I Honestly Wonder When Did Everybody Switch Up On Hayley, Hope And Cami.
I honestly wonder when did everybody switch up on Hayley, Hope and Cami.
Literally everybody hated those girls when The Originals was streaming, it was insane and out of nowhere people started liking and loving them.

Another crazy thing is Julie Plec saying Bonnie is too good for Kol and that he's too evil for her, then pairing him with a white witch.... (no hate to Davina, but if he's irredeemable for Bonnie, then he’d irredeemable for Davina, too)
It's crazy because she also paired Bonnie with Enzo, a vampire who if I'm not wrong did abuse/kinda terrorize her friends, maybe not to the extent Klaus or Damon did but regardless (only if my memory serves me right; I don't remember much from Enzo, hence why I'm currently rewatching season five.)
Kol literally killed Davina and we're supposed to buy he's the better choice for her? Whether you're mind controlled or not, having your blood sucked out of your body by your boyfriend would leave a scarr for sure and the fact that Davina never got any trauma from it is insane. Bonnie went through worse stuff every season, of course, but she was never allowed to show any emotion onscreen, especially if it was against her white friends.
Saying Bonnie is "too pure" or has "too strong morals" to be with any Mikaelson or Salvatore is just stupid and clearly wrong. Elena and Caroline hated Damon and Klaus, until they didn't, it's easy to see women are being constantly retconned to fit into this shows storylines yet no one ever bats an eye until it comes to the main black woman from The Vampire Diaries.
And this isn't just with romances either. Fans believe Bonnie would hate Rebekah, when there isn't literally any proof to corroborate this and they haven't even interacted, they think she would hate Hope for being a Mikaelson when Bonnie has never been that kind of person. They're desperate to prove she's an anti vampires or generally a prude simply because she's traumatized and rightfully so. She decides to not be nice to the Salvatore brothers in season one after they got her grandmother killed and she's turned into some sort of supervillain because of it.
If Bonnie's actress had been white, I'm pretty sure her character and bloodline would have been in Mikaelson level by the show and fandom.
Do you think that Hayley/Elijah/Jackson could’ve potentially worked as a throuple? 👀

I actually laughed when I read this question. Not because I think it would be impossible but because I think it would be absolutely wild. Maybe if the show was being run by more interesting people we could have had a storyline like this. It would make sense.
I mean on one hand, we have Hayley and Elijah who are in love and on the other hand we have a forced marriage. If anyone was going to have a throuple, they were primed for it. I have said it before but I don't believe the unification magic is so aware that Hayley and Elijah couldn't have stayed in a relationship. Also, no one proposed the idea of a throuple. I feel like that would have worked for the magic aspect of it.
If it did work, Hayley would have had to be the one to introduce it, and you know she would have. Hayley, especially at that time, was definitely a 'have your cake and eat it too' kind of person. And that is not a critique on her. She knew what she wanted and she went for it. So why not bring up the idea to the men.
Elijah would have been on board. He had been pinning after Hayley for like two years at that point and would have jumped at the opportunity to be with her in any way possible. He also has lived so long that I don't think it would have been strange to him. I joke that I love jealous Elijah but we really didn't get many scenes where he was obviously jealous. I feel like he was just, essentially, too old for that teen drama. So it wouldn't have bothered him that Hayley was also with Jackson. Especially because it would mean he got to be with her as well. Jackson would have been resistant for a variety of reasons. I can see him saying "That's not how we do things." But there definitely was a power imbalance there so I could see him caving and agreeing, but resenting it. So not a healthy throuple.
However, overtime, I could see Jackson and Elijah finding common ground. People love to say the men are so different, but they really aren't. They just wear different clothes. Jackson is more like a Mikaelson than he or the fandom want to admit. Jackson treats his pack similar to how the Mikaelsons treat their family. I think this is something Elijah and he could bond over. They've both had to make tough decisions, even bad decisions, in order to protect the ones they love. They've both also messed up a lot. They also both cared for Hayley and Hope which would likely be the first common ground they could come to.
I also love to think over time, given the chance, Elijah and Jackson would become friends. I can just see Jackson talking about hunting or some nature thing and Elijah just casually asking questions, trying to pretend he's not that interested. We view Elijah as an uptight business man, but let's not forget he was originally a farmer/warrior from what is present day Virginia. Elijah is a country boy. I would love a scene where Jackson is surprised by Elijah's knowledge of farming or hunting and then Hayley walks into an intense discussion about crop yields or the best way to skin a deer.
To me, it wouldn't ever be a true throuple, it would more likely be an open relationship. I just never got queer vibes from Jackson, but who knows. But if the show had focused more on character development and family, and less on drama, we may have actually seen a begrudging friendship and mutual respect from the two men. And Hayley would have truly benefited from that. But we all know how little Julie likes to let women have control over their relationships.
Thanks for the ask! These are always so fun for me.

HOPE POSSESSED BY THE HOLLOW The Originals - Season 4
the ONLY two selfish ass reasons i didn't want bonnie to be hope's mother (in canon) is that i don't think bonnie would want to be a mother straight out of high school (not that she got to fucking experience college ANY DAMN WAY but i think that even in a delicious klonnie world bonnie would want to have kids after college) and anything they said/did to phoebe would have been ten times worse to kat simply because she's black. especially the candice/caroline fans lmfao i know she got hate anyway but that specific breed of insanity was just too much and i didn't even like hayley or phoebe's ass
I definitely get what you mean.
Bonnie would have been a child carrying a child if Hope had still been procreated in season four, and I definitely think carrying a Mikaelson's child, especially Klaus’s, would have fucked up with her, especially being so young. This doesn't mean I wouldn't have loved to see Bonnie in New Orleans or in a romantic relationship with Klaus, though, because I definitely would have enjoyed it. But having kids straight out of high school hardly ends up well.
Though the fans would have been absolutely ruthless with Kat if she had been Hope's mother or even related to Klaus in any way. Just look at how they treated Hayley, who didn't even have a relationship with him, or the way they bashed Cami, who wasn't in a canonical romantical relationship with Klaus until season three. Especially if Bonnie had become pregnant with Hope (or whatever a klonnie child would be called) the same way Hayley was: a one night stand, no strings attached.
There's a lot of reasons why people believe Klaus and Bonnie shouldn't have been a couple, and I'm willing to hear them all unless it's the classic "Bonnie is too pure to be romantically interwined with Klaus" because that's clearly stupid and just false.
I’m not a Hayley/Klaus shipper, but even I gotta admit they’re so similar. They are both so delusional that it’s kinda funny. Hayley genuinely thought she still had a shot with Tyler after helping in the murder of the hybrids. I don’t know what kinda drugs she was on at the time or if she was really that confident - but I actually kinda impressed by her delusions.
Klaus himself is simply delusional. He is on his own little planet. He has daggered his siblings so many times, has hurt them in unspeakable ways, and yet, he is continually shocked/hurt when they betray him - as if he didn’t hurt them first. Him being so depressed when Rebekah or Elijah betrays or hurts him is kinda funny. He’s like a kicked puppy. In his head, their betrayal is totally uncalled for - but him locking his siblings in coffins for centuries at a time is necessary.
They’re so delusional that it’s sad but entertaining at the same time.
Yeah, honestly, for me, it feels kinda weird to actually ship them due to how similar both of them are.
They obviously aren't platonic, considering they slept together, have a whole child and were obviously attracted to each other at one point, but I honestly cannot see them getting in a relationship and most of all managing to make it work.
While I do believe Hayley had slight character development and Klaus had close to none, they needed three and a half seasons to even be able to be in the same room without wanting to kill each other. Hayley hated the fact that Klaus was her daughter's father and Hope even believed her mother hated the fact she slept with her father once. Like it's crazy to me they slept together while complaining about how they would never get a chance with their corresponding crushes of the time. Their treatment towards Tyler and Caroline had simply been awful, and while Klaus had the chance to sleep with Caroline due to fanservice, Hayley never got to be with Tyler, who seemed outright disgusted anytime she flirted with him.
Shippers often act like Klaus and Hayley never had the chance to be together, due to haylijah, klamille, or Hayley's marriage to Jack, but it's just false because they had a lot of time to act on their "feelings" but they never did simply because there were none. Hayley was alone with Klaus for two months during her pregnancy yet nothing ever happened, Klaus even went back to screw Caroline and was busy sleeping with Genevieve while Hayley was in a swamp the last months of her pregnancy. They had seven years too, but nothing ever happened.
And let's not act like Klaus couldn't go for Hayley. If there was a woman he definitely could be with, it was her: they were both immortal, she was a part of his family whether he liked it or not and she was his daughter's mother. He didn't need to stay away from her to protect her, like he did with Cami, because she didn't need him to, but nothing happened either.
But I definitely get the appeal of Klaus and Hayley as a couple, I shipped them once too, but I honestly just can't see them in a romantic relationship, especially because they were just family in canon.
I kinda drifted from what I was trying to say, but thanks for the ask anyway!
