Okay, but hear me out.

Comphet gay Steve Harrington on the Titantic with his arranged fiancée Nancy Wheeler. And while she's nowhere near as digustingly awful as Caledon Hockley is in the movie, she is easily jealous because Steve is a handsome man and gets attention from ladies of all age.

Never mind when he starts wanting to spend all his time with third-class passenger and wild card Eddie Munson, a jack-of-all-trades who just happens to be good at both music and drawing.

And in those few days together, Steve gets to actually live and be happy and realize things about himself and life that he never even dreamed about.

But also give them a happy ending where the door is strong and buoyant enough to hold the weight of two people without sinking into the water.
