In which the first years find out you're engaged, and to whom.

An arranged marriage.

You're stunned. But annoyed all the same. 

You're surprised too, even though you know that it's odd and useless to feel that way.

As a member of the L/N clan, you of course would've been forced to be married off sooner or later.

Thankfully, the actual marriage won't happen until years later, when you're grown up, an actual adult.

You're only 13 now.

You can't help the scowl on your face as you enter the room your supposed future 'fiance' is in.

Your eyes are quick to connect with a beautiful pair of purple eyes.

You have to admit, he's cute. If you would have seen him across your school, you might've been interested in him. 

You'd never dare to make a move on him though, not if you had been in the same school or would have seen him elsewhere. And especially not with these circumstances

Currently, the grudge you hold against him due to this arranged marriage is clouding your judgment. You dislike him even when he hasn't spoken a word to you just yet.

Your eyes stray to the symbols on the side of his mouth. Ah right, his family's technique was cursed speech. Powerful, admittedly. You have a vague idea of how it works, but you can't help but wonder if it affects casual speech too.

" L/N Y/N." 

Your introduction is basic.

The boy across from you blushes.

He looks sweet. You shake the thought off.

" Inumaki Toge."

You nod. An awkward silence overtakes the two of you for a few moments.

You don't know what to say.

Your mother had all but shoved you in this room, without further directions or whatsoever.

You awkwardly sit down on the couch in the sitting room, your hands tapping your thighs nervously for a moment.

" Kelp."

You blink as he sits down on a chair across from you, a small coffee table between the two of you.

" What?" 

What was that supposed to mean?

He frowns, searching his pockets before pulling out his phone and typing away.

Great. So he's ignoring you now.

" So, uhm, what's your opinion on our situation-"

You pause as he turns the phone to you.

' Sorry, due to my cursed speech technique I can only talk in Onigiri ingredients to avoid accidentally cursing those around me.'

" Oh." 

You exclaim softly, understanding him better now.

He turns the phone back to himself, typing away again.

" I don't know how to feel about our situation yet. I always knew I have a chance of ending up in an arranged marriage due to my hereditary technique. I understand if you feel different though. I hoped we could see how things go. We can always fight it if either of us dislike it. I won't force you into marriage with me.'

Your eyes widen at his consideration. This was not what you had expected at all.

The only other person you've met who has a hereditary technique is Naoya Zen'In, and you hate that guy with a passion.

You blush softly at Toge's words, smiling as you nod in agreement.

" I have to admit that I thought more negatively about the situation. But you seem nice. Maybe we should see how things go."

Toge blushes slightly as well, smiling softly as he nods.

It was an uncomfortable, odd situation for the both of you. You're only thirteen, and yet both of your parents have already decided that your lives are to be spent with one another.

He takes his phone back, and for a moment, the two of you are silent again.

" Uhm... What's your favorite onigiri ingredient?"

He smiles at you.

" Tuna Mayo."

Before you even realize it, the two of you are talking, (well, mostly you. He's mostly typing, or answering in Onigiri ingredients when it's a yes or no question), getting to know one another.

At the end of the day, you are nowhere near certain about eventually being married to him, yet you have to admit that you enjoyed spending time with him.

And that you looked forward to the next time you're seeing each other again.

" You're already engaged?!" 

Nobara Kugisaki's mouth is wide open as she grabs your hand, studying the ring that fits you taste.

You smile at her reaction as you nod, allowing her to look at it. 

Today, you, along with the other second years, are training the first years, as Gojo was sent off to a mission. 

Currently, everyone was seated on the lush ground.

Nobara can't see it, but from opposite you, Toge grins, his blush and expression hidden behind his high collar.

" Why? You're so young! He must be amazing if he managed to pull you!" 

You blush at her words.

" Thanks. It started out as an arranged marriage actually."

" What?- Wait so you don't love him? Do we need to help you get rid of him and escape?"

Nobara is serious, and you can't help but snort.

" Ah, don't worry-"

Your gaze shies away, the hand she's holding pulling away as you pluck at the grass below you. You blush as you continue to speak.

" We might've started out arranged, but we've fallen for each other along the line."

Nobara blinks, taken by surprise.

" How long have you known each other?"

" Since halfway through middle school. We were introduced with the announcement of our marriage."

" I see. When are you getting married?- Oh, I'm invited too, right? Do you need a maid of honor?"

You smile at her enthusiasm.

" We're set to marry once we graduate. And of course you're invited. Maki's already my maid of honor though."

From beside you, Maki smiles.

Meanwhile Nobara's eyes widen in realization.

" Once you both graduate? Your family is a Jujutsu clan right?!-"

" Are you going to marry Panda?"

Everyone turns to Yuuji with an obvious questioning expression in their eyes.

From beside him, Megumi smacks him upside the head.

" No, idiot. She's engaged to Inumaki." 

Yuuji whines as he holds his head.

" That was my second guess."

Nobara blinks between the two of you. Opposite you, Inumaki gets up, moving over to plop down closely besides you. You smile as he does so, leaning over to press a kiss to his cheek in greeting.

This time, everyone notices the blush on his cheeks.

" No way! You?!"

You're not sure if that's a negative or positive reaction.

" Salmon."

" Is there something wrong?"

Nobara hurriedly shakes her head.

" No, I just didn't know. I'm surprised. I've rarely seen you two sit beside one another in class, or spar together, or do anything together except for eating lunch side by side, so- and how do you even communicate?"

You grin at her. From behind his pulled up collar, Inumaki does the same.

" We've been dating since before Jujutsu Tech. We know each other well and respect each other's space. Besides, our class is small, and we already hang out a lot outside of class as well. Besides, once you're together for long enough, you kind of just know how to communicate without communicating, you get me?"

Nobara's looking at you with wide eyes, obviously intrigued by this newfound information. 

" So you're basically already married?"

You and Toge exchange looks, the both of you shrugging.

He picks up your hand which was resting on the ground, holding it in his lap as he messes with the engagement ring he willingly got you. Just like every clan marriage, it was mostly meant for on the papers. To continue the bloodline eventually. He had never been given a ring to give you, and you never asked for one.

Nonetheless, he's happy he did, proud to show you off and already be able to call you his.

" Almost."

You smile, grinning as you pull Sukuna along by hand, your fingers interlaced with his.

" Can you believe it, Sukuna?! We're accepted! We're going to be strong and protect people!"

Sukuna grumbles behind you, rolling his eyes.

" Ehh, who cares. Who are the other first years anyway?"

" Well, there's me-"

" Obviously there's you, Yuu'. If I'm there then why wouldn't you be?"

Sukuna is pretending to be tough, like he dislikes that fact, but both you and Yuuji know better.

Yuuji grins, sharing glances with you.

" Y'know, you can act all tough as you want, but we both know you'd miss me if I wasn't around!" 

Yuuji's grinning, and so are you.

" Yeah! Remember back when we were looking for crabs on the beach and you couldn't find Yuuji and panicked?-"

" Y/N, I was 7, give it a rest. He's stupid, I genuinely thought he'd drowned."

" There's no way the three of you are the other first years."

All three of you blink at the new voice which has joined the conversation.

" Megumi! You look great!"

" You I can accept. But really, sensei? Kamo and Sukuna?"

You scoff at Megumi, crossing your arms over one another as you playfully glare at him.

" You should consider yourself lucky actually-"

" Why aren't you in Jujutsu Tech Kyoto? Isn't Kamo Noritoshi there as well?"

" Yeah, well, for that exact reason. The clan doesn't want us to be close, so they figured that I shouldn't go to Jujutsu Tech at all.- Gojo sensei helped me out actually-"

" You condone her being here? She's reckless!-"

You scoff at Megumi's words, also turning to your teacher.

" Hey! I'm fine. I'm fun even, unlike you-"

You glare shortly at Megumi. 

" Glad to see you all like each other. We'll have to get going though, there's another first year we're about to meet."

Yuuji, Sukuna and you blink at him. It seems like Megumi already knows.

About an hour later, you find yourselves in Harajuku, waiting on yet another student.

Yuuji, Sukuna and you are from the country side. You've only been to Tokyo a handful of times, so everything looks cool to you. So far, you've only spent your money on a crepe that looked delicious. ( It was too.) Yuuji has gone all out, looking much like a tourist. Sukuna had gotten a crepe too, but he's also been sneaking bites from your own, and Megumi hasn't been engaging in anything. Because, (in your opinion), he's boring.

It takes a few.moments before you notice a familiar uniform,and your eyes twinkle as you notice something.

It's another girl!

Finally, you're not the only one between these idiots anymore. (Sukuna included.)

It takes a few moments, but finally, she notices your group too.

You bow formally as her eyes flit over you, before approaching her in excitement, taking her hands in your own like she's some kind of miracle.

" Hi! I'm Kamo Y/N, but call me Y/N! It's so nice to finally have another girl on the team!- Oooeh, your skin is beautiful, what's your skin care routine? That man had no taste, honestly, you look great! Maybe it was your age he was uncomfortable with, perhaps he-"

" Hey little shit, you're rambling again."

You blink turning around to face your best friend, letting go of Nobara's hands.

" And Who're you?"

" Hello! I'm Itadori Yuuji, and this is my twin. We're all from Sendai! Y/N included."

" Sukuna."

" Fushiguro Megumi."

You can pretty much feel Nobara's chain of thoughts as she judges the three boys. Eventually, she glances at you.

" Soo, you've been around these three how long exactly?"

You blink, deeply thinking about it.

" Uhm, not sure, actually.- Our dads hit it off at a grocery store one day and we've just been hanging out ever since?"

You're not even sure how long you know all know each other, Megumi included.

Nobara hums apologetically.

" And you've been stuck with these dudes ever since? You must have lost so many braincells.- Don't worry though, I'm here now!" 

You smile, and both your and Nobara's hands clap together as the two of you jump around.

Gojo grins, happy the two of you are getting along. Yuuji is quick to engage in conversation too. Megumi and Sukuna only exchange glances with one another. They pretty much don't care.

It doesn't take long for Megumi to speak up, eager to either go home or do something useful instead of watching his two classmates gossiping.

" Are we going somewhere from here?"

" We do have all the first year students together. And two* of you only recently arrived from the country side. So of course, we're going on a tour of Tokyo!" 

You and Sukuna exchange glances while Megumi looks about done for the day. 

Last time Gojo said something like that, he abandoned you and Sukuna at Nanami's feet.

Truefully, that was years ago, but still. Your trust issues come from this man and this man alone.

" TDL! Let's go to TDL!"

" Idiot, TDL is in Chiba! Let's go to Chinatown!"

" Chinatown is in Yokohama! "

" Yokohama is in Tokyo! You know what? Why don't you go look at a map-"

Megumi is just looking at Yuuji and Nobara while they argue over options like it hasn't already been chosen.

You and Sukuna both blink, lowkey expecting what could be coming.

" I will now announce our destination-"

Both Yuuji and Nobara make it a show to get down on their knees.

" Roppongi."

Oh. You think to yourself.

That's not so bad.

You blink at the building in front of you. Yeah, you should've seen this coming.

beside you, Yuuji and Nobara are complaining.

" There's a curse here."

You send Megumi an annoyed glance. Thanks Megs, we hadn't noticed that yet.

Sukuna blinks.

" There is?"

Ah right. Can he see curses? Yes. Can he see cursed energy? No.

After Nobara had a moment to realize Yuuji only very recently joined and didn't know a thing yet, Gojo started speaking. 

" I wanna see what you guys are capable of. Just see this as a field test. Nobara, Yuuji, the two of you will go in and excorsize the curse in that building."

Megumi, Sukuna and you turn to him in mild disappointance nd surprise.

" What about us?"

" I've already got a general of idea what the three of you are capable of."

You pout. Megumi seems mildly annoyed by it too.

" Hey Yuu', don't die." 

Sukuna's sweet call causes his twin to turn around with a grin.

" Awe, you'll miss me?"

" No. But you have a lock on your suitcase, which is where the Wii is." 

Yuuji pouts.

You snort.

Soon enough the two of them enter the building, and you, Megumi and Sukuna are left with Gojo outside.

After sitting down on a curb, Gojo turns to you.

" So, you and Megumi? Since when have you had this rivalry going on?" 

You and Megumi blink on one another.

" He stole my bowl of noodles 3 winters ago."

Your words are solemn, dark, like you're talking about a grave crime scene.

Gojo blinks.

He remembers that day. Was that where the arguing started?

Wasn't it Sukuna who had slurped all your noodles?

" I've told you, it wasn't me!"

Megumi sends you an annoyed look, a vein popping the side of his head.

" I know it was you! Who else would it be?!"

The two of you start bickering again, oblivious to Sukuna's amused expression and Gojo's knowing smile.

There are only a few people who can get Megumi worked up like that after all.

" Huh, why are you all empty handed?" 

Both you and Nobara blink at your schoolmates as you approach with Nobara's suitcase and your sportsbag filled with clothes sling over your shoulder.

Sukuna raises a brow.

" You two going somewhere?"

" What are you two even doing with all that luggage?"

Panda's pointing a finger at the both of you.

" What do you mean? Aren't we heading to Kyoto?"

" For the exchange school event in Kyoto?" 

" The exchange school event with our sister school from Kyoto, which will be held here in Tokyo."

You and Nobara exchange glances.

You face palm.

 Maki gives the two of you a pointed look.

" No wonder our conversation have been a little off all this time."

" I know right?"

" Salmon." 

" Y/N should've known, considering her cousin will be here in a few minutes."

" Right? She mentioned she was excited to see him."

" Are you kidding me?! Then what did I make all these preparations for? "

You blink while Nobara bursts out, causing you to blink again.

" The event is held at the school which won last year, which was Tokyo." 

Poor Panda is getting all shaked up by Nobara, who is currently rambling.

You're about to put your hand on her shoulder and calm her down, when Sukuna wraps an arm around you shoulder.

" Don't stop her, this is amusing."

Rolling your eyes, you nudge him off you, stopping one of your newfound best friends instead.

" Hey, you two, cut it out. They're here."

You blink at Maki, pointing to yourself.

" What did I even do?"

" Ah, well, look at that. Everyone from Tokyo together. Is this the welcoming party? How disappointing."

Mai. You've never spoken to her before, but you heard about her from Nobara, who seemed to have a violent run in with her a few weeks ago, when she unnecessarily showed up.

" I don't see Okkotsu anywhere."

Todo Aoi. 

Several of your schoolmates banter in comments for a moment, while Noritoshi sends you a close eyed smile.

" Good to see you, Y/N. I hope you've gotten stronger. You might've been able to beat me before, but you won't be able to do so now."

You grin at him.

" Bet. Try me."

Before anyone can get too heated, Utahime joins the scene.

Currently, Nobara is scrolling through her phone on her bed, her face mushed in her pillow. 

She misses you, undeniably so.

She was missing you when you had been missing, and was fearing you were dead, she was glad to hear that you are lost instead. That doesn't mean that things got easier on her side. She feels like she misses you more now, scrolling through random photos in memory of you. Many were taken at the mall or in shopping districts, others with your classmates. 

She just hopes that wherever you are, that you would be okay.

Meanwhile, you stare in horror at her body which is now lying lifeless on the floor.

You hope your best friend is alive and well in your own universe.

This time, Sukuna has unceremoniously broken the window of an indoor swimming pool and has thrown you in. 

Most of the buildings were destroyed anyway, most civilians dead. He's not going to lower your or his body in dirty water again. There was absolutely no reason for that. If anyone asks later, he's going to blame the Sukuna hiding away in Yuuji.

Currently, he's at the kiddie pool, where he's put you down, allowing your body to float around in the water.

You look stupid, but your healing has taken effect. It's like your healing ability has adjusted, aiming to become something more perfect.

The entirety of the pool water you're laid in has gotten a golden hue.

You've definitely gotten stronger in this universe while he was gone.

He finds himself lost in thought, his eyes distant as he stares blankly at the water ripples below his feet.

He doesn't realize it when you stir awake.

" Did you.. Did you break into a swimming pool? "

You're blinking up at him as you sit yourself up.

" I'm not answering that."

Right. So he did.

Not very surprising, admittedly.

" Also, next time you're running out of cursed energy, I'm abandoning you."

You smile at his words, moving to get up. You're nowhere near recharged just yet, but you want to help your friends-

" Sit your ass down or I'm slamdunking you."

You blink at him, before folding your legs under you, obediently staying in the water.

Yes, Sukuna was sweet with you, but not sweet enough to lie about something he would find amusement in like that.

You pout.

" Always so mean to me."

He smirks at you, leaning his head in his palm.

" Good girl."

You roll your eyes, splashing water at him.

He's grinning as he dodges.

For a moment, there's a moment of silence between  the two of you.

You move closer to him, seeking the familiar comfort you've always felt in his presence.

Eventually, you're leaning your side against his leg, your head pressed to his knee.

You're soaked for most part, but Sukuna can't find it in himself to care. He never has after all. He cares so much more about you than he would ever be able to put in words.

" Your healing ability has grown stronger." 

His eyes are watching the ripples of the colored water. The colo ur seems to brighten bit by bit as you grow stronger.

" Your reverse cursed technique has gotten stronger?"

You nod.

" I've been healing people here a lot. I've always been told that I should be a healer after all, but I've never used it this much before."

He hums.

He doesn't doubt it. This universe is so much more bloodied up than your own.

" How are things back at home?"

Sukuna glances down at you as you speak. You're playing with the water beneath you, your hands deep in it, before you raise it again, watching as it drips down.

" Your parents don't believe you to be death. They're worried. Made me promise to find you and bring you back home..."

You smile.

" Well, you did find me."

He hums, the sound low.

" At the right time too. That Sukuna of this universe is quite something else. Any idea why he wanted you dead so eagerly?"

You shake your head, the movement gentle against his leg.

" No. He's only told me that I don't belong here."

Sukuna hums, silent for a moment.

" What's his story?"

You shrug.

" I'm not all too sure. He was the king of curses a 1000 years ago. He had four arms, four eyes. He was perhaps the worst force to be reckoned with."

" Four arms and four eyes are cool though."

You raise your nose in disgust, glancing up at him.

" No. It's weird and nasty. What's even more nasty is that they couldn't properly kill him, so he became a cursed object somehow. All 20 of his fingers flow around somewhere. With most of them being eaten by Yuuji."

Sukuna grins as he glances down at you, though that grin fades at the revelation of Yuuji eating them.

" Okay, that's nasty, but still. Remember when he ate a random candy which could've been a drug from the ground a few years ago?"

" He did that because you bullied him into it, asshole."

" Right. I don't remember that part.."

You can hear the smirk in his voice. He most definitely does remember. You tutt shaking your head.

" Can't say I'm surprised even though I am diss-"

" Fuck, Y/N, what if you happened to be alive a 1000 years ago?"

You blink at his sudden theory, turning to face him properly now.

" What?"

" You don't exist in this current timeline of this universe, right?"

" Yeah...?"

" What if you did in this universe' Sukuna's timeline?"

You blink.

" Sukuna, you're not making any sense."

In response, he crosses his arms, rolling his eyes.

" Fuck I forget how dumb you are sometimes."

You lean back, your hands placed on the floor behind you, the water surrounding you rippling with the movement.

" Dumb enough to hang out with you."

He doesn't react to your petty comeback.

" This Sukuna wants you dead. You must've been alive in his lifetime and did something that pissed him off."

He looks borderline annoyed as he explains it to you, although your eyes widen as you finally catch on.

" Oh! That'd actually pretty smart- I didn't know you had that in you."

He snorts, getting up as the water's golden glow dulls. You're all healed up again. He extends a hand.

You take it. He effortlessly pulls you up.

" I have my moments. Anyway, let's get back to this later, let's get back to freeing that white haired moron. It's kinda weird that this is what the universe turns out like when we're not there to save his ass." 

You think about his words as the two of you leave through the window he broke earlier.

" I doubt it. It's not like Geto Suguru is involved. Our enemy must be stronger than that. "

" Suppose so. Must be something on his level. Like that other Sukuna." 

You hum in agreement.

" You're Y/N, right? Kamo Y/N." 

You turn around as the two of you turn the street, your water skin uncapped, your body stance ready to fight. 

Kamo Noritoshi. The one cousin you've always managed to come along with.

However, judging by his wide eyes, you suppose he's not from your world, his focus solemnly on Sukuna.

Sukuna, in response, blinks in boredom.

" Yeah. This is Itadori Sukuna by the way. Not the one Yuuji carries around." 

" B-But the marks." 

" The marks I received with my heavenly restriction. Unbinding me from cursed energy. " 

Sukuna merely raises a brow, now mildy annoyed.

" Soo... What is it?" 

Your question brings Noritoshi's focus back to you.

" A-ah, right. I need you two to come with me. We have a plan." 

-

You blink as you, Sukuna, Noritoshi and Panda approach Yuuji from behind, eyes fixed on the man stood in front of Yuuji.

" Y/N, isn't that...?" 

You nod slowly at Sukuna's question.

" Y-yeah. " 

Geto Suguru.

" Didn't you....?" 

" I wasn't here in this universe, remember?- Gojo sensei, he said he....." 

Sukuna nods.

Meanwhile Panda is checking up on Yuuji, placing one gorilla hand on his shoulder.

" ..You're you, right?" 

" Panda!" 

Yuuji's grinning as he turns to face him.

" Is he the one who sealed Gojo Satoru and has the Prison Realm?" 

Noritoshi appears to be as updated about the situation as you and Sukuna are.

" He has to be. There's no one else who causes that man to tweak-" 

" Most definitely. " 

You hurriedly cut Sukuna off, sending him an annoyed side glance which he chooses to ignore.

" Apparantly. What's so fun about walking around with that public nuisance?" 

Sukuna smirks at Panda's words, while you shake your head.

The disrespect is real.

" Who is he?" 

" That's Geto Suguru's face. But we don't know who's behind it." 

Behind it..?

Meanwhile, the man with Geto Suguru's face turns, smiling.

" Hey, Choso." 

Your eyes widen, as you shift uncomfortably.

Sukuna raises a brow in question at you. Meanwhile Yuuji's eyes widen.

" He's..." 

You turn to him in question. Has he come across him too.

" It appears you have noticed." 

" So that's the deal?! Kamo Noritoshi!" 

Your eyes widen, turning to the guys you recognize as your cousin behind you. Everyone around you does the same, with Noritoshi even pointing a questioning finger at himself.

" Me?!" 

" Huh, what is he talking about?" 

" The stain of the Kamo clan. The vilest sorcerer in all of history. If what he says is true, then whatever's hiding in Geto must be over 150 years old." 

" Kamo Noritoshi is one of my many names. Call me whatever you like." 

" You...! How dare you make me try to kill my little brother Itadori?!" 

Suddenly, out of nowhere, an unfamiliar person with a red stain in their white hair appears, stepping in between Kamo Noritoshi and Choso. Their eyes shift to Sukuna beside you for a moment, before returning their full attention back to Choso.

" Stand down, third rate. Don't make me wait any longer." 

" Move it! I'm his older brother!" 

Choso doesn't say anything else, gathering his own blood in the palms of his hands which are clasped together, and aiming them at the stranger.

Behind you, your cousin's eyes widen.

" Blood manipulation?!" 

Sukuna smirks beside you, obviously amused.

" Oooh, this finna be good." 

You send him an incredulous side glance. Is this dude serious?

Choso is one hell of a fighter. He's amazing, sending two attacks of piercing blood closely after one another, before somehow managing to move the very earth with it, trapping Geto/Kamo up there with him. He places his palms against the ground he raised, and his blood splatters through. Right after, he sends piercing blood again and again, aiming at Geto who has used one of his curses to fly. Their fight is explosive.

At least, from Choso's side it is. Geto is calm. Accepting attack after attack, avoiding them with a smile each time. In some messed up way, it almost looks like he's having fun.

" I'm so glad you can nullify that." 

Sukuna's smirking, his eyes on the fight in front of him. You hum. You can't imagine what your fight would've been like if you had been up against that.

" Same." 

Noritoshi glances at you, evidently surprised.

" Y-you can nullify blood manipulation?" 

You hum, not even looking at him as you answer.

" How?" 

" Water manipulation. Blood is made up of 60% water." 

Yuuji's glancing at you, finally understanding how Ryomen Sukuna had been stuck mid attack when he tried to kill you. You had been the one in control of his body for that split second. Not Sukuna. The realization of you having that kind of power kind of terrifies him. However, before he can question anything, Panda speaks.

" Just to be clear, you two aren't related, are you?" 

" Absolutely not. He almost killed me." 

Yuuji shrugs off the remainder of his uniform shirt, the fabric having already hung on by just a thread. You hope he won't get cold.

" First it was Todo.- You emitting some weird kind of pheromones or something?" 

" Sukuna was the second though.-"

" Shutup woman, that's different." 

You grin, bullying your best friend just slightly. 

Noritoshi ignores your banter.

" Still, he has created a disturbance. We must use it to our advantage." 

Yuuji wipes the blood off of him, and you watch him concerned.

" Yuuji, want me to heal you before we engage in another fight?" 

He doesn't look at you as he shakes his head.

" No. I'm fine. Heal me later." 

Unbeknownst to you, he won't ask you to heal him later, stuck in guilt for when Ryomen Sukuna tried to kill you. He feels he's undeserving of your healing abilities currently.

" I still have two cores left, so I'll go out front. If we all attack at once, we can create an opening.We gotta retrieve the prison realm at all costs!" 

All of you charge forward after that. And you're not the only ones. from the other sides, your allies are joining you.

However, none of you make it far.

" Ice formation: Frost Calm." 

Your eyes widen, and before any of you realize, you're stuck in a very thick layer of ice.

Beside Sukuna, Yuuji breaks free, breaking the banter between Geto and this stranger (you hadn't bothered listening to them.) Next, he frees Choso, who has in a tight situation, with the icy stranger pointing a very sharp icy finger at him.

" Whose body do you think that is?!" 

The icy stranger appears rather displeased with Yuuji.

Are they an ally of Ryomen Sukuna?

" You're our ally right?" 

" No!" 

" Hue?!" 

" I'm your brother.-" 

You stop following their banter after that, focusing on the ice formation surrounding you (which is also starting to rain down of you, as the stranger releases another ice based technique.

However, it never reaches any of you.

Someone else joins the scene just at the same time as you manage to wiggle your hand.

Ice is made up of water after all.

And Tsukumo Yuki has arrived.

The metro stations are empty.

It doesn't take you long to find out, and instead you find your way above ground again, intending to join forces with Nobara, who must be lingering around somewhere without doubt.

" Inumaki!" 

Not too far from where you're stood just outside of the metro exit, is Inumaki stood, hunched over, holding his shoulder. Your eyes widen in horror as you realize that he's missing his arm.

Did that happen while you were fighting that curse user in the metro station earlier? 

Inumaki glances up at you, his eyes wide alert. His collar is left unzipped, showing his mouth, the marks of his cursed technique pinched together as he grits his teeth in pain.

You snap out of it, taking off the cap of one of your refilled water skins to come to his aid. You don't speak as you lower his zipper further. The part of his shirt on his left side is soaked through in blood. You can't imagine the pain. However, you don't linger on it, manipulating water like you've done often. The water engulfs his shoulder, and once your ability starts running through his body, he visibly collapses, resting his head against your shoulder while you do your best to heal him. 

Understandably, his wounds sucks up a lot of water. You've never healed a wound quite that bad before, never healed someone who lost a limb. Eventually, all that's left to heal is outer layers of his wound, his bloodpaths reattached.

Your peaceful moments get interrupted by a sudden curse flying your way. You grimace, focusing your cursed energy in your leg as you kick it away. 

For now, you pause your healing as you get ready to face this curse. Inumaki is quick to respond too. Obviously, he's completely out of shape currently, needing to rest and heal. However, it doesn't look like he's planning to do so. He readies his stance behind you, ready to fight by your side.

You narrow your eyes as you realize that the curse who attacked you is the same curse which was down in the metro station.

Did it follow you?

" Toge, step out of the barrier. If your shoulder gets hit my cursed technique will come undone. " 

Toge looks uncertain, his eyes switching between the curse spirit and you.

" Pickled mustard leaf."

'I'm not leaving you to fend for yourself. I can help.'

" You should help me by leaving, Toge. I can't witness any more people who I care for dying." 

Your voice is strong, certain, leaving no room for argument.

Meanwhile the curse spirit grins creepily.

" I've killed the other two. " 

It's lying. You know it is.

You scoff, Your cursed energy reaching for the remainder of your water kept inside of your water skins.

" You wish you could." 

With that said, you produce a harsh wave, sending him flying.

" Toge, Sukuna and I left Megumi in the shopping district of the city. We kinda... forgot him, to be honest. Please find him and take him outside of the barrier with you."

You don't leave any room for argument, chasing after the cursed spirit, reaching him in a heartbeat.

" I hope you're ready because we're going to end you today!"

Yuuji and Sukuna are hot on Mahito's heel, following him with every step. That doesn't mean that things go flawlessly though.

Currently, both are running up the stairs, reaching another level of the metro station, only for Yuuji to get hit with a line of humans, their bodies stabbed through by Mahito's arm.

Sukuna's eyes widen.

What the fuck is this thing?

He jumps, avoiding Yuuji from collapsing into his body. In one smooth maneuver, he cuts the spirit's arm- or at least, attempts to.

Shit. He forgot to ask for his most prized weapon, stored safely in the space of your domain.

" This is funny. You look like Sukuna, but you have no cursed energy. " 

Mahito's grinning creepily.

Sukuna scoffs at him, sheating his sword back in it's sheat. Instead, he unties the cloth he has wrapped around his thigh, wrapping it around his hand. It's imbued with his universe' Yuuji's cursed energy, allowing his punches to have effect. He doesn't need a weapon to take the thing on. He'll wring him with his bare hands.

" Are you okay?" 

Yuuji is concerned, his hands gentle as he breaks the man's fall.

The man turns to face him.

" Yeah." 

He's not. The man's head turns blue before exploding, his blood splattering all over Yuuji. 

Mahito, who knew this would happen, is quick to close in on him, changing his hand into a weapon. Sukuna follows, Mahito's hit never coming in contact with Yuuji as as Sukuna interferes, punching it swiftly in it's side, sending him flying.

Nobara glances up, noting that something has flown into the roof behind her. She doesn't hesitate, sending nails it's way as it aims to punch her.

It's gone before she can see what it is, but soon enough, the cursed spirit comes running back, aiming an attack that elongates it's limbs in some sick way. The different ends of it's limbs punch into the ground harshly. Nobara, who had seen it aiming her way, runs, avoiding them from hitting her. She ends up on the roof, aiming yet another nail at it. 

It hits.

Finally, you return to the scene after that, jumping through the air in time to notice the curse expanding it's limbs once again. Thankfully, you had already been speeding water in that familiar lethal circle, and you slam it down.

The curse's eyes widen, pulling back just in time as your attack hits the ground. The ground cracks beneath the force, a huge slash left in it's awake.

It's eyes widen, amusement dancing in it's eyes.

It didn't expect you to have that kind of power. 

" Not bad!" 

It's amused, intrigued in your power. But did you have the ability to fight him? 

Either way, it chases after Nobara as you hit the floor, your newfound cursed energy recharged and ready to use as it leaves an indent where you hit the floor as you finally land.

Meanwhile Nobara is cautious to keep it's hands on a distance.

Good. She's aware of it's power.

" You're no fun." 

The cursed spirit is quick to charge at her again once it realizes she knows, throwing several objects her way.

Nobara doesn't back down, throwing nails in return and continuing and blocking it's attempts to harm her.

You don't back down either, charging at it as well. 

It's surprisingly smooth, evading your attacks while also managing to continue attacking her.

" Neither of you can beat me." 

He's probably right. Nanami mentioned in a report that only Yuuji's attacks seem to have effect on him. 

However-

" We know, but sometimes you just gotta try anyway!" 

Nobara's words are nothing short from the truth, and soon enough, you notice what's happening. You jump onto the roof, out of her way, as she jumps down, activating her cursed technique.

" Hairpin!" 

At once, the nails beneath the curse explode. Nobara grins, satisfied as it's hands are severed. She jumps on it next, slapping her strawdoll on its body and raising her hammer.

" I've been wanting to try this on you for a while now. Resonance!" 

Both of you grin at one another, before sharpening in on the situation again. Her technique is effective against it, which was understandably great. However-

" That was odd. I just felt my cursed energy explode somewhere else nearby. Let's see. Your cursed energy is weak, and you passed on the chance to grab me earlier too. You're some kind of double that can't use its technique, aren't you?" 

Your eyes widen at her words. She's right. It makes sense. 

The curse, or well, the curse's double, grins, licking it's own blood off it's face.

" Correct." 

Meanwhile, Sukuna and Yuuji are watching with wide eyes as several spikes puncture through Patchface, recognizing that cursed technique all too well.

" Nobara." 

" Sukuna! Now!" 

With that, the two of them rain down punch after punch on Mahito.

" Sukuna, once Nobara's cursed technique has worked out, let me do the punching. You don't have the cursed energy to protect yourself!" 

Yuuji's words have no ill intent, yet Sukuna scoffs, huffing with a nod, giving Mahito a particularly harsh punch and sending him flying.

" Tch. Fine. Don't concern yourself over me. You'll get distracted, and I'm not weak." 

Yuuji nods in acknowledgment, but doesn't react otherwise.

He doesn't know how to feel about Sukuna, especially because of what Ryomen Sukuna just did. Cursed energy or not, Itadori Sukuna was dangerous, strong. He saw it while Ryomen Sukuna was in control. Your Sukuna stood a serious chance if he was given the right weapon.

Yuuji wouldn't dare underestimate him.

" This is where the real battle begins!" 

Nobara's grinning, as are you. You have a chance.

" Nah.. I'm outta here!" 

The duplicate takes the both of you by surprise, shooting off in the opposite direction instead.

" What?! Hold it!"

The both of you charge at it, and soon enough you realize it's heading back to the metro station.

You understand Nobara's train of thought as the both of you are running, realizing the plan that's formulating in her head. You don't always need to communicate with people to catch on, and right now is one of those moments.

If you continue down this pad, you'll make your way to B5, where Gojo sensei is sealed. You had originally pushed that aside. Alone, you would be no match for Geto Suguru's cursed technique. Not in this environment.

If only you were near a river now.

The both of you follow after Mahito, jumping after it as it jumps down into the metro station.

Meanwhile the original Mahito jumps into multiple smaller versions of himself beneath Yuuji's punch, avoiding it at the last second.

Damnit. It split up.

It's not stupid either, choosing to run away in multiple directions. 

" Shit." 

Sukuna scoffs, taking out his Chain once again, getting to work with destroying one after another. Yuuji punches one of the other ones, the one with the most cursed energy.

However, once Mahito has gained enough momentum between Yuuji and Sukuna, he comes back together again.

" Haha, fooled ya'." 

And then he's running off.

" Come back here you fucking wuss!" 

Sukuna's visibly irritated. He hates it when opponents chicken out.

Truth to be told, Sukuna loves fighting. It's one of the rare things he's good at and useful for. He doesn't really care if he has to exorcise something or kill it. He doesn't care who he has to kill. As long as the people who he cares for are at his side.

Exasperated, Sukuna throws his Chain Mahito's way, who gets lucky, avoiding it at the last minute, jumping down the escalator.

Why was it heading towards that part of the metro station?

Yuuji is the first to see both Mahito's, confused by the double's appearance.

Sukuna follows shortly after.

Both boys their eyes widen as they notice Nobara and you at the other side.

Confusion rushes through the both of you, and it takes you a moment before the dots connect in your mind.

The spirit never followed you. It had been fighting Yuuji and Sukuna this whole time. You thought it had followed you and then split up as some kind of survival tactic.

" Itadori?" 

" Kugisaki! Y/N! Run!" 

It's too late. The spirit is too quick.

By the time Sukuna catches up in realizing what is happening, the spirit is too close to Nobara, and close to you too. It was too late to throw out the Chain and pull the spirit back towards them to save the both of you. He tries either way.

Your eyes widen in horror as the curse's hand slaps against Nobara's face, swiftly hitting her for a moment before heading your way. 

You're lucky. You're incredibly lucky. Your fighting style was engraved into your subconscious, allowing you to move without thinking about it. A harsh training your parents ordered you to follow in case the Kamo clan would ever decide to attempt to take your life. The Clan never had. They had rightfully been too scared of your parents to ever seriously harm you. 

However, your parents aren't here to protect you. Except for Sukuna, you're on your own. 

Today, your fighting style saves your life. The sleek movements of your body allowing you to move along the curse spirit's body, allowing you to escape its lethal touch in reflex. 

And just to Sukuna's luck, you step in the right direction, his Chain wrapping around your arm.

By the time you're glancing down at your arm in realization of what just happened, he's already pulling you his way harshly, causing you to loose your footing as you stumble in his direction.

Meanwhile Yuuji snaps as the double grins, laughing about Nobara's injury.

" Haha! Hit you dead on!" 

" Out of my way!" 

Yuuji hits the double harshly only once. It's enough to kill it.

Sukuna meets you halfway, catching you before your body hits the ground, his arms secure around your waist as he catches you. Neither of you speak. You numbly get back on your feet as you gently call out to her, scared eyes searching her expression.

" ......Nobara..?" 

Everyone watches with bated breath, unwilling to loose her. You make quick work of uncapping your water skin, running out of Sukuna's loose hold as you manipulate a stream of water towards her, using the same technique you've used on Tsumiki of your universe. It glows as it surrounds her. Perhaps, your technique was strong enough to save her. You're already crying, though you don't realize it, desperate to save the girl you know as your best friend.

" You!" 

Mahito does not like you. Your reverse cursed energy is blinding. And if you keep this up, you'll save her.

He extends a hand towards you, and Sukuna is quick to react, pulling you back, out of harm's way. Though it does the trick: it breaks your concentrations, your healing circle breaks, and Mahito's technique runs it's course as it would.

" Yuuji, Y/N, Sukuna, please tell everyone: It wasn't so bad." 

She's smiling as her face contorts, before the side of her head explodes.

Yuuji's voice is small as he calls out to her.

" Nobara?" 

You start crying, and this time, you do realize it.

" Oh.." 

You, Yuuji and Megumi's eyes are wide as Nobara spills her cup of coffee on Gojo sensei's blouse. You don't doubt that it was most probably unnecessarily expensive.

" Shoot." 

" You've done it now, Kugisaki. This is Gojo sensei's, right? " 

Yuuji's words are not very helpful as he holds the blouse, a sweatdrop on the side of his head as he inspects the stain.

Nobara stares down at it, seemingly thinking about what to do.

A moment later, she's drawing on the white board, some kind of explanation going on.

" On one hand, we have Ijichi, who entrusted us with this freshly dry cleaned blouse-" 

You blink at her words, leaning your head down on your palm.

Where exactly was she going with this?

"- And then there's me who spilled coffee on it. Who's really at fault?"

" You."

All three of you speak at the same time, causing Nobara to pout.

" Really Y/N? I thought at least you'd have my back in this." 

You give her an embarrassed smile. Usually, in any other  situation, you would. But this really was her fault. You couldn't possibly defend her from this.

" Let her be. Don't pressure her because of your mistake." 

You, Yuuji and Nobara blink at Megumi in surprise.

Yes, you were aware that this universe Megumi seemed to be fond of you, but now he was even standing up for you! ( He doesn't even do that for Yuuji.) 

He glances at all three of you in an annoyed manner.

" What?" 

All three of you simply blink in response, not elaborating.

Moments later, all four of you are working to get the stain out of Gojo sensei's blouse.

" You gotta dab it like this. Dab. Dab." 

" That's what I'm doing!" 

It's not working. Roughly 20 minutes later, you're all staring at the blouse, which is positively ruined.

" Does anyone have Dasty? We might be able to get it out with that if we soak it for a bit and then throw it in the laundry again." 

Yuuji blinks at your words.

" Really?" 

You shrug,

" It works for most stains. I'm not a coffee drinker though so I've never had to fix a coffee stain before."

Nobara appears to not be listening, her eyes fixated on the shirt before she suddenly speaks.

" You think it could pass for a Marimekko design?"

" That would be an insult to fashion." 

Nobara huffs, before turning to Megumi with a smirk.

" C'mon, I'm sure it's cheap anyway. Fushiguro, look up the brand." 

You cringe.

" I wouldn't be so sure about that, Nobara." 

It's kind of what you expected, but somehow even more expensive.

Megumi doesn't look surprised as he shows the price tag, seemingly unbothered by it. Nobara and Yuuji both wear grave expressions, while you bite your lip.

¥ 250,000 That's a lot of money for a blouse.

Ouch.

" A-after tax?" 

" Before. Does it even matter?" 

Nobara sighs, before hardening her expression.

" Fine. I'll put in ¥ 90,000. You guys can put in a little more than  ¥ 53,000 each." 

" Hue?!" 

You agree with Yuuji.

However, right at that moment, you hear the doors of the classroom open.

Your eyes widen, before you take the blouse and shove it in Megumi's face.

" Quick, hide it in your zip up!" 

" What?! Why can't you hide it in yours?!-" 

" You're taller! Gojo sensei's here already!" 

To your utter surprise, he actually does it.

You didn't expect him to listen.

" Morning! Ijichi said you guys had my shirt?-" 

Gojo sensei's smile slips off his face, his blindfolded gaze on Megumi.

You pretend to look innocent, while Nobara and Yuuji are working hard to hold their laughter. 

" What's the matter, Megumi?" 

He's shoved the blouse in his zip up so quickly, that it's caused a huge bump to form.

" It's nothing." 

He looks mildly annoyed as he speaks, but he's still not pulling out the blouse just yet.

Both Yuuji and Nobara break out in laughter, and Yuuji can't explain in any other way but to pull out the blouse from Megumi's collar. Their dynamic causes you to grin. Even if Megumi is irritated by what's happening.

And now, Nobara is dead.

Tears are streaming down your face as you find yourself rooted to the ground, unable to move.

" Kugisaki..." 

Yuuji is on the verge of panicking, of giving up, of calling it quits. And Sukuna knows. 

However, he finds himself unable to move. The marked boy is stood rooted to the ground, one arm still tight around your waist. You're not calling out to him, but he knows that he's the only thing keeping you grounded right now. The only thing keeping you from collapsing completely.

He wants to help Yuuji. He knows he has to, but he fears he's powerless. The Sukuna of this universe is merciless, a true evil. In Yuuji's eyes, Itadori Sukuna is nothing but a bad reminder of the monster who lives inside him. He doesn't recognize him as the asshole brother he is.

Death rarely shakes Sukuna. It was something that has always been that way. Sukuna always seemed to have some kind of error. He didn't have the emotions other people had. He truely cared about very few people, yet didn't mind going out of his way to help another. Yuuji and you are one of the very few people whose death he would actively mourn if it were to happen.

Nobara, one of your best friend's, is dead. But this wouldn't hit Sukuna until he had proper time to sit down. And even when he did, it was a true question whether he'd mourn her.

Sukuna swallows, before softly shaking you. He's toughing up for the two of you. he doesn't know this cursed spirit, doesn't know what's going on in this universe, but if he doesn't step up, Yuuji will get his ass beat and you'll be stuck in your head in a cycle. 

There's no time for that.

Sukuna's eyes widen as the curse, Mahito, closes in, it's focus on Yuuji and Yuuji alone.

" Y/N." 

He continues shaking you, trying to catch your attention. You blink through your tears, trying to regain your attention.

Yuuji gets hit with black flash by the curse. Sukuna shakes you more feverishly, trying to wake you from your numbness.

You finally snap back to Sukuna when Yuuji gets thrown into a wall.

" I need Light Fury." 

Your eyes are wide, taking in the scene, taking in what's happening.

" He needs you.." 

You're back, fully aware again, finally out of your shocked state.

Sukuna shakes his head, his hold on you loosening, before his arm fully slips off you.

He sighs as he faces you, wiping your tears with his thumb.

Sukuna's neutral expression was intimidating, but you have always been able to see through the way he carries himself, has always seen him as him.

And Sukuna knows he could never bring himself to be mean to you when you're crying like this.

Leaning down, he presses a short kiss to your forehead.

" I know. We can't allow their deaths to be in vain. Get me Light Fury, sweetheart. Focus on healing nobara as far as you can. I refuse to believe she dies easy."

You nod, glancing up at him. You're so glad he's here. So glad he's come to save you. So glad you're not alone in this mean universe.

You reach out beside you, focusing on your reverse cursed energy. Some kind of portal opens up behind you, the hilt of a white katana visible. Just like Megumi's shadow follows him everywhere, water is in the very air surrounding you as well. Light Fury is a weapon capable of killing special grade curses. It's loaded on reverse cursed energy. It was originally a regular weapon before Yuta brought it to you with the idea.

Sukuna rips it out of the small portal, allowing it's energy to attract Mahito's attention.

The two of you split up. You take a deep breath before focusing, drawing your ring of water with every last drop you can physically find around you as you drop to your knees besides Nobara's body.

Sukuna was right. Your best friend is tough, You couldn't accept her death just like this. She was too stubborn for that. 

You focus, really focus, finally. Your eyes close as you focus on her vitals, on keeping her alive, or forcefully keeping her body going.

Meanwhile, Sukuna joins the fight.

Mahito seems impressed, avoiding Sukuna's newfound blade with an interested expression in it's eyes.

" Oooeh, you wanna join in on the fun? Found a new toy?" 

Sukuna doesn't react, his eyes sharp on Mahito as he calls out to Yuuji.

" Yuuji. Get up. Stop crying. We need you. We don't have time for that." 

Sukuna could never be soft with Yuuji. Not during training, and not while they might be fighting to their deaths either.

Yuuji shakes his head. He's completely given up. Completely gone. Sukuna would be one of the last people who can save him.

" You should leave. You and Y/N both. I already almost accidentally killed her. This isn't your universe. Go home." 

Sukuna rolls his eyes in annoyance, a vein popping in his head. Did he really have to act all depressed now?  (  Yes, Sukuna, was nowhere near soft on Yuuji. Ever.)

he doesn't need to fight Mahito long. Within seconds, he's suddenly moved to a completely different spot, his place taken by what appears to be a loose rock.

He only knows one asshole with that technique. Todo.

Meanwhile your nose has started bleeding. You're really demanding a lot from your body today, demanding a lot from both your curse energy and reversed curse energy. At this point, you're fighting to stay awake. 

You're exhausted. You don't even know if Nobara is dead or alive anymore. You're fully focusing on healing her, even if it proves to be aimless. You've reached a point where your head hurts, your energy is reaching it's limits, and you can't feel her vitals.

" I- Are you okay?" 

Nitta Arata is both amazed and terrified. You're surrounded by reverse cursed energy, as is Nobara's body.

His call to you makes you blink. Your vision is already hazy.

" Huh?  Who are you?" 

" My name is Nitta Arata. I'm here to help. My technique can stop injuries from getting worse.-" 

Nitta stops talking as you collapse. The ring of water is completely gone, dissipated in Nobara's skin and the air surrounding you. Nitta watches it happen with wide eyes before rushing over. He treats you first, before deciding to apply his technique to Nobara as well. He doubts she's alive, but you had been too focused to not do that. Nitta glances at you one last time before leaving.

That was without doubt the most powerful reverse cursed technique he's seen in his entire life.

Moments later, he arrives at Todo's side.

" I've finished treating the girls over there. One's probably dead though." 

Sukuna's eyes widen as Light Fury dissipates.

Had you collapsed?  

Todo opens his mouth as he takes a good look at Sukuna, and behind him Nitta tenses up as well.

" I'm from Y/N's universe. I'm not going to bother explaining. We have shit to do, get to work." 

Sukuna's eyes are sharp as he passes by Todo, their heights matching. 

Todo can feel this Sukuna is not a threat. He has no cursed energy after all. He respects him as he passes by. Sukuna's brown eyes flit over Nitta hotly for a second, but he doesn't say anything. Moments later, he finds you, seemingly sound asleep near Nobara's side.

He huffs, leaning down and picking you up with ease. He notes the blood that seemed to have run down from your nose. You must have gone beyond your limit.

" Always getting into fucking trouble. Now I have to go find a stupid nasty Shibuya river again." 

He grumbles, complaining to himself as he carries you out of the metro station, taking one last look at Nobara before sighing.

He doesn't want to leave her body behind, but he has no choice.

He glances down at your sleeping form in his arms, before shaking his head, and finding his way outside.

" So much trouble for such a little shit." 

Yuuji is better off in Todo's hands.
