Hybrid! Alpha! Baby daddy! Bunny! Jungkook X Pregnant! Human! Chubby reader (wow, what a mouth full.)
Babydaddy au, CEO au, hybrid au, sperm banks, Jungkook has a short temper because I think it’s 🥵...😳..Anyway...Enjoy.....
“Hyung!” A Lovely Afternoon turned hectic upon the arrival of another Ceo member; he ducked and dodged, swiftly weaving through the crowd at the entrance. “ Hyung! Seokjin!”
Coming up to the security gates, He swore under his breath, realizing he had left his ID at home; luckily, He had enough momentum to hop up and over the gates. “ I'm sorry!” He apologized to security while speeding by.
“Hyung!” He pushed open his hyung's doors.
Perfect, not one but two hyungs. “ We heard you causing a ruckus downstairs, Bunny Boy-,”
“I'm a dad!” He exclaimed from the top of his lungs
A cloud of confusion filled the office, followed by stunted silence.
“What!!”
What an intro, huh?
Introducing Our male lead, Jeon Jungkook, An Alpha Rabbit Hybrid. Yep, An Alpha bunny- but not just any breed of bunny; a Giant Flemish Lop; a large bunny with enough strength to tear apart most hardware materials and speed to leave a car in the dust. And being an alpha only enhances his abilities.
Unfortunately, the females of his species have a deadly immune disorder causing them to die quickly from illnesses. His species has deteriorated through the past decade.
Jeon Jungkook is a part of an endangered species.
Jungkook's solution involved donating his sperm to a sperm bank; being eighteen then, He didn't think thoroughly of the representations, and now, well over a decade. He receives his punishment...with a smile?
The two hyungs observed the brittle paper. “For-fucks-sakes, Jungkook. Why the hell is your office so disgusting?” Namjoon scoffed at the scattered blankets and empty ramenyeon bowls. “Did you spend the night in here?”
“No, that's from last week.” Jungkook shrugged off the looks of disgust with a slight head tilt.
“Ewww.” Seokjin adjusted his distance.
“I was in the middle of cleaning up.” Jungkook pointed out to Jin before turning to Namjoon. “ So I started on this pile beside the fax machine..I didn't even know I had one.”
“Despite the dust on the paper, The document was dated a month ago.” Namjoon arched his brow at the snags along the sides. For those curious kittens who want to know.
Kim Namjoon (A Doggy Hybrid)
A pure bred labrador retriever minus the human DNA- Sharp as a tack, A born-leader, as handsome as they come, and melts for belly rubs.
Kim Seokjin (A Mouse Hybrid)
He’s a dormouse to be exact and He’s…Jin Shrugs
"We have to see her.” An unfamiliar sensation fueled Jungkook's curiosity and insanity from Namjoon’s Pov
Seokjin laughed, slapping Namjoon’s shoulder. “He's crazy! He-He thinks he can just find her.” Jin 's tears rolled down his rosey cheeks.
Namjoon is often empathic; I mean, he's half-dog; being therapeutic is in his blood. “Listen, Bun; I understand this is important to you, but-” He humorlessly chuckled. “ We-We are lacking in vital documentation on who this woman is or -”
Jungkook's racing heartbeat drowns Namjoon’s panic voice of reasoning, occasionally tuning back in now and again for keywords. Shit. He’s right. Drifting off his headspace for a second, too, he retrieves his answer in the form of a person.
“Or if she's still with child-.”
“Hobi Hyung.” Jungkook interrupted.
Namjoon’s blood ran cold.
“Where?!” Jin startled himself enough to take shelter behind the couch. “I thought he was in prison?!”
“He is; Hyung, Please calm down, you will alarm our co-workers ” Namjoon claimed, opening a window. “What are you bringing up his name for?” His tail curiously curved.
“ Because I might have to get my hands dirty." He smirked, " Don't follow me, Hyung " He teased, dashing out the office door.
Surprise! This was teaser/test? This is my first time trying to hop on the Hybrid AU train so if you like it please let me know and I will happily make more! Please like it 🫶🏽

A thought I felt like sharing.. snake hybrid min yoongi x mouse hybrid reader where yoongis mum walks in on him about to go down on her but he’s being a tease: “Don’t play with your food, son.”
I'm sorry I'm so late, I don't really expect anybody at actually talk to me so I never check lol I got like 2 more I think... I feel so loved. 🥰
I can't imagine Yoongi being anything other than a cat. Like, look at him. Little Kitty meow meow ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ. Smutty...kinda? Just beware, okay.

But a mouse hybrid seems perfect for a sadistic kitten like meow meow. I see him needing a collar not for domestication but for ✨ fashion ✨, honey. Anyway you the unlucky pip squeak got the sassy feline as a partner for project at work. In fear of being cut loose you played along...fighting through any trial he throws your way. No matter how * gulps * scary the threat -
You can't tell if he's purring or growling; it's a difficult call since his voice is so deep. “Hello, Minnie” speaks of the devil. He purred, using his long slender tail as a lasso to reel you into his chest where he commanded, excuse me, proposing the idea of having you for lunch with his parents. " Huh?! Speak up!" Yoongi teased, obnoxiously raising his voice over yours.
" I'm busy!" you squeaked out .
Your bluff was challenged.
" Oh yeah," He darkly chuckled, lowering his cherry lips to the curve of your round ear. "I'm sure your vibrator needs a little break, don't you think?".
You expected his parents to have somewhat more class than their son, but, indeed, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. When you arrive in yoongi's arms, his parents are over the moon at the way you cling to their son out of fear. You didn't realize the restaurant’s clientele is mainly cats.
"She's gorgeous, Yoongi." His mother purred, fluttering her ears. " but there's no point in being here if you bring your lunch." she chuckled as Yoongi did earlier. Like mother like son.
" Mother. " He scolded, flicking his tail before turning towards you. "you know how greedy I can be." those large green eyes fell on yours, occupying you from discovering his large hand creeping up to squeeze your ass.

Rain slapped against the front of Lily’s pickup truck, the wipers working vigorously to sweep the droplets from the windshield as she drove in the dark evening atmosphere. She reached over to turn up the radio as the storm bounced off the top of her metal roof, surrounding her in a loud merciless roar. The lyrics of the song could barely be heard beyond the thick veil of rain pour, but yet a sharp ding resonated from the dashboard. She glanced at her fuel gauge, noticing a bright orange light in the shape of a gas pump glaring at her.
She dramatically sighed as fatigue squeezed her limbs. “Shit.” She muttered, hitting her turn signal to pull over to the oncoming gas station. She quickly found an available place to park before getting out, holding her keys and wallet. She slumped to the machine next to her truck as she mechanically followed the usual protocols to start pumping gas into her vehicle. “I just bought groceries. I just want to go home.” She muttered to herself, plucking the pump handle from its holster to put it in her fuel tank.
The hose clicked in place as she locked the handle before leaning against her truck. She tossed her head towards the gas station, eyeballing the atmosphere and debating to grab a slushie for the drive home. “Eh, fuck it.” She briskly moved across the lot, ducking under her arms from the rain to enter the building in hopes of a cherry-flavored treat.
After waiting in an obnoxiously slow line as someone bought instant win scratch-offs, Lily emerged back to her truck, large slush in hand, to find it was filled to the brim and ready for her to head back out on the road. She timidly pulled the handle out of the funnel then placed it back in the holster subconsciously checking the total cost of her gas purchase before finally hopping in the driver’s seat.
She turned on the ignition, happy to see her gas light was gone, but surprised to see another warning light shining on her dashboard. Her eyebrows furrowed as she glanced back through the small back window only seeing the truck bed cover. She sighed with annoyance as she pushed open her door and walked towards the back of her truck. She paused next to her rear tire when she noticed her tailgate was laid open. She looked at the door curiously, leaning down to check the bed of the truck until a flash of lightning struck in her peripheral.
She squeaked as she shut the tailgate before dashing back into the safety of her truck, her heart pounding as thunder clapped through the air. She exhaled to calm her nerves, “Alright let’s go home.” She turned up the music and pulled away from the pump in hopes the storm would stop once she was back at the house.
The journey home was relatively short and while the rain had yet to let up, the lightning was off in the distance. She opened the two-car garage, backing the truck into the dry space to easily unload the groceries from the cargo net in the back. She slowly moved around the bed to lift the tonneau and nearly had a heart attack when she heard an aggressive growl. She held the cover closed, trying to fathom what the noise was coming from her trunk.
A soft whimper caused her to tentatively glance inside only to find three large dogs huddled towards the front of the truck bed. “How the hell… how did you get in here?” She lifted the tonneau further to get a better look at the inconceivable circumstance.
The first dog was hunched in front of the others protectively with a thin shiny coat of black and brown. The scowl of his snout was evidence of the growl she heard previously. She moved slowly, reaching out to offer him her hand. “It’s okay. I won’t hurt you.” She cooed, hoping the doberman wouldn't bite her.
A smaller dog poked its head out from behind the doberman, ears pressed down as it sniffed in her direction. The coat was thicker and drenched from the rain with a beautiful combination of white, black, and gray. It slowly moved around the intense doberman and nuzzled against her hand. She noticed with the acceptance from the speckled border collie, the doberman released the tension in its jaw.
As she encouraged the border collie with affection, she took a final look to see a mess of white and black digging its head into a grocery bag. That’s when she noticed the crumbs splayed all over the bed of her truck with bits of the plastic bags chewed up from where the dogs broke into her grocery run. “I see you helped yourself.” The Siberian husky crunched loudly on a morsel as his large eyes looked in her direction.
She chuckled despite herself, “I wonder what Rose will say.”
—
“Absolutely not!” Rose hollered after her older sister’s ridiculous proposal. “I can’t believe you brought three of them home.” Rose pressed her fingertips to her temples, exhausted from a long day of studying and the eccentric behavior of Lily.
While Rose was busy with her head buried in her schoolbooks, Lily snuck the three large dogs into the house to grab towels and dry them off. However, the husky refused to stay silent and howled throughout the expanse of the house, his sound echoing off the high ceilings. When the younger sister emerged from her room to find dirty puddles running through the halls from their paws, she was already at the end of her rope. Then she found them shaking themselves dry all over the living room furniture, splattering the fabric of the couch with drops of muddy rainwater.
“I didn’t bring them here! They snuck into my truck!” Lily defended as she rubbed a towel over the thick hair of the husky to dry him off. The doberman stood facing Rose and in front of the others as if blocking her from them while the collie laid submissively on another towel, ears pressed down against his head.
“Yeah, like I’m gonna believe that.” Rose huffed, crossing her arms and glaring down at the offending doberman. “We can’t keep them. So, wherever you got them, you need to take them back tomorrow.”
The border collie whimpered as he looked up between Rose and Lily. Lily stopped running the towel over the husky and moved towards the collie, wrapping the towel around his body like a burrito. “Can you find them some food? Please?” She smiled brightly at her sister as she petted the collie soothingly.
Rose only groaned as she walked over towards the kitchen, scavenging in the pantry for food suitable for dogs. Once she was away, the doberman relaxed and moved to jump on the couch. Lily cringed as she noticed the fabric of the sofa got wet from his fur but bit her tongue as she continued to dry off the dog lying down in front of her.
“You know, I was thinking the border collie would suit a human name like Jack or Noah. What do you think?” Lily projected her voice toward the kitchen, hoping to rope her sister into naming them and growing attached. She bit her lip in anticipation of Rose’s response.
“We’re not naming them!” She heard from the kitchen, causing her to roll her eyes. She laughed it off, persistent in achieving her goal.
“Human names? Okay, maybe something fun and sporty like Maverick or Dynamite.” She ruffled the ears of the collie, cooing nonsense to the dog as her sister went on a rant from the kitchen. She hummed with affection as she ran her fingertips under his muzzle despite the nagging lecture from her younger sister about responsibility.
“How about JK?” A deep voice spoke, causing Lily to pause with fear as she held the muzzle of the collie in her hands. She slowly turned her head in the direction of the voice and screamed when she witnessed a stark-naked man sitting casually on their couch. He sat with his legs comfortably spread out, his frame exceedingly larger than that of the doberman previously in his place. His body was toned and sculpted by inherent athleticism as the natural tan of his skin portrayed his muscles.
He brushed his black hair from his face, the strands damp like the rest of his body. She crawled away from the sight, averting her eyes away from his dewy skin as if he had just walked out from a fresh shower. His large eyes stared at her with a blank expression, challenging her with a quirk of an eyebrow to respond. She glanced around only to find that the doberman was gone, and she began panicking. “W-where?” She could barely speak as her nerves rattled from this strange man being in their home.
Rose stepped away from the kitchen and looked at her sister with concern, “Why did you…” Her voice trailed off as her eyes flicked towards the couch to also take in the naked man dripping on their couch, not even bothering to cover his indecency. “Who the hell are you?” She asked with alarm in her voice.
He simply smirked in her direction, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly. “My name is Jungkook, but I prefer JK.” He leaned against the back of the couch and draped his arms across the sofa like he was asserting his dominance by taking up the most space in the room. He looked at Lily, waiting for her to meet his eyes. “I’m a hybrid, a doberman hybrid.”
The women froze as their jaws slowly dropped in awe. They were aware of the existence of hybrids but had rarely encountered the change, only ever seeing them as either animal or human. Then she realized that the aggressive dog from earlier was now this undeniably attractive man.
“Woah.” Lily whispered simply, unable to process any other words. Her experience with hybrids was novice, but she was intrigued all the same. She knew the rules for owning hybrids were far more complicated than any other domestic pet.
Then the other dogs began to shift, their bodies expanding into the built figure of naked men. Rose was shaking as she watched in horror the husky turn first, curling his arms around his legs as he sat on the floor next to the couch. She was grateful that his strong legs covered the appendage between his legs; already mentally exhausted from one unexpected view.
Much like Jungkook, the husky hybrid had black hair and a toned frame. However, his body was leaner, and his facial features included narrower-shaped eyes and mouth. He smiled sweetly at the sisters despite the fact he was uncomfortably naked. “I’m Soobin.” He leaned his chin on his knee as his eyes danced between them with glee.
Finally, the border collie was ready to share his human appearance as he hunched over from his previous spot on the floor. He timidly moved to pull his towel around his body to hide his bareness like a gentleman. His dark eyes seemed scared as he looked at the women, a shy smile on his lips as he waved a hand. “I’m Taehyun.” His hair was dark with tones of gray and white much like his dog form. He had a smaller frame than the others, but that only served to give him a more pronounced profile as his features enhanced his figure.
Realization finally dawned on Lily, knowing she now had the responsibility of three hybrids rather than three dogs. Her eyes grew wide while her eyebrows rose up in wonder before she turned her attention to her sister. The shocked expression of Rose had her smile sheepishly. “Well, at least we don’t have to name them.”
She tried to laugh off the nerves bunched through her, but the way Rose nearly twitched in irritation told her she had a lot more to worry about. A fire blazed in the blue of her irises. “Oh, hell no!”

Rose’s crystal stare scanned the neatly displayed clothing of her closet, searching for anything large enough that might fit the built frame of the hybrids sprawled about naked in their living room. Anger coursed through her limbs, not expecting to spend her night trying to accommodate three wet and smelly hybrids that her older sister felt obligated to drag home.
She let a sigh of frustration escape her lips as she gently chewed her bottom lip between her teeth, her eyes settling on a pair of her collegiate sweatpants. She snatched the fabric off the hanger, testing the waistband to see it stretch enough to accommodate a man’s physique. She draped the fabric over her shoulder as her eyes continued racking the selection of t-shirts before she caught sight of her favorite oversized band tee that she often used as a nightshirt.
“Of course.” She huffed as she grabbed the graphic tee from its hanger, irritated that she needed to share her clothing with creatures that shouldn’t even be in their home. She draped the material over her arm as she added the sweatpants, pleased with her selection as she turned around to make her way back out of her room to offer something to cover their indecency.
“I think these should fit.” Her voice traveled through the house as she turned the corner into the living room to see the smallest, Taehyun, wrapped in one of Lily’s bathrobes. Soobin was in the process of pulling on a pair of her basketball shorts as Lily offered her own oversized t-shirt. Rose’s glare intensified as she settled upon Jungkook who was still sitting comfortably, unfazed by his nudity. “Here.” Rose groaned as she tossed the clothing at him, averting her eyes.
Once Soobin was fully clothed, he held out his arms as if displaying the way the clothing hung off his features. “A little big, but it’ll do.” Lily tutted proudly, staring up at the man standing before her. Soobin was definitely the tallest of the three, his height towering over the girls while Taehyun was almost identical to Rose’s. Jungkook stood as he tugged the clothing onto his frame, his muscles toned and defined as if he’d been constantly working out at the gym.
Rose caught Jungkook’s stare, his eyes devouring her, clearly attempting to assert his dominance as he pulled her shirt over his head. She stood watching, surprised by how he managed to look good despite the mismatched patterns and colors adorning his body. She caught the slightest smirk pulling at the corner of his lips as she turned away, exasperated by everything that was unfolding.
She yanked her phone out from her pocket, her fingers desperately tapping against the screen in an attempt to look up the nearest hybrid shelter in their location. Lily’s smile faltered as she watched her younger sister intently investigate the screen of her phone. “What are you doing?”
“Looking for a shelter to bring them to first thing in the morning.” She spoke sternly, as Lily moved towards her sister, pleading for her to stop.
“They can stay…” Rose shot a scowl up at her sister, cutting off her words as the boys all seemed to migrate towards the sectional, making themselves comfortable on the large couch.
Rose motioned towards them, her features truly in shock that Lily was even considering it. “They can’t stay. Just look at them! How do you expect us to take care of three full-grown dogs…man hybrids…whatever they are.” She felt Jungkook’s glare pierce through her as she stumbled over her words, not hesitating to return an aggravated expression in his direction.
The sisters exchanged words as Taehyun’s soft voice broke their argument. “We can’t go to a shelter.” The sisters stood silent as the most timid of the three hybrids glanced up at them through thick lashes. “They’ll send us back.” He added, his eyes pleading for Rose to come around to the idea of housing them.
“You belong with whoever owns you.” Rose’s voice was soft, addressing Taehyun with as much kindness as she could without faltering in her decision. His eyes were laced with hurt, the sorrow seeping from his irises as she addressed him.
“Assholes…” That was the word that escaped Jungkook as he stood from his position. “That's who owns us.” There was annoyance in his tone, Soobin standing to join Jungkook as he found Rose’s stare.
Soobin’s eyes traveled between Lily and Rose as Lily’s curiosity piqued. “They kept us in small cages…they were mentally and physically abusive.” Rose’s hardened expression faltered, furious to learn that they were being mistreated. He looked back at his brothers, “We ran away and found food in your truck.” He confirmed, a sheepish look flooding his expression as he recalled tearing through Lily’s freshly purchased groceries.
Lily had enough, sorrowed by what they must have endured as she motioned towards Rose, using her eldest sibling card as she spoke sternly. “Well, that settles it. They’re staying. I refuse to send them back somewhere they aren’t respected.” She glanced back towards the three hybrids, her eyes glued to Soobin as a soft smile stretched on her lips. “Make yourselves at home.”
Rose stood watching the scene unfold, finally giving in to the chaos as she crossed her arms against her chest. “Fine.” She breathed out, as she turned around to make her way back to her bedroom. “You’re responsible for them then.”
Rose wasted no time to retreat to the comfort of her room, tossing herself down onto her duvet as she let a loud sigh escape her lips, releasing the pent-up frustration in her limbs alongside it. She tilted her head to the side, glancing over at her nightstand before pushing herself up to reach for her headphones. She needed to escape from her reality, ready to indulge in some music to help her relax from the anxiety festering in the pit of her stomach.
After the boys indulged in a few snacks from the kitchen, they joined Lily in her bedroom, Soobin and Taehyun shifting back into their dog forms as they stared up at the brunette who was crawling into bed underneath her sheets. Her eyes found the puppy dog stares of the pair, hearing a soft whine from Taehyun as he nudged the edge of her leg with the tip of his snout.
“You can sleep up here. Come on.” She smiled, tapping the empty space beside her. Soobin was quick to pounce up onto the plush mattress, claiming the space aside Lily as Taehyun huddled at the space by her feet. They pawed at the duvet, bunching the fabric until they found a comfortable spot to rest. Lily blinked, watching as most of the space was now occupied by the two large dogs, grinning as she observed Soobin sprawled with his paws stretched out and his back pressed against her. She leaned forward, passing her fingers through Taehyun’s fur as she petted his head, rubbing behind his ear before doing the same for Soobin.
Jungkook was late to the party, watching as any available spot on the bed was taken up by his two eager brothers. He also morphed back into his dog form, peeking in from her bedroom door as he quickly realized he’d need to sleep on the floor or the couch. He wasn’t going to have it. He deserved to sleep on a bed as well and knew exactly where he could find another comfortable mattress to rest upon.
He moved through the hall, his claws tapping against the tile as he made his way towards Rose’s bedroom door, using his paws to tug at the door handle as he bumped his nose against the wood of the door to open it.
Rose was lying peacefully on her bed, soft music playing through her headphones as the sudden sound of her door opening pulled her attention. She shot up, sitting to find a doberman making his way into her room without knocking or being invited in. “No! Get out!” She hollered in his direction, leaning up on her knees as she pointed towards the opened door. She knew this dog was part human and that he understood her words. “Out!” She repeated only to watch him blatantly ignore her, jumping up onto the end of her bed to make himself comfortable.
She let out a furious huff, moving to push him off before getting startled by a growl directed at her. She jolted back, observing his exposed canines as a low growl rumbled in the doberman's chest. She glared at the animal, as she leaned as far away from him as possible, giving up on the notion that she’d be able to get him to leave. She was exhausted from the day and simply wanted to get good sleep before classes tomorrow. She yanked her duvet closer, using as much of it as possible as she laid back down, turning away from him. “Little shit.”
Jungkook’s ear twitched at her words, snapping his jaw shut on the duvet before yanking it away from Rose. She instantly attempted to pull it back towards her, overwhelmed by the amount of strength pulling it from the opposite side. She eventually gave up, groaning in frustration as she turned back away from Jungkook, her heartbeat thumping in her ears from the growing anger overtaking her. “Whatever.” She huffed before closing her eyes, enjoying whatever bit of her duvet she had remaining.

The early morning sunlight seeped through the curtains of Lily’s room, revealing a bed completely empty of any trace of humans. Soobin’s husky form was still sprawled out against the soft sheets of Lily’s bed, Taehyun sleeping peacefully at the foot, recovering from their past few days of terrible sleep from being on the run. Lily went off to work early in the morning, moving carefully not to wake the two sleeping hybrids on her way out.
In the adjacent room, Jungkook was awakening from his night's rest, stretching out his paws half expecting a complaint from his unruly bedmate since they played tug of war over the covers most of the night. The silence surprised him, shifting to peek back at an empty bed, not a trace of the brunette in sight. His muzzle dropped open, yawning in contentment as he relished the comfort of a warm bed after the past few days of sleeping on the streets with the constant fear of being located.
Jungkook allowed himself to shift back to his human form, locating the pair of sweatpants and large t-shirt from across the room as he moved swiftly to get dressed, not wanting to stir a panic with his naked body once again. His nostrils flared as he processed the scents around him, finally adjusting to their new surroundings now that they were in the safety of a secluded home. The room was laced with the subtle scent of vanilla and white gardenia, the same fragrance that camouflaged Rose’s natural scent. Jungkook shifted his eyes towards her vanity, instantly finding a bottle of fragrance spray that matched the soft scent of the human.
He moved about the room, glancing over the variety of picture frames displayed with the stubborn human from yesterday. His eyes settled on two frames atop a dresser, one picture of the two girls from the night before and the other of strangers, the only person recognizable being Rose. He narrowed his stare as he focused on the man standing directly next to her, his hand snaked around her waist as the group of college students posed with a medical skeleton model.
He moved his attention to the dresser, tugging open the top drawer as he reached for a black lacy article of clothing he hadn’t yet seen before. His large hands displayed the fabric in front of him, his eyes darkening as he observed the piece of lingerie, noticing how little the fabric would conceal given he could see through the sheen material. He could only imagine how it would look against a human’s body. What would it look like on Rose’s body? Why would they be so distraught by the sight of them naked if this was the type of clothing they wore?
He looked down, pressing it against his torso to see how small and dainty the article was compared to his built frame. He chuckled before tossing it back into the drawer, shifting through the rest as he explored each outfit and matching bra and pantie set before moving to shift through the objects atop her desk.
His exploration was interrupted by the sound of Taehyun’s voice echoing through the quiet house. “Where are they?” There was panic woven through his tone, Jungkook moving quickly to locate the youngest of the three. He walked into Lily’s bedroom, finding Soobin lazily sitting against the edge of the bed as he pulled up the basketball shorts Lily provided him with. Jungkook shifted his attention down the hallway to see Taehyun wrapped up in her bathrobe as he anxiously paced the house. “They aren’t here! I can’t smell them!”
Taehyun quickly moved towards the boys, his expression frantic as he peered back into Lily’s bedroom at Soobin. “They’re gone! What if they don’t come back?”
“Taehyun, calm down.” Jungkook’s expression remained composed, glancing back at Soobin who also seemed to perk up with concern at Taehyun’s worry. “All of their stuff is here. They’ll come back.” He added, hoping to comfort him as his ears suddenly picked up on the churning growl festering inside of Taehyun’s stomach.
Soobin stood from the edge of the bed, a soft smile pulling at his naturally pouty lips as he moved past them, walking towards the kitchen at the far side of the house. “Rose got us food from here.” He spoke, opening the fridge before his eyes widened at the large array of food dressing the shelves. He grinned before glancing back at Jungkook and Taehyun who equally shared the look of astonishment as they observed their food selection.
Rose pulled into the garage of the house, turning off her ignition as she rubbed her temples, attempting to soothe the headache that pounded against her frontal lobe. Luckily, she didn’t have any clinicals today and only needed to attend her morning class before enjoying the evening off. She often worked as a waitress on the days she didn’t need to report to clinics, however, given their recent visitors, she figured a night off was needed.
She lazily slid out of her SUV, grabbing her bag before pressing the fob to close the opened door. As the soft hum of the motor pulled down the frame of the garage door, she shuffled inside, not really sure what to expect on the opposite end. As she turned the corner of the laundry room, her eyes settled upon the three men draped across the living room sofa with crumbs and empty food wrappings scattered about.
“She’s home! I knew I smelt her!” Taehyun buzzed happily as he jumped up in his seat, his body resting on the sofa cushions while balancing on his palms and feet in a crouched position. He peered over the back of the sofa, his eyes radiating with joy at the reality that they hadn’t been abandoned.
Rose’s jaw hung open, completely flabbergasted by the mess engulfing the living room. Cushions were tossed about on the floor, blankets flung left and right all while the boys lay sprawled across the couch without a care in the world. “What the hell?” Rose huffed, watching as Taehyun’s gleeful expression fell. “The house is a mess!”
Soobin quickly glanced around, suddenly realizing how much displacement they caused throughout the space. He glanced beside him, noticing the empty bag of chips and an opened container of yogurt, quickly stuffing it underneath a blanket in an attempt to hide some of the damage.
“Oh, sorry.” Soobin grinned sheepishly as Jungkook glared at the fuming brunette, pissed off by her consistently pestering tone.
“All three of you are cleaning this up right now!” She scolded, her voice harsh as Jungkook watched his two brothers hang their heads in regret. He wasn’t going to place his tail between his legs, prepared to challenge the brunette with a fiery glare.
“Fuck no. You don’t tell me what to do.” His words instantly caused her jaw to tense, biting down on her teeth before running her tongue against her cheek.
Soobin and Taehyun were already on the move, eager to please her as she was sort of their new owner. Jungkook on the other hand leaned back into the couch, crossing his legs against the coffee table as he draped his arms behind his head. A satisfied smirk pulled at the corner of his lips only to be met with Rose’s furious glare. “Excuse me?” She walked towards the headrest of the couch, pressing her palms down as she leaned forward to meet his gaze. “I’m the human, you’re the mutt. Now clean this shit up.”
Soobin and Taehyun watched silently, their hands meticulously picking at the crumbs scattered against the carpet and couch cushions as they watched Jungkook press forward, coming in close proximity with Rose as he stood his ground. “No.” His voice escaped like a growl, low and threatening as Rose slammed her fists against the edge of the couch.
“You little shit!” She practically screamed in frustration, turning to fume away before catching the saddened stares of Soobin and Taehyun. She sighed as she offered them the slightest smile, grateful that they followed her demands. “Both of you are…um...good boys? Thanks for cleaning up.” She stuttered on her words, not exactly knowing what to say to the hybrids as she stomped her way to her bedroom.
Taehyun practically beamed at the compliment, Soobin grinning as he watched Taehyun howl with excitement. Soobin glanced back at Jungkook, offering him a questioning glare as he raised an eyebrow, only for Jungkook to shrug in response. “You better help. You made part of this mess.” Soobin glared before tossing one of the couch cushions directly at him.
Rose stormed into her room, fuming at the recent interactions with Jungkook as she yanked her phone from her bag, allowing her fingers to ruthlessly type away.
Rose: They’re going back! The house is a fucking mess and JK won’t listen to me!!!
Lily: Just give it time. They aren’t used to us yet!
Rose: Whatever. I don’t have time for this shit.
Lily was peeking at her text messages as they appeared across her LED screen, tapping it shut as a large sigh escaped her lips. She didn’t know anything about hybrids or how to take care of them, all she knew was that they’d need clothes and food. Everything else was a complete mystery.
She let her face fall into her palms as she searched her mind for a way to manage the three hybrids, not wanting to send them back to their owners if they weren’t loved and supported there. She sighed as a knock pulled her from her thoughts, glancing up to find her boss Katharine at her office door.
“Knock, Knock.” She hummed happily as she waved a stack of papers proudly in her hand. “They loved your presentation! They want to meet with us again to discuss marketing to a wider demographic.” The lean woman approached her desk, placing the papers down against the top as her hands settled on her hips. “Think you can have it ready by Monday?”
Lily stood staring for a moment before finally focusing enough to connect her words. “Oh, yeah absolutely!” She smiled happily, thrilled to know that her hard work had paid off.
“Great! Now I remember why you’re my favorite.” She teased as she turned back to her office across the way.
“Hey, Katharine?” Lily called out, standing from her office chair as she contorted herself around her desk to chase after her boss. “You and your husband own a hybrid, right?” She questioned, surprised to see a look of curiosity invade Katharine’s features.
“We do.” She leaned into her back leg, popping out her hip as she rested her arms against her sides. “Why do you ask?”
Lily stuttered slightly, trying to find the words to pose her question. “Would you say it’s challenging to own a hybrid?”
Katharine cracked a smile, her features becoming even more curious as to Lily’s inquiries. “It can be, but once you know the basics it’s not too hard.” She studied her employee and friend carefully as she watched her fidget with the hem of her shirt. “Thinking of adopting?”
Lily blinked knowing she wasn’t going to be able to admit to housing three hybrids especially given that Katharine’s husband worked quite high up in hybrid affairs. “Yeah, my sister and I were thinking about it. Figured I’d ask.” She shrugged nonchalantly as Katharine returned a caring smile.
“Well feel free to ask questions whenever you’d like. I wish I would’ve had more information when we started out.”
Lily smiled quietly, nodding her head as she moved to return behind her desk. “Thanks, I will.”

“I’m home!” Lily hollered stepping into the house with a small bundle of clothes in her arms. She walked through the main hallway, noticing Rose’s bedroom door was closed before moving towards the living room. Her heart swelled to find the three hybrids comfortably draped along the couch while the television played in the background. She wanted them to feel at home and seeing them naturally relaxed around the house reassured her of her decision.
She glanced around the room to assess the amount of damage control she would need to accommodate. She was surprised to find it in the same condition that it was left, which she was thoroughly grateful for. With a sigh, she finally met the bright smile of Taehyun. “I brought you some proper clothes.” She propped the bundle up to give him a better view. She gestured her head towards her bedroom, “Let’s get you dressed, and I’ll take you guys shopping.”
Taehyun jumped off the couch and scurried towards her to grab the outfit she gathered from an old ad campaign her company did. She turned to the other two men with her hands casually resting on her hips. “After that, we’ll get pizza. Sound good?” It was mostly a rhetorical question, but she picked up on the confused expression shared between Soobin and Jungkook. “Wait, can you eat pizza? What can you have?”
“We’re hybrids, not pets. We can eat what you eat.” Jungkook deadpanned, he had little to no patience after dealing with Rose’s foul attitude. Lily cringed at his response, wishing she hadn’t put her foot in her mouth. She didn’t want to be like most people who considered hybrids more like animals than humans. Jungkook sensed a spike in her nerves as she began overthinking her next question. He cleared his throat, correcting the tone of his voice as he realized Lily was only trying to be accommodating to him and his brothers. “We’ve just never had pizza.”
“Oh, well we don’t have to get pizza then-” She began but was cut off by Jungkook.
“Pizza sounds good.” He gave her a tight smile before turning his attention back towards the television so that the conversation would end on that note.
Lily’s mouth hung open a small bit, adjusting to his abrasiveness as she found Soobin’s narrow stare watching her. She laughed the nerves away as she flashed him a reassuring smile despite the overwhelming feeling hanging over her. Taehyun finally emerged from the bedroom in the button-up shirt and slacks she grabbed from work. The clothes clearly didn’t suit him as they were too formal and slightly large on his frame.
“Alright, I’ll get Rose and then we can leave.” She quickly dashed down the hall, opening the door of her sister’s room with only the warning sound of a knock before disrupting her. Once in the room, she noticed Rose bundled up in her pillows with her laptop sitting on the duvet and headphones over her ears. Rose glanced up at her sister, pulling the headphones off her head with an annoyed sigh. “What now?”
Lily bit back a retort to the tone of her sister, trying to avoid a fight. “They need new clothes, so we need to go to the store.”
Rose blinked up at her older sister, “I’m not paying for them. You wanted them, you can take care of their bills.”
Lily rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. “I’m not asking you to pay, but I need your help.”
“With what?” She scrunched her nose and squinted her eyes, thoroughly agitated with the idea of going anywhere with Jungkook.
Lily bit her lip, avoiding her sister’s scrutinizing stare. “Well, I could use your help managing them in the store, picking out outfits, and…using your car.” Even though Lily muttered the last part, Rose heard it all too well as she tossed herself back on the bed with a groan.
—
Rose never wanted a car drive to be so short in her life. Despite her protests, Lily convinced her to take the SUV because putting the boys in the bed of the truck was “unsafe.” However, almost instantly Soobin discovered how the windows rolled down in the back seat. Thus began the battle between Rose and Jungkook, where he was defiantly pressing the button down and she would have to bring it back up as they drove on the interstate to their destination. Everyone was annoyed by the harsh wind reverberating through the window, but Jungkook refused to back down. It wasn’t until Rose decided to use the child safety function that the fight ceased.
It was only about a 15-minute drive, but everyone felt an uncomfortable storm brewing behind the demeanors of Jungkook and Rose, dragging time slowly as they waited for the eye of the hurricane to pass before the storm reared its head. Lily sighed in relief when they finally parked in the lot and quickly got the three hybrids into the store for some much-needed distance with her aggravated sister.
She grabbed a cart before looking at the men, “Okay, grab some shirts and pants then we’ll try them for size. You can pile what you find in the cart.” Jungkook rapidly dashed off towards the racks as Soobin and Taehyun stayed back waiting for Lily to guide them through the shopping experience. Rose went off on her own as well, casually looking through the racks simply for the soothing therapy that came from finding the variety of styles and color schemes.
Lily tried to gauge their measurements, noticing that Jungkook was going through the racks for larger sizes. She quirked her eyebrow curiously but proceeded to point out some areas for the other two to start their search. While the boys were busy looking through shirts, she took the liberty to start looking through the men’s pants, guessing at their waist size. Her head was getting whiplash as she flickered between the expanse of the material and the width of Soobin’s waist.
“What about this?” She heard from behind her. Lily twirled around to find Taehyun holding out a light-colored jacket to show her.
She smiled reassuringly, “Yeah, that’ll be good in case you get cold.”
“And this?” Soobin moved in close on the other side of her, placing a white long-sleeve shirt in her view. She turned towards him, startled by his abrupt presence practically caging her between himself, Taehyun, and the cart with her back brushing against the clothes hanging on the rack.
“Yeah, yeah. Just put it in the cart, we’ll pick out some favorites later.” She reminded him, feeling overwhelmed as his figure towered slightly over her. She breathed as he placed his item in the cart and walked back to the racks, Taehyun also moving by to add his shirt. Lily turned back to the pants, continuing her attempts at guessing the boy’s sizes.
Rose was feathering through the hangers, her blue eyes dancing over the patterns on the fabric until something caught her eye. She heard the harsh sound of metal hangers dragging across the racks aggressively and glanced up to find Jungkook, not too far off from her, creating large gaps between the clothes for better viewing. She then noticed the large bundle of items hanging over his shoulder before realizing he took everything off the hangers.
She could only wonder where they might have been at that point, questioning if Jungkook might have been creating a mess for the workers. Then she watched as he pulled a shirt off the hanger and threw it over his shoulder, confirming her suspicions that he was simply leaving empty hangers wherever he found them. She considered scolding him for his terrible shopping etiquette, but decided against it, shrugging her shoulders. “It’s not my problem. Lily can handle it.”
Lily finally gave up and called Taehyun over so that she could hold some different pant sizes against his body for a more accurate measure. She held the jeans up to his hips, making sure the denim curled a little past his front so that it wasn’t too snug on his frame. He was the smallest of the three so finding his size was fairly easy. Then she called Soobin over and felt the process was more tedious since he was so tall and lean.
As she held up a pair of pants up against his hips, he stepped forward, invading her space once again. When she moved back to get a better look, he followed. “Soobin, stop moving.” She groaned, feeling flushed under his soft stare. He only smiled as he sensed the rapid beat of her heart compared to the steady pace she usually had.
She worked fast to get his size so that she could clear her mind, annoyed with herself about how easily she was bothered by his existence. She felt like she was in high school all over again, getting nervous about the boys in her class, where she would choke and crawl into her shell if they asked to borrow a pencil. She hasn’t been in a relationship in a long while and it was beginning to look obvious.
“Okay, got it. You can go.” She pulled the jeans away from his body and threw them into the cart then turned back towards the rack to find some other styles. The nerves in her back tingled as they warned her that Soobin still stood just behind her and seemed to move closer to her.
She felt a pressure on her shoulder and turned her head to find Soobin’s chin resting on her, a cute round smile on his face with small divots in his cheek. “I’m done.” He explained simply, enjoying the sweet smell of coconut that wafted from her.
“Oh, okay.” She glanced in the other direction, unintentionally shoving her hair in his face as she observed the cart to see it nearly full. She turned back to him when he pulled away to sniffle his nose from the feathery touch of her brown hair. “Well, help me find the others and we’ll go to the fitting rooms.”
Soobin went to retrieve Taehyun while Lily looked around for signs of the independent doberman. She found him at the far end of the men’s department with a hefty pile of solid dark and white fabrics slewed over his shoulder. She pushed the cart as she approached him, “Hey, we’re going to try things on. You ready?” She asked, waiting for him to look up at her.
He shrugged, “I don’t need to try anything.”
She acknowledged the sizes he went through were much larger. “Are you sure? These are gonna be pretty big.”
He didn’t respond, simply throwing the pile of his things in the small compartment of the cart that allowed small children to sit. He moved past her and walked towards the others without another word. Lily gapped like a fish, still adjusting to his mannerisms. “What about pants?” She called out, following after him.
After convincing Jungkook to at least try on some bottoms and getting Rose’s help to judge, the women waited patiently as the three hybrids changed in the dressing room. Lily leaned on the handles of the cart while Rose leaned her hip against the front with her foot resting on the undercarriage. The younger woman was scrolling through her phone, hoping to pass the time while waiting between changes.
“Come out when you have clothes on!” Lily announced as she grew wary of the amount of time it took for them to change. Suddenly, Jungkook’s door opened to reveal him in nothing but a fitting pair of gray sweatpants with his bare chest glaring under the fluorescent lights of the thrift store. The girl's eyes went wide in surprise as he stood proudly half-naked for the other shoppers to witness his impressive physique.
Rose’s eyes traveled over the plains of his body, roaming over the peaks of his muscles before she snapped back to cover the view of his naked body with the palm of her hand. “Where the hell is your shirt?”
Lily cringed, “JK, you gotta keep your shirt on.” She moved across and gestured him back inside as Soobin and Taehyun emerged in their new outfits. The hybrids were acutely aware of the increase in the women’s heart rates as Lily tried to conceal Jungkook’s virtue. He simply smirked at the others before going back into the fitting room, thrilled by the attention he received from the two women, specifically the more difficult sister.
Soobin whined in his throat when the girls seemed distracted by Jungkook but was happy when the noise he made turned their stares in his direction. Lily stepped back for a better look at the pair and was weirdly in awe of the simple styles that seemed to suit them almost perfectly. Taehyun was wearing a thin striped shirt, jeans, and a dark jacket thrown over his shoulders, which flattered him. Soobin was in a plain t-shirt with jeans, but Lily couldn’t deny that the simple fabrics complemented his handsome features. He didn’t need anything vibrant to make him stand out.
“Tae, I love the stripes on you. It’s such a vibe.” Rose complimented wholeheartedly. The younger hybrid beamed with excitement before dashing into the fitting room to try another outfit. Rose giggled at his actions, appreciating how easygoing he was compared to Jungkook.
“Is this good?” Soobin asked, seeking the same praise Taehyun received. Rose didn’t have much of an opinion since the outfit was pretty simple.
Lily seemed to snap out of her trance and smiled reassuringly. “Yeah, you look great.” He returned the expression, his divots reappearing before he went back into the fitting room as well. Once he was gone, Rose looked at Lily expectantly and cleared her throat. When they met each other’s gaze, she spoke. “You are so obvious.” She chuckled as her sister’s eyes grew wide with accusation.
“Shut the hell up.” Lily huffed with a roll of her eyes, crossing her arms over her chest. Rose only laughed harder when her sister became defensive by her statement.
—
After the hybrids settled on a few outfits to wear regularly and some other necessities, the dysfunctional family returned home. Lily ordered a variety of pizza pies since their fridge was empty from the three garbage disposals that moved in. Rose nestled herself into the corner of the sectional, clicking through all the streaming services to pick a movie. After a monotonous search, the girls settled on showing the boys a scary movie. Rose hoped to see the reactions of Jungkook with her fingers crossed for him to be scared by the movie.
Lily sat on the opposite side of the sectional with her feet resting on the chaise while Taehyun cuddled up next to her, resting his head on her so that she could massage his scalp with her fingertips. Soobin sat in the middle of Taehyun and Rose while Jungkook hugged the far end of the couch, keeping a distance from the others. The movie began and everyone settled into their spots, letting their bodies sink into the cushions as the tension in the movie slowly grew more intense.
Soobin and Taehyun were on edge as the movie progressed while Jungkook seemed unphased. A particular scene was playing out the intense music that led off to a jump scare, the bass rumbling through the speakers and shaking the core of the audience. Taehyun clung to Lily as he watched the movie curiously, exceedingly suspicious of what awaited them just around the corner of the dim hallway the actor was creeping through.
DING DONG!
Taehyun yelped at the sound of the doorbell as Soobin and Jungkook snarled in the direction of the front door, their defenses on high alert from the lingering scent just beyond the entrance. “Oh, pizza’s here!” Lily pulled away from Taehyun, skipping towards the door to greet the delivery driver. The hybrids watched intently as she briefly thanked the driver before walking back towards the kitchen to place the thin boxes of pizza on the counter. “Come get it!”
Rose paused the movie as the men rapidly jumped from the couch with excitement. They inhaled the scent of the food, letting their mouths drool from the delicious taste as Lily handed them paper plates. She ordered various toppings since it was their first time trying pizza and she only hoped they enjoyed it as much as any other person. Jungkook stacked slice after slice on his plate, creating a small tower before dashing off to the couch to begin eating his food. Soobin and Taehyun followed Rose’s lead of taking two slices at a time with the promise of having seconds if they were still hungry for more.
Lily waited last to grab her pieces of the pie before joining the others back in the living room. Rose resumed the movie while they ate and then watched intently to see the reactions of the hybrids as they encountered the flavors of the pizza. Lily chuckled as she watched Jungkook devour the food on his plate unapologetically, assuming that he seemed to enjoy the taste even just a little. Soobin shyly bit into his food, chewing thoroughly to divulge and savor the mixture. Taehyun’s eyes were large with wonder as he enjoyed his first piece before excitedly scarfing down the rest.
The girls watched the hybrids happily enjoy their meals, imagining the rapid wag of their tails if they were in their dog form. After they finished eating, the movie ended and Rose clicked on the suggested title that showed up during the credits, indulging in another movie for their first official night together. While she wasn’t completely on board with the idea of being the caregiver of three grown hybrids, she wanted to at least make living there as painless as possible by keeping them busy.
Jungkook was mindlessly watching the movie, unbothered by the jump scares of the scenes when he began to smell a swirl of sweetness suffocating his senses. He inhaled the scent deeper, trying to pinpoint the delicious scent only to realize it was coming from just next to him. Rose’s usual floral cream smell was heightened by the hint of sugar as her body prepared itself for fertilization. His mind was hazy with lustful intent as vivid images of filling her with his seed became ingrained in his brain.
Rose was only partially paying attention to the movie as she scrolled through social media on her phone. She laughed to herself at a meme her friend shared before feeling the cushions around her sink from a shift in weight. She glanced up, startled to find Jungkook and Soobin leaning in close. “Um, excuse me. Back up.” Her eyebrows furrowed as she pushed Jungkook’s face from getting any closer.
“You smell good.” Soobin whispered from deep in his diaphragm, the sound similar to a growl as his being dripped with need from the intoxicating scent.
Lily glanced over from the small whispers that distracted her from her movie, surprised to see the two hybrids literally cornering her sister. “What are you guys doing?” Her voice was harsh, uncomfortable with the predatory look in Jungkook’s eyes as he stared her sister down.
Taehyun lifted his head from her lap, catching a whiff of the sweet smell drifting from Rose. “She’s ovulating.” He stated, trying to blow the scent from his nose to avoid getting heated from her smell.
Rose was shocked by Taehyun’s statement, the hovering presence of Soobin and Jungkook finally clicking as she realized they had ill intentions for her affections. “Oh my god! Are you kidding me?” She abruptly got up from the couch, pushing past the two offending men to break free from their intensity. She glared at her sister, “I can’t believe you brought home these horny mongrels. I’m going to my room, where I’m safe.”
Rose made a statement by slamming her bedroom door before catapulting herself on the bed and burying herself under the duvet to hide from her new reality. In her makeshift tent, she pulled out her phone as the bright light illuminating the screen projected over the fabric of her sheets and tapped on Taehyung’s contact. She needed to vent and she clearly couldn’t do that with her sister, the root of her problems, so she reached out to her dear friend from class.
“Hello?” His deep voice instantly soothed her as she pressed her ear to her phone.
She smiled as her heart leaped in her chest, “Hey. Are you busy?”
“Uh, no. Why? What’s up?” On the other end of the phone call, he tucked the device between his shoulder and ear while he stirred his ramen noodles.
She sighed dramatically, “I’m just overwhelmed and I could use a friend.”
He smiled, biting his lip as she referred to him as a friend. He loved that in her time of need, she thought to reach out to him. “What’s bothering you?” He quietly stole a sip of his broth, waiting for her response.
She clicked her tongue with annoyance, “My sister insisted on bringing home three dogs…and they’re not like little puppies. They’re large, full-grown dogs.” She strategically emphasized her words to convey the weight of the situation.
“Wow, three. That is a lot…Where did she find them?” He asked, curious about the abrupt presence of three dogs in his classmate's life.
Rose felt a small pang of guilt as she remembered their story about their previous home. “She found them abandoned on the road.”
Taehyung felt a sadness in the pit of his stomach as he was a lover of animals. “Oh, that’s terrible. It’s nice that she took them in, but if it’s too much she should take them to the shelter.”
Rose knew they couldn’t. “Yeah, but she’s already attached.” She pressed the pads of her fingers to her temple, “Honestly, there’s only one that’s a problem, but I know she won’t get rid of him.” “Oh?”
“Yeah, he’s a doberman. He doesn’t listen to me, like at all.” She huffed, causing a small laugh to escape Taehyung’s lips from the speaker of the phone. “It’s not funny. He’s such a brat.”
Despite the annoyance in her voice, Taehyung imagined a cute pout on her lips as she spoke and he couldn’t take her seriously. “Sorry, I don’t mean to laugh. You just sound cute when you’re mad.” She rolled her eyes in response and sarcastically laughed. He settled his laughter and spoke up again, “Well, if you ever need to escape the beasty, we can always go out together.”
He froze as he realized how that might have sounded and panicked as he waited for her interruption. Rose bit her lip, her cheeks feeling flush with the idea of going on a date with the ever-handsome Taehyung. “Go out?” She probed, hoping he might ask her on a proper date.
He stumbled and cleared his throat, “Yeah, you know, hang out.” He quickly clarified, avoiding the possible rejection.
Her shoulders dropped and she was glad that she wasn’t talking to him in person to see her disappointment. She swallowed her emotions, “Oh yeah. That would be great.” She hummed a little unsure of what else to say and settled on calling it a night. “Thanks for letting me vent, but I should head to bed. Talk to you later.” Taehyung shared the same sentiments before they wished each other a good night. Rose sighed as she pressed the ‘end call’ button and let her phone drop from her hand. She smothered her face into the plush of her mattress cover, “Fuck my life.”

The next morning brought a sense of familiarity as Lily adjusted to the presence of the three hybrids, growing accustomed to either having dogs running about or humans scattered around the house. She sat quietly in the front office of the house, the drapes hanging open to let the light of the early morning shine through the large glass windows. Her fingers taped against the keys of her MacBook, searching her mind as she attempted to piece together another presentation for Monday morning.
She leaned back in her chair, her eyes shifting over the screen as she reached for her mug, bringing the ceramic to her lips as she fueled herself on caffeine. Her gaze shifted down to the papers sprawled out over the top of the desk, tapping her finger against her mug as she analyzed the data in her charts.
The door of the front room was suddenly pushed open as Lily glanced over her computer to see a fluffy white and gray mass move in from the hallway. Soobin made his way around her desk, squeezing into the space underneath, resting by her feet as his chin propped itself against his paws. Lily couldn’t suppress the smile that invaded her features, grateful that the boys were making themselves at home, feeling more and more comfortable as days went by.
“Comfy?” She beamed as she watched Soobin’s eyes shift up to find hers, still perfectly settled beneath her feet. The soft hum of her phone vibrating against the desktop caused her to set down her mug. Soobin watched as Lily answered the device, quickly overhearing a conversation about statistics and demographic interests. He pouted, upset that her attention was no longer on him and now consumed by the voice echoing through her cell phone.
He quickly stood from his position, resting his head against her lap as a whine festered at the seam of his muzzle. Lily instinctually held up a finger, gesturing for him to wait a minute which only elicited a louder vocal whine from Soobin.
Lily quickly pushed off her feet, rolling her chair back as she stood to walk out of the front office to continue her phone call in peace. If he was in his human form, he would’ve let out a huff of disappointment as he turned to face the entrance of the office, awaiting her return. He turned back towards her desk, propping himself up on his hind legs as he rested against the desktop, his front paws scattered against the papers displayed. His eyes scanned the surface until he settled on a round stress ball on the edge of the desktop.
His jaw dropped open, his tongue hanging between his teeth as he panted in delight, his tail wagging chaotically behind him. He couldn’t submerge his instincts to play with the ball, desperately seeking some entertainment after sleeping all night. He pushed off his back paws, snapping his mouth shut around the stress ball until he tugged himself down from his propped-up position. His movement caused his paws to drag against the top, Lily’s papers scattering across the room as they flew off the tabletop.
Soobin quickly began shaking his head, acting as if he was trying to tear into the stress ball as his teeth gnawed at the material. What he hadn’t noticed was that in the process of finding something to play with, his paws were pressing against the papers that had flown onto the floor, his claws tearing a few while a couple crumpled beneath his paw pads.
“What are you doing?” Taehyun's voice echoed from the doorway as he curiously asked Soobin, the husky paused his movement with the front of his body pressed down against the floor while his rear was up in the air, his tail wagging happily behind him.
Soobin released the ball from his teeth, pushing it gently with the tip of his nose as he watched it roll towards Taehyun who picked it up with the largest grin on his features. The boys hadn’t been able to play or exert their energy much since they’d gone on the run, focusing more on hiding from their owners than enjoying themselves. Now that they felt safe and knew Lily managed to convince Rose to let them stay, they found themselves wanting to indulge in their instincts.
“What happened?” Lily’s concerned voice emerged from behind Taehyun, his hands moving quickly to hide the stress ball behind his back as Lily entered to assess the damage. Her eyes settled on the sight of Soobin standing atop of her papers, observing how unforgiving his paws had been to the thin sheets of paper. “Soobin? Taehyun? What happened?”
Taehyun tossed the stress ball towards Soobin, holding up his hands innocently as he gestured towards the husky. “Don’t look at me. This was all him.” Taehyun wasted no time throwing Soobin under the bus, not ready to take the blame and disappoint the women he was growing fond of, so desperately wanting their approval.
Lily propped her hands on her hips, standing with her legs apart as she glared intently down at Soobin whose tail quickly made a home between his back legs. He let out a regretful whine, his large puppy eyes diving into Lily’s subconscious as she let the tension escape from her limbs. Why did he have to look so cute with his sweet puppy dog stare?
“Oh, it’s fine. I’ll just reprint them.” She sighed, moving to pick up the mess only to receive a gentle nudge from Soobin’s snoot. She chuckled softly, allowing her hand to mess up the fur atop his head as she gently scratched behind his ear. “You’re lucky you’re cute.” She grinned, pushing him away gently as she ushered him out of the room. “Now go, let me work.”
—
While Lily spent her early morning diving straight into her work, Rose nestled herself by the oven in the kitchen, fixing up a typical egg and pancake breakfast for the group. She enjoyed cooking and baking, however, found herself quite displeased with the number of pancakes she needed to slave over to properly feed five humans. Her air pods were tucked in her ears as she swayed her hips to the sounds of her favorite songs, grinning as she managed to perfectly flip a pancake within the frying pan.
She rotated her body, sliding the cooked batter onto the decent stack she managed to form, frowning once looking back at the bowl of batter, realizing that she still had a while to go before she’d be finished. She ladled another scoop of batter into her pan as she rotated her wrist to evenly distribute the substance across the pan. As she placed it back on the fire to cook, she turned her attention to the carton of eggs sitting adjacent to the fridge.
Rose reached down to retrieve a bowl from the bottom cabinet as she skillfully cracked open most of the carton of eggs. She wasn’t sure how much food hybrids needed or if they had larger appetites than humans. She figured it would be best to have extras than not to have enough.
She danced across the kitchen to fetch a fork from the utensil drawer, stopping to flip her pancake before beginning to whisk the eggs. Her music distracted her, failing to notice that Jungkook was now awake and followed the delightful aroma of fried dough as he ventured into the kitchen. His eyes stalked the brunette, watching as she hummed and danced about to entertain herself while attempting to whip up a decent breakfast.
As she focused on the yolky substance in her bowl, Jungkook moved behind her to hover over the plate of pancakes, practically drooling at the scent that invaded his nostrils. At their previous home, they were never given the luxury to eat much human food, only having known the basics such as bread, meat, and vegetables. Suddenly he was presented with a buttery, fried treat and he had every intention of indulging.
His large fingers grabbed ahold of the top pancake, instantly biting into the corner of it as a groan of satisfaction left his lips. He practically engulfed the remainder of it, quickly moving to steal another. Rose was moving to stack yet another from the pan, meeting the sight of Jungkook’s hand snatching up another.
“Jungkook! Go away!” She scowled as she prepped another in the pan. “There’s barely enough for everyone.” Her eyebrows pinched together as she swatted his hand away, only to receive another growl from the unruly doberman. “Get lost! And stop growling at me!” She protested, irritated that he wasn’t leaving. Instead, he merely shifted to the bowl of scrambled eggs that she was making, sticking his face inches from the bowl as he took in a deep sniff.
“These don’t smell as good.” He complained only to watch Rose scramble back across the kitchen to resume working on the eggs.
“Because they’re raw. I need to cook them.” She couldn’t mask the annoyance in her voice, watching as Jungkook made his way back towards the stack of pancakes to steal yet another. “I thought I told you no.” Rose quickly moved herself in between Jungkook and the plate, practically spinning around the kitchen as she tried to keep up with his rapid movements. She held her ground only to meet his challenging stare.
Rose’s confidence faltered as Jungkook’s darkened eyes entrapped her, his demeanor shifting into a more dominant stance as he took slow intentional steps toward her. Rose felt her heart pounding in her eardrums, overwhelmed by the fresh scent of eucalyptus and birch that seeped off of Jungkook’s freshly washed body. She could feel his warmth radiating off of his skin, blinking as he pressed his face forward to hover inches away from her own, clearly invading any sense of personal space.
She sucked in a breath, completely frozen in shock as the corner of Jungkook’s lips pulled into an amused smirk. “You don’t tell me what to do.” His voice was threatening, throwing her off completely as he stretched an arm past her to steal yet another pancake from the stack. Rose desperately attempted to hide her anger, allowing her frustration to bubble at the pit of her stomach as she watched Jungkook tear a bite into it the treat inches from her face, wishing she could smack the smug look off of his features.
“That’s it!” Rose twisted her hips as her hands snatched the plate of pancakes from the counter to remove it from Jungkook’s reach. “You’re such a pain in my ass!” She huffed in aggregation, pushing past him only for his large hands to effortlessly steal away the plate from her grasp before she could get too far. “Jungkook! Give…it…back.” It wasn’t a request; it was a command, and she was livid.
Jungkook tutted happily as he consumed more of the pancakes only for Lily to walk out of her office to join them in hopes she could help finish up any remaining cooking. Unfortunately, she stepped out to witness the pair staring each other down, Rose’s pale features flushed in anger as she gestured toward Jungkook. “This jackass won’t listen and he’s eating everything!” She shot a nasty glare in his direction which was reciprocated with a shrug of his shoulders as he stuffed his cheeks full. “This one’s going back! He doesn’t listen!”
Lily glared in his direction trying to figure out why he was so intent on making things challenging. She knew this must be a wild change for the boys and had been trying her best to be accommodating and to make them feel welcome. Taehyun and Soobin seemed to have adapted quickly, however Jungkook was definitely the independent type. “JK, just please put them down and wait like the rest of us.” She spoke sternly yet her eyes seemed to communicate a silent plea for him to obey.
Jungkook never enjoyed being told what to do, especially since their previous owner took advantage of them. He hated not having a choice in the matter and when Lily spoke her words, he quickly realized that she’d framed them as a request versus a command. His intense stare softened as he processed the fact that Lily really was trying her best to provide for them and he figured if anything, he’d be able to show mutual respect. He rolled his eyes as he held out the plate, Lily stepping forward to take it as her eyes shined with appreciation.
“See? Just a misunderstanding.” She grinned hesitantly only to watch Rose grow in rage.
“Are you serious?” Rose knew very well that Jungkook had no intention of listening to a word she said, however watching him submit to Lily so effortlessly only bruised her pride. She was now irritated to know that she was the only one he was intentionally ignoring. “You know what, you finish.” She subsided her anger as she passed off the spatula to Lily, turning around to grab her school bag from the kitchen table. She had class in an hour and wasn’t about to slave away just to be irritated any more than she already was. She knew she’d need to grab breakfast, but she figured stopping anywhere to pick some up would be better than putting up with Jungkook. “I’m going to Starbucks.”
As Rose sulked into the garage, Lily turned to face Jungkook who decided to snoop around the kitchen once again. “You know, she’s just stressed. She’s got a lot on her plate.” Lily attempted to defend her little sister, knowing any medical field was stressful enough without adding a part-time job on top of it. She glanced down at the plate of pancakes, noticing how only a few remained before turning her attention to the stove. “Apparently not a lot on this plate.”
Jungkook glanced back at Lily sheepishly, fully knowing he was the culprit for the lack of breakfast as he opened the fridge in search of something else to chew on. He could sense the constant anxiety and stress radiating from Rose’s natural scent, knowing he should be more docile. For some reason, being around the younger sister only brought out his aggressive side, wanting nothing more than to put her in her place despite her being one of the humans.

Rose dreaded the arrival back home, expecting another massacre in their living room or Jungkook's insistent aggressive attitude. She groaned when she noticed her sister’s truck was gone, anticipating she would need to deal with the hybrids on her own. Then she stepped inside the house and was met with utter silence. The atmosphere, while calm, was eerie and heavy. The peace and quiet unnerved her as she wondered where they might possibly be.
“Well, that can’t be a good sign.” She muttered, moving deeper into the house to see it was still fairly intact compared to the first day she came home to the new additions. She went into the kitchen to grab a snack, determining how long she should wait before getting herself dinner in the event they didn’t return. She grabbed a banana before going into the living room to plop on the couch and watch something she would enjoy without anyone else’s consideration.
About halfway into her favorite sitcom, she heard the front door unlock from the outside as her sister twisted the key in the handle. Curiosity sparked in her as she glanced over, hoping to see her sister miraculously standing alone or, at the very least, without Jungkook following behind. To her dismay and surprise, Jungkook walked in proudly with a large grin on his face. Lily, Soobin, and Taehyun came in after him and were equally as joyous.
That’s when she noticed the modifications gleaming from their heads as Soobin and Taehyun had small silver studs decorating their earlobes. Then the glare of Jungkook’s eyebrow piercing momentarily flashed in her eyes, taking in the rest of his appearance to find metal sprinkled along the shell of both his ears.
Rose blinked as she stared at the four individuals blankly, letting her brain rationalize why they all suddenly had new piercings or felt the need to get them. Nothing logical came to mind. “Did you take them to get piercings?” Maybe it was a trick of the light, and her sister didn’t do something absolutely ridiculous as her mind believed.
“Yeah, I did my helix too!” Lily turned her head and brushed her hair behind her ear to show the stud sitting high on her cartilage. As she showed off the new jewelry to her sister, she didn’t notice the small twitch in her eye as her patience seemed to snap in half.
“What were you thinking? Piercings, really?” Rose stood from the couch; her stance wide as she placed her hands on her hips. Soobin and Taehyun lowered their heads in shame as if they were the ones in trouble.
Lily blinked, registering the irritation in her voice. “We were watching music videos and they thought the guys looked cool. It’s not a big deal.”
Rose briefly glared at Jungkook, whose smile dissipated with the animosity coming from the younger female. “He has more than anyone combined! He doesn’t need that many!”
Lily furrowed her brow, standing just as defensively as her sister. “He likes them, so what!”
“They’re dogs, Lily. They don’t need piercings!” Rose was frustrated and Lily’s refusal to admit her fault was becoming more than she could bear. “How expensive was all that? I can’t imagine that was cheap.”
Jungkook growled deep in his throat as Rose belittled him and his brothers, stepping forward to bark back, but Lily moved faster. “They’re not just dogs, they’re hybrids. People like you and me.” Rose faltered from Lily’s statement, realizing in the heat of the moment how her words sounded. “It wasn’t cheap, but I don’t care. They don’t have a lot, so I took them to get piercings.” Lily dropped her arms to her side, letting them hang as she began heading towards her bedroom.
Rose bit the inside of her cheek as she glanced over towards the boys, who watched the argument transpire before them. She sighed, guilt eating away as she noticed the crestfallen expressions on Soobin and Taehyun, but felt the words get stuck in her throat as Jungkook pushed past her to plop on the couch. He pointedly grabbed the remote and turned her show off with a tense scowl.
Despite how well the new modifications looked on his appearance, it still annoyed her that her sister allowed him to indulge in so many. If he could so easily get those piercings, what would he do next? Get a tattoo? She scrunched her nose, meeting the stares of Soobin and Taehyun. “I’m sorry. I’m not mad.” She smiled reassuringly, “They look good. I was just surprised.” She heard a sarcastic huff from Jungkook but ignored him as she softened up for the other two men.
Soobin and Taehyun perked up from the praise, looking up at Rose with smiles as they moved further into the living room to nestle on the couch along with their brother. Rose felt the weight lift off her shoulders as the more reasonable hybrids accepted her apology. She glanced at Jungkook, who blatantly ignored her presence, and then looked towards her sister’s bedroom door which was firmly shut to keep out the world.
“I guess I’m making dinner.” She muttered to herself, moving into the kitchen to scavenge for ingredients to throw together for a dysfunctional family of five.
—
Steam pebbled atop the glass of Lily’s walk-in shower, the brunette standing happily below the stream of running water as she cherished the warmth that crept over her skin. She could feel the tension of the day melting from her muscles as she massaged the loofa over her limbs, her mind avoiding the latest annoyed reactions of her sister. Most of the hybrids’ transitions into their household had settled, Rose enjoying the company of Soobin and Taehyun more so now that she’d adapted to the idea of having half-human half-dog beings in their home. Jungkook still managed to get under her sister's skin, however, creating a complicated task for Lily to keep the peace.
Her mind wandered to Rose’s reaction upon bringing the boys home with piercings adorning their bodies. Lily often watched K-pop videos which seemed to spark the idea of getting their own in Jungkook and Soobin. Taehyun followed happily, getting his own piercing to feel connected to his brothers which had only elicited more negative reactions from Rose.
Lily let her thoughts trail away as she focused on lathering her body wash, allowing the scent of coconut and bergamot to encase her in a soothing cocoon as she enjoyed the moment of peace away from the boys. She loved their presence and had become comforted by the fact that she was able to provide them with a place in which they could feel comfortable enough to be themselves. However, she did enjoy the moments of tranquility away from the constant chaos of the three hybrids.
She closed her eyes as she melted into the comfort of her shower, the gentle hum of her music echoing through the bathroom from her phone that sat perched on the vanity. She began swaying her hips to a Michael Bublé song, allowing her hands to scrub at her scalp as she began to sing. “Like a flower bending in the breeze, Bend with me, sway with ease. When we dance you have a way with me, Stay with me, sway with me.”
Her moment of enjoyment was interrupted by the click of the bathroom door, her eyes snapping open to find the movement of the door opening back towards her as Soobin made his way into the secluded space. Lily instantly felt the sting of her shampoo invade her irises as she desperately latched an arm over her chest to conceal herself through the glass walls of the shower as she stuck her face beneath the shower to clear her eyes.
“Oh my god, Soobin! You need to knock!” Her voice was in pure panic, causing the husky in human form to freeze in his tracks. He needed to grab his toothbrush and hadn’t thought much about the door being a barrier, preferring them open over closed in the first place. All of a sudden, Lily was informing him about the need to knock before he entered a room which left a puzzled expression plastered on his face. He quickly retreated, closing the door behind him.
Just as the door shut, Lily’s body relaxed only for a moment until a knock resonated from the opposite side of the door. Before she could speak a word, Soobin twisted the handle and made his way back inside to retrieve his toothbrush. “Soobin!” Lily was flabbergasted, her arms sprawled across her body as she used her loofa to conceal her most intimate regions.
Soobin glanced up at her through the mirror, meeting her frazzled expression as he turned to face her with wide eyes. “What?” He questioned, glancing around the bathroom as if something was wrong.
“I told you to knock before you come into the bathroom.” She whined, concealing herself behind the steamed-up parts of the shower door.
He tilted his head slightly, his mouth pouting as he mulled over her words. “I did knock.” He had a confused expression on his face, his toothbrush gripped between his fingers as he met her stare.
Lily felt her heart rate elevate, her body running hot under Soobin’s stare, especially given that she was completely naked and the only thing standing in his way of witnessing her was a fogged-up piece of glass. “You need to wait for permission before just walking in.” She added, her voice cracking as she averted her eyes to find the tile of the bathroom floor.
Soobin could sense her discomfort, suddenly noticing that she was hiding her body beneath her limbs, contorting herself to shield as much as possible from his prying eyes. “Ah, I’m sorry.” His voice was soft as he quickly caught onto the situation, moving to exit the bathroom with haste as he left Lily to finish her shower in peace.
Lily hadn’t realized that she was holding her breath until the bathroom door shut, allowing her to breathe out and release her arms from around her chest. She felt as if she was overheating, completely flushed at the thought of Soobin seeing her in the nude. Her hand quickly turned the nozzle to a cooler setting, allowing a cold shower to calm the sudden rush of emotions she was experiencing due to the hybrid. He was undeniably handsome, the way his lips pulled into a natural pout was endearing. He was tall and muscular, his dark hair shaggy enough to rest just above his animalistic stare that seemed to spark a wave of heat within Lily’s body.
She shook herself of her thoughts, finishing up her shower before proceeding to blow dry her hair and get dressed in her favorite baggy t-shirt alongside a pair of pajama shorts. She took a second to compose herself before escaping the confinements of the bathroom, pushing open the door to see Soobin lying across her bed. Her breath hitched as she watched his toned muscles peek through his sleeveless shirt, slowly peeling back the covers of her bed as she settled for the night.
She was surprised to see Soobin move quickly to lay beside her, his apologetic eyes finding hers. “Sorry about the shower…” Before he could continue, Lily swatted the air with her hand, offering him a warm smile.
“You didn’t know. It’s okay.” Living with hybrids was proving to be an interesting journey, however, there was something endearing about watching them learn to fit in amongst humans. Her eyes filled with sadness at the thought of their owners shielding them from normal human experiences, treating them coldly as if they were nothing but sheltered animals.
Soobin sensed her sadness, his eyes studying her as he leaned on his elbow, allowing his head to fall to the side. “You’re sad?” He asked curiously, hoping he wasn’t the cause of her solemn demeanor.
Lily chewed on the flesh inside her cheek, a habit she had formed as a kid, and watched Soobin as she imagined his life before sneaking into her truck. “Your owners…they aren’t very nice, are they?” She asked, already knowing the answer, but wanting the confirmation from his lips.
His expression hardened, recalling how poorly he and his brothers were treated back at the shelter. “No, they aren’t.” He could remember the lengths his previous owners would go through to make sure they never got too attached to being in their human form.
Soobin’s lips pulled into a smile as he looked at Lily, resting his head so that it was leaning against her shoulder. “You and Rose are nice.” He grinned as Lily’s heart swelled at his confession. She was elated that they thought so, thankful to know they seemed more comfortable since they arrived.
“I’m glad.” Her voice was soft as she passed her hand through Soobin’s hair, gently scratching his scalp as his eyes closed in contempt. Lily could’ve stayed that way forever, smiling at Soobin’s gentle exhales as his breath danced against her collarbone. Unfortunately for them, a speedy little border collie jumped up into the bed, panting joyfully as he pounced onto Lily, ready for his own round of cuddles and scratches.
Soobin glared at his brother’s dog form, rolling his eyes in irritation as his moment alone with Lily was interrupted. Thankfully, Taehyun rested his head against her lap, allowing Lily to give them both attention as they prepared themselves for a good night's rest.

After struggling to make a decent meal with the scarce amount of food in their house, the girls decided they needed to make another grocery trip. The family of five shuffled into the store and the hybrids inhaled the mixture of scents wafting from the different departments, which pulled Soobin and Jungkook to follow the delicious aromas. Lily reached out to grab Taehyun’s hand, keeping him next to her. “Stay with me.” She demanded gently as she brushed his hair affectionately with her hand when he fell into step with her, obediently listening to her command.
“Where are you going?” Rose groaned as she followed the direction of Soobin, who ran over to the bakery section. Lily stuck to their routine as she checked off items from the list while Rose caught sight of Soobin pressing his nose against a package of fresh donuts. He licked his lips from the scent of sugar that overwhelmed his nostrils, his mouth salivating for a taste.
“Soobin!” He whipped his head, frowning as Rose approached him with mild aggravation etched over her features. She exhaled a deep breath as she looked at him sternly, “You can’t just run off like that.” She held her hand out, palm up, and used a ‘come here’ gesture so that he would place the box in her hand.
He gave them to her, watching as she tucked the package against her hip. “Sorry.” He whispered as he looked at her with his large sad eyes and full pouty lips.
She softened, realizing that he was only drawn to the smells, and they never encountered a grocery store. “It’s okay. Just go find Lily and stay with her. I have to find JK.”
His expression brightened as he sniffed the air to catch the familiar scent of coconut and bergamot. Rose chuckled as he dashed to follow the trail of her sister’s essence, still adjusting to the mannerisms of the three hybrids. Once she was gone, her shoulders slumped in defeat as she mustered up the motivation to find Jungkook. She only hoped he was acting as civilized as Soobin but cringed when she imagined that he most likely wasn’t.
Meanwhile, Jungkook was in the meat department, poking at the packages as he examined the raw steak. He picked up a package of beef, scowling in distaste of the thin plastic wrapped around the delicious substance. He negligently dropped it from his hands, ignoring the mess as it missed the lip of the cooler and hit the floor. He continued until he approached the glass case that displayed a variety of fresh cuts.
He pressed his hands and face to the glass, observing the delicious morsels laid before him. His breath fogged the glass as the butcher came up from the other side of the clear case. “Can I help you?”
Jungkook lifted his head, evaluating the situation on how to answer the man. His eyes flickered back to the meat, inhaling the scent once more. “I want that one.” He pressed his finger against the glass in the direction of a tenderloin sliced for steaks.
The butcher complied with the request, reaching into the case with his gloved hand and bringing it up over the counter to show to Jungkook. “Is this the cut you want?”
Jungkook didn’t respond, but instead, snatched the meat from his palm before shoving the piece of flesh into his mouth. The butcher was startled, “Hey! You have to pay for that!” The man gulped as Jungkook brought his eyes up to meet his gaze and felt uneasy by the snarl of his lips wrapped over the raw steak. Jungkook ripped his teeth from the beef, chewing insistently before turning to walk away. “Hey!” He heard behind him as the butcher hollered after him, but he ignored it and turned the corner as he moved into the dairy section of the store.
“JK!” He looked up from his morsel to find Rose barreling towards him with a vivid sense of annoyance pouring from her tense muscles. She noticed the raw meat locked within his jaw and recoiled as a small trail of blood rolled down his chin. “That’s disgusting. Where’d you even get that?” He quickly shoved the rest into his mouth when she went to grab it from him, his cheeks full as he struggled to chew the amount of beef in his mouth. “Ew, really?”
He gulped down the food, moving around the irritable brunette to push through the swinging stockroom doors to get away from her annoying shrill. She yelled out to him again, following him into the backroom and when he didn’t stop, she reached out to grab him any way that she could. Within her grasp, she could extend to grip the neckband of his shirt with desperation.
The tug around his neck triggered a traumatic memory of the harsh treatment he and his brothers endured back at the shelter from all the times the staff would drag them around by the collars clasped around their necks. Sometimes the force would be so tremendous that red marks would wrap around their throats. Jungkook bristled as the material of his shirt dug across the front of his neck and whipped around to growl at Rose.
He quickly snatched her hand with his own, squeezing her wrist as he pressed her backward until she was trapped between himself and a tower of boxes. Rose didn’t realize the mistake she made, but she was too caught up in controlling his infuriating behavior to correct herself. They glared into each other’s eyes, Jungkook flashing her his sharp canines in dominance. “Don’t touch me.” The words rumbled from his throat like distant thunder, but Rose didn’t heed the warnings as the storm rolled in.
“Then listen.” She hissed back, her features just as intense as she tried to pull her hand out from his tight grip.
Jungkook was hunched uncomfortably as he caged her underneath his body, hovering centimeters from her face. The hairs on the back of his neck were bristled with attention as his body tensed up for a fight. “I don’t listen to humans.” In his blind rage, he knew that wasn’t completely true, but he wasn’t about to let this woman who thought so little of him have the upper hand. His body struggled to decide whether he wanted to attack her or mount her so that she understood he would never submit.
“Rose! JK!” The sound of Lily’s voice just beyond the stockroom doors gave Rose the opportunity to rip her hand from Jungkook’s and push him.
Jungkook stumbled back only slightly, and Rose advanced towards him with a sharp glare that stabbed through his dark irises. “If you won’t listen then get out of my house.” She was livid and tired of his attitude. She didn’t want to fight with him every day just for him to act halfway decent. She noticed a look flash across his face before his rigid glare returned, thrown off by seeing him with anything but a scowl on his lips.
Jungkook’s chest rose rapidly as he battled with himself from escalating the situation. He knew he should have been grateful for the home he was provided by Lily and Rose, but he struggled with the power dynamics as he was tired of the way his kind was treated. He heard Lily call out for them again and huffed as he turned to leave the stockroom, running away from the issue with Rose until he had a better handle on his emotions.
Rose blinked when he walked away from her, following after him and pausing in surprise to see him standing calmly next to Lily. His scowl was exceedingly more relaxed as their eyes met and she was pissed. “Soobin, Taehyun, do you want to get a special treat?” She asked, letting her face melt into a smile as she looked towards the other two hybrids. Their heads perked up at the mention of a treat and brushed past Lily to surround Rose. “You deal with that one.” She waved her hand at Jungkook as she addressed her sister, striding away with the behaved hybrids.
Lily recognized the spiteful attitude of her sister and glanced at Jungkook from the corner of her eye. “What did you do?”
—
Later that evening, silence seemed to plague the group since their return from the grocery store. Their practically empty fridge had been restocked to the brim with snacks and items for the next weeks' worth of meals, their trip to the grocery store proving to have been somewhat successful.
Dinner passed by slowly, the five sitting at the table while surrounded by the uncomfortable silence caused by the building tension between Jungkook and Rose. Despite Lily’s attempts to converse with the boys and her sister, the scolding glares exchanged across the table only added to the unease surrounding the group. Luckily Taehyun and Soobin lightened the mood, cracking Rose’s facade as she couldn’t help but smile at the endearing younger hybrids.
That evening the group settled in the living room to watch another movie, Rose and Jungkook purposefully sitting on opposite ends of their large sectional to avoid each other. Soobin took full advantage to sit close to Lily, as he watched Jungkook comfortably spread out against the corner piece of the sofa. Jungkook and Rose eventually began interacting with the group, making sure to avoid each other as much as possible as the five exchanged laughs and conversations relating to the comedy film filling their TV screen.
As the night progressed, Rose excused herself to go shower away the frustrations of the day as she allowed the water to cascade down her skin. The warmth was soothing, aiding in relaxing her tensed muscles as her mind became plagued with the thought of Jungkook pressing her up against the boxes in the storage room. Her thoughts danced around the predatory vision of Jungkook’s stare, recalling how his eyes seemed to have her pinned in place more than the physicality of his arms.
She felt her body run hot, unsure if it was caused by the frustration of his invasion or the mere fact that he was a handsome man, and despite how much she convinced herself that she hated him, part of her enjoyed the close contact.
Rose groaned as she hopelessly abandoned her thoughts, recalling that Jungkook had slept her in bed every night since his arrival while Lily’s bed had already been claimed by the others. Maybe the close contact would help alleviate some of the tension from before. Rose wishfully hoped he’d apologize for acting so rash and aggressive.
As she made her way towards her room, she couldn’t help but recall his words. She scrunched her eyebrows together, flabbergasted by how intent he’d seemed. What did he mean he doesn’t listen to humans? He’d been listening to Lily since he arrived, so why couldn't he listen to her just the same?
“Taehyun, just go. I’m not sleeping in there.” Jungkook’s voice echoed in the hallway, his harsh tone claiming dominance over the younger hybrid as he stubbornly commanded him to switch sleeping arrangements with him. Taehyun enjoyed Rose, not understanding why Jungkook was so opposed to wanting to please her the way he did. Taehyun considered both girls his owners and respected them the same. While Rose had been a little more apprehensive about taking in hybrids, Soobin and Taehyun managed to warm her up to the idea and enjoyed her company.
“Fine, but good luck with Soobin. He takes up most of the bed.” Taehyun shifted off of Lily’s bed as he caught a glimpse of Rose peeking in through the doorway.
Her face seemed stunned, placing her hands on her hips as her eyes shot past Taehyun to find Jungkook’s. She was perplexed by the exchange she overheard. They’ve argued constantly since his arrival yet now of all times he was complaining about having to sleep in the same bed as her? “Seriously? You’re gonna make Tae move just because you’re being an ass?” Jungkook simply ignored her as he sprawled himself out onto Lily’s empty bed.
Rose’s eyes shifted over towards Taehyun who seemed nervous, his expression filled with worry as she softened her eyes. “Hey, I’m excited! You’ve been so awesome since you got here, Tae. You deserve more bed space anyways!” She beamed glancing sideways to see if she’d extract a reaction from Jungkook. Taehyun's demeanor brightened as he entertained a large space to spread out, knowing Rose’s bed was known for its feather duvet and plush mattress topper. “Plus, you can get all of the scratches and cuddles you’d like!”
Rose watched as Taehyun’s eyes widened at her words, feeling as if he’d won the lottery in the situation. “Really?” He beamed, practically sprinting to her room once watching her smile confirm her statement. Jungkook glared up at her, feeling the jealousy bubble in his chest as he imagined Taehyun cuddled up to her in bed receiving all of the head scratches he had never been offered.
“You don’t like anything touching you when you sleep.” Jungkook protested, snarling back at her as he watched her arms move to cross against her chest.
“False. I don’t like YOU touching me when I sleep.” She corrected before spinning on her heel to join Taehyun. “I adore Taehyun.” She added an additional sting before she left the room.
She wasn’t lying, she did adore Taehyun and Soobin. Despite how long it had taken her to get used to them joining their small family of two, she grew to love their presence and missed their energy whenever they weren’t around. She’d also grown accustomed to Jungkook’s warmth and bulky doberman form as he slept on the opposite side of her bed, knowing a part of her would miss him during the night, despite how annoying she found him.
As the house settled for the evening, Soobin escaped the shower of Lily’s bedroom to find her cuddled on the right side of her bed while a doberman rested in Soobin’s usual spot beside Lily. He shifted into his husky form, growling slightly as an overwhelming feeling of possessiveness took over him. He hated seeing Jungkook so close to Lily, especially since he never typically slept in her bed. Taehyun was harmless, always having taken the spot at her feet to leave Soobin with the closest to the older brunette.
He pounced up atop Lily, wedging himself directly between Jungkook and Lily’s bodies. As he attempted to make himself comfortable, he heard a groan escape Lily’s lips and a slight growl of annoyance radiate from Jungkook. Soobin was quick to vocalize back, making it very clear to Jungkook that Lily was his and he would be the one closest to her.

The glow of the afternoon sun seeped through the thin layer of clouds as the group enjoyed an evening at the park conveniently nestled at the edge of their quiet neighborhood. The girls lived in a secluded part of town, not many crowds around to interrupt peaceful evenings such as these. They brought their newly acquired hybrids out to the park, allowing them to enjoy some time in their dog forms, relishing the ability to run around and do whatever they pleased.
The park was vacant, not a single person aside from them enjoyed the lush grounds filled with large oak trees and a large pond with a wooden dock. A butterfly garden inhibited the far end of the large field adjacent to a child’s playground. Soobin was happily exploring the new setting, sniffing every corner and plant he passed, occasionally glancing back to find Lily as he continued his explorations.
Taehyun was already fully enjoying the large stretches of grass, allowing his paws to pounce off the soft surface, sprinting in circles as he exerted his pent-up energy. Lily stood watching; a smile stretched from ear to ear as she admired the youngest enjoying his newly acquired freedoms. She couldn’t help but chuckle as she watched his tongue hang out from his opened jaw, the long muscle draping over his large canines as he panted in excitement.
Lily’s eyes shifted down as she felt a wet sensation brush her calves, finding Soobin’s nose nudging at her as a soft whine escaped the barrier of his teeth. “What?” She questioned, allowing her head to tilt to the side as she watched Soobin begin to walk in the opposite direction. He took a few steps towards the butterfly garden, turning around to see if Lily was following. Once noticing that she was still standing quietly in the same spot, he let out another huff, the vibrations dancing through his body as he opened his jaw up and down to elaborately vocalize to the brunette.
Lily laughed as she listened to Soobin speak to her, forgetting how vocal huskies tended to be. She shook her head as she followed behind him, Soobin’s tail swiping excitedly behind him as he continued towards the butterfly garden.
Soobin approached a metal framed bench with armrests in the shape of butterfly wings, placing his paws up on the seat as he glanced up at Lily who couldn’t figure out what he wanted. She watched as he tilted his head towards the seat, strangely catching a human-like expression from the dog as she complied, taking a seat only for him to run off.
“Soobin, what are you doing?” She complained, moving to stand up only for Soobin to growl back in her direction. Lily rolled her eyes in amusement as she perched back down, crossing her legs as she awaited his next move. She could see his long fluffy tail wagging from across the flowering bushes in front of her, examining how each plant was strategically placed alongside a mulch path leading through the small garden.
Lily averted her eyes, finding the sight of Rose and Jungkook farther back in the field. She blinked in astonishment, her eyes widening at the sight of her younger sister smiling as she tossed a frisbee back and forth between Jungkook and Taehyun. Each time one of the dogs snatched up the disk, they returned it, eager to chase after it again.
Lily felt a warmth swell in her chest, thankful to see Rose finally enjoying the company of all three of the dogs. She knew she’d warmed up to Soobin and Taehyun, them being the easiest to manage of the three. However, the sight of her playing with Jungkook was welcoming, grateful that the evening seemed to be presenting a positive shift in the household dynamics.
Her attention quickly returned to Soobin who had an orange hibiscus flower gently tucked within his canines, strutting pridefully as he released the flower to fall onto Lily’s lap. Her eyes settled on Soobin’s familiar dark hues, noticing how similar they appeared as a dog in comparison to his human form. “Awe…Soobin.” She placed a hand over her heart, pressing her palm against her chest as she cherished the sweet gesture from the large fluffy animal.
Her hand instinctually rested atop of his head, scratching the section of fur between his ears as she took the flower, holding it to her nose as the subtle floral scent invaded her nostrils. “You’re such a good boy.” She smiled, part of it still feeling odd to say to a human, however endearing when he was appearing as a husky. Soobin’s tail thrashed in delight, and he nuzzled his chin against her lap, thankful for the attention she was giving him.
On the opposite end of the field, Rose was mid-throw as she tossed the circular frisbee towards the running doberman who was equally as energetic as the younger border collie. She was somewhat relaxed, enjoying the simplicity of their activity given she’d need to report to work in a couple of hours. It was the weekend and her next two days would be spent studying in her free time and working as a waitress in the evenings to help pay off their monthly bills. Luckily, their mom had been generous in paying their college expenses, however, their cars and house payments fell solely on the girls. Not to mention the added expenses of feeding three grown men.
Rose prepared her stance to send the disk flying once again, her attention being pulled by Taehyun who was tossing his body into the grass, rolling and rubbing his back as pieces of the substrate snagged within his fluffy coat. Rose chuckled, releasing the disk towards the large doberman only to see it shift towards the pond, landing against the wooden dock.
“I got it!” She yelled out, sprinting towards the water to retrieve the frisbee before it would find itself in the pond. Just as she reached the docks to pick up the plastic equipment, she felt it get snagged on something, looking up to find the snarl of Jungkook with the frisbee lodged between his jaws. Rose yanked on the disc, attempting to pry it from his teeth only for Jungkook to steady his stance, tugging back against it as he amused the now game of tug of war.
“JK, let go.” Rose complained, not wanting to entertain the shift in game, half expecting Jungkook to ignore her words as usual. She pulled back on the frisbee once again only for Jungkook to release it, amused as he watched the youngest sister stumble backward, her feet grazing the edge of the dock.
Rose felt herself falling backward as he obeyed her command, desperately attempting to catch her footing as she processed the fact that Jungkook had actually listened to her for the first time since arriving. Unlucky for her, the dock ended directly behind her, causing her body to tumble back into the chilled water of the pond. She felt the liquid seep through her clothing as she pulled herself out, crawling back onto the dock only to witness the doberman glaring at her, his canines on full display. Even in his dog form, Rose could still make out the smug smirk that often adorned his face, her temper fuming.
She bunched her shirt, ringing out as much water from the fabric as the materials of her clothing latched to her frame. Jungkook wasn’t one to look away, enjoying the sight before him as he relished in the mischief, he’d placed her through. “I swear JK!” She groaned, glaring intently at the doberman as she trudged past him. “You’re such an ass.”
—
Back at the house, Rose made her way inside ahead of the others, making quick work to claim the shower for herself, desperate to rid herself of the fishy scent accompanying the damp sensations of the pond water. She was hopelessly attempting to remain calm, her annoyance with Jungkook threatening to boil over once again from his obnoxious actions. Luckily, she found herself in the warmth of the shower, enjoying the perfect remedy to calm herself of her frustrations.
Jungkook made a dash to claim Lily’s bathroom, also eager to cleanse his body of the aroma of sweat and grass. Taehyun was quick to pass out against the living room sectional, his body exhausted from the exertion he placed it through at the park.
Lily embarked on the tedious task of cooking dinner, needing to make larger servings than before to feed five hungry bellies, especially given the fact that three of them were hybrids with fast metabolisms. She made her way towards the sink, lathering her hands with the citrus-scented soap as she washed away any evidence of their stroll in the park. She moved to dry her hands on the kitchen rag hanging from the stove handle, pulling out a bowl to prepare a variety of fruits as something for the boys to pick on while awaiting her teriyaki baked chicken.
Her fingers meticulously plucked a few grapes off their vines, tossing them into the bowl with a mixture of blueberries and raspberries. She hesitated once sensing a pair of eyes stalking her about the space, finding Soobin leaning across the breakfast nook as he peered over at the older sibling.
Lily felt her cheeks flush from his stare, not used to being observed so intently as she went about her tasks. She felt her fingers shake slightly as her nerves rattled within her, attempting not to let the sudden attention distract her. She pulled open the top drawer beside the sink, retrieving a small cutting knife as she sliced the tops off the strawberries, sectioning them into fourths before tossing them in to create a colorful assortment of fruits.
She beamed at the brightness within the bowl, stealing a blueberry as she turned her attention to prepping the chicken. She sliced against the cutting board to remove any nerves or fat from the poultry, plopping the chicken into a glass casserole dish before coating it with a garlic teriyaki sauce. She loved this particular brand, her mouth watering already from the delicious scent of the flavors concocted within the bottle.
As Lily moved to wash her hands clean, she noticed Soobin entered the kitchen, hovering around to sniff the various foods sprawled out against the counter. Lily ignored him as she went to turn on the oven, having completely forgotten to preheat it before starting all of her prep work.
Meanwhile, Soobin found himself hovering around the kitchen eager to fill his stomach with food after exerting himself from sprinting around outside. His eyes stalked Lily, invested in her every movement as he observed her skillfully moving around the kitchen. Since the previous evening, he had been overcome with possessive urges, eager to have her paying attention to him every chance he could.
His eyes scanned her figure, drinking in every nook of her form as his pupils glided over the curves that hugged her hips, desperate to dig his fingers against her soft flesh. He dropped his stare lower, the denim adorning her frame perfectly accentuating the shape of her ass, burning the memory in his consciousness as he lecherously ran his tongue over his bottom lip.
An insatiable heat festered within him, his skin running hot as lucid images of Lily beneath him coursed through his mind. He could sense her slow gentle heartbeat as he approached the space behind her, his own pulse attempting to sync with her breathing as he honed in on every reaction her body made. Her natural scent drew him in, luring him like a sailor to a siren as he desperately sought her attention, his fingers itching to brush against her soft skin.
As Lily returned to retrieve the casserole dish, Soobin invaded her personal space, pressing himself against her back as he pulled a soft shriek of surprise from her lips. He hadn’t noticed how his hands grabbed her hips, his fingers savoring the tender flesh beneath them as he gently gave her a squeeze.
Soobin watched as she turned to face him, her complexion flushed red as her eyes sought out answers to his sudden invasiveness. He couldn’t help himself but lean in closer, hovering his head just above her shoulder as he sniffed in the scent of her. The faint fragrance of her usual coconut and bergamot perfume lingered against her skin, her natural pheromones intermixing to serve up an appetizing aroma that Soobin was practically drooling over. The smell of her alone ignited his lust for her, his dick twitching at the horny thoughts overtaking every functioning part remaining in his subconscious.
“Soobin, what are you…?” Lily’s voice was soft, trembling slightly on her words as he moved his face to hover just before hers, his lips threatening to cross the invisible line that kept their proximity at bay.
He was entrapped by her stare, his mind swirling with unspoken desires he wished to share with the brunette, the heat in his body causing him discomfort as she plagued his every thought. He knew exactly what this was, recalling how blazing his body became during his first experience with his rut. He was starting to show symptoms, his attraction and possessiveness of Lily had been the trigger of his rut so soon after all of the stress they endured.
“Soobin?” Lily’s mind was short-circuiting, completely overwhelmed by the man towering over her. Her fingers gripped the casserole dish in front of her tightly, using it as a lifeline as she felt herself practically melt under his stare. He seemed exhausted, his body showing signs of fatigue despite the hungry expression glistening in his pupils.
Lily’s breath hitched as she felt his palms squeeze her hips once again, flustered by his bold invasion of space as she attempted to tame her wild imagination. Soobin was a very attractive man, someone who caught her attention since he stepped foot inside their house. Now that he was pressed up against her, she could truly admire all of his beauty up close, admiring every perfectly crafted feature of his face.
Lily’s mind went spiraling as she felt Soobin lean in, panicking as he seemed to be coming in for a kiss. She didn’t move, knowing deep down she wanted this to happen, craving the sensation of his lips against her as his very stare ignited a need for him within her. Just as his lips approached her own, she felt him tilt his head to the side, one of his arms releasing her hip as he plucked a grape from the bowl. He let his teeth peek from the smirk that stretched at his lips as he tossed in the small morsel, chewing happily as he desperately attempted to tame his urges to take her right over that counter.
Ruts caused hybrids to have hyper-acted senses, his ears honing in on the rapid pitter patter of her heart as it assaulted her rib cage. “Why’s your heart racing?” He questioned, fully knowing the answer as he sniffed in the aroma accompanying her scent. It was sweet and alluring, often accompanying the sensation of lust or desire, also mimicking the scent women gave off during their ovulations. Lily wanted him too, and the mere reality of her desires only heightened his urges. How was he ever going to make it through his rut without getting a taste of her sweet poison?
Lily gulped back her surprise, wondering how to answer his question. Of course, her heart was racing! A handsome man had her pinned to the counter, the heat radiating from his body practically suffocating her as she desperately attempted to maintain her composure.
Before she could find the words to respond, Jungkook emerged from the bathroom with a fresh pair of baggy clothing draped on his frame. He was rubbing a towel through his hair, shaking his head to dry off the remainder as he tossed the fabric to Taehyun. “Your turn.”
The intrusion from his brother caused Soobin to step back, being released from his sexually driven trance as Jungkook joined them to snoop around for something to stuff inside his mouth. Lily and Soobin exchanged one final heated stare before Lily resumed her work, the tone of the oven indicating it was ready for use.

The next day had been interesting, to say the least, Lily managed to steer clear of Soobin's intensity as she focused on the moody doberman, who huffed around the house as if everything was an inconvenience. She knew his mood was related to the bickering between him and her sister, but wasn’t sure how to make amends if they bit at each other every chance they got. She tried to cater to him throughout the day, which only caused Soobin to act out from her lack of attention.
He would growl and move between them to create distance, but Lily would just circle back around him to get to Jungkook. It wasn’t until they were watching television and began watching a show about tattoo artists that she noticed the stony features of Jungkook begin to melt as he became enamored by the designs across the human canvases. Despite the reminder of Rose’s reaction when she took them to get their piercings, Lily decided to offer him the opportunity.
Soobin didn’t like the idea of them going alone together and whined to go as well even though he had no interest in getting a mark on his skin. At the shop, Jungkook admired the art of the tattooist and couldn’t decide on any particular design. After a lengthy consultation, he received a small variety along his arm that would make it easy to have more things added later. While he had his tattoo worked on, Lily fell in love with the line work of another artist and decided on a design of swirls and tiger lilies that would curl over her shoulder.
When the artist went to place the stencil against her skin, Soobin argued that it didn’t look good over her shoulder. He didn’t mind that she was getting the tattoo and the placement was actually very nice, but all he could see was her covering the area where he would one day leave his mate mark. He didn’t want it to heal over with a distracting display of beautiful flowers to take away from his claim on her. He wanted his mark to be the only thing brandishing her shoulders. Lily didn’t ask much about his reasoning and had the artist readjust it to sit on the back of her shoulder so that it ran from her spine to her arm.
The appointments were long with the size and details of each tattoo, but they were finished as the sun began to hide behind the horizon. The dull ache didn’t take long to settle in Lily’s bones from the artist pressing into her back with the needle gun, so she decided to pick up Taehyun, who stayed home and napped, then drove everyone to the local diner. She knew Rose would be less inclined to make a scene about the tattoos at work and possibly act civil with Jungkook.
“I smell Rose! Is she eating with us?” Taehyun asked as he slid into the booth first when Lily guided them to the table she usually occupied when the dinner rush was bustling. Jungkook slid in on the opposite side of the booth and Lily scooted in next to him, causing Soobin to make a disapproving groan in his throat as he sat across from her. His long legs bumped against hers under the table, easing his possessive instinct to feel her touch even in the slightest. His rut was becoming stronger as his need to claim Lily grew with the threat of her being taken by one of the other two males.
Lily reached over Jungkook to grab some menus and handed them out to the hybrids, hoping they would pick something based on the pictures. As she browsed the pamphlet of food options, their waitress arrived, looking down at her notepad ready to grab their drink orders. Lily looked up, surprised to find Rose would be their waitress. “Hello, my name is Rose. What would you like to drink?” She finally glanced away from her notepad and faltered as she noticed her dysfunctional family sitting in her booth. “What are you doing here?”
Lily regularly came to the diner, but Rose never imagined that she would bring the hybrids with her. Her sister smiled sheepishly, “Yeah, I didn’t want to make dinner so…here we are.”
Rose rolled her eyes in response to her sister’s excuse as Taehyun leaned up on the table, “Are you joining us?” His eyes were large and filled with hope.
Rose tilted her head with a small pout, “Sorry, Tae. I can’t, I’m working.” She pointed back towards the kitchen with the cap of her pen and Taehyun slumped back into the booth with disappointment.
“Can we just get water?” Lily asked, noticing Jungkook recede back into his foul mood from earlier with the presence of Rose. Her sister placed her notepad away without jotting anything down before turning to retrieve the four glasses. As she walked away, Lily brushed her hand through Jungkook’s hair, feeling how tense he was.
Soobin pushed his leg back into hers as he glared at the affection she gave Jungkook, who moved away from her touch. His breathing became heavy as his nose scrunched from the low snarl escaping his lips. Jungkook was rigid from the sound coming from his brother and snapped back with a noise acutely similar to a bark. Taehyun yelped as his brothers stared each other down, leaning across the table towards each other with their teeth bared from the curl in their lips.
Lily panicked, realizing that they were making a scene in the middle of a full restaurant. She tapped the table, trying to break them from the trance of animosity. “Both of you stop it!” She whispered harshly, her eyes flickering around the other booths to see people were watching them.
Soobin broke eye contact with Jungkook at the sound of her voice in mild distress. He sensed her nerves rattling within her, wanting nothing more than to comfort her, but sitting back to calm himself down. Rose arrived as the two older males settled back down, feeling a shift in the air as she placed the waters on the table. She reached across to put a glass in front of Jungkook when she noticed the plastic wrapped around his newly decorated forearm.
Her mouth dropped in disbelief as her wide eyes found Lily, “You took him to get tattoos?” Again, the plural status of her statement outweighs the severity of her sister’s actions. It wasn’t so bad that he got a tattoo, but nearly an arm full of tattoos was pushing her sanity off the ledge of rationality.
Lily bit her lip, hands still shaking from the previous interaction between Jungkook and Soobin. She laughed nervously, feeling overwhelmed by the consequences of her actions. “Yeah, he was having a bad day.” She tried to justify.
Rose just shook her head, not believing that her sister thought any of this was acceptable in the slightest. “We’ll talk about this later. What do you guys want?” She focused on the lines of her notepad, trying to bury the aggravation that wanted to bubble over.
“Just bring burgers and fries for all of us. As soon as possible.” Lily added as an afterthought, hoping that fast service would keep the boys distracted with their meal until they left to go home.
“Should I bring JK’s cooked or would he rather just have a raw patty?” She shot him a knowing stare, her eyes narrowed when he looked up at her.
Lily was thrown off by the question, “Uh, cooked…” She glanced over to her side to see if Jungkook argued otherwise before turning back towards Rose. “Yeah, cooked is fine.” Lily waited until Rose left the table before addressing the men, “If we get through dinner without any trouble, I’ll give you guys a treat.”
The hybrids brightened up at the mention of a treat, wondering what it could possibly be. “What kind of treat?” Taehyun asked, his expression eager as he leaned up on the booth again.
Lily merely waved him down to sit and vaguely answered his question to keep them guessing. The table became quiet as Taehyun settled down, only perking up whenever he caught sight of Rose moving around from table to table. Jungkook simply leaned against the corner of the booth, keeping to himself as he ignored the familiar scent of vanilla florals gently sweeping in to remind him that the infuriating brunette was there.
Soobin stared at Lily as she pulled out her phone and seemed to intently be in search of something on the small device. He nudged his leg against hers, capturing her attention away from her phone. She sent him a reassuring smile, but he could sense her uneasiness as he tried to figure out what could be bothering her. She nudged her leg back and Soobin felt warm with need from the reciprocated contact. His rut was proving to be a challenge the more time he was around her, but he would do his best not to pressure her despite his instinct.
Lily was relieved to see the hybrids nestling into the comforts of the restaurant, joyous that whatever mood swing she just encountered would not rear its head. She broke eye contact with Soobin as she glanced back down at her phone, looking through her search engine for answers on his recent behavior. Most of the results showed a preview stating that huskies were friendly, so why did he seem so aggressive lately? He seems like he’s been socialized enough not to be territorial, he couldn’t be fighting for dominance since Jungkook clearly fit that role; so what could it be?
She wasn’t allowed much time to ponder it when Rose came back with a large serving plate to dispense the food onto the table. She put her phone away deciding she would try and get some more information from Katharine when she goes to work the next day. “Thanks, sis.” She smiled up at Rose as she grabbed a fry to put in her mouth.
“You’re-” Jungkook began devouring the burger, shoving the filled patties into his mouth as much as he was capable of before aggressively chewing. Rose blanched in disgust as ketchup smeared over his face and loose pieces of the burger fell from the corner of his mouth. “...welcome.” Soobin and Taehyun followed Jungkook’s example, shoving the large burgers in their mouth for large bites. Rose fixed Lily with wide eyes and a forced smile. “You have fun with that.”
Lily watched as she briskly walked away and caught sight of an elderly couple looking over towards their booth. She smiled sheepishly at the pair before snapping her attention back to the boys at her table. The aggressive scarfing created loud noises that reminded her of a slew of pigs eating their daily slop. “You don’t need to inhale your food. It’s not going anywhere.” She reminded them, relieved when they began to slow down their pace.
With a sigh, Lily dove into her fries meticulously eating them one-by-one before tackling the burger. They all ate silently and before long Jungkook was finished, staring at Lily with intent. “I finished. Where’s my treat?”
She paused mid-chew on her burger, glancing over to see his plate was completely cleaned off with the other two not far behind. “Um…” She searched for her sister to try and get her attention. She was currently helping another customer but noticed Lily waving her over from the corner of her eye. She continued to write down the customer’s order before sighing as she approached the chaos table.
She leaned on one foot, cocking her hip to the side. “Yes?” Her hands pressed against her waist, hoping that her sister was ready for the check.
“Can we get three hot chocolates for the guys? I’m sure they would love that.” Lily knew the men had an appetite for sweets and wanted to fulfill their promise since they were mostly behaved during dinner other than the transparent etiquette flaws.
Rose narrowed her eyes. “That one…” She pointed at Jungkook, “..doesn’t need anything, but I’ll bring some for the other two.” She countered. The doberman already got an arm full of tattoos, why did Lily always feel the need to spoil him? She could see her sister trying to defend Jungkook but stopped her before she could speak. “He’s a good boy.” She pointed at Soobin. “He’s a good boy.” She pointed at Taehyun and went back full circle to Jungkook. “He’s a bitch.”
Lily reached up and covered Jungkook’s ears as he growled at the demeaning name that left Rose’s lips. “That was uncalled for. He’s just misunderstood.” Lily defended as she glared back at her sister, mildly surprised that she cursed at work.
Rose crossed her arms over her chest with an eye roll. “Whatever.” She stomped off back to the kitchens to fulfill the order, annoyance etched throughout her body. She hated that her sister let him do anything he wanted and made excuses for him. She knew Lily felt like she needed to provide them with a good home, but she shouldn’t be encouraging his behavior as a menace to society.
Lily pulled her hands away, looking towards the human doberman. “Sorry about that.” Jungkook could only huff as he hunched over the table, the muscles on his back firm from the tension building within them. He didn’t know how to feel about Rose anymore. He spent the most time with her out of the others, but she’s cold towards him. Yet, his brothers attached themselves more to Lily and she goes out of her way for him. Things seemed backwards and he understood he had some issues with trust and obedience, but that still didn’t excuse Rose’s attitude towards him.
As Jungkook was lost in thought, Rose returned with her serving tray and placed the three mugs of hot chocolate with whipped cream in front of each hybrid. “Enjoy!” Her smile didn’t reach her eyes as she looked at Soobin and Taehyun.
A pit of guilt punched Lily in the stomach as she noticed Jungkook simply staring at the mug of sweet liquid. She pushed the cup closer to him, “Go ahead. You’ll like it. Just be careful, it’s hot.”
He blankly stared at the whipped cream, lost in thought as he tried to process how he would manage to live in this house with Rose. Distant memories of his first owners were haunting him as he remembered being abandoned and given to the shelter. He felt stuck because he enjoyed the safety and comforts of their new home, but he was scared that if Rose couldn’t accept him then he would lose all of that. It was a constant battle between them and Jungkook wasn’t sure if he was willing to let his guard down in the event she did return them back to their legal owners.
Lily softly smiled at Taehyun as he stared at the drink, sniffing around the swirl of whipped cream. He slowly brought the mug up to his lips and took a sip. His mouth was met with the warm flow of chocolate with the contrasting feeling of cool solidified cream melting over his tongue. He raised the cup higher, gathering a larger gulp before placing the cup back down on the tabletop. Lily laughed when she noticed his nose was covered in white cream and chocolate ran along the curve of his top lip.
He dragged his tongue over his lip to collect the remnants, trying to curl it over the tip of his nose to wipe off the whipped cream there. Soobin took a sip as well, laughing as he also got cream on his nose. Lily leaned on her palm and admired the two hybrids sitting across from her, capturing the wholesome moment as a memory she wished to keep for those days that might seem hard. Their happiness was a reminder that bringing them into her home changed her life for the better.
She peered at Jungkook from the corner of her eye, gesturing with the tilt of her head towards the mug for him to join in on the fun. She nearly cried with joy when he finally took his sip and a small chuckle escaped his lips. Her heart swelled with love for the new additions to her unconventional family and no one could take that away from her. “I love hot chocolate!” Taehyun projected enthusiastically, taking more sips from the mug in his hands.
Rose heard him from a few tables away, notepad in her hand as she prepared to take the order of another customer. The man she was currently serving sat by himself with a simple cup of coffee. She allowed him a few moments to look at the menu and noticed him place it down before she made her next move. “What can I get you?”
Rose was so focused on her notepad that she didn’t notice the way his eyes ran over her figure, his lids heavy with ill intent. “Are you on the menu?” He asked, lecherously. Rose faltered as his question registered in her head. She was familiar with flirtatious comments and recognized this particular line from a handful of customers before him, but his demeanor made her uncomfortable. He wasn’t being funny or light-hearted like most people were, he was a sleazy creep.
She steeled herself, ignoring his comment. “No, so what can I get you instead?” She pursed her lips together as her anxiety spiked the pounding of her heart. The faster she could get his order and him out of her hair, the better.
Jungkook sensed a wave of distress in the restaurant as he gulped down the rest of his hot chocolate. Soobin and Taehyun were still savoring their drinks as Lily continued to nibble on her burger since she was a slow eater. Jungkook looked over his shoulder, catching a glimpse of Rose talking to a man, the distress pounding through her chest and beating through Jungkook’s ear drums. His eyes narrowed as he tried to focus on their conversation, but the sound was washed out by the loud ambiance of the diner.
“JK?” Lily asked, noticing that he was practically turned around in his seat. She peered behind her to see him glaring at Rose and she only hoped he didn’t try to pick a fight with her just before they were supposed to leave.
She tugged the sleeve of his shirt, but he ignored her as his pupils shrunk in on the man. Rose seemed to pace back and forth between leaning on her left or right leg as she tried to get away from the customer without being rude. He kept flirting with her and making her uncomfortable, refusing to tell her what he wanted besides coffee. She noticed the mug was empty, “Let me get you a refill and let you think about your order for a moment.”
She went to turn away as fast as possible, but she was stopped abruptly when the man reached out and grabbed her apron. “I wasn’t done talking to you.” His gruff voice was commanding and degrading all on its own.
Jungkook bared his teeth with a growl as he watched the man grab Rose against her will and pull her back towards him. Her fear spiked and Jungkook jumped into action, lifting up from his seat and stepping over the table. The dishes clattered as he moved across them, startling Lily as she yelled after him. The scolding tone in her voice didn’t stop him as he took large strides through the diner, his destination being the only thing he could see.
Rose could barely blink in response to the man grabbing her before his grip was ripped from her and all she could see was Jungkook’s back hiding her view of the man. When he approached the pair, Jungkook grabbed the man’s outstretched wrist firmly and yanked it away from her as he stood between them. He stood menacingly over the man with his doberman features shining through, asserting his dominance against the human. “Keep your hands to yourself.” He growled.
“JK, it’s okay.” Rose tried to de-escalate the situation and placed her hand on Jungkook’s shoulder, unsure how to approach him in this state. She never witnessed him be so aggressive, where did this come from and why was he protecting her?
The man’s face hardened up at the younger male, moving to stand up defensively, but cringed as Jungkook tightened his grip and twisted his wrist downward, creating pain in the man’s arm. “Don’t fucking touch her again, understand?” He hissed as Lily and Soobin finally made an appearance, pulling him away from the offender.
“JK, stop! Let’s go!” Lily placed her hold on his wrist, pulling his hand away from the man as Soobin pulled him away by pushing against his shoulder. Rose gaped as he responded to the pair, following their guidance towards the door. “Tae, time to go!” Lily hollered at the booth, blocking Jungkook’s fierce glare from piercing through Rose’s customer.
Rose noticed a messy pile of crumpled bills left on their table as her mind tried to process what just happened. The man cradled his wrist as he rose from his seat and hastily left the diner, avoiding the direction of the others as he walked to his car. “Rose, clean up your tables!” Another waitress demanded when she only seemed to stand in place.
She snapped back to reality, realizing that coffee spilled across the table after Jungkook collided into them before she noticed the mess left behind from her sister’s booth. People were watching her like she was free entertainment and she felt heat rise to her cheeks from embarrassment. Her family made her look crazy and left her to clean up their mess. She was so mad, but yet as she wiped away the spilled coffee, her mind refused to think about anything other than the way Jungkook stood up for her.
Despite their differences and constant fighting, he still protected her from the creep. His approach was very impulsive, but that bothered her the most. He did it so effortlessly, without any incentive; be damned the consequences to himself or her. She was beyond confused, but couldn’t fight the feeling that maybe Jungkook cared about her more than she originally believed. After cleaning the coffee, she moved to the other booth and groaned when she noticed some of the dishes were broken. Tonight was a complete disaster, but she couldn’t wait to get home.

After what seemed like an eternity of damage control and Lily’s hopeless attempts to calm Jungkook down enough for him to agree to come back home with them, the household settled for the evening. Taehyun was passed out on the living room couch, a blanket covering his body as his limbs stretched loosely across the cushions. He had a movie playing in the background, the soft noise soothing him to sleep as he enjoyed a night in his human form.
Jungkook had shifted back into his bulky doberman frame, his body curled against Rose’s duvet as he breathed in her scent laced throughout the sheets. This was his first night back in her room since abandoning her after their fight at the grocery store. Despite how easily she boiled his blood, he felt protective over her and insisted on sleeping on her bed so he could make sure she made it back home safely after her shift at the restaurant.
As much as he enjoyed the company of Lily and Soobin, he missed the company of the younger brunette. Rose’s sweet scent of vanilla and gardenia filled his nostrils, comforting him as it slowly lulled him to sleep.
Lily laid quietly on her bed, aimlessly scrolling through social media as she extended her arms upward to hold her phone screen in front of her face. She maneuvered through multiple apps, checking the status of her friends as she fell into her usual bedroom routine. She anticipated tonight would be the same as the rest, waiting for Soobin to race out from the bathroom as he claimed his space atop of her bed before they both drifted into sleep.
Tonight, wasn’t like any other. While Lily was casually browsing through her phone, Soobin found himself standing beneath a stream of cold water, his body scorching from the heat festering within him. He suppressed his rut since the previous day, finding it increasingly more challenging to ignore the girls as their hormones only amplified his aroused state.
Throughout his time with them, he formed a specific attachment to Lily, which inevitably morphed into him claiming her as his own. He felt drawn to her, parched to taste her on his tongue and feel her body against his. He let a small whine escape his lips, desperate to cool himself off from the uncomfortable wave of lust coursing through his body.
After what seemed like an elongated period of time dousing himself under the cool liquid, he turned off the water with every intention of continuing their night as usual. He noticed Lily’s favorite nightshirt draped over the vanity as he dried himself off, securing his towel around his hips as stared down the article of clothing.
Soobin was suddenly hit with a wave of sweetness, the pleasant aroma swirling around him as he breathed in the familiar scent of her coconut body splash mixed in with her natural treacliness. His senses immediately connected the fragrance to her shirt, gripping his large hands around the fabric as he held it up to his nose to further indulge in the scent as if sniffing a delicious meal.
He glanced up into the mirror, catching a glimpse of his pupils dilating from the sexual attraction he felt to the older brunette. Despite his attempts to cool himself off from wanting to devour his bedmate, her scent plagued him right back into his sexual desires.
Lily heard the click of the bathroom door as her eyes skimmed a variety of pictures encoded on her screen, not realizing that Soobin was making his way towards her with nothing more than a towel wrapped around his hip to conceal his naked body. He narrowed his eyes as he watched her intently focused on her device, instantly becoming jealous of her attention being averted to anything but himself.
He was determined to get her attention, assessing how she laid with her arms outstretched to hold her phone in front of her face. His body acted off his instincts as he began crawling on top of her, snaking his head into the nook between herself and her phone. Lily practically jumped back in shock, her eyes instantly recognizing Soobin’s bare chest as she dropped her arms down to either side of her body.
“What are you looking at?” Soobin’s voice resonated deep in his chest, creating an alluring pitch as Lily’s eyes fixated on his face that was hovering inches from hers. His lips were pulled into an endearing pout, his wet dark strands covering the chocolate hues of his eyes as they hung just over his features. Lily caught a glimpse of how blown out his pupils were, barely noticing any of the brown pigment from his eyes as she examined him closely.
“I was…um…just looking though Tumbler.” Lily hated how unsteady her voice was, unable to prevent her stuttering as she felt the heat of Soobin’s body engulf her limbs. Why was he so warm? Was he possibly running a fever?”
Soobin’s lips pulled into a smile, the intensity in his stare melting away as his eyes sparkled with the same expression of delight, his dimples on full display. He had her undivided attention which only sparked an almost euphoric sensation to radiate from his core. “Tumbler?” He tilted his head to the side, his arms resting on either side of her head. “What’s Tumbler?”
Lily’s body was frozen, her phone still nestled in her hand as she laid flat, her arms mimicking a hostage holding their arms up in surrender. “It's a…” God, why was he so fucking gorgeous? She was falling apart, ripping at the seams right before him as her mind short-circuited from their close proximity.
Soobin was quick to catch onto her emotions, his senses picking up on her elevating heart rate, thrilled that he was eliciting these reactions from her body. “Your heart’s racing again.” He pointed out happily, leaning his head down to press the shell of his ear just above her breastbone as he listened for the rapid fluttering of her organ.
Lily’s cheeks ran hot, undoubtedly turning a bright shade of crimson as the scent of his musky shampoo invaded her nostrils. Fuck, he smells so good. His cheeks were warm against her chest, his heat seeping through her clothes as it warmed her body and ignited her need for him as he hovered there in a tantalizing manner.
After what seemed like an eternity, he finally lifted his head to find her gaze once more and met with the pleasant sight of her rosy cheeks and flustered appearance. “I like it.” He hummed happily, his expression so innocent, yet his eyes darkened with lust.
Lily smiled weakly, her eyes glued to his as a smile returned to his naturally pouty lips, desperate to pull his flesh between her teeth. With a blip of courage surging through her being, she released her phone, grabbing Soobin’s face between her fingers before pressing herself up into him to place a chaste kiss against his lips.
The sudden softness against his lips caused his eyes to widen, pulling back with the look of surprise plastered on every inch of his face. Lily’s eyes seemed to share the same expression of shock, instantly racking her mind with a way to apologize for her rash behavior. Before she could say another word, Soobin dipped down to capture her lips in the same manner, this time lingering on as they melted into each other.
Soobin could feel his body reacting to their intimate contact, fighting the urge to buck his hips against her as he savored the flavor of her mouth. He kissed her slowly as if every movement of their lips sent a wave of euphoria through his body, deepening the kiss as Lily probed the seam of his lips with her tongue, Soobin happily allowing her access.
As Lily’s muscle explored his mouth, Soobin bit back a groan, the sound distorted as if whining from Lily’s treatment. Lily pulled back from their embrace, stunned to find Soobin’s pupils completely blown out, his expression wrecked as he panted from the heat of his rut overwhelming his body. “You taste as good as you smell.” He huffed, no longer able to suppress his instincts as his hips bucked forward, his hardened length rubbing against Lily’s core through the towel and her thin sleep shorts.
His movements and words pulled a moan from her lips, her head falling back as she caught her bottom lip between her teeth, gnawing it slightly as she felt his hips grind against her. He let another soft whine escape, no longer able to hold off his rut as he caved into his impulses, his hips bucking into her with more force and speed.
“Oh my god…Soobin.” She moaned, feeling every movement of his length pressing against her as the friction stimulated her clit, sending her reeling for more. He couldn’t stop, obsessed over the sensations kicking in as he dipped his head to place kisses along her jaw. He trailed his lips down to her neck, sucking her soft skin in hopes of leaving some evidence of his presence.
Every fiber of his being craved to sink his teeth into her shoulder, wanting to see his bite mark decorating her pale skin as a representation of his claim on her. He shook his urges, simply kissing along the shell of her ear, his hips endlessly grinding against hers as their bodies moved in unison.
Lily laced her hands through Soobin’s hair, tugging gently on the damp strands as she arched her back, completely overwhelmed by his touch. Her body pressed up against him in an attempt to eliminate any remaining space between them. Each thrust from Soobin had the bulge of his cock deliciously rubbing against her core, building her climb as their foreheads pressed together. “Yes…keep going.”
Her praise only amplified his movements, needy for some form of release as he felt her hands grip the bare skin of his back. He wanted nothing more than to please her, desperate for her to call his name again as his fingers clawed into her sheets. “Soobin!” Lily moaned, the attention to her clit building her climb until the merciless pounding of his hips sent her over her peak, cascading down as she sang his praise.
A low growl festered in his chest, his eyes and teeth morphing into an animalistic reflection. “You’re perfect.” He groaned blissfully as he continued his thrusts, feeling the pressure build at the base of his cock until he spilled his seed against the towel barricading himself from her, feeling a shutter rake through his limbs as the tension released. Lily was too blissed out to fully comprehend what just transpired, Soobin rutting himself into the towel as his eyes pinched shut in satisfaction.
Soobin allowed his body to press down against Lily’s, the exertion of his impulses caught up to him as he hopelessly tried to sedate his urges to take her fully, knowing if he did, he’d be too tempted to mate her. He needed to take things slowly and not rush into anything, knowing his rut wouldn’t end until he successfully came inside of her. He pushed off of her to retreat to the shower in an attempt to cool himself down once again, leaving Lily to ponder how their evening had turned into a heated session of dry humping.
Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the house, Rose was arriving home after what seemed like a never-ending shift at the restaurant. As a waitress, she had grown accustomed to the occasional sleazy customer, learning how to cope with their forwardness and move on. She hadn’t expected Jungkook to react the way he did, still surprised by his sudden protectiveness over her.
She let a long sigh escape her lips as she kicked off her shoes, bending down to place them onto the shoe rack before shuffling her feet against the tile. She paused once reaching the living room, noticing that Taehyun wasn’t in her bed and instead was passed out on the couch. She quickly snatched the remote, turning off the television before adjusting the blanket atop of him, allowing him to continue resting without any disruptions.
Part of her was excited at the thought of having her bed to herself tonight, however another part knew she’d miss the company of a dog cuddled up beside her. She turned the corner to enter her room, ready to grab her pajamas and shower away the stress of the day only to be met with the sight of a bulky doberman sprawled out against her duvet.
She couldn’t fight off the smile that invaded her features, pleasantly surprised to find Jungkook awaiting her return home while claiming his spot back on her bed. She would never outwardly admit it, but she truly did miss his company, enjoying their banter more than she’d ever let on. She felt a blush creep onto her cheeks as she turned to grab her clothing, fighting the giddy feeling festering in her stomach as she made her way towards the bathroom.

After a long day filled with distracting thoughts of Soobin, Lily finally decided to approach Katharine with her questions about his behavior. If anyone had a clue, it would be her. She moved through the office, relieved to see most of her coworkers already left for the day so she didn’t have to worry about anyone eavesdropping. She peered around the corner to see Katharine diligently typing away at her computer, features stony as her focus fixated on her task.
Lily quietly stood in the doorway, waiting for her boss to glance up as she cleared her throat for attention. Katharine snapped her gaze up and smiled as she realized her work friend was standing at the entrance of her office. Her typing ceased, “Hey, sorry I was emailing Hobi some information about a hybrid shelter.”
“Oh?” Lily walked into the room curiously, taking a seat in one of the chairs placed in front of Katharine’s desk. “What kind of information?” She was familiar with the work of her boss’s husband, but she was curious if maybe the information was tied to the boy’s legal owners.
Katharine just waved her hand dismissively. “Oh, we’ve been talking about getting another one and this place looked nice.” She sighed, “It’s hard cause we can’t decide if we want a male or female. Males like to fight for dominance, and we wouldn’t want to make Jimin feel inferior.” She adjusted her posture, relaxing back into the cushion of her chair. “On the other hand, what if the female gets pregnant? I want hybrids, not children.” She tutted, lost in thought before shaking her head for clarity. “Girl, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to ramble.”
“Oh, it’s fine. I understand.” She didn’t because just the idea of dealing with a litter of babies on top of managing the three hybrids overwhelmed her. Bringing a female home would definitely never be an issue. She shook the chaotic images of a house full of hybrids from her mind and redirected her focus. “So, males will fight? Is that always the case?” Maybe she missed something in her internet search.
“Not always, just when they weren’t raised together or, like, figured it out.” Katharine answered. Lily hummed as the response only confirmed that was not the root cause behind Soobin’s behavior.
“Well, my…neighbor has a hybrid and she’s noticed that he’s more aggressive than usual. Do you maybe know why?” Lily leaned her elbows on the desk, sitting on the edge of her chair.
Katharine quirked her eyebrow and hummed in thought. “Well, depending on the breed, he could be protective or territorial. Um, could be abuse, neglect, illness…um, what else?” She raked her brain for more reasons and Lily felt clueless as she realized maybe there was a bigger issue than just his bad mood. “Do you know the breed?”
Lily glanced up to see Katharine stopped rattling off different causes. “He’s a Siberian husky.”
Katharine seemed surprised by that response. “How’s he been acting exactly?”
“Um…” Lily thought about it for a second. “I guess, he’s been aggressive with other hybrids and like, all up in my- I mean her business. Almost like he’s territorial, I think?” She didn’t know how to describe his temperament since it seemed to come in waves, and it was always directed at her and Jungkook.
Her boss sat quietly for a second, wracking her memory for something that fit the description. She knew not all hybrids were exactly the same, but they were prone to inhibit common traits to their canine forms. Huskies were independent, smart, and friendly so it didn’t quite make sense that he was acting territorial. Finally, the light bulb shone in the darkness of her mind. “Did he hit his rut?”
Lily blinked as she stared at her boss with a blank expression, “What’s that? How do you know if he hit it?” She scrunched her fingers to make quotation marks around the technical term used in reference to a hybrid’s rut.
Katharine bit her lip and nervously chuckled. “Well, it’s pretty much when they’re DTF…down to...you know.” She cringed as the words left her lips, vivid imagines of her hybrid, Jimin, going through his rut as he panted and humped his way around their home.
“Oh….” The word dragged from Lily’s lips as the pieces began to click, realizing how needy Soobin seemed compared to the first few days. “So, how do you tell?”
Katharine sighed, “They’re pretty much a mess at that point so, if they’re acting out or trying to get your attention, that’s an easy sign. Their body usually gets hot, and they'll become sweaty or overheated. If they're territorial though…that usually means they want to…uh, you know…with that person.” She took a breath and looked Lily in the eye. “You said he was like that with your neighbor? Or with someone else?”
“Uh, yeah with her.” Lily answered nervously, her mind already running wild. She suddenly felt jittery as her imagination went rampant with possibilities, wondering if Katharine would confirm her thoughts.
“Then he probably wants to... her.” Katharine pursed her lips together, realizing the personal information she was gathering about this stranger and her hybrid. “Make sure to let her know cause he might get worse before he gets better.”
“What do you mean?” Lily’s mind halted from the seriousness in Katharine’s tone.
Katharine glanced at the time, noticing that it was getting late, and began gathering her things. “Well during ruts, they’re instincts are to breed and the human part of them can only fight it for so long. If she doesn’t want him to force her into anything, she needs to make a decision and either give in to him or take a vacation.” She informed her friend as she got up, slipping her purse over her shoulder and tucking her folder under her arm.
Lily processed her words slowly, following her superior out of the office and heading down to the parking lot to head home. Katharine went back to talking about the possible new addition to their family, but Lily wasn’t paying attention. She was lost in thought, deciding what she should or shouldn’t do about Soobin.
Katharine confirmed that he was most likely facing his rut, making Lily wonder when it exactly started and how much longer until it ended. However, the part that seemed to strike her the most was that Soobin’s behavior was mostly directed towards her and according to her boss, meant he wanted her. She bit her lip, imagining letting him have his way with her but shook her head to think rationally. Should she be doing that? Would things change if she did? What would Rose say? Or better yet, what wouldn’t she say?
When she finally reached her truck and slid into the driver’s seat, she gripped the steering wheel and laid her head against the top of it. “Shit.” She cursed softly to herself, upset that the information she sought after ended up bothering her. Now she had to face Soobin and she wasn’t sure how to act around him. She exhaled as she lifted her head, turning the key to her ignition; the roar of the engine only caused her body to shiver more with the gentle vibrations of the motor mixed with her sizzling nerves.
—
Back at home, Soobin and Taehyun were playing Mario Kart, challenging each other again and again. Taehyun was ahead in the number of wins, but Soobin was determined to beat him. Jungkook watched them curiously, picking on the husky with each loss. The eldest hybrid sighed as boredom seeped in, glancing in the direction of Rose’s bedroom. He distinctly remembered her mentioning she had to do something and for them to keep busy, but beyond the television, there wasn’t much to do.
He pushed himself up from the couch, walking towards the long hallway. Taehyun noticed him leaving and called after him, “Where are you going?”
“I’m bored.” His voice was void of any emotion, conveying his indifference to their current activities.
“Did you want to play?” Taehyun held up his controller even though Jungkook moved past him.
“No.” Jungkook grunted as he turned the corner, pushing open Rose’s bedroom door.
Rose was sitting in the middle of her bed with her legs crossed underneath a textbook and notebook perched on her lap. She pressed the end of a pen against her lip as she deeply thought of the information displayed before her. Her headphones looped over her head as she wore a pink leisure top and gray sleep shorts. Jungkook wordlessly moved to the bed after shutting the bedroom door and grabbed the books from her lap, placing them beside her. She hollered in protest as he plopped down beside her, preparing to lie down before she abruptly slammed the books back on her lap.
“What do you think you’re doing?” She asked, pulling the headphones from her ears to hear his excuse.
His eyebrows narrowed, glaring at the books as he pushed them off from her lap and firmly put his head there. “I’m bored.” He answered, closing his eyes as he tried to rest.
Rose threw her hands up in frustration and then scooted back along the bed, letting his head fall to the duvet. “JK, I need to study. Go do something else.” She moved to the side of the bed, swinging her legs off the sheets and getting up to study in Lily’s office.
A small pout protruded from Jungkook’s lips as he watched her gather her study materials to leave the room. She only managed to take one step away from the bed until arms wrapped themselves around her middle and pulled her back. She stumbled as the back of her knees hit the bed, dropping her unceremoniously onto the duvet. She turned to protest but was surprised to witness Jungkook curl around her, tucking his body to spoon her like a body pillow. He looked up at her with his large puppy eyes and Rose sighed as she sunk into the bed. “Fine, you can stay, but I need to study.” She lifted her legs up on the bed and crossed them again, resuming her original position.
Jungkook made a noise in his throat and shifted so that he could lay his head by her thigh and let his body curve around her back. The position was similar to the way he slept in his dog form and Rose couldn’t deny how endearing he seemed as he rested his eyes, digging his scalp against the plush comforter.
A soft smile graced her face as she tentatively reached a hand towards his hairline, dipping her fingertips through the forest of his roots to lightly scratch his head affectionately. He peeked at her from one eye and Rose pulled back, worried he might not want her to touch him. He reached up to grab her wrist that hovered just above his face and pressed her palm against his scalp. “Don’t stop.” His voice was gruff, but not in an aggressive way; the sound was almost relaxed.
His grip on her wrist released and Rose continued to massage her fingers through his hair, opening her book back up to resume in her study session with her unoccupied hand. A small unrecognizable noise rattled in Jungkook’s throat before he closed his eyes, his body melting with her touch.
“I’m home!” Lily hollered as she entered from the garage. Rose paused her affections as she heard the clamor of Soobin and Taehyun greeting her, expecting Jungkook would seek out her sister for entertainment. When he remained in his position despite the noise just within the hallway, she glanced down to find him practically asleep. His face brushed closer to the skin of her thigh and his breath blew a soft stream of warmth where his mouth hovered.
—
Lily changed into her comfy sleepwear with every intention of relaxing from a very interesting day that might stretch into the night as she considered the information about Soobin’s rut. When he and Taehyun greeted her, she could see the way his eyes were dilated, the pupils nearly engulfing his entire iris. She glanced at herself for a moment in the mirror, wondering what made her appealing to the hybrid or if it was simply based on the fact that he spent the most time with her.
The sudden vibration of her cell phone caught her attention, moving over to her bedside table to check the caller ID. She cringed as soon as she noticed it was her mother and almost didn’t answer but had a feeling she needed to pick up. “Hey, mom.” She spoke into the phone as she leaned it up to her ear.
“Hello, my child!” Rebecca sang dramatically, causing Lily to feel a pit in her stomach. Her mother sounded way too cheery, which only meant trouble for the sisters. “Are you busy?”
Lily forced a smile on her lips to subconsciously brighten her voice. “Of course not. What’s up?”
“Oh good, 'cause I’m on my way.” Lily nearly choked but held her breath as she listened to the distant sound of a car in the background.
“On your way? Here?”
Lily was wide-eyed, glancing around her room to see all the boys' stuff lying around. Panic was setting in as she waited for her mother’s confirmation. “Yes, I’m bringing dinner. It’s one of those premade meals at the store…” Rebecca began to ramble on about how to cook a container of food as if Lily didn’t know how to read directions or ever cooked in her life. Lily blocked her out as she scrambled to throw the boys' things somewhere inconspicuous.
“Um, how far are you?” Lily interrupted, worried that her mom decided to call her at the very last minute.
“Well, I just left my house about ten minutes ago. I just reached the interstate when I called you.” Rebecca responded through the phone, switching into the fast lane without properly using her turn signal.
Lily calculated the time in her head, mildly grateful that her mom wasn’t just down the street. “Okay well, see you when you get here.” She was trying to get off the phone so she could warn the others.
“Why are you rushing me off the phone?” Rebecca furrowed her brow, ignoring the honk from the car she cut off just a moment ago.
Lily stuttered for an answer, “I-I’m not. I just want to clean up a little before you get here.”
“Oh, you don’t have to do that.” Lily fought the urge to roll her eyes at the blatant lie, knowing she couldn’t possibly count the number of times her mother scrutinized the cleanliness of her house. “Well, I guess if the house is messy, I’ll let you go. See you soon!”
The call disconnected and Lily bolted to Rose’s bedroom. Upon opening the door, she faltered a moment seeing Jungkook cuddled up on the bed with Rose petting his head softly as she glanced over her textbook. “Hey!”
Rose heard the muffled sound and looked up to find her sister’s manic expression before pulling off her headphones. Jungkook stirred when Rose’s hand pulled away. “What’s wrong?” Rose asked, worried about what caused her sister such distress.
“Mom’s coming here, like now.” Lily’s words came out in breaths as her body shook nervously.
Rose’s jaw dropped, a pit of dread plummeting in her stomach. “Shit.” She snapped her book shut and got up from the bed as Jungkook groaned from the disruption of his comfort. “How much time do we have?”
Lily thought about it, “Um, probably forty-five…ish.” Rose cursed again as she realized the house was not ready for a visit from their mom. “Okay, just hide all of their stuff and I’ll clean up as much as I can.” Rose nodded her head and began gathering all of Jungkook’s things lying about in her room.
Lily bound into the living room to find Taehyun and Soobin looking at her with concern. “We need to clean! Let’s go!” She clapped her hands with emphasis, relieved when they jumped up from the couch and followed her directions. Lily tackled the kitchen, making sure it was presentable since her mother would be nosing around while the meal cooked in the oven.
The house bustled as everyone worked together to make everything presentable except for Jungkook, who moved at a snail's pace to “help.” Lily was erratically cleaning the dishes when Soobin came into the kitchen. He stood close, sensing her unease. “Can I help?”
Lily whipped her head to the side to find Soobin and a wave of heat rushed to her cheeks. She was already on edge because her mom was coming but being around Soobin after the night before was almost too much. “No, Soobin. I’m fine.” She continued to work on the dishes without realizing her hands were shaking behind the speed of her motions as she scrubbed the dish.
She also overlooked the rigid tone that projected her words to him, causing him to feel dejected. He didn’t understand why she was acting this way and thought about their actions the previous night. Did he imagine her emotions and actions in the haze of his rut? Did he push her too far? His chest felt heavy as his shoulders slumped in defeat, thinking about how she didn’t want him.
Lily heard a small whine from the hybrid and glanced over to see the deep pout on his lips that nearly broke her resolve. Her drive home was difficult when all she could think about was how much she wanted him, but she was trying to be rational about it. She was out of her element and scared of what would happen based on her actions, but she never wanted to hurt him.
She quickly dropped the dish and sponge before cleaning off the residue to stop him from leaving the kitchen. She cupped his cheeks, letting herself relax as his hands moved to her hips. “I’m sorry. I’m not upset with you. It’s just…my mom is well, a lot to handle.” His pout lifted as her nerves settled and her scent filled his lungs. “Once she’s gone, I’ll make it up to you. Anything you want…”
She pulled back as she realized the mistake of her words, the heat invading her skin when he slightly smirked down at her. “Anything?” He hummed, leaning in close as his pupils engulfed his irises again. He was satisfied by the loud drumming of her heart as he diminished their proximity.
He slowly maneuvered her against the counter, practically caging her from escaping his intense gaze as he looked at her as if he were ready to take her for all her worth. Lily stuttered again, dipping her tongue over her bottom lip. “Uh, w-well-”
“Are we done yet?” Soobin nearly growled when he snapped his head to find Jungkook standing at the entrance of the kitchen, apathetic to the current situation transpiring between the pair.
“Um…” Lily slipped away from Soobin, much to his disappointment, and looked for her sister. “Rose, are we good?” She called out when she didn’t see her right away.
Rose came in from the garage, “Yep, put all their stuff in your truck for now.” She clapped her hands of the dust from her successful handiwork. Everyone was now huddled in the living room and that’s when it dawned on Rose that mom was going to be meeting their new household members. “So, how do you plan on telling Mom three men live with us and sleep in our beds?” She crossed her arms over her chest, watching her sister have a mild breakdown as the thought finally came to her.
“Um…you’re dogs! Be dogs!” Her panic set in as she anticipated her mother’s arrival any minute. Soobin and Taehyun shrunk down into their canine forms as Lily quickly scooped up their clothes to throw somewhere. She turned to grab Jungkook’s things but found him standing as his human self. “JK, please.”
Ding! Dong!
Soobin and Taehyun ran to the door, curious about the visitor, barking in greeting as Rose followed to open the door for their mother. She paused, waiting for Jungkook to switch forms, but feeling Rebecca’s impatience radiating through the thick wood of their front entrance. Lily glared at Jungkook, “Don’t do this now. I need you to be a dog just until she leaves.” She rarely was impatient with him, but she knew if her mother met them in their human forms, she would interrogate them. “Please.”
Jungkook sighed, letting his body slump down to the floor as if melting into his doberman form. Lily breathed with relief and snatched the clothes before tossing them in the laundry room, finally nodding for Rose to open the door.
Rose plastered a fake smile on her lips as she welcomed her mom. “Hey!”
Rebecca was instantly startled by the large fluffy dogs that jumped for her attention. “When did you get dogs?” She asked as she maneuvered inside with the packaged meal in hand. Luckily, their mom was fond of animals more so than people and greeted them with mild excitement. “They’re gorgeous.”
The sisters bit back their laughter as Taehyun and Soobin wagged their tails from the compliment. Lily reached out for the tray of food, moving into the kitchen to start the oven right away to get the dinner over with as soon as possible. Jungkook sat in the middle of the hallway glowering at the woman as she moved further into the house.
“You have three? Are you sure you can handle that?” Their mother asked.
After setting up the oven to begin preheating, Lily glanced back towards Rebecca. “They were lost so I took them in. I think we’re doing a pretty good job.” She finally answered, feeling the familiar sense of insecurity creeping in that came from a visit with their mom.
Rose pushed Jungkook’s intense demeanor to the side as she brought her mom to the living room and went through streaming options to entertain their guest. Taehyun jumped on the couch and placed himself in Rebecca’s lap, forcing her to give him attention while Jungkook kept his distance, soft growls rumbling in his throat that only Rose could hear. Rebecca ruffled Taehyun’s fur with a smile, “This one is full of energy. Do you walk them often?”
Lily sighed as their mom began her interrogation, questioning their ability to care for the three hybrids. “Yes, of course.” She opened the package of the meal, reading the instructions before she noticed the size of the serving. There was no way that would feed the women, let alone the additional hybrids and she couldn’t exactly feed them stuffed peppers without it looking suspicious.
She pulled out her rice cooker and tossed 3 cups of uncooked rice in the pot before scavenging for some protein and vegetables to create a meal for the boys. She found some shredded carrots and leftover chicken that would work perfectly. She placed them on the counter before the oven signaled that it was fully heated. She pulled back the film over the package and placed the dish in the oven before moving into the living room to join her family.
She noticed Jungkook and Soobin were just sitting on the edge of the living room carpet, one waiting for her and the other avoiding the intruding presence. “Come on.” She spoke softly, brushing her fingers over Jungkook’s scalp to feel how tense he was. The way he flinched from her touch was a clear indicator that he wasn’t very happy about their predicament.
She continued to the couch finding her spot on the chaise as Soobin jumped up next to her and placed his head in her lap. Rose put on a thriller as their mom enjoyed the genre and hoped that would keep her from asking any more questions. “What are their names?” Rebecca asked, much to Rose’s chagrin.
Lily froze, meeting Rose’s stare. Lily looked at Soobin, trying to think of a name on the tip of her tongue. “This is Chief.” She wasn’t sure why that was the first thing that popped into her brain, but just rolled with it as she fixed her gaze on Taehyun. “That’s Bullet.”
She then turned to Jungkook as he slowly crept to the couch to sit at the far end near Rose’s feet, his stare fixed on Rebecca. She looked at the bulky frame of the doberman and blanked. Rose could see her struggle and glanced down at the dog by her feet, a smirk crawling over her features. “Kookie.” She ruffled the short fur on the top of his head, laughing as his ears flopped with the motion.
Jungkook growled up at her before fixing his stare back towards Rebecca. Their mother looked at her daughters skeptically as she digested the names. “What a sweet name for such an aggressive dog.” She commented as she turned her attention to the movie.
Lily became tense as she heard Jungkook’s growl amplify and looked toward the other end of the couch to signal for him to calm down. He refused to look in her direction and Lily waved towards Rose, mouthing “Behave.” Rose reached down and gently scratched Jungkook’s head just as she did before their mom decided to pay them a last-minute visit. He relaxed a little with her touch, but just enough to move his stare away from Rebecca and focus up on Rose.
Time passed as the family sat in the living room, trying to enjoy the movie while waiting for dinner to be finished. The sisters could hardly pay attention, too occupied with making sure the hybrids stayed in their forms and behaved. The sound of the rice cooker was the salvation that broke the tension in Lily’s shoulders. She leaped from the couch, surprising Soobin as he watched her leave with a whine.
“Is that the peppers?” Rebecca called after her eldest daughter.
Lily looked towards the oven and saw the timer still had ten more minutes. “No, just the rice.” She unplugged the cooker and lifted the lid to fluff the rice.
“Rice? For what?”
The eldest brunette placed the lid back on the cooker and racked her mind for dishes to use for the boys. “It’s for the dogs.” She answered, sighing in defeat when she realized they didn’t have dog bowls since they ate in their human form for the most part.
“Wow, you spoil them, don’t you?” Rebecca cooed at Taehyun as his tongue hung from his mouth, loving all the attention.
Rose laughed and rolled her eyes. “Oh, you have no idea.” She gave Jungkook a knowing look, her smirk ever-present on her lips.
Lily worked on prepping the rest of their meal, using their normal bowls, be damned what her mom might say about them being used for animals. She scooped a spoonful of rice into each dish before placing some pieces of chicken and carrots on top. She heated the dishes in the microwave to warm up the toppings for just a minute and pulled them back out to mix the contents of the bowls.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
The oven’s timer went off, letting Lily know the stuffed peppers were finally cooked through and ready for consumption. She bustled to get everything together, placing the peppers on a serving plate and centering it on the dining table. “Dinner’s ready!” She hollered, dashing back to the kitchen to grab plates and utensils. “Mom, what would you like to drink?” Lily worked hard to cater to their mother, trying to avoid any more tension until she left.
After preparing the table and setting the dogs up with their bowls, Lily finally relaxed into her chair. Conversations were brought up about school and work, their mom beaming with enthusiasm as her daughters achieved titles for themselves, climbing up the social hierarchy. Soobin munched on his food as he sensed Lily’s nerves buckling from Rebecca’s questions about promotions and raises.
“It must be difficult taking care of three dogs and your sister.” Rebecca sat back, fixing her stare at her eldest. “You need to meet someone who can provide for you.”
Lily bit back the urge to roll her eyes, remembering how ecstatic her mom was about her ex. She went to respond, but Rose cut her off. “Lily doesn’t take care of me; I take care of myself.” It was true, Rose worked hard to pay her own bills and helped with some of the house utilities.
“Oh, I’m sure you do, but you’re just a waitress now.” The simple phrase pissed Rose off. She knew she was working hard to graduate and make more money, but she hated that her mom belittled a job that was considered a career for others.
Jungkook scarfed down his meal, the hairs on his back bristling with the waves of frustration rippling from the girls. He noticed Lily nudge her leg against Rose’s, shaking her head disapprovingly. It made him wonder what their silent communication meant as they just let this woman belittle them since she arrived.
Taehyun finished his meal and meandered his way toward Rebecca, looking up at her with his large puppy eyes before he began whining for food. Their mother cooed down at him, petting his fur. “They really are quite good…well, except one.” Her eyes flickered towards the doberman, who slobbered over his food. “He just doesn’t seem like a good fit.”
“Mom...” Lily exhaled, ready to stand up for Jungkook, but was cut off by Rose.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” The youngest was beyond irritated that her mom was dismantling their peaceful evening and then making jabs at Jungkook. Her patience was running thin.
Lily tried to signal for Rose to abort her mission and cut this topic before it escalated, but her sister kept her focus on their mother. She yelped when she felt a cold, wet nose pressing against her thigh and glanced under the table to find Soobin, nuzzling his snout against her. She reached down and brushed her fingers through his thick hair, smiling as he chased the feeling of her hand on his head.
“Well, I’m just saying Dobermans are very aggressive dogs. You two are better suited with Chief and Bullet.” Taehyun’s ear lowered against his head, confused by her words. It was the three of them and would always be. Jungkook took care of them; they needed him, otherwise, they would have never found their new home. “Three dogs are just too many.”
Jungkook stopped eating and hunched down like a predator about to pounce on his prey, approaching the table as he bared his teeth, snarling at their mom. Rose turned in her chair to see Jungkook stalking towards her mom. “Kookie…” She warned, hoping he would behave just by the tone in her voice.
Their mother boldly looked into Jungkook’s glare and waved her finger with a tut of judgment. “See? That’s just no good. He’s a liability.” Jungkook snapped his jaw at her as he barked loudly in warning. “Bad dog!” He lunged forward, ready to bite the offensive finger she pointed at him accusingly, but Rose dove on top of him and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him against her chest as he fought to attack.
His demeanor set the other two off, Soobin howling at Lily, standing before her protectively. Taehyun barked at Rebecca, baring his teeth in defense of Jungkook. Lily tried to guide the others away while Rose wrestled Jungkook. “You can’t handle him. He needs proper training.” Their mother insisted as she stood up from her seat, nervous that Jungkook would break loose from Rose’s hold.
“Just shut up!” Rose grunted. She laid her head against Jungkook’s back when he stopped growling. Everyone froze as they looked towards Rose, not used to her speaking up so rashly. She wasn’t afraid to share her opinion, but she never really lashed out. “Yeah, he’s a lot sometimes, but he probably never had a good home.”
Jungkook relaxed against her hold curious by her words. Was she defending him? Rebecca narrowed her eyes at her youngest, “Excuse me? Did you tell me to shut up?”
Lily panicked as she wrapped one arm around Soobin and Taehyun’s neck. She only hoped her sister didn’t dig them further into the grave.
“Yeah, I did. Kookie is my dog, and I don’t appreciate the way you talk about him.” Now that he was settled, she gently stroked his fur with a smile ghosting over her lips. Her mind drifted to his actions at the diner, how he stood up for her and in that moment, she wanted to return the favor. “So, what if he’s a doberman? It doesn’t matter. He’s the best and there’s nothing you can say to change my mind.”
Jungkook looked back at Rose, his large eyes curious about her words. Did she really mean that? He could sense her ease and knew she was being sincere. His body chased her touch, nuzzling his head back into her palm for more affection. Lily watched in awe, the long-awaited moment where her sister finally accepted Jungkook into their home was unorthodox, but just as gratifying.
Rebecca huffed in response to Rose’s comments, lifting her nose up at the doberman regardless of her daughter’s argument. “Don’t cry to me when he bites someone.”

As the evening settled and the group of five recovered from the taxing whirlwind that was the girl’s mom, Rose found herself lying peacefully in bed, her fingers manipulating the keys of her iPhone as she responded to a text from Taehyung. She couldn’t help but smile at his request, suddenly excited about the possibility of him coming over for a study date. They rarely ever had the opportunity to be alone due to either their busy schedules or their stubbornness to admit their feelings for each other standing in the way.
Rose’s train of thought was quickly pulled by the sight of Jungkook sauntering through her room while rubbing his damp hair with a small towel. His built frame was concealed by an oversized gray t-shirt which was pulled up slightly as his hands worked through his hair, exposing his pajama bottoms that hung deliciously off of his hips. He rubbed the towel behind his ears, tilting his head to the side as if trying to shake out water from his ear canal.
Typically, Jungkook found comfort at the foot of her bed, curling up in his dog form to avoid as much contact with the brunette as he possibly could. Recently, he’d begun sleeping by her side, enjoying a larger amount of space on the bed as they began enjoying each other's company.
Rose shifted in her spot, rotating her body to place her phone on her nightstand, making sure to plug it in and double-check that her alarm was set for her early morning positioning class. As she turned to get comfortable for the evening, she felt her mattress sink from beside her, more so than when Jungkook would usually hop in bed. Her eyes shifted to find a very human Jungkook hugging a pillow as he found a comfortable position with his stomach face down as if he’d just thrown himself on the bed.
Rose’s eyes widened. First, he was lying on her lap while she was studying in his human form, and now he was lying beside her? “What are you doing?” She questioned, Jungkook remained perfectly still as he responded.
“Going to sleep.” His voice was deep, slightly husky from the exhaustion of the day with his head resting on its side, his handsome features facing away from her prying eyes.
She sunk into her sheets, leaning her head on her hand as her elbow kept her propped up. “Like that?” She didn’t mean anything by it. She was simply surprised that for the first time since his arrival, he was comfortable enough to sleep without morphing. She caught a glimpse of Jungkook pushing up on his elbows as his tired eyes found her questioning stare.
“Is there a problem?” His expression hardened, almost as if expecting her to refute and cause a scene. Rose inhaled, shaking her head as she allowed herself to lay flush along her back.
“Nope.” She finally released her breath, feeling the duvet shuffle from beside her. She glanced to the side, her blue hues freezing on the image of Jungkook’s face inches from her own. He rotated his body towards her with his face hovering centimeters from her cheek as he inhaled the ever-comforting scent exuding off of her.
“Thanks for what you said today.” His voice was soft, leaving Rose stunned by the sincerity laced in his tone.
Her eyes quickly found the ceiling, refusing to stare back at him in such close proximity. She could already feel her heartbeat accelerating due to his invasion of her personal space. “My mom’s a lot. I just wanted to shut her up.” Rose lied, knowing fully that while yes, she did want to put her mom in her place, she was also genuinely defending Jungkook.
Despite keeping her eyes glued to the ceiling, she felt him move closer, his nose brushing against her cheek as he moved to speak in her ear. He could sense her discomfort, thrilled that he was the reason for her heart pummeling against her ribcage. “I knew you secretly loved me.” He teased, moving to roll back to the other side of the bed. A large smirk invaded his lips, his hearing zoning in on the irregularity in her breathing, satisfied with the effect he caused.
Rose was paralyzed, her body freezing up at Jungkook’s breath against her ear. The mockery in his tone was accompanied by a deep rumble in his chest, almost as if he knew what he was doing. She gulped down the shock, upset with how easily he managed to throw her off. She stubbornly rolled over to face the opposite direction, pulling her covers up over her shoulders. “Whatever.” She mumbled, fighting the threat of a smile tugging at her lips.
—
While Rose outwardly rebelled against their mother, Lily took a more internal approach, remaining quiet to appease everyone until she found herself alone to cope with the stress of the day. The warmth of her running shower washed away the tension in her muscles, finally feeling as if she could release the large wave of anxiety that festered during the entirety of their mother’s visit. Lily wasn’t one to outwardly express her emotions which often ended with her dwelling on the things she could’ve said or should’ve done.
She let a sigh escape her lips as she lathered the shampoo between her fingers, combing it through her strands before massaging her scalp in gentle circles. It didn’t take long until she heard the familiar click of her bathroom door, letting an exasperated sigh escape her lips at the realization that she hadn’t locked it. She knew she needed to, especially after Soobin’s latest invasion, however, it often slipped her mind as she fought to create a new habit in her routine.
She quietly wiped the suds from her eyes, peering through the glass to find Soobin standing directly in front of her, his eyes dark with need as they stalked her through the glass. She jumped back in surprise, placing a hand over her heart as she felt the organ thump against her palm. “Fuck…Soobin.” She groaned, feeling as if her heart sank from the fear. “Why’d you do that? I thought I told you to knock?”
She felt exposed, suddenly recalling that the only thing preventing Soobin from seeing every inch of her naked body was the thin layer of condensation that accumulated against the glass. “I forgot.” His voice was husky with lust, lying through his teeth as he tugged off his shirt and bottoms, peeling the layers off effortlessly. His body was scorching, no longer able to deny his urges as they compelled him to take what he wanted, and what he wanted was Lily.
“What are you doing?” She spoke frantically as she watched the tallest hybrid pull open the shower door, revealing their naked bodies to each other as his eyes dilated fully from the sight of her.
“Shit...you’re perfect.” He huffed, wasting no time to invade the small confinement of the space, his mind almost placing him in a trance as his body forced him to indulge in his instincts.
Lily stood wide-eyed, the inner workings of her mind shutting down as she observed Soobin’s naked frame, stunned by how muscular and toned he was. She felt her throat run dry, parched at the mere sight of his body, let alone his thick hardened length hanging deliciously between his thighs.
She blinked a few times, holding out her hands to press against his chest as he attempted to pull their bodies together. “Soobin…I…” She felt his fingers grasp around her wrist as he slowly pulled her hands down. He snaked a hand around her waist, the contact igniting Lily’s skin from the warmth of his palms. He gently pressed against her hip bones as he turned her to face away from him, moving his hands up to her scalp.
He began mimicking gentle circles as he massaged the shampoo against her strands. Lily’s eyes squeezed shut as her mouth hung open from the calming motions as if receiving a much-needed therapy session to suppress her anxiety. She felt herself melt under his touch, her body swaying against each movement of his fingertips. She felt the stream of water rinse away any evidence of the soap as Soobin moved his hands down to her shoulders before brushing his fingertips along the length of her arms.
He leaned forward, his lips brushing her ear from behind as his hands gripped her hips tightly. “I need you.” The desperation in his voice sent a wave of lust coursing through Lily, feeling the throbbing of her heat as her body became drenched from his ministrations. “I’ve wanted you all week.”
He continued, slowly moving forward as he guided her to press against the wall of the shower, her chest pinned in place against the tile as his fingertips squeezed against the flesh of her hips. “Can I have you?” He continued to whisper in her ear with a low guttural sound accompanying his voice, his breath sending a chill through her body as his lips brushed against the shell of her ear. Lily could make out the slightest whine accompanying his words as if simply waiting for her permission caused him severe anguish.
She turned her head to the side, her cheek pressing against the tile as her palms rested on either side of her, completely unraveling from the seduction of Soobin’s actions. She nodded weakly, unable to vocalize her desires as she felt Soobin’s hips buckle forward from her silent gesture, his hardened length pressing into the flesh of her ass as a satisfied groan bellowed from his chest.
He moved with urgency. He needed her and she was just within his reach as he trailed his fingers down towards her swollen heat, gliding through her moist folds as he circled the pad of his index finger against her clit. The moan he extracted from her lips only fueled his motivation, his pupils were completely blown out as he allowed her scent to intoxicate him further.
“You’re so wet for me…” He growled, slipping his hand further to insert two fingers inside her. His hips bucked forward as he felt her stretch around his digits as he craved the sensation around his cock. He pumped his fingers in and out, his eyes glued to the sight of Lily pressed between him and the wall. Her eyes were squeezed shut, her face displaying the pleasure Soobin was putting her body through as she pushed her hips back to rub her ass against his hardened length.
“Please, Soobin.” She whined, desperate to feel him inside of her as the heat of the moment became suffocating. Each pump of his fingers built the growing sensation in the pit of her stomach, grinding her hips against his as she savored the stretch of him slipping in another finger. “Soobin, I need you.”
Her pleading sent him over, his rut completely engulfing his instincts as he pressed her hips forward, releasing his fingers and replacing it with his dick, already dripping in precum as he pushed himself in rather quickly. Lily let out a gasp as the sudden rapid stretch around his length sent a wave of pleasure and pain from her adjusting to his girth. “Shit. I’m sorry.” Soobin whispered in her ear, wrapping a hand around her neck to guide her chin to face him. He hopelessly fought to still his hips, allowing Lily to adjust to him further before moving inside of her.
He leaned forward, tilting his head to the side to capture Lily’s lips in a heated kiss with the stream of warm water running along Soobin’s back as he pressed into her from behind. He pulled away, moving to whisper in her ear once more as his fingers laced with hers, pinning her arms to the tile. “I’m gonna fuck my cum into you, okay baby?” He huffed, his need to move peaking as he instinctually began grinding his hips, thrusting forward as Lily’s pussy took him deliciously. “You take my dick so good.” He groaned happily, picking up the pace as her body constricted around his member.
Lily’s mouth hung open, almost pornographically as each thrust of his hips elicited moans from the brunette. “Oh my god.” She breathed, her body struggling to keep up with Soobin’s pace. Lily’s mind whirled, completely submissive as she craved to feel him pump his seed inside of her, his words aiding in building her climb. Her body jolted against the cold tile, the temperature of Soobin’s body keeping her warm as she felt him pull back, pulling her hips with him.
“Bend over.” He commanded; his voice still soft as it became distorted with lust. Lily was quick to obey, stepping back with him as she bent her torso forward, stretching her arms out to help prop herself up on the wall as she stuck her rear up for him to admire. “Ah shit, that’s it.”
He glanced down to admire the plump flesh of her ass, watching his length slide in and out of her swollen heat as his vision went red in need. Lily moaned as the change in position allowed him to access the deepest part of her cervix, each pounding of his hips hitting her sweet spot. “I’m gonna cum.” She whined, her moans singing Soobin’s praise as she felt the pressure in her stomach snap, coming undone as her walls constricted around his length.
“You’re so tight, baby.” Soobin growled, needing to put more effort into his thrusts as her body shot waves of pleasure through her limbs. He slipped out of her, dropping a knee as his large hands gripped the cheeks of her ass. He pulled them apart to reveal her dripping pussy as his eyes devoured the sight of her drenched from his ministrations.
He leaned forward, running his tongue up from her clit along the length of her lips as he tasted his sweet human, her scent invading his senses. Lily was too blissed out to notice Soobin’s movements, practically crawling out of her skin as she felt his wet tongue taste the entirety of her vagina. She instinctively stood up, Soobin’s hand pressing her back down to keep her bent over as he stood up. “One more, give me one more.”
Who was this version of Soobin? He was so needy, yet so confident. She felt as if his words alone could ignite another orgasm. He was so tender yet animalistic as he indulged in his rut, overwhelming Lily’s senses completely.
It wasn’t long until she felt the pressure back between her legs, whining slightly at the stimulation as Soobin continued to draw reactions from her body. This time he was on a mission. He wanted to fill her to the brim with his cum, his desire to mate her invaded his judgment as he bit down on his lip to prevent it from sinking into her shoulder. He began pounding into her mercilessly, his mind going crazy at the view of her bent over for him, watching her take him was the best he’d ever seen. She was perfect and he wanted to make her his, only his.
His ruthless rhythm built up Lily’s climax once more, another orgasm ripping through her as he growled at the tightening of her walls. A guttural sound echoed through the shower as his teeth and eyes flashed to reveal his animalistic nature, his cock pummeling her cervix as he felt his end, painting her walls with seed as a euphoric haze overwhelmed his mind. This was the moment he’d been waiting for his entire rut, the torture of pushing off his desire finally relieved as he pumped in every ounce of cum he had to give. His hands moved from around her waist to her shoulders, helping her stand straight as she whimpered from the overstimulation of his cock sliding against her clit when he pulled out.
Her face was flushed with the evidence of her pleasure exposed in her blissed expression. She turned to face Soobin, her eyes finding the chocolate coloration of his irises as his pupils receded. He looked completely spent, the exhaustion evident on his features as a large smile invaded his naturally pouty lips. “You’re amazing.” He whispered, clearly out of breath from their heated exchange. He pressed the palm on his hand against her cheek, watching as Lily leaned into his hand in return, closing her eyes from the tender moment.
“I could say the same thing about you.” She grinned, opening her eyes to find Soobin’s longing expression. While his rut was now suppressed and sedated, his urge to mate her only amplified, wanting to be the only person to ever experience her the way he had. He pulled her flush against his chest, savoring the warmth of her body as he held her in his embrace, allowing the water to wash away any mess they created.
