Hypergryph - Welcome To A Clan Of Elites - Tumblr Blog

This little pearlcatcher has a striking resemblance to one of our Chieftains. Perhaps that’s important to note...
Aster was named for the hue of her tail, which resembles the vibrant pink of the aster blossom.

Poses and practice sketches for the Chieftains! It’s so satisfying seeing them together, I have to paint some interactions between these guys. There’s some serious drama going on here, it’s ridiculous. I really hope you enjoy the designs and characters as much as I enjoyed making em!
Let me know what you think, and stay frosty!

And with that, the main players of our Ancient-Talosian tale have entered the stage! The future of every Talosian rests upon on these five dragons...

The Final Chieftain: The Obsidian leader Luxtail!
Luxtail is a magician of stealth and sleight-of-claw, using his bright tail as a point of distraction for his tricks. Though his clan's skills were passed down with entertainment in mind, he's begun using those skills for combat and defense from increasingly dangerous animal attacks. He works very well with Lillune and Arkadi, and goes to them for advice or when he needs help crafting new combat techniques.
As Chief, he isn't afraid to change for the good of his clan, even if it means changing tradition. This ideal rubs the Aurum Chieftain Amber the wrong way, and the two end up butting heads in and out of the council room. He loves performing parlor tricks for others, just to see the awe and wonder on their faces. His clan support the addition of combat to their arsenal, but(like him) are still better at acting out a dramatic fight scene than actually participating in one...
BEHOLD...

YOUNG TALOS LIVES!!
Been checking for antique/metals/metals on the auction house to recreate the lord himself, and finally have him! He doesn’t have the right tert, but I kind of like it this way. He looks much younger, which is fitting for a clan set in the past. The raven set mimics his future clothing, while still having that less-intricate, less developed, more wild feel to it.
Also couldn’t pass up the primal eye
ALMOST...DONE...
“ONLY ONE MORE...JUST ONE MORE OF YOU BASTARD CHIEFTAIN PORTRAITS AND I’LL BE DONE...”

*SLAMS ART INTO TALOSIAN BIOS*
“Now ~ DIE!!!!”

Lillune is a skilled observer. She is always listening, and has mastered reading the natures of dragons. Many trust her even more than their own chieftains, and seek her out for advice. These accolades make her seem serious and stoic, but those that find themselves in her company very quickly find Lillune has a playful sense of humor, and a dangerously sharp talent for practical jokes. She is good friends with The Obsidian Chieftain Luxtail, and is fond of visits to the Obsidian Subclan’s territory.

Arkadi is the Cerulean's Chief and greatest hunter. Like the other chieftains he takes immense pride in his clan's talents, stoking a fierce ambition in his fellow hunters to refine their craft. He is the most critical of Resillian...almost jealous of the young Chief's accomplishments...
Arkadi is a bit of a dreamer, and is greatly inspired by the tales of his star-hunting ancestors. The secrets of the original cerulean knight, Archanis, have been lost to time. But Arkadi believes he can bring such glory back. He often reflects out in the wilderness, connecting with the natural world.

Amber can seen wishy-washy when it comes to decision-making, much to the other chieftains annoyance. In reality, she likes to take her time and reflect before making big decisions. True to Aurum culture, she values art, poetry, and beauty, and is dedicated to the artful teachings of her Clan’s Ancestors. Amber and Luxtail might not see eye-to-eye on how each runs their respective clans, but once in a blue moon they connect over the performative arts: namely dance, music, and theater.

The Second of our Ancient Subclan Leaders, Amber!

The first of our Ancient Talosian Subclan leaders! Resillian is the youngest drake to ever become a Chieftain, largely due to his prolific and driven nature. Being a prodigy doesn’t hurt his chances either. He’s eager to earn the respect of his fellow Chieftains, but grapples beneath the intense pressure that comes with being responsible for an entire clan.
Gonna miss the egg eaters!! Any plans on making a new(old?) group of egg eaters? Also, what's your plan for the website?
They're still here, not to worry!!
The new account is centered around the Talosian's ancestors a few centuries or so after each subclan was founded, and will detail The Cerulean Crisis (I linked the original draft, but have since rewritten a few details just a heads up). No ancient egg eaters planned, but if the story calls for it why not? I'm currently working on portraits/designs for the main characters of this ancient story, so once that's done I'll begin work on the long overdue update of the website.
Man, I had to take a wander through your blog to catch up a bit. I'm really, really sorry you lost your original account! I, like others mentioned, would be a bit of a mess if I did. Please do let us all know if we can help you with things! I'm always up for breeding a lore pair or two for new egg eating shenanigans. ;D Good luck, and always good to see you!
Hey thanks for stopping by! Blog's been a bit bogged down with non-story stuff, but aside from that losing the account has sucked significantly less than if they'd deleted the lore outright. So many kind and generous people have helped me get back on my feet, so the new account has come together very quickly. Heheh, as a shenanigan enthusiast, I might have to take you up on that!

*sends loving support to you because you still an amazing artist, writing really fun and fascinating stories, and you are definetly one those people I look up to a lot*
I hope you have a good day and summer!

Reading this makes the heavy lifting feel light as air :D thank you for supporting my work for as long as you have, and for sticking around after the account move. It's truly a blessing seeing a familiar face (icon? Haha) and getting to share and exchange such creative lore ideas and questions with you!
I hope you have a wonderful summer as well ^^
Fun fact, in FR lore Fae speak in total monotone. That has made many comics with fae even funnier, yours included. Go read your latest fae comic in monotone if you ever feel sad, it'll probably get a giggle out of you.
Read this and immediately dropped everything to make this video
Oh my god?? This is brilliant, what a way to wake up xD

Pearlcatchers that are bastards(tm) are the best.
Feat @hypergryph 's Matthias!
saw the animation and AAAAAA ITS SO GOOD /POS (I saw that coatl is that Charged???)
^^ Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! Parts 2 and 3 are coming soon, I'm super pumped to finish them.
The Coatl on the tapestry is Archanis, the Founder of the Cerulean subclan. He's known for being the first hunter to capture stars, and is Arkadi's(the spiral character in the Animatic) ancestor.
Beware The Ides Part 1 ( Flightrising Animatic)
(TW BLOOD!!!)
Is there any reason in particular plague dragons keep popping up as villians in your lore or is it just coincidence?

I have a love-hate relationship with Plague, and the feelings often times clash. On one hand, the themes of survival, decay, life, and the struggle that comes from that, is profoundly cool to me and fun to play with in fiction. -Their eye colors are also second only to light in my opinion; they look like rubies-.
On the other hand...I DEEPLY abhor irl suffering brought about by illness and physical ailment . Having plague dragons always present is a love-letter to Plague's interesting lore, while having them almost always be villains is self-indulgent hate-mail to the concept of suffering via illness and plague...
The timing of this question is pretty notable, too, as I just recovered(thankfully) from the virus-that-should-not-be-named. My hatred for being sick has been renewed once again.
That new tumblr store did the Skyrim “By Talos, this can’t be happening” joke, and for a hot second I was very confused and wondered if some algorithm was spying on the blogs I follow, lol.

Heya! Super sorry you lost your old account, that has to be heartbreaking. I can’t even imagine what I’d do if I lost my account, but you went the extra mile with all that lore and animation— oof. Two questions: Will you be continuing any of your Egg-Eater/Veilspun lore, just “off the record”? (And would you perhaps be interested in a roleplay on FR? Hope I’m not overstepping too much by asking! ^^’)
Oh definitely, just off site. I'll be building up my new lair for a little bit before I jump back into the Egg Gang/Veilspun story, but when I update those it will be on here and on the Egg Eater Website. My new lair is still in the same universe since it's just the early days of the Talosians, so there's still lots of talosian lore to be had!
Also, no you're not overstepping at all! I'd love to RP, just send me a message via FR and lmk the rules ^^
