It was only supposed to be a bet - until things went a bit too far… You shouldn’t have messed with Jeon Jungkook’s heart.

Since you lived in a small town, you were well known. You were considered popular around there. Due to your title, almost every guy in town wanted to have the honour of dating you. But not everyone got the chance. In fact, you had only ever dated 2 guys, properly that is. Park Jimin and Kim Taehyung were the only partners you ever held genuine feelings. But after being tricked by both their gorgeous features, who crushed your hearts with their cold actions, you swore to never fall for another guy again. It seemed all the guys you liked were heartless jerks.

So you instead took to dating attractive men and breaking their hearts once you were bored with them. Perhaps this would classify you as a number 1 bitch, but you never really cared, only remembering the pain you felt when you found out that Park Jimin cheated on you with at least 5 different girls. Not that you were completely heartless, you never bullied anyone or anything. It was just your dates that you tortured. Otherwise, you didn’t do anything terrible…excluding your harmless gambling.

 The bets first started when you dared Yoongi, one of your closest friends, to date a girl who you overheard talking trash about you. It was revenge for you, and a new game for him. Easy. Date her for a week, make her fall for Yoongi, then crush her heart below his heel. It was sadistically pleasing to see her tear stricken face as she let out ugly sobs about them being ‘soul mates’. After that first spark, the entire gang got involved. The game now went around Hoseok, Yoongi, Jin, Namjoon, Jieun, Taeyeon and you.

You would spin a bottle to decide who would have to date the next victim and bet high stakes on it. You were fortunate to only have been picked twice, and having won both times. It’s not like any of you lost the bet anyway.

However, today was not your lucky day. The glass bottle spun furiously before landing firmly on you. You groaned loudly, waiting for the victim’s name. Your friends shared a glance before Hoseok spoke.

“See that kid over there?” He gestured to a boy sitting in one corner, alone with the other outcasts.

“Jeon Jungkook?” You asked, gaze fixed on the raven haired male.

“Yeah. He’s new here. The librarian’s son. He shouldn’t be too hard,” Jin grinned at you.

When you didn’t say anything, Jieun piped up.

“What, you scared or something?” She smirked at you.

“No, it’s just that he’s new, I don’t want to traumatize him or some shit.” You frown.

“Since when did you care?” Namjoon shot back.

You sighed. He had a point. “How much then?”

“1000. You know the drill, 7 days, next Monday you gotta finish him.” Yoongi said

You weren’t sure who you were telling to be quiet, finger pressed into pursed lips and directed at the wide camera lens staring back at you from it’s hidden position beyond a variety of trinkets littering a dresser in your bedroom. Two steps back and you registered it wasn’t hidden enough, the blink of the red recording light mocking you, the bulky black plastic not shielded in the slightest by Jeongguk’s favorite turtle shaped paperweight or a tangled mass of lanyards he’d acquired over various conventions. 

You eyed his collection of caps where they hung on a neat rack on the wall, internal light bulb causing you to dart for one, retrieving a black one in a mess of other mundane grey and navy and white. The force in which you stepped back, already stretched in an awkward position on your toes to reach, rattled the rack against the wall, effectively dislodging a few others such as two bucket hats in shades of beige previously balanced to the top of the rack resting on no real hook. 

The camera caught your full bodied wince, shoulders scrunching up to your ears, holding the black baseball cap to your chest like a prize for the unintentional chaos you’d just created. When your heart rate calmed enough to be productive, you opened the hat, tossing it over the camera so that the lens peeked out from the bill. Not perfect, but better. Your fleeting thumbs up to the camera was barely in shot as you slid around the corner, collecting his hats in armfuls and replicating the previous pattern the best you could manage. 

With a huff and a hint of sweat curling into your hairline, you returned in view of the camera to whisper, “I think it’s me that needs to be quiet—”

“Babe? Baby!” A door shutting. Rubber soles hitting the wall. Socked feet padding closer. The sound of a plastic bag hitting the countertop. “Where are you? Tae sent me home with bananas from that tree he’s been genetically engineering on him and Jimin’s back porch—”
