I'm not the biggest fan of the 2019 Ne Zha film, but if it does anything right, it's some cool ass fight scenes. This screenshot in particular where he holds the spear inches away from Ao Bing's eye looked so cool they made it the poster shot. Figured I'd pay some homage

gonna get ahead of the curve and acknowledge this before it gets pointed out yes I’m aware that I chose outs at different stages of their lives but a) I refuse to draw Jon aged up mostly bc they sucked out all his individuality and b) I have other plans for Damian’s traditional Robin suit that he wears in Supersons. The outfit I gave Damian here is to match the rough timeline I’ve drawn his family in. I’m waggling my finger, it was on purpose so I better not see any gripes.

Gotta love the entertainment oligopoly and their power to erase the digital existence of hundreds of peoples hard work. Buy physical copies of your favorite shows, especially if they aren't owned by a major broadcaster

Omg I just made up a headcanon just now (feel free to shoot me if it's unoriginal or obvious)

So in ASL people will often assign nicknames (because it's way faster than spelling out a person's entire name) and these nicknames are often really blunt. In English, could potentially even be rude (it's a lot like Spanish nicknames actually).

So here's the headcanon: Sonic called Miles Tails because of sign language. Miles was really only known by that name, but then he met Sonic and Sonic is a fast, blunt, and kinda mischievous guy. However, he made Miles proud of his twin tails, so he felt pride at that nickname. So he started going by Tails even around others, and it sorta just became his name.

Same could even go for Knuckles. The guy grew up completely isolated, probably didn't even have a name. Sonic saw his big spiky hands and called him Knuckles. This would also explain why his name happens to also be the name of his tribe. Knuckles probably knew this, but didn't argue. If anything, it'd be like calling someone by their last name/family name.

Something funny about how the Sonic Prime team spent sm time studying Shadow’s character to make sure they got him right and he ended up being the greatest incarnation of the character we’ve ever seen and how one of Jeff Fowler’s first VFX jobs was on the Shadow the Hedgehog 2005 cinematics and we’ve seen how dedicated and understanding he is to this franchise and now he has the chance to have the Shadow the Hedgehog in his Sonic movie.

We’re in for peak Shadow characterization again I think
