I hope chicken nugget got counseling in prison. Given the time period and the opinions on law and justice practices in the us, that’s doubtful, but I’m gonna pretend he did because he needs so much therapy. He just needs someone to tell him that what happened wasn’t his fault, his mom was a (however unintentional) manipulative abuser who was too ill to be a parent, and that it was not his job nor his responsibility to fix her. Like yes okay he was complicit in what happened and perpetrated many crimes himself but he was under the impression he was doing the right thing because it’s what his mom always said would fix her problems and he was being tortured seeing her so upset all the time he just wanted to make her happy. He loved her so much and looked up to her so much he would do literally anything for her. He could not see how messed up she was- I mean he could see she was clearly upset and wanted vengeance but he could not see that her method of “healing” was not effective and completely inappropriate.

Like he needed so much fucking therapy. Just…. All the therapy.
