It's Good Friday. Time to get emotional

Every time I think about it, it always really gets me the way Jesus, in such pain and agony, instead of crying for himself, yells "Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they are doing!" (Luke 23:34)

As Jesus was on the verge of death, he cries out "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46) Because in that moment the sins of the world were on Him and God could not look at Him. In fact, He can't even call God His Father!

The greatest pain for Him was experiencing what we feel every day... A separation from God because of sin! If we are so used to this pain, I can't imagine the ecstacy we will feel when we get to stand in God's presence unhindered in the future...!

Watching all of this was enough to even convince one of the ROMAN GUARDS that "Truly, this man was the Son of God!" (Mark 15;39)

Please take a moment to just... Thank God for the big things and the little things, today. Take a moment to feel some Joy at the life He gave us.

Jesus must have had the most captivating eyes ever. I mean, imagine looking into the eyes of the one who has seen every sin you’ve committed and still loves you all the same. Imagine looking into the eyes of the creator of the universe.

Love does not equal Tolerance

Tolerance turns a blind eye. Love gives a helping hand.

Tolerance says we’re all okay. Love says we’re all sinners.

Tolerance promotes compromise with the world. Love promotes steadfastness to God.

I don’t care what percentage of Planned Parenthood’s services are abortion Or whether an abortion was late term Or whether it was due to a “morning after pill” abortifacient I care about the aborting mother’s circumstances because I love her, noting that her circumstances do not change the result  The result of every deliberate ending of a life in the womb, whether a zygote or a full term fetus Because guess what When the sperm and the egg unite  A life with unique human DNA is created

And I don’t believe I’m God I don’t believe that I can arbitrarily say  “you’re human now because you’re big enough you’re human now because you have a certain ability you’re human now because you have potential you’re human now because you have no disability you’re human now because you’re the right gender you’re human now because you are wanted you’re human now because you were expected you’re human now because your father is not a rapist you’re human now because you are independent you’re human now because you are loved.”

I don’t believe any human has the right to draw a line in the sand and assign other humans value.  Because as technology advances and enables them to keep younger and younger premature babies alive after birth, and your “viability” week line changes to 19 weeks, does that mean the worth of those children changes from worthless to worthwhile? Do they become human, these children of the future, when their ancestors at the same gestation were deemed non-human?

Any line we draw is arbitrary.

And I’d hope that, if someone is deemed human, it would automatically follow that it is wrong to kill them, no matter what. That they have rights, even if they cannot voice them, just as full term born infants have rights because they are human, even though they cannot voice them. Even though they are totally dependent on their mother to live. Even though they may or may not be wanted or expected. Even though they are small and fragile. They have human rights because they are alive.

No one contests that this entity in the womb is alive (except for the “parasite” camp, which most can see as the disgusting view that it is), nor do they contest that it is of the human species (as opposed to a cat fetus). What they contest is that this human life is equal to a “human being”, the loaded term that connotates a life with rights and dignity and equality with “us.”

And I do not believe human beings have the right or ability to assign dignity.

Do not judge God based on what a Christian is like. God is perfect, we are not.

Hi there! I just wanted someone to pray for me. I didn't know when it started but I noticed that I was slowly drifting away from God. I was very excited to do devotions and read His Word before and I can't even let a day pass without opening my Bible. I want to be emptied and be filled again. I have no one in my church that I could open up to. So please include me in your prayers :) Book suggestions or reminding me a particular verse might help. Thank you and God bless! Just read someone say on Facebook, “I am a Christian but there are lots of things that Christians no longer follow from the Bible because they are out of date.”

Please be careful brothers & sisters- stuff like this is so dangerous. The Bible is either completely true or completely false. I would rather hear someone say they don’t believe ANY of it is true than to call themselves a follower of Jesus (aka. a Christian) and only choose the parts of the Bible they believe work for them. By believing this you will NOT ONLY go astray, but you’ll also lead others with you. You’re either HIS, or you’re not. Period.
