field of flowers had just wilted in front of them, now turning to their classmate.

" I... Went here.. For middle school. "

Megumi is looking away as he admits it, and you just casually watch the scene unfold. He brought this upon himself, so he can fix it himself too.

" That's surprising all right, but that's not the point! Look at me! "

" What did you do?! What did you do to them in middle school?! "

Both Yuuji and Nobara are trying to force him to get him to look at him.

" Nah, we should just ask them!"

" Hey, idiot A, idiot B, what did this guy do to you?! "

They finally look up from their formal bow.

" To us? Nah, every punk, every gang member in the area was beat up by Fushiguro. "

Both Yuuji and Nobara pause. You blink too. You didn't know that. You didn't expect that either. All three turn to him in question. He glances away, avoiding everyone's eyes.

" I... Beat... Them. "

Nobara and Yuuji return right back to trying to get him to look at them. They continue on like that for a moment, and you contemplate on helping your friend out, however, an old man approach, obviously a staff member.

" Hey, students of other schools aren't allowed here! "

" And who're you?! "

" He's obviously a staff member, Kugisaki. "

" We're here to investigate. "

Nitta shows her card, and things finally seem to settle a bit. In fact, Nitta feels secure enough to leave it in Megumi's hands.

Megumi starts asking the staff member questions, and few things are picked up. Apparently, there's a bridge nearby where odd, paranormal things happen often. That, along with something about bungee jumping from said bridge with a bungee jump court

After some more information being shared with your group by the staff member and school students, the five of you return to Nitta's car, trying to figure out if things would connect. ( And the school's staff member passes by- asking how Tsumiki is doing. Apparently they didn't know he had a sister. What was he being so secretive for?)

Eventually, you settle on that it makes sense, the bridge is said to be haunted after all. It'd be easy for a curse to take place there.

Later that night, Nitta drops the four of you off at the bridge.

" Are you sure that that's a good idea? "

You're worried, eyeing the plastic cord Nobara was wrapping around Yuuji.

Yuuji grins, giving you a thumbs up. " Don't worry, I'll be fine. "

You don't exactly believe him. Megumi glances at you, subconsciously appreciating your size difference. You look sweet, all worried over Yuuji like this.

" Don't worry. Itadori's strong. He'll be fine. "

Yuuji pouts.

" Still on a last name basis with me. "

You pat his back, before unclasping one of your water skins, just to make sure.

" Should I maybe wait below the bridge? That way I can heal you immediately if you were to... Drop. "

You cringe at the idea, strongly disliking it.

Megumi raises a brow at you.

" You can perform reverse cursed energy? "

You nod.

" Yeah, I'm better at that than fighting if I'm honest. Don't let the higher ups know though- I don't want them to use me for my healing ability, or stupid stuff like that. "

Megumi nods.

" Don't worry Y/N, I'm strong! "

If this is Yuuji's try at convincing you, you're not convinced.

Thankfully, he's uninjured as he's bounced off the bridge by Nobara (who seems to be having way too much fun with it) and bounces back up. The rest of the night is uneventful. There seems to be nothing there. Not a sliver of cursed energy, no residue, nothing.

By morning, Nitta has come to pick everyone up again, and you're pretty much back to square one. When suddenly, one of the school punks from earlier comes by, having brought his sister.

Apparently, she's went to the bridge too, and the automatic doors have been having issues around her too. However, that's not the worst part of it. She wasn't alone when she went to the bridge. She went with a group, one which Tsumiki was in as well. She too, had went to the bridge.

Your blood runs cold at the revelation. You've never been particularly close with her, but you have spoken before. You knew her well enough to care for her.

Nobara, Yuuji, and Megumi especially, are worried as well. Yuuji is quick to act, telling Megumi to check up on her. He steps away, thankfully doing so.

Silently, you wonder if the same things are happening in your universe as well. Was she okay? If you were back at home, you'd text her, check up on her. You're starting to feel a little useless, a feeling you hate.

Thankfully, she's okay, for now at least.

Moments later, Megumi is shoving Yuuji, Nobara and you in the car, mumbling nonsense about how he wants to ask questions to the staff member, that the danger level of the mission has gone up, and that it's best if you don't go.

You don't buy it, and thankfully, neither do Yuuji and Nobara.

" I don't buy it. He's up to something. "

Nobara is the first to point it out, Yuuji humming in response as you nod.

" Hey Nitta, stop the car please. "

Nitta glances at you through the car's rearview mirror, but does as you ask, pulling over barely a block away.

You nudge Yuuji, as you're sandwiched between him and Nobara.

" C'mon. Let's follow him. "

Yuuji's eyes spark as he gets out of the car, Nobara and you following. Nitta calls out something along the lines of 'be careful', but no one listens, instead, Yuuji yells back that he'd call her once you were done.

It's surprisingly easy to follow him, concerningly so. In no training you've ever had with him was it ever this easy to sneak up at him.

" You must seriously be at your wits end if you didn't notice us until now. "

Nobara states.

You eye him, a worried pout on your lips.

" You don't have to tell us everything, but at least rely on us. We're friends, after all. "

" You don't need to do this alone, Megumi. "

Yuuji and you are gentle as you remind him so.

" Tsumiki... Is still bedridden. "

Megumi's words cause your eyes to widen.

Your heart stutters as you realize the missing detail. You. You've been the one to heal Tsumiki, your healing ability exceeding standards by far. There was no you in this universe. There wasn't anyone who could've healed her like you did. You didn't know how she had gained the curse, you never really bothered to know. So this was how...

Megumi doesn't need to explain much more, Yuuji, Nobara and you were quick to catch up. You smile weakly as you follow the other two, pushing your thoughts away for now. Perhaps, you can ask him later if you could see her, perhaps you could heal her too, like you have back in your own world.

The order of approaching the curse was important in actually finding it.

You go at night, from underneath. At the bottom of the valley, there should be a river. Crossing the river would act as passing a border, like crossing from life to death.

Exactly as Nitta predicted, you enter the curse's unfinished domain. The first thing that catches your eyes is some kind of singing, gloopy looking thing. The second thing that catches your attention, is the other curse that joins the scene. It's mangled body blue, and unsettling to see.

" What's this? "

" Fushiguro, this one doesn't belong here, right? "

Yuuji charges up his fists with cursed energy, ready to go at it.

" Yeah. "

" You two handle the domain. Y/N and I will handle this one. "

You ready your stance. The gushes of red catches your attention, it's familiar molecule structure teasing your cursed energy.

Was that blood?

Chapter 1: Alone

You grimace as you open your eyes, slowly focusing on your surroundings. Your back is still throbbing. Your head actually feels quite peaceful. The light of the room is dim, and as your eyes focus, you notice the numerous seals lining the walls, stickered over one another. You're surrounded by candle lights.

You've heard of this room before. You never expected to be the one in it though.

" Ah, finally woke up from your beauty sleep? "

As you turn, you come face to face with your sensei, leaving you confused once again. He's seated on a chair, the back of the stool facing you as he's seated backwards. There's a casual grin on his face. He looks stupid. Like always.

" Gojo sensei? "

The last thing you remember is Inumaki not recognizing you, in fact, he even used his cursed speech on you, forcing you to sleep. Admittedly, it was one of the nicest naps you've ever had, but still.

" Ah, Inumaki told me you were confused- he also mentioned you're Sukuna's best friend. It got us quite worried, considering you seem to know quite a bit about Inumaki. You even mentioned that he's your upperclassman. "

You nod. You've got no idea on what to say. Yes, Ryomen is trouble. A little shit. Yet they were treating you like your best friend is some kind of horrible curse or something, worst of the worst.

" What do you know about me? "

You blink. Is this a test? It had to be.

" You're Gojo Satoru. You have both Six Eyes' and Limitless cursed technique. You're the first year's mentor- I'm one of your first years, actually. Uhm.... You lost someone you were close with once last year. We're close. In a respectful way. I see you like an elder cousin. "

Gojo's eyes widen below his blindfold, completely taken by surprise. You knew of Geto?

" How did he die? "

You tense. You hate that memory. Not to mention with how he's looking at you. He's mentioned that they used to be close. You found him at a bad moment, and helped him through it.

" I killed him.. "

" What? "

Now it's Gojo's turn to be surprised.

" I stopped the blood stream to his heart. I found you, just before you were about to end him. I could see it when I had arrived. You don't look at enemies the same way you looked at that man. You care for him. Jujutsu society was already asking a lot of you. I didn't want you to live with the guilt of having to kill someone you cared for. "

Gojo is eerily silent for a good moment. His six eyes aren't having issues. Your flow of cursed energy really is different. You're not from here.

" You have a student ID right? What's your name? "

" Kamo Y/N."

You hand your student ID  to him.

" Already a second grade student as a first year? Impressive. I take it you're from the Kamo clan? Or are you a foreigner with a similar last name as one of the three clans- You don't look like you're from around here. "

" No, I'm from the Kamo clan. My mother fell in love with a foreigner. "

" Blood Manipulation? "

" Water manipulation, actually. "

His eyebrows visibly raise beneath his brow.

" I've never heard that before. What's that? I take it you can manipulate water, like the name intends? "

" Yes, I can. I can manipulate any body of water, and create or change the condensation of it. "

" Including the blood in people their bodies. "

You cringe at his words.

" Yes. "

It's not the favorite part of your technique, but it's definitely a part of it.

Gojo sighs, sitting up straight as he contemplates on what to do.

" Who's your mother? "

" Kamo Asuka. "

His eyebrows furrow. He's heard that name before, but he can't remember when. Your student ID is legit too. He sighs, getting up.

" Okay. Something is definitely going on here. I've got no idea what, but don't worry, your sensei will look into it. "

Hos previous serious expression is replaced by his easy going one again. He's grinning as he gets up from the chair, and unties you from yours.

" Welcome back at school I guess. I'll be putting you in the girls dormitory for now. We'll introduce you to the rest of the class tomorrow. "

Soon enough, the both of you are finally leaving the room, and you're headed back to familiar grounds.

To your surprise, he leads you to the exact dorm room you used to stay, but your eyes widen in negative surprise as you notice that it's empty. All of your belongings not there. Your polaroids aren't hanging messily over your wall, your clothes aren't messily stacked in an overfull laundry basket in the corner of the room, your books aren't under your bed, and your comfortable bedsheets which you sneaked in from home aren't on your bed.

" You okay? "

He notices your expression.

" Yeah, just... This is supposed to be my room. All my stuff is gone.... "

-

The night passes by, but you can't find it in yourself to fall asleep. You're just tossing and turning, and eventually, you finally get up, and make your way outside, towards the river.

You're going to fix your back. You breathe in the cool night's air. You'd often sneak out at times like this, along with your best friend. You'd catch the bus that goes until 3 am to Shibuya, and pop by some 24/7 convenience store from time to time.

You take out your phone, testing your luck.

Kuna

I'm hungry

Tf you want me to do

Lets sneak off to the kitchens, I wanna bake cupcakes

No

Wait no I'm coming

I wanna spoon out the left over batter

U gotta share tho

No

You sigh as you look at the old texts. They're not that old, only from yesterday. By accident, you had woken up Nobara as well and together the three of you ended up baking cupcakes.

It had been fun.

You type a message.

Hey, where are you?

[ The number you're trying to reach is not in use. ]

Something really wasn't right, you really were somewhere you weren't supposed to be.

You decide to just focus on the task ahead. Throwing the, currently useless, device in the grass beside you, you step into the shallow part of the river.

Unlike most cursed techniques, you found yours pleasant to use. You didn't need to intent harm on anyone to use it. You also managed to master your reverse cursed technique. With enough water, you can heal injuries.

You manipulate a bit of the river's water into the palm of your hands, allowing the water to encase your hand. The water is still cold, but that only makes you sigh in relief as you press your water encased hand to your back, the water lighting up as your abilities get to work. This was so much more pleasant.

-

" Okay students,  meet your new, very awesome classmate, Kamo Y/N! "

Gojo is way to cheerful as he introduces you.

Nonetheless, you smile politely as you slide open the door, and step inside the classroom.

" Hi. Nice to meet you all, I hope we get along well. "

You bow, finishing your introduction formally.

This is not how it went when you introduced yourself back in your universe, but that was more than okay.

A spark comes to life in Nobara's eye.

" Another girl! This is great! Finally I'm not just stuck with these two! " Nobara cheers.

Both men beside her grumble.

Yuuji pouts.

" Why, what's wrong with us? I thought you liked us. "

Megumi's mildly annoyed expression shifts soon enough, his focus now on you.

" Kamo? "

He's always been sharp. He probably wonders why you're here when your cousin (Noritoshi) is in the Kyoto school.

" Y/N isn't like our regular students, Megumi. She randomly popped up yesterday out of nowhere. She already knows you, but no one of us knows anything about her, thus far. " Gojo explains.

Megumi's eyebrows furrow, as Yuuji gasps.

" Out of nowhere? What if you're from a different universe? "

You raise a brow. You hadn't thought about that. Had the cursed spirit you've been fighting really been strong enough to send you here?

" Don't spout nonsense Yuuji-"

" I think it's actually a good theory. "

All four students turn surprised to their sensei.

" Your flow of cursed energy is different. It's somewhat more peaceful, but it also feels like it doesn't belong here.- I forgot to ask you a bunch of questions yesterday actually, how did you end up here? "

He's leaning back against the desk, fingers on his chin as his expression is relatively serious.

" I was fighting a cursed spirit. It was special grade. It popped up out of nowhere. It wasn't alone either. One went after me while the other went after Sukuna. The one that went after me was strong, and made me fall through some kind of hoop. I was supposed to fall in the river, but I ended up falling right at the entrance of the school, which is where Inumaki senpai found me. "

Yuuji blinks, though his eyebrows furrow in confusion.

" Sukuna? "

Yuuji can only hope you aren't referring to the very curse he hates.

" Yeah, Itadori Sukuna. That actually reminds me, is he sleeping in late again, that he's not here? "

All eyes blink at you in confusion.

" Yeah, I actually forgot to ask about that yesterday as well. Is your Sukuna a student? "

Gojo seems confusingly serious about it.

" Ah, yeah. He is. He's Yuuji's twin, actually. "

Everyone's eyes are wide open, and Yuuji's mouth actually falls open.

" My- my twin?! " He calls out, visible distressed.

You blink, wondering what you've said wrong.

" Yeah? -"

" Ryomen Sukuna is the king of curses here. He's a very powerful sorcerer from the Heian era, back when the curses ruled. It took a lot to defeat him. And the sorcerers from back then couldn't even kill him. They cut up his 20 fingers and sealed them. "

You blink in surprise at Gojo's explanation. Before furrowing your eyebrows in disgust and realization.

" 20? "

Gojo nods.

" Our Sukuna had 4 arms. "

" Ew. "

" I can swallow his fingers. "

Now you blink at Yuuji. He blinks back at you with a bit of a dumb grin, Nobara cringes in disgust.

" Ew. "

" Right! You get it, it's so unsanitary! "

She's definitely glad to have you.

" But then, Sukuna's presence lives in you? "

Yuuji nods.

" Yeah. Don't worry though, I've got full control over him. "

This is all just very confusing for you.

" Right. "

" Sukuna Ryomen as a student. I never imagined that- I take it his cursed technique is slicing in your.. Universe.. As well? "

Gojo seems positively interested. The possibilities of Sukuna being a student is amazing to him.

You shake your head.

" He doesn't have any cursed energy, actually. "

" What? "

" Yeah, he's free of it. "

Gojo's eyes widen. He only knows one person who was free from it.

" Like-"

" Yes, like him. "

You flit your eyes over Megumi, who just seems confused.

Gojo is only more surprised at this point.

" Okay... Well, enough of this. Let's turn back to class for now. We'll figure out how to get you back to your universe. For now, let's just focus on classes. This way, perhaps you won't fall behind. "

[ 19.58, parallel Jujutsu Kaisen Universe ]

Your eyes narrow, taking in the scene in front of you. This fight is becoming tougher by the minute.

The special grade cursed spirit across from you smiles, it's face agonizingly similar to that of a human's.

You're weighing your options. This special grade seems to have powers that connect with space. It can move at an impossible speed, managing to pop up in the nick of time in a completely different spot meters away.

It's powers are powerful. Currently, you're a second grade sorcerer. You're powerful, but more against curse users than actual spirits. You can do a lot of things other sorcerers are still dreaming of.

Your cursed technique is Water Manipulation. Like the name suggests, you can manipulate and change the structure of any body of water. You're powerful, but especially against people, as they are made up of 60% water after all.

" It seems you're losing. "

The cursed spirit is laughing at you, it's dark, hollow eyes scrutinizing you as it takes you in.

You huff at him, forcing yourself to stand your ground. You raise your arms, ready to continue your fight.

A fake, easy smirk settles on your face.

" Maybe you should open your eyes, I'm actually imagining all the different ways I can exorcise you. "

Your expression is smug, though you feel anything but, internally panicking.

You'll have to fight your way out of this, even if you're not sure you can win.

You're not dying today. You will make it out alive.

You unclasp the water skins resting on both of your hips, your hands moving fluidly as they guide the water into a make shift weapon. Today, you choose for it's vast, sharp nature, speeding the water's movements as you form two ring blades- two huge circles who act as an extension of your arm. The water they exist of is whirring at an incredible speed, making them exceptionally sharp. Right now, you're not aiming to fight the spirit. It doesn't seem all too afraid of close up combat, but you hope you can draw it back far enough towards the bridge that connects this village to the city over a river. If you can do that, you'll stand a chance. You could escape, or better yet, win.

Your eyes narrow into a serious expression as you charge at it. It's smug, it's counter powerful as it fights back.

" This is also quite fun you know, I didn't expect we'd be getting all close and personal. " It grins.

The spirit you're fighting might look humanoid, bit it's still got a weird purple skin colour. It's hair is blue, the colours clashing with one another. It's not pretty, in fact, it's very uncomfortable to look at.

You scoff.

" Don't get used to it. "

You don't bother to say more as you quicken your movements, your aim a little desperate, but definitely dangerous. It's starting to work. Your rapid attacks are sending the cursed spirit back, not wanting to be caught in one of your make shift blades.  Soon enough, it's drawing back, slowly getting closer and closer to the river. It raises it's arm, and you jump out of the way. A new, free path lies in front of you, and you take your chance.

To your horrific surprise, it seems to launch some sort of ball, vaguely reminding you of Gojo's sensei's technique. It doesn't just explode the building it hits, it turns into a small, black hole, sucking in a part of the falling bricks. You're running towards the river, however, just before you reach it, it jumps in the way. However, the river is now in your reach, and you seize the opportunity. Reaching out your hands, you command the water far below you, and it shoots out in a spike towards the cursed spirit. It moves out of the way just in time, and you take it's place instead, continuing to summon the water around you. It turns into a huge circle, spinning protectively around you. The weight of the water is heavy, but you can handle it, even if it does weigh down your movements.

However, as you're getting ready to launch the attack, the spirit laughs, sending another ball your way. You release all the water, letting it fall on the ground as you jump out the way. The ball hits the ground, and this one doesn't turn into a small black void. Instead, it releases a huge wave, sending you back. First, it makes you hit the railing of the bridge, your back hurting on the impact. Ouch. Lucks seems to be on your side, as you somehow manage to flip over the railing, now falling towards the river. A very rich power source.

The spirit smirks, catching you of guard. It creates some kind of golden ring, and to your surprise, it teleports. It's under you within a second, and before you know it, you're falling in it.

-

You groan as you wake up, squinting at the harsh sunlight.

" Huh?.. " You're puzzled.

Where are you? It takes you a few moments before you realize exactly where you are. As you turn to your left, the archway to Jujutsu Tech greets you.

You're back here? How?

Something is wrong. You were in a nearby village just now, not too far away. It was cloudy there. It was only a 10 minute drive from your school. How was it sunny here already?

You rub your face, completely confused. You can swear that the air is different too. Something isn't right. However, a searing pain spreads through your body. Shit, your back. You forgot about that. You groan as it hits you.

You turn to your water skins, only to see that you left it uncapped. The water must've fallen out as you fell. Damnit, you don't even have enough water to heal yourself.

" Salmon roe? "

" Inumaki senpai! Holy shit am I glad to see you. " You groan, struggling to get up.

He sends you a questioning look, stepping back when you reach for him. You return his look.

" My back's killing me-"

" Pickled mustard leaf. "

He's raising his hand at you as he speaks, a warning for you not to move. Your eyes widen in realization. He doesn't recognize you. He's asking how you know his name.

Your mouth opens slightly. What was going on? You were relatively close with your upperclassmen.

" You- what? - You're playing a game, right? You know who I am. C'mon, we've sparred so often. You trained me for the exchange event a few months ago-"

Inumaki shakes his hands at you, making you pause your words. The both of you blink at each other for a good minute. Him wondering who you are, and you wondering what was going on.

" I'm your underclassman. You know me. I know you. You're Inumaki Toge. You can only speak in rice ball ingredients because of your cursed speech technique- your favorite rice ball ingredient is Tuna mayo. I know because I asked months ago when we got to know each other. Also I accidentally hit you in the head with a baseball during our baseball game against the Kyoto school.- I'm Kamo Y/N. Your favorite underclassman (you're probably not, but that doesn't matter), Ryomen's best friend-"

He blinks in question again, as you blink in response.

" Ryomen Sukuna? My best friend? He's like-"

" Sleep. "

Your eyes fall closed as you fall to the ground, completely unconscious.

it’s downright pouring outside.

suguru rests on the living room couch, cooped up in a bundle of soft blankets, watching as droplets ricochet against the window. heavy, sharp, like the rain is trying to break into your apartment — a steady pitter patter that makes him feel at ease.

it’s cozy, he thinks. being indoors, safe and warm and dry, while the outside world is blanketed by gray. wearing baggy clothes, a pair of reading glasses, his hair tied up into a loose bun. turning the pages of the new novel you gave him, slender fingers ghosting against the paper.

he thinks of you, and finds himself frowning.

suguru got home just before storm clouds gathered in the sky — but as far as he knows, you’re still outside. he’s memorized your comings and goings, what time you usually return home, the paths you tend to favour. as any attentive roommate should.

so he’s a little worried. usually, you’d be home by now. and you still haven’t replied to his messages.

tentatively, he reaches for the warm cup of tea on the coffee table, bringing the ceramic to his lips. sipping from the green, honeyed brew, letting the scent soothe his growing nerves. he shouldn’t be too high-maintenance; you’re a perfectly capable adult. if he nags at you all the time, you’ll just be weirded out. and the last thing he wants is to scare you away.

so it’s fine. you’re fine, he’s sure. there’s no need for him to freak out over your whereabouts. he needs to maintain his cool, calm exterior.

— suddenly, the click of a lock being turned.

suguru’s head whips towards the front door. after a brief moment, he stumbles to his feet, untangling himself from the heap of blankets he’s burrowed into — gently setting the cup back on the table, fixing his hair, making sure he’s presentable — before making his way towards the hall.

and there you are. clumsily dragging the door open, stumbling inside, keys jingling as you step over the threshold; absolutely soaked. just as he feared.

”hey…”

you meet his gaze. panting softly, cheeks a little flushed, wet locks of hair sticking to your forehead and neck — disheveled. letting out a sheepish little laugh — gosh, why do you have to be so cute? — leaning down to pull your shoes off. you’re wearing a thin, white shirt. it’s entirely drenched.

suguru looks away. a heat sticking to his cheeks.

”hey,” you greet, a little out of breath. tossing your shoes away, tugging absently at your shirt. ”god. i feel like a drowned rat.”

at that, he lets a little chuckle slip. shaking his head, taking a step back — careful not to let his gaze stray towards the soaked fabric of your clothing. ”why didn’t you call me? i would have picked you up.”

”well, i thought about it,” you hum, walking right past him, ”but i figured you’d still be at work.”

suguru frowns, ever so slightly, discontentment in his eyes. ”… they let me go early today. but you should have texted me, either way. what if you get sick?”

”i’ll be fineeee,” you slip on a grin, turning back to face him. ”just need a quick shower. don’t worry, okay?”

he narrows his eyes, playfully, enjoying the way your eyes crinkle in response. then he exhales, hands on his hips. feigning exasperation.

”… fine, fine. need me to go get you a clean shirt?”

”ah. well...” you let out a wince, earning a tilt of his head. ”i haven’t done my laundry, in like… a week.”

a moment passes. suguru’s lips curl up, an exasperated sigh slipping from his lips. he gazes at you, ever so fondly, raising a brow. ”i asked you if you needed me to wash anything for you.”

”i know, but…” a breathy sigh, as you scratch at the back of your neck. ”i don’t want you to pull all my weight. we both live here.”

there’s a pretty little pout on your lips, now. it makes suguru want to smooth over the sensitive skin with his thumb, soothe it away. but he only clears his throat.

”i don’t mind,” he answers, truthfully. ”i like doing laundry. you know that.”

”… still.”

his smile only grows, at your quiet mumble, something soft blooming in his eyes. he takes a step forward, scooting closer to you. ”we’ll see about laundry later. in the meantime… want to wear one of my shirts?”

the words have left his lips before he can think them through — maybe a little too eager. silently, he curses himself for being so forward. but you raise your head, meeting his amber eyes, blinking so sheepishly that he thinks he’d give you just about anything you ask for.

”… is that okay?”

”more than okay,” he reassures you, a smile on his face. ”i’ll get you something comfy.”

you quiet down, for a moment. still pulling at the collar of your shirt, making sure the thin fabric doesn’t stick to your soaked skin, shifting from foot to foot.

”… alright,” you exhale. ”that’d be great, then.”

a hum buzzes in his throat. suguru walks past you, towards the hallway leading up to his room, ruffling your wet hair in passing. his heavy palm on your head, a perfect fit. smiling to himself.

”got it. one second, okay?”

behind him, you nod, but he can’t see it — walking into his room, rummaging through his closet, trying not to lose his mind at the idea of you wearing one of his oversized shirts. maybe a pair of sweatpants, maybe a tank top… he gulps at the thought. heartbeat accelerating, gradually, a jittery feeling in his throat.

he settles on a big, comfortable hoodie. bundling it up in his arms, before making his way back to where you’re still standing, still soaked, shivering a little.

”here,” he hums, passing the bundle of soft fabric into your awaiting arms. you nuzzle into the pile, already looking comforted; it warms his heart. he hopes you like the cologne he picked out, earthy and deep. a hint of cinnamon. ”now go take your shower, hm?”

”mm. thank you,” you smile, cheeks still damp, a little flushed. ”you’re too nice to me.”

suguru resists the urge to frown. resists the urge to tell you that there’s no such thing, that you deserve every last drop of kindness he can wring out of his cramped-up heart. he knows he shouldn’t be too forward, but you’re making it difficult. you always make it so difficult.

(or maybe he’s just a weak, weak man.)

”oh, please,” he gives you a playful little roll of his eyes, sighing fondly. ”this is the bare minimum. we don’t want you catching a cold, do we?”

”we don’t,” you grin. ”i have a feeling you’d just end up making me soup all day.”

a chuckle flows from out his lips. he hopes it doesn’t come out as shaky as his heart feels, just at the thought — the idea of taking care of you like that. being allowed to tend to you, being trusted by you in that way. ”well, i need to make sure i don’t get rusty. what kind of chef would i be if i did, hm?”

there it is, again. the crinkle of your eyes, that upturn of your lips, all things he finds himself constantly seeking out — suguru exhales, somewhat in bliss. he might need to quit cigarettes for good, soon. it wouldn’t do for him to have more than one vice.

while you take your shower, your roommate lounges on the couch. or at least, he tries to — though his feet inevitably take him to your tiny kitchen, to the water cooker, to the cabinet with all his expensive tea bags. he picks out a nice, strong ginger tea. something to help boost your immune system. silently, drowsily, he pours water into a ceramic cup, stirs the slowly brewing tea with a honey-clad teaspoon. raindrops cascade against the window, and the faraway sound of thunder reaches his ears.

it’s cold outside, but warm and cozy in here — in the home you’ve made for yourselves.

he’s really, really glad that he followed satoru’s advice. that he put out that advert, that the first person who reached out ended up being you. he’s happy to share a living space with you, these cozy leftover afternoons. he’s happy to have someone to brew tea for.

(what more could a man like him ask for?)

”um, suguru?”

he stiffens. ever so slightly, ears perking up at the sound of your voice, that mellow little lilt — broken out of his syrupy stupor. after a moment, he turns around.

and his breath hitches in the back of his throat.

you’re standing there, right at the threshold separating the kitchen from the living room, hair a little damp from the shower — and you’re wearing his hoodie. it cascades down your frame, the hem of it ending right above your knees, sleeves rolled up to reveal your hands. that hoodie is baggy even on him, but you’re just drowning in the fabric. his heart feels like it’s about to burst.

suguru blinks. once, then twice, pupils blown wide.

— he lets out a shaky sigh.

”jesus…”

a series of blinks. you tilt your head, like a confused puppy, glancing up at him with that doe-eyed look. fuck, he wants to bundle you up in his arms. he wants you to fall asleep on his chest, wants to keep you there forever. god, who thinks stuff like that?

(he needs to get a grip — and fast. he can already feel his ears growing hotter.)

”it looks… kind of ridiculous, doesn’t it?” you let out a sheepish chuckle, clouded with what he thinks must be shyness. cute. ”is this an xxl? that’s insane.”

suguru lets out a breathy chuckle, shaking his head, raven locks swaying with the movement. ”it is. looks good on you, though.”

”… does it?” you let your arms fall slack, for a moment, the softened fabric swallowing your hands. he can’t even see the tips of your fingers. oh, how his heart aches. it’s squeezing so tightly he fears his chest might cave in.

a nod. suguru clears his throat, turning around again, clinking the teaspoon against the rim of your cup. stirring idly. ”is it comfortable?”

”mhm!”

— and he smiles. ”good.”

silently, you step closer, taking your rightful place beside him. leaning your elbows against the counter, watching his movements, the flick of his long fingers. one of his rings catches on the ceramic, a quiet clang.

”here,” he hums, pushing the cup towards you. when you look up, his eyes are crinkled at the edges, warm and sweet, a melting pair of honeycombs. ”drink up.”

a moment passes.

”… you really are too sweet for your own good, you know that?”

suguru grins. his heart blossoms a little more; petals sticking between the ridges of his ribs. it manifests as a delighted little chuckle, flowing out his throat.

”don’t thank me yet — there’s sushi for you in the fridge, too. they let us bring the leftovers home again.”

”really? i can have some?”

suguru raises a brow. smiling, all the while. ”would i be offering otherwise?”

(you can have anything, he wants to say. i doubt i could say no. i’m a little weak, when it comes to you.

such embarrassing words.)

a heavy sigh escapes you, laced with relief. taking hold of the cup, raising it to your lips, sipping slowly. ”god, you’re the best. i’m starving.”

”haha… better eat, then, yeah?”

nod, nod. you give him another one of those grins, awfully pleased, putting your cup down and taking a step back. suguru can’t help but turn his head, to catch a glimpse of you — how cozy you look, waddling around in that big hoodie. hair a little tousled, humming softly to yourself, tapping the tips of your fingers against the handle of the fridge. it mashes well with the endless pitter patter against the window.

a purr of thunder echoes in the distance. hyacinths line the windowsill, the crinkle of a plastic container being rustled rings out across the room, and suguru feels at peace. he watches, listens, observes. wallowing in the feeling.

domesticity.

with a breathy, blissed-out exhale, he closes his eyes. smiling sweetly, barely contained. wishing on every single droplet that you’ll stick around a little longer than your lease allows.

”here,” you grin, stepping into his line of vision. handing him a plate full of sushi, all his favorite pieces. ”you eat up, too.”

suguru smiles.

(that’s a bridge he’ll worry about crossing another day. for now — this is more than enough.)

it’s downright pouring outside.

suguru rests on the living room couch, cooped up in a bundle of soft blankets, watching as droplets ricochet against the window. heavy, sharp, like the rain is trying to break into your apartment — a steady pitter patter that makes him feel at ease.

it’s cozy, he thinks. being indoors, safe and warm and dry, while the outside world is blanketed by gray. wearing baggy clothes, a pair of reading glasses, his hair tied up into a loose bun. turning the pages of the new novel you gave him, slender fingers ghosting against the paper.

he thinks of you, and finds himself frowning.

suguru got home just before storm clouds gathered in the sky — but as far as he knows, you’re still outside. he’s memorized your comings and goings, what time you usually return home, the paths you tend to favour. as any attentive roommate should.

so he’s a little worried. usually, you’d be home by now. and you still haven’t replied to his messages.

tentatively, he reaches for the warm cup of tea on the coffee table, bringing the ceramic to his lips. sipping from the green, honeyed brew, letting the scent soothe his growing nerves. he shouldn’t be too high-maintenance; you’re a perfectly capable adult. if he nags at you all the time, you’ll just be weirded out. and the last thing he wants is to scare you away.

so it’s fine. you’re fine, he’s sure. there’s no need for him to freak out over your whereabouts. he needs to maintain his cool, calm exterior.

YOUR FRIENDLY(?) NEIGHBOURHOOD(?) SPIDER-MAN feat. getou suguru

꒰ 2.4k꒱ there’s something up with your roommate, and you’re determined to figure out what it is and what spider-man has to do with it.

YOUR FRIENDLY(?) NEIGHBOURHOOD(?) SPIDER-MANfeat. Getou Suguru

Despite what people may think, you’re not stupid; there’s something up with your roommate, and Spider-Man is somehow involved with it. Getou Suguru had been perfectly normal up until Spider-Man’s debut. More accurately, he’d normally been perfect. He never left dishes out, never randomly brought friends over without warning, never left washing lying around, you both evenly split chores with little argument, and he was so conscientious you occasionally mused over the idea of him even being real. He didn’t hog the bathroom even with a meticulous skincare and hair routine – rather, at some point you two ended up doing it together. You’d be pressed shoulder to shoulder in your small shared bathroom, rubbing moisturiser into your skin while he brushed his teeth, idle chatter exchanged throughout.

Then Spider-Man happened. Which isn’t to say you hate the guy – all in all, you think he’s pretty noble. Not many people would have the guts to do what he does, yourself included, and you know Suguru has a quiet admiration for the man, no matter how much he plays it down. No number of he’s just doing what he can or he could always be doing more for the community is going to change your mind. If you were to ask your best friend, who’s somehow gotten it in her head that you’re in love with the man and now spams you with roughly thirty edits of the vigilante a day, you’re his biggest fan. The problem is that he’s got something to do with Suguru, and whatever that is, your roommate is visibly falling apart.

He stays out later and sleeps in to hours he’d previously considered ridiculously late. You’ll wake up some mornings to the bathroom an absolute mess; items knocked over, something toppled into the sink, water dripping all over the floor, and the medicine cabinet torn apart. He neglects his chores, neglects his self-care routine, neglects everything. Despite the rapidly increasing hours outside of the house, his friends have confided in you that they’ve barely seen him; likewise, any conversation with him has halted abruptly. There’s no mutual skincare when he’s either sleeping or out, that horrid, filthy word; I’m going out, or I’ll be out tonight, or I’ll be out late, don’t stay up for me that has rapidly become the most popular phrase in his vocabulary.

You’ve been silently supporting him, cleaning up where he’s had no energy to. That doesn’t change the feeling settling under your skin, the quiet acknowledgement that something is very, very wrong. Tonight, you’re going to do something about it.

Which leads to the present moment: you, a bag in hand and your heart thundering in your chest and a tender bruise purpling on your collarbone, two men, passed out in front of you, and the man of your most recent ire, Spider-Man, your newfound saviour. You stare at his face, because you’re angry at him, and if your eyes dart even slightly downward all you’re going to be thinking of are those edits your friend loves sending you. That, or the two unconscious would be muggers on the floor before you.

You know Spider-Man has something to do with what's affecting Suguru, because you’d sneaked a look in his bedroom and found the photowall his best friend’s Gojou and Ieiri forced him to make completely replaced with Spider-Man hit pieces. He’d written notes, for God's sake, and you’re a little (read: incredibly) worried Spider-Man has somehow done something to either turn him into a die-hard fanboy hellbent on being his sidekick or a soon-to-be supervillain. You’re not sure which is worse.

“Are you hurt, sweetheart?”

You startle, abruptly refocusing on Spider-Man and his dumb, stupid eye lenses. Eyes narrowing, you readjust your grip on your bag. “I’m fine.” You say shortly, and decidedly do not mention the fact he called you sweetheart. He doesn’t call people sweetheart. You know this, because of all the soundbites attached at the start of those godforsaken edits, sweetheart has never been there.

Okay, maybe it’s a little embarrassing you’re using that as your point of reference.

He doesn’t leave, even though he’s Spider-Man and should probably be stopping another three crimes right now. Instead, he steps closer – you step back. He halts. “Are you sure?”

“Positive.”

“Alright. Where are you going?”

You take another step back, eyes darting to the edge of the street behind you. “What’s it to you?”

“Hey, I’m sorry.” His hands raise in a sign of surrender, hanging in clear view of you at the sides of his head. “I’m just worried. It’s risky for someone as pretty as you to be out so late alone with nothing to defend yourself.”

Someone as pretty as you– you cut that off for your own safety. Your mouth opens, closes, opens again. In the end, you blink dumbly; he watches you, and you suddenly, viciously hate that you can’t see his face. He’s probably laughing at you right now, and you have no idea. “...Pretty?”

“Was that too much?”

Oh. Spider-Man is conscientious. “Um, no. It’s fine. Sorry. I just, um, wasn’t expecting it.”

“Really? I’d have thought–”

“Okay, maybe it is a bit much.” He immediately shuts his mouth. Stupidly, you kind of regret it, but you can’t be getting side-tracked right now. You’re going to be embarrassed enough recalling this memory, no need to make it worse by collapsing out of embarrassment or some other, worse alternative. “I was just heading home. I, uh, bought groceries.”

“It couldn’t have waited until tomorrow?” He asks. “Crime has been up around here lately. You couldn’t have gotten a friend to come with you?”

Spider-Man is scolding me right now, you think, a bit hysterically. Whatever. FIne. This is normal. “Um. No. I need it now.”

“Really? It couldn’t have waited until the morning?”

“No.” You say forcefully. “It’s for my roommate.”

“Your roommate.” His tone falls flat. You squint at him, and he jolts. “I mean, uh, what does your roommate need so bad? Did he ask you to get something?”

“It’s none of your business.” You hug your bag closer to your chest. Spider-Man, the root of whatever is causing this change in Suguru, doesn’t deserve to know. Wait. Pause.

Wouldn’t he be the perfect person to tell? His voice got all wonky when you mentioned a roommate, so maybe he knows Suguru is your roommate? And if he does in fact know that, doesn’t that mean he in some way knows Suguru? Which, as the cause of his stress, means that if you inadvertently guilt trip him by info-dumping, you could get righteous, conscientious Spider-Man to fix whatever is going on there? Or push him away, if crazy-fanboy-theory is right?

You ignore how full of holes your logic is.

“Walk me home.” You say. He stares. Squaring your shoulders, you tilt your chin up so you two are making proper eye contact, taking a step towards him. “What, is it an inconvenience?”

“No. No. It’s, uh, not an inconvenience.” You turn on your heel, continuing on your stroll to your apartment and ignoring the sound of his footsteps as he falls into step beside you. “I was under the impression that you weren’t too happy to see me.”

“Then why did you stick around?” You pause. There is a good reason to be surprised by your sudden change in attitude. “Sorry. I’m, uh, not in the best mood.”

“That’s okay.”

You clear your throat, training your eyes ahead of you. “It’s a surprise for my roommate.”

He fails to keep his tone even. “A surprise?”

“Yeah.” Your tongue darts over your lips. You need more chapstick. “He, um, has been feeling off lately. Stressed. Tired. He’s been, uh, leaving stuff around the apartment and he’s barely talking to me. I’m worried about him.”

“You don’t need to worry about him that much.”

“How would you know?” You ask pointedly. He doesn’t say anything in response. Twat. “He’s my roommate. You know, he hasn’t been taking care of himself. He’s got these deep bags under his eyes, he’s barely bothering to take care of his hair, and he’s been taking a bunch of paracetamol lately. He’s going through, like, three times the usual amounts of coffee, and he’s staying out so late that he’s sometimes still not home when I wake up. We haven’t hung out in ages, did you know his friends talked to me because they were so worried? And I can’t even talk to him, because when he’s not sleeping, he’s out. God, he’s always out nowadays. I don’t even know where he’s going, but he’s there all the time, and he won’t tell anyone, and–”

Spider-Man makes a vague shushing sound, impossibly soothing and impossibly familiar. “It’s okay, angel. I’m sure he appreciates being this cared about.”

“He better.” You huff, an intelligible feeling caught in your throat. You clear it, eyes skittering to the pavement beneath your feet. “I just- he’s really worrying me, you know? He’s a good person. Such a good person. I’m worried about what has him like this, but I don’t want to push him, so it’s like, how am I supposed to figure it out?”

“Maybe he can’t tell you.”

“That doesn’t help.” You groan, running a hand over the bridge of your nose. “But, um, I wanted to change that.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. I know that it’s not going to make him more likely to tell me or anything, but I wanted to cheer him up.” Your fingers tighten on the strap of the bag, flexing and unflexing. You adjust your grip only for a covered hand to offer itself, palm up as his fingers linger on your arm. You pass him the plastic bag. “I don’t know when he gets home, so I was going to make Suguru his favourite and I’ve bought a bunch of snacks. I rented out his favourite movie – it’s this obscure film from the 80’s that he loves – and I’ve bought a new bottle of nail polish, I’ve got a face mask, I just thought… maybe I could incentivise him to calm down, and take a moment to spend time with me. I even bought scented candles. How dumb is that?”

“I think he’s going to love it.”

“You don’t know that.”

“I do.” His voice is firm and, when you glance at him, his face is turned towards you. Through the thin fabric of his suit, his adam's apple bobs as he swallows. “I think that’s incredibly thoughtful of you, and he’d be stupid to not appreciate it. It’ll make him really happy, I promise.”

“I hope so,” you mutter. “Sorry for being a little rude earlier.”

“It’s fine. You were startled, there’s no need to apologise.”

“Still. I’m sorry.” Your hands move to rub at your cheeks, your palms warm against the chill of the night. “I, um.”

“You?”

“No, nevermind. It’s dumb.”

“Nothing you say is dumb,” he says sweetly, because Spider-Man is apparently the sweetest man you’ll ever meet, second only to Getou Suguru. “Whatever you want to tell me, I’ll listen. There’s no judgement here.”

You hum in reply, breathing in deeply and letting the air linger in your lungs before you exhale. You’re clearly not the mastermind you thought you were; that wasn’t so much guilt-tripping as it was venting, and there’s no repressed guilt floating about Spider-Man. If there is, he’s hiding it remarkably well. How embarrassing. You just vented your heart out on accident to a vigilante – a very attractive vigilante, might you add – and for what? A bit of catharsis? Suddenly, intensely, you feel like a piece of shit.

“Thanks,” you say finally. “That’s really nice of you.”

You both fall into an awkward silence. For a long moment, the only thing that sounds around you is the passing stream of traffic; someone rolls down the window of their car to hell ‘ayo, Spider-Man!’ as you walk past. It’s only as you near your apartment that you ask yourself; why did he even walk you home? Surely it wasn’t just because you told him to. How does he know where you live?

Well, there’s a rational answer to that. He probably was just silently following you as the two of you walked. But then again, shouldn’t he have asked? Aren’t vigilantes all about like, secrecy and secret identities? Wouldn’t he want to know where he was taking you?

All good questions, you’re sure, and all incapable of being answered.

“Thank you for walking with me,” you say finally, instead of why did you? Don’t you have a dozen other people you could walk home right now? “Um, stay safe. Thank you again.” There’s an awkward shuffle as you reach for your bag, fingers curling around the plastic as you tug it off his arm and he makes no move to help you. You offer him a small, hopeless smile.

“Hey,” Spider-Man says softly, “cheer up a little. I really think your roommate’s gonna love it.”

You huff. “I can only hope.” You tug the bag close against your chest, ducking your head in greeting. “Have a good night.”

Then you’re turning your back to him. You immediately hear the little thwip that must be the projectiles he uses to transport himself – you’ve heard they’re webs, but there’s no way he’s that into the gimmick – and, when you turn to look at where he once stood, no one’s there. Oh well. It’s not like you were going to invite him inside; you have a meal to make for Suguru for when he inevitably gets home at some ridiculous hour.

YOUR FRIENDLY(?) NEIGHBOURHOOD(?) SPIDER-MANfeat. Getou Suguru

When you enter your apartment, you take a moment to just stare. Suguru is before you, breath coming in quick, short pants as he shoves a shirt over his head, showing for a half a second the broad expanse of his back.  His hair is an uncharacteristic mess and, when he looks over his shoulder at you, there’s a fond curve to his eyes.

“Hi,” Suguru says, breathless and his cheeks lined with a soft shading pink. “Sorry, I just got back from a run.”

You blink at him, and decide not to ask what he was doing going for a run at 11pm. “It’s okay. I was getting stuff for dinner. I was, uh, hoping we could maybe have a movie night? We haven’t hung out much lately so, you know.”

His lips crack into a soft, warm smile. “Yeah. That sounds great.”

i genuinely wish i was better at writing because this does not do the concept of spider-man!suguru justice. is the pacing dog? yes. is the writing dog? yes. god i wish i had the energy to properly flesh this out.

I broke up with him

With a confused look, Sukuna glances at the message that pops up on his phone. He's currently out with some friends, hanging like he often does.

Y/N, his best friend, would usually come along too, though since her relationship she'd been coming along significantly less.

He's met the dude before, twice. Once when he picked her up from one of their dates in midnight, and once at a restaurant because Y/N begged him to. He's openly disliked him both times.

With a huff, he replies.

Good, he's a fucking waste of space

It doesn't take long before Y/N starts typing again.

You don't get it

I didn't want to

I did it because there's no space for me in the relationship

I still love him

Give me a second

I'm on my way to you

Y/N starts typing again, probably to tell her best friend that she wants to be alone, but he won't let her. Greeting their shared group of friends, he announces that he's leaving before getting into his car.

Thankfully, the way over is short. And coincidentally, Y/N and Sukuna are neighbors who live across from one another.

It doesn't take long before he's stood on her doorstep, nor for her younger brother to let him in, informing him that she's crying in her room.

Sighing, he knocks, before opening the door.

" Hey. " He says with a bit of a scowl on his face.

Everyone knows that Sukuna hates when Y/N cries.

Y/N sniffs, trying to form a reply, though as she starts trying to break her sobbing, he's quick to make his way over to her and wrap her in his arms.

As expected, she completely breaks down, sobbing into his shirt. He doesn't really care about the odd feeling.

They stay like that for a bit, until she breaks apart to wipe her nose.

" I don't get it. I know he's an asshole. But you're the one who broke up? " He asks.

She nods, now slightly calmer than before.

" Y-Yeah. T-there's no space for me. -" She starts explaining between the sobs which wreck her body.

" I-I tried to fix our issue- I r-really did. But no m-matter what I did or said- it wasn't enough. " She cries again.

Sukuna huffs at her words. " He's a douche, love. How long have you two been together? "

" N-nearly 7 months. "

" And didn't you pay for like 5 months for whatever activity you two did or the travel expenses? Dude lives 2 hours away by train after all. "

" Y-yes, b-but-"

" Hell nah. Y/N, he's a loser. He didn't even hold the door for you to get into the car. Besides, remember the restaurant incident when you had me meet him again? " He points out.

With another sob, she quietly nods.

Sukuna, Y/N, her, now ex, Nick and their friends Yuji (Sukuna's twin), Megumi, Kugisaki, Satoru and Suguru had been seated in one of Y/N's favorite restaurants, a japanese curry house when it happened. Nick had always been over confident and arrogant. He could admittedly hold a good amount of spice, but not enough to challenge the chef, which he did. Not only was he suffering through the entire dinner, but he also threw it all up in the metro station garbage bin later.

All of their friends had actively disliked him since then. Suguru and Sukuna especially. Suguru was a bit older than Sukuna and Y/N by 3 years. Due to stuff that happened between Y/N and Suguru, he had caught feelings, though never the confidence to ask her out.

Although Sukuna did not get along with Suguru's pain in the ass best friend Satoru, he does support Suguru in a relationship with Y/N.

But sadly she met Nick before Suguru had found the confidence to ask her out properly. That doesn't mean he lost feelings though.

Ever since that incident, the entire friend group had been hoping that she'd dump Nick.

" Y-You don't get it. I-I love him. Yet a-all he said when I told h-him we're through is O-Okay. H-he didn't even care. D-Didn't go in a way l-like 'why, we can fix this.'" She sobs, pulling her knees to herself.

With another sigh, he pulls her into his embrace easily. He knew she loves him. He knew she didn't want to break up with him.

" That's because he's a douche. But just cry it out, you'll eventually find someone so much better. Someone who actually cares about you. I'm curious now though- why now? "

" H-he's got exam weeks. A-and because of that, he kept saying that everything I told him which was bothering me- there was like no time to talk about that. And this has s-started since 3 weeks ago. " She sniffs.

She's finally started to calm a bit down, tightly holding onto Sukuna's shirt as she sniffs and cries.

He hums quietly. " I see... I think it's better this way. If he can't even give you proper attention or communication during exam weeks, then how would you ever be able to build on him when actual life hits? " He wonders out loud, adjusting himself so he's leaning against the headboard.

She hums with another sob.

Sukuna's never been good with relationships. He never really held one for long enough to understand what it feels like for her right now,  though he does understand that she loved him ( a horrible decision in his opinion) and that it therefore hurts a lot.

From his point of view, Nick does not give a fuck about her well being at this point. He might not be the one to break up, but letting go of a 6 month relationship with a simple 'okay' does imply just how serious you are about someone.

Sukuna and Y/N have had a bunch of fights too, some particularly nasty ones too, but not once have either of them let go of one another completely. The longest they've gone without talking with one another was probably 3 days.

Y/N's phone rings, but Sukuna is quicker to pick up her phone than she is.

Knowing she wants to pick up, he sighs and hands it to her.

" Put it on speaker. "

With a nod, she does as she says. She asks for Nick's address so she can dump his stuff tomorrow and although Nick keeps talking, she hangs up.

Feeling proud of her, Sukuna pats her on the head. He didn't exactly expect her to do so.

However, he calls again, and this time she picks up again.

" What? " She huffs.

" I wasn't done talking. "

" Right, well talk. " She allows him.

Sukuna kinda wants to whack her in the head for that.

However, its followed by Nick basically pointing all their relationship errors to her and adding the question 'if she knows what she's just done'.

Satisfying Sukuna once again, she defends herself, before hanging up once more.

" He's got loose strings. I swear. " Sukuna points out.

She hums.

" Didn't you dream about it? " He asks, as the two cuddle up.

" Yeah. It went exactly like in my dream too. Which is ironic because after I dreamed that I had messaged him in complete panic, telling him that I didn't want to break up. And now I did, exactly like in the dream. " She answers quietly.

He hugs her a little tighter.

" I swear, your dreams are creepy sometimes. "

It wasn't the first time she's dreamed something and it happened.

She hums.

For a bit the silence settles, and he doesn't miss how her eyes constantly shift to her phone.

" Let's swap phones for a week or two again. " He decides, taking out his phone.

" B-but-"

" No buts, we've done it before. Though this time, don't log into your accounts. " He tells her, taking her phone and tucking it in a spot away from her.

He hands her his phone. She knows all the passwords. He doesn't like her wacky Android which needs a battery replacement, but he doesn't mind swapping his iphone so she won't be making stupid decisions like going back to him.

With a puff, she takes his phone, putting it down where her phone previously was.

" You'll be okay, love. Don't worry. I've got you. "

" I love you. " She mumbles.

Completely exhausted and heartbroken, she doesn't take long before she falls asleep.

Once she's finally quiet, he finally responds.

" I love you too. "

He presses a kiss to her head before turning her phone completely off and falling asleep with her.

[ A/N: Am I back? Idk. Either way, I just broke up with my boyfriend, so most of this is based on real experience. Except I do not have Jujutsu Kaisen best friends. ( Also, the Japanese restaurant story did happen. We were on a date and he pulled that. It was just the two of us though. The dream happened too. Much much more happened. )

Either way, would anyone like a part 2? Don't you wonder what's up with Suguru and you? Or do you maybe wanna go down memory lane and see what happened between Nick, you and Sukuna? Or maybe you'd like to know what Sukuna did now that he's got your phone with the entire conversation you and Nick had. All an option. : ) ]

Silly update;

Am I dead? No, you're not getting rid of me that easily.

Am I writing? Sort of, finding motivation is hard as I tend to focus more on reality or write with AI's bc that's easier.

Will I write again? No idea tbh.

Do you like shrimps? I most definitely do.
