Trying to kill him, sure. Understandable. That's something Qrow's probably willing to shrug off.

In fact I fully believe every member of team strq has tried to kill at least one other team member at some point (because they are both individually and collectively disasters).

But this time Raven's throwing of Qrow under the bus also put Ruby and Yang (and the rest of his kids, but I don't think he's willing to admit that) in danger.

And true to form Qrow seems to care far more about them being put in danger than himself. Hence his statement "you've crossed a line".

Its definitely something they can move past, especially if Raven ends up helping get the kids out of the ever after. But I think the twins are too stubborn to just move past it without outside help.

Outside help most likely taking the form of Taiyang lamenting that he's gonna be babysitting these two idiots for the rest of his life, and Robyn barely resisting the urge to pull out the popcorn and egg them on further.

i find it so funny when people are like "qrow's going to be so mad at raven for trying to kill him the next time they meet" when

qrow wouldn't even know that? he wasn't there when raven claimed she wanted qrow dead, and she certainly did not tell him at haven either

raven didn't even actually want qrow dead. if he was going to be such a big problem for knowing about the spring maiden, raven had plenty of opportunities to get rid of him after higanbana... ya know, like that time he was dying of poison

qrow doesn't exactly have the highest of high horses here; he was planning on attacking the tribe to get the spring maiden, and considering he was trying to recruit huntsmen and huntresses for the task, it didn't exactly sound like they were going to ask nicely—which on its own is pretty damning because based on what they knew, the spring maiden had ran away to get away from them, and here they were, planning to take her back by what sounds like force

the very first thing qrow did when he found out raven was there at haven was to shoot at her, and raven was offended he didn't do it properly.

they're siblings with a very fucked up relationship. i feel like attempted murders at each other are basically water under the bridge by default for them.

Hey so, a bit over a week ago i was feeling pretty similar to where you seem to be at now.

I had just skimmed the IPCC report and spent most of that day with the yawning sense of climate doom looming over me.

Not a fun time.

Eventually I managed to distract myself with this and that until it wasn't weighing on me so heavily, but that sense of impending doom didn't really go away.

One of the things that helped get rid of that feeling was this video

To be clear, this is not a video saying, "actually its all good, the whole situation will work itself out."

This is a video that lays out some of the worse case scenarios, and its not good...

But it's not apocalyptic either.

My brain has a habit of coming up with worst-case scenarios, when faced with a question like climate change the scenario I can come up with is human-extinction level bleak.

But this scenario, as the video explains, is actually unlikely.

In a way I found it comforting, to be told what were the worst-case scenarios that were actually likely. They were bad, but not as bad as I thought they'd be.

I don't say this to minimize the issue or your feelings about it. I get it. Against a problem this big its hard not to feel overwhelmed sometimes.

So do what you need to do to feel better, maybe you find the video helpful the same way I did. Maybe you'd prefer to just distract yourself and not think about it for awhile, give a little room so you can stabilize.

Do whatever you need to do.

Just don't give up.

Because climate change is going to be the most important fight we face as a species.

And we haven't lost the fight yet.

I may not be suicidal but I do kinda hope I die before the world becomes completely unlivable y’know

I'd assume the spring maiden would've been roughly the same age as vernal if she was supposed to a decoy for her (and I'd imagine they'd resemble each other as well for the same reasons). But I also really want to know what the deal between them was, and I love your speculation about it.

okay but this is actually another interesting part of "who the heck was the spring maiden" and where the lack of her name really starts to stand out.

i think we can safely assume that people like qrow and lionheart would have known the spring maiden before she left, right? qrow especially, since he knew amber and fria.

yet, when they see vernal, the presumed spring maiden, there's no reaction from them; no familiarity, no questions on why she changed her name; and in an event that vernal didn't resemble the spring maiden at all, no mention of how the powers have changed host and they're now dealing with a spring maiden they don't know.

so, in my mind, there are two options:

vernal was the perfect decoy and resembled the previous spring maiden so much that no one questioned the name change—or the spring maiden's name was vernal and the vernal we knew decided to add identity theft on top of all the other crimes that come by default with banditry. it wouldn't explain the lack of familiarity, but that could be chalked up to time and place... OR

qrow and lionheart never actually met the spring maiden and simply presumed that vernal must have been her based on what they did know about her... which admittedly doesn't sound like was much, but it also does raise a question where and from whom they got that information from (most likely ozpin, but you never know)

this is why the lack of name and raven never mentioning the time frame starts making things a bit suspicious, because frankly, can we even say that these people are talking about the same spring maiden? there have been many spring maidens over the years, so some identification would be nice!!

for all we know, they're talking about two different spring maidens and we're all just assuming it's one and the same.

and honestly if that's the case then i'll applaud the writers but also it drives me mad.
